Stayed here with my mom for her birthday and loved our stay. The room was so comfortable and thoughtfully appointed. Great location. The pastries delivered in the morning were fantastic and the coffee was also amazing. Very spoiling and can’t wait to come back!

It was a lovely time staying at the Cottage Inn & Spa. We stayed for 2 nights and had an amazing time! It is right next to the square, making various dining and experience options very accessible. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. We also got massages on-site, which was very convenient and relaxing. Would 100% recommend to folks wanting to celebrate special occasions in the beautiful Sonoma valley.

Beautiful cottage in fantastic location. Super clean, designed as the whole place looks and feels like spa. Coffee, tea in the room with delicious pastries brought to our door. We will be coming back!

Google
Fantastic, must place to stay if in the Sonoma area. Quaint, charming, and close to all the great restaurants and shops around the square. The fresh pastries in the morning were the highlight of the many amenities this place has. The service was also impeccable. When we had a slight issue, the staff were immediately on it to compensate us. Highly recommend.

Google
I’m so happy we chose to stay at the Cottage Inn & Spa. The staff is so sweet and the rooms are so beautiful with so much character. No parking lot, but plenty of free street parking and easy to find, even on a Saturday night. The fireplace and free breakfast delivered to the door every morning was our favorite part. Steps away from all the restaurants and shops. A must stay!

We had a wonderful stay for our anniversary. Very quaint small Inn. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, the sheet and towels were luxurious. The staff was also very attentive. Plus, the location can't be beat. I highly recommend.

Google
We adored staying at the Cottage Inn. It’s an absolutely adorable, clean, comfy, cozy place to stay. It was quaint & quiet which was perfect for us. It was located just a 2-5 minute walk to lovely downtown Sonoma. The hotel manager was so helpful and offered her suggestions of wine tastings & restaurants. Wished we stayed longer!! It’s a little gem in a really magical place!

Google
Everything smelled amazing, refreshing, and relaxing. The accommodations were comfortable, the bed and sheets were so soft. The staff went above and beyond to make my birthday memorable and special. It's an intimate and quiet location with not a lot of rooms, so it felt personal. The pastries they leave outside the door in the morning are to die for!!!

Yelp
Teri at Cottage Inn & Spa exemplifies true dedication and exceptional service. Despite their schedule being completely booked, she went out of her way to accommodate my wife and me by arranging for two massage therapists. Her willingness to put in the extra effort and ensure we had a wonderful experience did not go unnoticed. It is rare to encounter someone so committed to going above and beyond to meet their clients' needs, and we are incredibly grateful for her thoughtful and tireless efforts. Thank you, Teri, for your outstanding care and professionalism--you made our visit truly special. We cannot recommend Cottage Inn & Spa, and especially Teri, highly enough!

Yelp
So going to this place was a surprise for my birthday, so I never looked at the reviews or pictures. But my husband and I were a little disappointed. I don't like tile floors especially because I didn't have slippers or socks to walk around. The shower was very small and I thought if you were a big person you couldn't even fit . My husband said the fireplace didn't work. My husband thought it was more like a bed-and-breakfast where you got maybe a small breakfast with fruit and coffee. They did have very good coffee in the room and they left us pastries which were good. The bed I believe was a Tempur-pedic and I slept pretty well. It was close to the square which was great. Even though it was raining, we didn't care, and we walked around the whole square and then ate and walked back. The TP holder maybe should've been on the other side because my husband kept knocking it. Some of the lights you weren't sure where to turn them on but eventually found them. Then I didn't know they had a charging station at the desk if you flipped this partition open. Maybe just put a little note so I would've known. Great that it had a refrigerator was surprised no TV as most places have TVs these days. We checked in after four and so there was nobody on site. We were greeted in the morning, which was nice. I did an edit to add one more picture. But then all the other pictures were gone of the tub that you could hardly get into and the shower stall. Not sure what happened on yelp.

Yelp
We loved this boutique hotel right in the heart of Sonoma. We were in town for a wedding, and loved that this was close to downtown yet still quiet and peaceful. It's walking distance to everything you'd want to see, and we had no issues with parking. The room was beautiful and well maintained, and we loved being able to sit in the courtyard in the evening.

