I stayed here On Saturday 28th of February 2026 Food - Excellent Hotel - Good Spa - Poor The Spa was very run down, The swimming pool was cold And the spa treatment was very disappointing. I asked for a firm massage, but despite mentioning it on a few occasions, it was not why I asked for. The treatment started 10 minutes late and my wife and I had a treatment at the same time yet mine finished a good 10 minutes earlier than hers. My wife was offered a variety of different oils, but this did not seem to be the case with me, Reception said this often comes down to the individual therapist however I don’t see that cutting the time short and not getting what I asked for was acceptable for our luxury spa break. I didn’t make a fuss it was as it was my wife’s birthday however this was very disappointing.

Very disappointing stay at The Cotswold House Hotel and Spa. I booked an overnight stay for my friends birthday together with spa treatments. On arrival the room was a little tired looking, but comfortable the bathroom had some crumbling plaster, that needed repairing. The bathroom had a deep bath which needed a step over to use the shower, despite me requesting a walk in shower on booking, as it was a struggle for my friend to be able to climb over the bath to use the shower! On phoning reception we were told there was a room we could upgrade to for a further payment of £40! Having already paid £350.00 for bed and breakfast and two spa treatments for one night, we thought this a little extortionate and disappointing just for a walk-in shower for one night, so declined the upgrade. There were no toiletries in the bathroom which I only realised when I went to look for soap. Another phone call to reception and a lady brought up various small bottles of toiletries and two tiny bars of soap. Breakfast in the morning was lovely, attentive staff and good service. After breakfast we checked out and went to have our spa treatments. As we were waiting to go into the treatment room, the spa receptionist came to us and said hotel reception had called to tell us to return any toiletries from the room to reception before we left, or we would be charged £100.00!!!! I asked her if this was a joke, as we had opened and used half the bottles, including shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body lotion. She said we would be charged the £100.00 if we didn't hand them back!! I am utterly astonished after paying £350.00 for one night to be asked to return toiletries half of which were open and used. I have stayed in many hotels all over world and in this country, and I have never experienced anything like this. It honestly put a real dampener on what was meant to be a lovely birthday break for my friend and I. Needless to say I won't be visiting again and would definitely not recommend this hotel. Appalling way to treat your guests!!!!

First time visiting Cotswold House and I parked at the rear where there was free parking in the rear car park or on the road leading to it. We had afternoon tea and I was pleasantly surprised that my gluten free veggie offering was nice! The bread was soft and the fillings were a nice selection. I had a selection of cakes and 2 scones. I couldn't eat it all so took some home in a box. Very pleased with the service, food, atmosphere and location and will go again.

We booked in for an overnight stay and spa package. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate some last minute changes to the booking to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible. The spa is small but a lovely atmosphere. We upgraded the room and it was well worth it. Food for dinner and breakfast was lovely and staff very friendly. The location is perfect and the village is really pretty to explore with some good pub/resturant options and cafes!

Fantastic place for a getaway and enjoy local amenities right on the doorstep. Excellent stay, amazing food in the Hidcote Bistro topped off with cocktails in the bar. The pool and spa area were an added luxury. Our suite was very spacious and clean, staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended

We stayed here and had 2 rooms. Both were nice and it was quiet. |Meal was ok. But we had only got 2 choices for main |Beef and vegetarian |I don’t like beef and feel there should have been a chicken or fish dish offered. |No choice for dessert. Which was a shame. |Service was excellent. |There’s no lift at this property so bear that in mind as there was a 3 floors in part of the hotel.

This is a stunning hotel and perfect for our special occasion. Big shout out to Vlad and his young chap in support. Both guys were outstanding. Vlad makes the best cocktails and the young gentleman was so knowledgeable about the area and great with the guests. The ladies in The spa were also great. Enjoyed our stay very much thank you.

This time we hope to see more of the surrounding area ❤️

This Hotel came highly regarded of which we saw parts. The gardens in the back our pretty, the buffet breakfast was generous, staff were pleasant, and the downtown location was very convenient. However, overall hotel room comfort did not meet expectations. When we checked in, our room was very hot due to the sun coming in the windows. The AC didn't work properly and the front desk was very slow in finding someone to solve the problem. Because we faced the street, it was too noisy to have the windows open at night to get fresh air. Perhaps I would have felt differently if given a room in the back with a view of the gardens. This was our least favorite hotel out of the six we stayed in during a 7-day walking tour.

Lovely hotel with comfy beds and fantastic bath and shower! Bathtub fills up fast and so soothing after a long day! The Fig restaurant was good and the bar/pub ok except for the jarring rock/blues that was blaring. Only problem was they are very understaffed so the wait times are long. I made an appointment at the spa but a customer before me was late and I couldn't wait the extra 30 minutes they were behind so I was so very disappointed....especially since they didn't offer anything like a percentage off on a product or service.....they didn't seem to care.

This review is particularly for Afternoon Tea at FIG restaurant only. We stopped by after strolling around Chipping Campden without making prior reservation. The staffs were courteous and kindly checked for availability for us. We then were greeted and seated soon after. The service at Fig was great. The tea selections are great. The High Tea set are delicious and quite a lot! I actually enjoyed the scones quite a lot even though I don't like it that much in the States. Quality, Service, and Experience definitely worth more than 22£ per person.

Cotswold House is the cat's meow...! The service is impeccable. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. The ambiance is romantic and inviting. The grill is lovey and offers tasty meals. And, the setting - right smack in the middle of town - is gorgeous. A bottle of champagne was wating for us upon arrival. Bottled waters were provided with the evening turn-down service. And, the beds and bathroom in our room made us feel like we were in our own mini-spa. I'd return in a heartbeat. This is The Cotswolds. This is an English Rose amongst roses in the breathtaking English countryside. Yes, it is the 'COT's' meow... ;)

Me and my wife stayed here for three nights in June. The location is spectacular and the rooms are extremely romantic. The breakfasts were wonderful. Our only complaint was that there was loud music in front of the hotel both our first night until midnight and all day the following two days. The first night was the Olympicks and the second day was a fair, so just beware of these events before booking.
