Restaurant Côté Cour à Aix-en-Provence

We use to visit this restaurant once every year but this time we had an awful experience. Fair enough the restaurant has a great location smack in the middle of the city but the food is now a let down. To start with, we took a scallops tartare that was bathing in a creamy sauce and an egg mollet that was mixed in some pumpkin mashed with god knows what. There were some bellota ham but they tasted like bacon. The main dish consisted of a Rossini steak with a grilled foie gras that tasted just terrible. Finally the dessert was a tart tatin that only had the name and little in common with the original dish, whether it was texture, taste or look. But the worst was the piece of sharp plastic we found in the tarama. A 2 cm left over piece of lid found its way in the dish. It could have easily poked my mouth, throat or stomach. Although the waiter was apologetic, at no point did the manager or cook came to inquire if we were ok. The cook/owner was too busy taking care of his children who were annoying the customers rather than care he served us a health hazard. This restaurant used to be a great one, now we will never set foot there.

One of our best meals in Aix-en-Provence and better than the sister restaurant we had the day before. From the appetizers to the dessert everything was spectacular. The flavors are on point and the only thing that can be improved is increasing the number of wait staff during peak season as it was a challenge to get our orders in. The place looks amazing. If you are sensitive to heat and there in Summer ask for a seat under the shade instead of the glass ceilings.

Their appetizers were amazing. The ceviche was yummy, but the main entree dishes (duck and the steak) were hard to chew and didn’t have any flavor. Not worth the price :/ also, the wait was forever for food/bill/etc. they said that they are short staffed, but didn’t apologize or ask for understanding 🤷🏻‍♀️

That’s for sure one of the most delicious places I have ever had lunch in in France. It’s a good price for such an amazing experience. The service is facet. The staff is friendly and speaks English. The dishes are excellent. No words to be honest.

Avoid this place!!!! I visited in July 2026 and had a very disappointing experience. During our meal, a waiter dropped a bottle onto my phone, smashing it. He clearly saw what had happened but hurried away without saying anything. It took a few moments for me, my sisters, and my mum to realise that my phone had been damaged when the bottle fell. When we called him back over, he apologised, but it was very strange that he initially walked off without acknowledging it. He gave me his mobile number and said he would arrange to have the phone repaired. I also informed several other staff members that evening, including who I believed to be the manager, and was assured it would be sorted. It is now February 2026, and despite messaging the waiter (Adrian) and calling multiple times, I have received no response. I have also emailed the restaurant several times and have been completely ignored. To make matters worse, the food was very average, and our table was positioned next to what appeared to be the neighbouring restaurant’s bin storage area. There was a strong smell, and it was extremely loud whenever someone disposed of rubbish. Overall, this was a highly unprofessional experience with no accountability or follow-up. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Great location with a wonderful atmosphere. The food was fantastic start to finish. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a premium dining experience. My only complaint would be that it was quite busy on the Tuesday in the summer and the service was a little short staffed, so we ended up waiting a little more than would have preferred to pay for the bill.

I had an amazing meal at this place. The food was incredibly tasty. The waiters were polite and helpful. The restaurant is cozy and the same time sophisticated. A must go if you’re visiting Aix.

Tried the 4 course dinner and it was absolutely amazing. The complimentary bread with truffle dip was very delicious. Lemon tart for dessert is the highlight!

Good food, good ambiance, good music, and .. famous chief from the French version of the TV program Top Chef :)

Very nice ambiance but that's where it ended. Server was curt and not helpful re explaining the menu. My apps were nice. My fish also nice truly nothing special. My wife ordered the duck, big mistake. Presented as a portion like no other duck I ever seen. huge fat back and totally unable to cut much less chew. Woman at the next table had the same terrible plate. Certainly don't think this was chef's grandma's recipe. Nowhere near any type of critic's choice. Not with a duck that more resembled a Michelin tire vs a meal!

too greasy common ingredient not the best quality you might find still pretty clean place with an open kitchen +++++