Yelp
Really cute place for a short getaway. I stayed in the Mission Suite which is right next to the front office. It's probably the more noisy of the suites but it's a quiet street in general. I like the room since you can access your car from the front patio. I also like the back patio which is pretty private considering how close it's to the neighboring house. The kitchen with breakfast countertop is very useful as well. The inn is super clean and decorated World Market style (I recognized more than a few vases and furnishings from there). I also saw a toddler staying there but am not sure whether that's an exception.

Yelp
Quaint and well appointed rooms and staff is very accommodating.. they allow for early check in if the room is ready.. stayed in the casita and it was so lovely and relaxing. The location is walking distance to the square which is perfect. I would of given a 5 but the bed was a little too firm for me. Definitely my go to place for my Sonoma getaways..

Yelp
My husband surprised me with a birthday massage today! We arrived a little early and were greeted with warm smiles and cold bottled waters. Terry showed us to the beautiful courtyard where we waited in patio chairs, next to a water fountain and lots of shade (thank goodness because our 5-month old was heating up in the stroller). I got the 90-minute wellness massage with Stephanie. We chatted briefly about the areas that I wanted to focus on, as a new mom. She was very courteous and checked in on me throughout the massage. The pressure was perfect and the lavender lemon scent was soothing and calming. I was so very relaxed that I dozed off and on! This was a perfect way to celebrate my birthday! Thanks Stephanie! Will definitely come back again to treat my wonderful husband for a couples' massage!

Yelp
Didn't want to checkout on Sunday after a great stay at The Cottage Inn & Spa. Everything about this spot is fantastic. The rooms, the aesthetic, the comfortable beds, the 8AM pastries left at your door, the gorgeous showers. I truly could go on and on. Will definitely return next time I'm in Sonoma. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Yelp
Was looking for last minute place to stay after a wedding we were going to in Napa and we stumbled across this place on booking.com. Their last room available that night was their smallest suite(The Courtyard Suite) which was perfect for us since we were just staying for a quick getaway :) We were also looking to check in early to see if we could get ready there before the wedding so I left a voicemail after making the reservation and they called me back the next morning letting me know that if it isn't booked the night before, they'd let me know. I didn't receive a call so I called them back and they responded via text to let me know they'll have housekeeping clean our suite next. So accommodating! Our room was ready by noon and we got there around 1:45. The property is intimate and relaxing and our room, while pretty small, was charming and just what we needed for the night. It was so nice being able to get ready there and drop off our things and we appreciated it so much! I do want to note that the walls are pretty thin so you can hear everything. Also, our coffeemaker wasn't working which was a downside, but our pastries the next morning was a lovely touch :) I did notice our basket was smaller compared to the other suites and was thinking if it was because our room was smaller/cheaper or if it was because they had more guests staying? We had 2 donuts and one of them was bacon. Both my husband and I are vegetarian so we just picked the bits off :) Oh, and sometimes the parking can be a bit hard to find since it's street parking. I think we arrived the same time as some other guests and they had to double back on the street also trying to look for a place to park. Overall, beautiful place to stay and the staff seemed very friendly. Would recommend staying here for the weekend to enjoy the tranquility of the grounds and the hospitality.

Yelp
Really charming inn with almost southwest feel. Excellent service- easy check inn (late), housekeeping 110%!!! Central location in a quaint and quiet neighborhood. Drawback: lack of space at bathroom sink and oddly placed electrical outlet. Breakfast was 2 baked goods (one per guest) and I believe purchased off-site; although tasty, not a fully satisfying start to the day. Property sort of minimal in what to do- central outside sitting area with fountain (some board games) and tiny backyard area with chairs but beyond that, nothing. When booking, we looked forward to moon-gazing through the skylight but said skylight was minuscule! Tile floors-convenient but a warm throw rug would have been pleasant. To recap, a sweet place but limited. We would stay again if in Sonoma...!

michael p.

