Nice little fusion restaurant. Nice walking area around it. Food was good but not great Overall pleasurable. Did the mistake of confusing it with the one star michelin restaurant Costes. This one definitely does not live up to any Michelin guide standards.

The decor of the restaurant attracted us off of a busy street with many food options. Had high expectations for the restaurant but unfortunately the food was very average but very overpriced. I ordered the beef short rib which required a separate portion of rice to make it a meal. There was nothing special about the rice or beef and just arrived as is, rice and beef with no additional vegetables or advertised "fusion". The portions were also so small that I had pretty much finished my meal before the person I was with had even received their meal. Horrendously overpriced for what I received and the service was very average too. I would recommend to keep on walking down the street if you're hungry.

The food tasted alright but overpriced. We stopped by actually just for small food and drinks however with this price we could have enjoyed more in a restaurant instead of in a Tapas bar. The variety of food is not big. Nice staff. Card payment accepted.

Visited Costes Izakaya for dinner last night and was thoroughly impressed. The ambiance of the place was inviting with a modern twist on traditional Japanese décor, setting the stage for a unique culinary journey. The appetizers were a highlight, particularly the seaweed salad that was a symphony of flavors with its green apple, sweet corn, and a zesty soy-sesame sauce – a refreshing beginning that primed the palate for more. The Tonkatsu bowl was a standout among the main courses. The pork was perfectly breaded and fried, creating a delightful texture, and the wasabi mayonnaise added just the right amount of heat. It was accompanied by tonkatsu sauce that was rich and flavorful, complementing the pork excellently. The Korean BBQ beef rib crown was well worth the additional charge, with its succulent meat falling off the bone and a spicy teriyaki sauce that was a bold testament to the fusion of flavors. Desserts ended the meal on a high note, with the black sesame brûlée providing an intriguing, nutty twist to a classic dessert. Service was attentive and informative, enhancing the overall experience. I left Costes Izakaya feeling satisfied and excited to return. For those looking for an inventive take on Japanese cuisine with high-quality ingredients and a charming atmosphere, this is a must-visit spot. A solid 5-star experience!

We were surprised how few people were there to eat. It is a great place. Fusion Asian, some Hungarian touches and tapas like portions. Great place to share food.

If it was a $$ bistro it deserved a good review but they claim to be a ‘fine bistro’. We had the tasting menu which is, according to the staff, a selection of the chef’s best items - to us it was rather a disapointment. First 2 from the row was fine: salads are good and tasty. We eat meat but the in this menu, the meat is way too much overrepresented. The wagyu was chewey, the other wagyu (suppose to be a steak) was something hard to describe in terms of texture and taste - not in a positive way. All in all, every meat had the same smoked taste. Desserts are average. I like the other restaurants of the Costes family but this one .. :/ I should’ve listen to the reviews.

This was a very good surprise since it mixes Asian cooking style with international flavors. We took 2 appetizers and 2 main dishes to share. The burrata with kimchi was a roller coaster between the smoothness and the silky fat of the creamy cheese and the spikes given by the acidic and spicy kimchi. The cevice Negra and the ribs also were very pleasant experience but the king of all dishes was the Wagyu steak with Wasabi sauce. The meat was so tender that melted in my mouth. Just be carefully to not overdress the meat with Wasabi sauce in order to keep a balanced flavor. Well done! The only disappointment was the filtration system. I exited the restaurant that I smelled like a piece of BBQ meat!

We were lucky to find this Asian-inspired gem in the heart of Budapest. Flavor, culture and ambiance are making this place stand out. David the bartender who truly steals the show with his cocktails and service! Expertly crafted drinks and friendly, attentive service made our night exceptional. We’ll definitely come back again.