Yelp
Slow down here ... Hidden gem B&B and Spa located behind historic Sonoma Mission. Excellent deep tissue massage. Serene, beautiful atmosphere. Treat yourself here after hiking or shopping in the square and before dinner.

Leslie R.

Yelp
Had a fantastic stay at The Cottage Inn and Spa in the Arroyo suite. The inn is conveniently located a couple blocks from the plaza, where there are some great restaurants and tasting rooms. The inn itself is also quiet and quaint. The suite was very cozy, relaxing, and well-decorated. It was especially great to have a mini kitchen and private fenced yard! There is no TV, but we knew this in advance and brought a Bluetooth speaker to play some background music. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely stay here again! p.s. We also saw a deer at the home next door!

Melissa F.

Yelp
From the architecture and interior design to the simple cute coffee spoons and lanterns provided in the room, we were happy with it all. The staff was very friendly and allowed us to check in early which is always a plus for me. We reserved the East Suite which was nice and cozy. The room didn't have a TV which we ended up appreciating as we were able to really unwind and relax. Love the jacuzzi and the Beekman toiletries!

Amina M.

Yelp
Stayed here alone for 2 nights, for a solo retreat after working in the frontline of covid for the past year and now in transition to pilot my own practice. I stayed in the Mission Suite, the layout was very aesthetically pleasing and loved the decor/design. I loved the little fresh pastries that are delivered to your room in the morning, made my life much easier without thinking of what to do for breakfast. I loved the jacuzzi bath in this suite because it has a window view of bamboo shoots and nature, perfect for meditation. They provided robes, cleaning supplies, tea/a bag of local coffee. The kitchen area was beautiful. The only downside is the lack of privacy and poor soundproof area/walls. I heard way more than I wanted from a couples' suite near me the second night lol, and also I kept hearing moving (guessing it is the cleaning staff) well into past 1am in the night which kept me up, made it hard for me to sleep. The location is amazing and easy to walk to downtown Sonoma and close to Glen Ellen which I hiked around and explored a bit too.

Yelp
While visiting Sonoma for 2 days, my husband & I booked the Courtyard Room at The Cottage Inn & Spa (it was the only room still available at the time of booking). Street parking was easy to find right in front of the inn. Check-in was simple & we were pleased to find that our room was ready a few hours early. First impressions of the room were favorable. It was simple, but very clean & esthetically pleasing. It looked just like the online photos. The small kitchenette with a microwave, coffee maker, bag of fresh ground coffee, tea bags, jam, refrigerator with cream/butter/water, was a nice touch & appreciated. We were surprised to find that there was not a television in our room, but it was not a big deal. I think it's worth mentioning though, in case that's a deal breaker for you. The complimentary pastries delivered to our room in the morning were a bit disappointing. With all of the great bakeries in the area, we were surprised that the pastries were two sugary donuts. Again, not a huge deal, but we expected a bit more. The biggest complaint though with this particular room is that the door is frosted glass and at night, with the lights from the courtyard shining through, it was literally like having a light on in our room. If you are sensitive to light when trying to sleep like we are, then we do not recommend booking the courtyard room! With that being said though, we would definitely consider staying at The Cottage Inn & Spa again, just in a different room.

Yelp
My sons gifted me w/a stay and massage here, when different flight times interrupted our wine country arrivals. SUCH a beautiful, intimate and lovely space! A warm pastry in a basket hanging at the door in the morning....ohmy! AND the MASSAGE was one of the finest ever experienced. Stephanie, a gentle and wise soul was intuitive and skilled at her work. Pure bliss.

Yelp
What a cute little place! We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The staff was very accommodating and super friendly. Will definitely come back here next time! Highly recommended!

Yelp
Love this beautiful spot! The staff was welcoming and made us feel at home. The grounds are beautiful and the cottages are beautiful and cozy!

Meg L.

Yelp
Lovely Mediterranean-esque boutique hotel in the heart of Sonoma. I've been to wine country multiple times and this was my favorite hotel and location. Love the semi-private outdoor spaces to relax after a day of wine tasting, we shared our outdoor space with one other room but it was perfectly private. Also excellent to be able to walk to town for dinner or coffee - very rare in my experience in wine country and a really nice, especially after wine. The innkeeper was also lovely and especially helpful in sourcing a taxi when we had a hard time finding Uber/Lyft. Will be back for sure!

Deb C.

Yelp
I had the best massage in years at this spa. It was a wonderful therapeutic massage with all the right added touches like aromatherapy and hot towels. My therapist was wonderful and the spa is very cute. Would go back in a heart beat next time I'm in town. Worth every penny.

Yelp
In A Nutshell: -The Cottage Inn & Spa is a wonderful place to stay while you visit Sonoma. -After staying at the Fairmont & this location, both of which are very good, I prefer staying here. -The location is excellent b/c it's a 5 minute walk to downtown. -The cottages/suites are all unique, I was able to stay in a cozy one-bedroom, one bath w/ a kitchen, living room w/ fireplace (bummer b/c it wasn't working) & a tiny backyard that leads out to your car space. -You can also book discounted packages like their full-body couples massages and/or wine tasting down the street at Sojourn Cellars (both were awesome experiences). -The customer service is super-nice & they always give you a warm welcoming smile. -The semi-private courtyard was great to look out at while enjoying breakfast or the high-end tea/coffee (which is supplied in the suite). -Speaking of breakfast, at 8am you get a paper bag hung on your front door which has some baked goods (English scone & French croissant). Overall, this is such an awesome, quiet place to stay at for a couple of days while you enjoy Sonoma & the surrounding wine-country. BOOK IT!

Yelp
The coziest little Inn & Spa! We loved the location... literally walking distance from the Sonoma town square. Parking was easy & accessible with no fees or need to move our car on the weekend. We were a tad early and were greeted with smiles and welcomed right into our room, with a personalized welcome note on our door. I love that we were given a tour of the light switches, remotes, ect. for the room; I found this helpful and personal. We stayed in the South Suite, which was a perfect size for us. There was a blanket in the bottom drawer (unbeknownst to me until check-out day), an ironing board and iron, safe, microwave, fridge, little lantern light and mini speaker. We loved and used the fire whenever we were in the room and were thankful to be able to adjust the heat ourselves with our remote. The bath had jets to make it a jacuzzi and my husband enjoyed this. The February weather was too cold for us to sit outside on our little deck, but it would be lovely in the summer. Of course we had to indulge in the deep tissue & Swedish (prenatal) massage one day as well. They brought sandals to our room, greeted and took us to the spa room, which is beautiful, serene and peaceful. The massages were amazing; we are thankful for Gloria & Willow's talent. I would totally recommend this inn & spa to anyone traveling to the Sonoma area.

Aubrie R.

Yelp
What a GREAT stay!!! Checked in after a day of boozing at Ledson and before a frou frou dinner... We were warmly greeted, given a tour of the facilites, then shown to our room. Was super sweet that they had a "Happy Birthday" sign up for hubby. The room itself was small, but delightfully appointed, and just perfect for the two of us. After more boozing and eating, we stumbled back into the courtyard out of the rain and found the fire pit roaring with tea and fresh water (and Vitamin C packs too yasssss!)... We sat mesmerized for quite some time until we warmed up :) Slept very soundly (possibly because of the wine lol but also the lovely linens) and woke up to yummy fresh pastries, fresh OJ, local coffee, and milk. Was a home run - we will be back.

Ami K.

Yelp
We had a wonderful overnight stay to celebrate our 4th anniversary. All the staff were so friendly and really made the entire experience such a delight. The couple massage is highly recommended-Julie and Willow are amazing! Check in early to get hold of your winery passport for complimentary tastings at selected wineries...awesome bonus! The location is perfect. Just off the main plaza/square away from the traffic; yet just a 5-10mins walk to great restaurants. Thank you again for a wonderful stay. Will definitely be back...

Yelp
I stumbled upon this spa by recommendation from a friend. The location was easy to find, and there was plenty of parking available. I was greeted by the woman working the front desk in a friendly manner and was offered a water, coffee or tea and waited in the courtyard for the therapists. The wait was short, we arrived about 15 minutes early for the appointment. My husband and I got ready for our massages and the therapists walked in. The therapists didn't start the timer until they started the massage. This was a pleasant surprise. I used to go to massage envy all the time and they start the timer at your appointment time no matter what and they do not pull you back to start getting ready for the massage until the appointment time. The time we paid for was spent 100% on being massaged! The therapists were wonderful, they spoke in a professional manner but still made the conversation feel personal. They asked my husband and I about any areas that we wanted focus on and also about any areas that we wanted them to avoid. They also asked about allergies and medical conditions they should be made aware of. This was a nice change up from being asked this by a slip of paper that makes one feel like they are applying for life insurance. Throughout the massage the both asked my husband and me if we were comfortable with the level of pressure and materials being used. They had the perfect balance of talking just enough to feel like we weren't being ignored and we weren't being bothered. This massage was also during covid times, they let asked us if we would like them to wears masks and informed us of their vaccination status when we asked. As someone who has 2 different major medical conditions, both effect my immune system, this was a huge comfort. Our therapists were Stephanie and Kassandra. The products the therapists used were very nice. We were also shown there additional products for purchase after the massage was over. My husband has horrible back pain from a torn anulus and the CBD cream we purchased (upon recommendation) from the spa helps a lot! We were also given a gift bag as we booked mother's day specials and the products inside were quite nice. I haven't used all of them yet but the CBD drops help my mind relax without making me fall asleep instantly. All of the products in the gift bag are available for purchase from the spa when I run out so I will be going back! The room was spotlessly clean and the décor was unassuming and unique. The smell of the room was beautiful but not overwhelming, just pleasant. The door was open to a patio outside that had a fountain. The fountain's added water noise was a welcome accompaniment to the relaxing music being played at the perfect volume. The location was also perfect. My Mother-In-Law had a massage right after my husband and me. We were able to walk to the plaza in downtown and shop and snack while waiting for her. The walk was literally less than 5 minutes. Overall the experience was worth the price and was excellent. If I ever need a place to stay in Sonoma I will book a room at the cottages to experience those as well.

Yelp
Perfect Social Distancing Getaway! My husband & I were desperately looking for somewhere to get away to for a night and I felt limited by not wanting to stay somewhere that would require walking through interior hallways & riding in elevators. I was about to give up after consistently striking out on Airbnb. Then I found the Cottage Inn & Spa! All the suites are either accessible from an outside door or from within the atrium. We choose the East Suite which had a double jacuzzi tub & a cute little garden surrounded by bamboo for privacy. The room had a fireplace with tea light candles built into the logs which was perfect for creating the ambiance of a fire without adding to the summer heat. Everyone we encountered was so lovely & helpful. We will definitely come back!

Lynn R.

Yelp
Weekend getaway and could not have asked for better service and accommodations! Stones throw away and as a local San Francisco resident can't wait to come back here!

Kimberly N.

Yelp
Very nice, cute, quaint, quiet. Nice, personable hospitality. They texted me the day of check in a couple hrs before check in time and let me know the room was available which was great, we were able to check in early. The people at the desk were super welcoming. Code was already programmed into the door so we could walk right into our room. They provided us with town info (restaurants , wineries, etc), informed us of the grounds features, housekeeping info, and let us know they'll be hanging a bag of fresh pastries at our door around 8am every am. The courtyard room (which I assume is the basic or pretty close) has a microwave , small fridge, coffee maker , tea maker. Four tea bags are provided, along with a small bag of coffee, Jam and butter for the pastries, two bottles of water, some glassware/utensils. For two nights, this will be great. Something to note, the courtyard room does not have a tv. Some rooms do have them, but not ours. So if you're looking to watch something , bring your earbuds to link to your phone/tablet or make sure your room you book has a tv if you want one. The people at the front desk saw us walking into town and chased us down to give us an umbrella because rain was possible; that was super nice of them. They do offer massage services and seemed like they had availability when I checked in since they offered (unfortunately, I don't have time to take advantage of their facility this time but hopefully next). Town square is a quick few min walk, it's right there! Great location, but also the sidewalk walking from inn to town is dark, so bring your phone for light at night if you need it. This is a small, cute and quaint place. If you're looking for over the top extravagance, this may not be your place. If you're looking for a nice inn experience close to town, this will be perfect.

Yelp
This review is for the Spa. Kathryn and Willow are amazing! Adorable women, excellent massage therapists. The aromatherapy room is beautiful and cozy, the quality of the massage was excellent. The grounds are very beautiful and the service in general is top notch. I will definitely stay at the inn for a weekend getaway!

John B.

Yelp
Great location. Quiet, relaxing, rejuvenating ambience. Extremely friendly and warm masseuses and staff (like, over the top guardian-angel, santa clause, best friend since childhood type of warm). Wonderful fire pit seating area, hot tea provided, amazing massages that leave no stone unturned (see that? see what I did there? With, with the stone thing? Hot stones? Yessss sir. The massages are on point). Plus, as many people have pointed out, you are literally a 3-4 minute walk from the beautiful, picturesque town square. I will absolutely be back, to take special care of my back. :) Ha! I did it again. Maybe these guys have a 'comedy' courtyard onsite where I can set up some chairs and do stand up for people after their massage. ;)

L. Marie V.

Yelp
Wonderful retreat. I'm thrilled to find a place that is not the best western horror o had at Christmas. This establishment is professional and courteous. I met the owner one day outside last year. I am so glad I was able to do a solo stay here to rest.thru Hotel Tonight app. Godsend for me.

Art O.

Yelp
We stayed in the Chapel Room to celebrate our anniversary. We parked right outside when we arrived and were kindly greeted by the staff. The room was fine and cozy. But there was sound from the water fountain in the plaza during the night so if you're a light sleeper, you might want to wear some ear plugs. One of the best parts of this place is the quiet areas throughout that you can hang and plan your next. They have a mediative quality about them. Another plus is that it's off the main square but super close so you get the best of both worlds. The continental breakfast was a nice touch in the morning as well.

Molly K.

Yelp
Highly recommend! We stayed in the Acacia suite which was so romantic and the perfect amount of space to relax and unwind. The tub with jets and tealight candle fireplace were both perfect ambience. We also got a couples massage with Stephanie and Julie who were amazing. The front desk staff were so friendly and helpful, even offering to take a picture of us before we went out to dinner. Every day they brought fresh pastries to the room too which was a nice touch: We would absolutely come stay again, and would even come back for day trips too just for the massages.

James O.

Yelp
Perfect place to stay. Feels like a Mediterranean villa with nice relaxing courtyards to relax in. Quiet hotel and has a nice luxury boutique feel about the whole place. Pastries on your door at 8am is a very nice touch too. Love this place

Adrian M.

Yelp
Top five things you'll care to know: 1) WOW, such nice, caring service. Upon check-in, we got the keys and a mini tour about the room, the grounds, and info about the breakfast. 2) Breakfast is so cute and good. Pastries, coffee, orange juice, milk - all included and all in your room in a nicely pre-set table. 3) Nice rooms and nice linens. We had the North and South Suite. The North suite has a kitchen and a big living room area. 4) I'm not a fan of grout...I know...I'm weird. There are giant tiles and giant lines of grout in some areas (carpet in others) so this kind of freaked me out haha. 5) Don't judge me for #4. The spa services were really nice. Willow - you helped my shoulder so much!

Madhuri K.

Yelp
This was our second stay at the cottage in and spa. The staff is very friendly - 5 stars. We stayed at the south suite both times. It's a large suite with a sitting living room area with a small table and a bedroom and patio and bathroom. Pros: we were greeted enthusiastically and called when our room was ready early. comfortable sitting area with extra blankets, fireplace, 2 heaters and they gave us a space heater. Coffee and tea available and pastries in the morning. Again, the staff is pretty great- eager to answer any questions and print out maps to help you get anywhere you want to explore. Cons: they no longer have heating pads on the bed - and the bedroom gets quite cold while the living room area gets toasty quickly. The wall heater in the bedroom felt ineffective. The shower in the bathroom - the nozzle worked but you had to hold it. You couldn't attach it to anything. This made for an extremely uncomfortable shower. You could take a bath- but in this draught that felt really wasteful. Most bed and breakfasts provide an actual breakfast - this is pastries and cereal. Our neighbors (we shared a wall in our living room) were VERY loud. We heard blaring music and their conversation until at least 10:30 (we asked at 10 for them to turn it down) and finally just put on white noise to try to drown it out. Not a relaxing stay - and don't feel eager to come back.

Christopher M.

Yelp
Everything about this place was perfect. The room and facilities were great and the staff were lovely. I would (and will) recommend this place to anyone. Thank you for a really wonderful stay.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I just stay here and absolutely LOVED it! We stayed in the Alta suite which is a second level with vaulted ceilings. It was bigger than we expected and decorated so cute! We loved the giant bathtub with jets in it, the Sonoma's best coffee provided in the room with the coffee maker, and the delicious fresh 8 am pastries delivery. The staff members were so kind and helpful! The couples massage was absolutely amazing! My partner got the deep tissue and I got the wellness massage, and we both felt like they were perfect for what we needed. The location is a couple of blocks from Sonoma's downtown square, which made it perfect to explore, shop, and eat. If you're there during the summer on a Tuesday, grab a blanket and head over to the Farmers market from 5-8. So many food and drink vendors and live music. The ONLY downside was that the beautiful fireplace in the room didn't work very well. It kept going in and out when we turned it out. It might have been the really old remote that seemed to be on its last leg. Other than that, this far exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be returning next time we visit!! You won't regret staying here!

Yelp
We stayed 3 nights as part of our honeymoon, and the cottage inn was by far our favorite part of it so far. We stayed at the vineyard view suite that is on the 2nd floor. It had jacuzzi tub, shower, king bed, couch area, table for two that opened out on the roof. A part of it that gets overlooked but is literally the best part is the complimentary wine pass! There's a list of 15-20 vineyards and you and your significant other can each have a free tasting at all of the vineyards! I didn't realize that this really saved us some money-because wine tasting can get expensive. A lot of other b&bs just give you the two for one, but this was free. Although most of the wineries are further away, uber or lyft is in the area and most of them are clumped together so you can plan your days out. The people working there were very nice and very helpful. They gave us great suggestions on planning our days out and were very helpful. Disclaimer: room did not have a TV, which was fine for us, but a lot of people that might be important to. I'm not sure if the other rooms had one. I wish we would have stayed more nights!

Yelp
This inn was recommended to us by a local friend, and we were so pleasantly surprised by this cozy unique little place. It is located just a few blocks off the beaten path. Very quiet and close to the square. We stayed in a small suite that was just right for us. The fridge was stocked with fresh goodies, the morning pastries made a perfect breakfast, and the hospitable staff made us feel right at home. We will definitely stay here when we return.

Yelp
Great location, Great place, the suites are like small apartments with full kitchens. Good heating (we were there in the winter) and a gas fireplace! The goodies they bring for breakfast are awesome - they have milk and OJ in the fridge for you. You can easily walk over to the Sonoma overlook trail for a nice hike, and hit Vella Cheese right around the corner on the way back. Awesome!

Yelp
My girlfriend and I treated ourselves to a couples massage for our 6 year anniversary at the Cottage Inn and Spa. This place was amazing! It was both of our first times getting a massage and the Katherine's (or Katherine Squared) made it very special for us. We'll definitely be back very soon!

Yelp
Simply heavenly-- beautiful grounds, fresh pastries in the morning, fruit+OJ+milk+tea/coffee already in the room, complimentary wine tastings at wineries, within walking distance to Sonoma Plaza...Oh man, I want to live there. The best part of our stay? The upgrade! At check-in, we were informed that we were staying in the colossal Mission Suite instead of our reserved Courtyard Room. Guess a Thursday-Saturday stay in the off season is not all that popular...

Yelp
Great service, cute hotel and great location (totally walkable to the plaza, but yet extremely quiet in your room). The room was extremely large and comfortable (Mission Suite--HUGE with sitting area, bed area, full kitchen, shower, sink, toilet, huge whirlpool tub. It's like one big room, though, so if you're sharing it, there's no privacy between the living room and bedroom). Got the $199/night last minute special so that made the value totally worth it. IF it was full price, I'm not sure I'd say that it was worth the value (~$400/night or something). Everything was super clean. There was OJ, coffee, milk in the fridge--full kitchen gear and some fruits in the fruit basket. They only downside: Breakfast was simple, overly stale pastries (2 stale croissants and 1 dry muffin) that were less than memorable. When they say they provide breakfast, I would argue that they provide something slightly edible but make sure you have an alternate plan for breakfast, unless you like pastries that can bounce off the counter. There's a neat central like area in the back that they have a fire going at night. Just a nice way to end the night--you can bring some of the wine you purchased along the way or just sit and be mesmerized by the fire. They offer massages on-site, but you have to book in advance because the therapists are not on-site unless you have an appointment. There's no specific parking lot but street parking wasn't a problem and once you park, you have no reason to drive since it's so accessible. Totally awesome hide-away inn in Sonoma. Regular price seems pricey but if a) you can take advantage of a special or b) price isn't an issue--head straight there on your next trip to Sonoma!

Yelp
Cottage Inn and Spa feels like it literally popped out of a story book. it's too good to be true! Got a great living social deal and stayed here awhile ago, and still remember it very well. Wonderful ambiance, delicious pastries delivered to our door in the morning, a cozy breakfast patio and view, artistic fireplaces, perfect proximity to the Sonoma plaza, OMG.....I will never run out of wonderful things to say about this place! Still dreaming about the next time I could go back there.....such a gem!

Yelp
Not much more I can add on top of the other amazing praise.. but to sum it up - FANTASTIC. Not only is the location great - you can walk right to the plaza - but the grounds are so beautiful you might not want to leave. The massage services are great, as is the rest of the staff. Everything is very clean, with a very peaceful/cozy atmosphere. Its definitely more than an "inn" - as mentioned in another review, it really is a "retreat". 6 stars!

Yelp
I had a massage by Willow- and I can say that it was the BEST massage I've ever had. I have massages in Thailand, Bali- and Other Spas- but this was the by far the best experience out of all of them. The decor is beautiful and the ambiance is relaxing.

Yelp
My wife and I recently stayed here for our honeymoon and absolutely loved it. The atmosphere was very romantic, with dimmers on every light and an oversized jacuzzi tub in the room. We had cereal with fresh fruit each morning, with pastries delivered from a local bakery. They had free wifi with good consistent signal, helpful staff, and lots of resources for local wineries and restaurants (including menus for most everywhere in the Sonoma Plaza). I did one main compaint... we were in the Chapel Suite, which is right along the main hallway, so we heard everyone walking by as they came and went. We just turned up our music a little louder and were fine. Even with that, this wonderful little Inn is well deserving of five stars.

Yelp
Wow! I can't say enough amazing things about the Cottage Inn! First of all, what great value for an incredible cottage! I stayed at the Courtyard Room for two nights and it totaled about $330. Even though it was the smallest room available, you get plenty of privacy and the room itself is so pleasant! The staff is really friendly and helpful. You can't beat the location of the Cottage Inn! It's literally not even two blocks away from the center plaza. Because it's so centrally located, you can walk to all the major restaurants and even some wineries. Every morning, you wake up to fresh pastries (not gluten free), fruit, milk, juice, coffee and tea. Each room has a full kitchen, in case you want to cook. The only down-sized was the cost of bike rentals available. I think it's about $30/day. If only, we could rent them per hour. I would recommend The Cottage Inn to anyone who is visiting Sonoma and I would certainly stay there again!

Yelp
My wife and I had a great experience a the Cottage Inn & Spa. We stayed one night. We were greeted by Bunky who was very friendly and gave us a lot of information about the town and where to eat and drink. We left our car parked and walked to dinner and around the quaint town. Our room was very nice and quiet. we will definitely come back.
