My close friend from home was in town for a conference, and I was excited to show him the nicest place in town. So I took him here, showed him the place, and bought him a drink.
Food poisoning: I'm almost sure my close friend got food poisoning here as we had exactly the same food and drink the entire night (I was DD) and the only difference was his drink, the gin martini with the olives, so we narrowed it down to that, especially the olives (yes, it is possible for olives to go bad. I didn't think so either until I looked it up, which caused more concern). We should have been suspicious when they said they didn't have any martini glasses and it took a long time for them to make the drink. It also came out in a small plastic cup which felt off.
I didn't realize how bad it was until I met back up with him later the next day. Even as I was making the phone call to try to report this to a manager here, he was still vomiting. His symptoms were even worse earlier in the day causing him to have to leave the conference early on.
I was able to reach someone in security on the hotel side, who then followed up with an email including management on the bar/lounge side (separate companies). They asked for details, copy of the receipt, etc. and I provided all that promptly. I expected prompt attention to be paid to this and for adjustments to be made at the very least. Sadly, I didn't even hear back from anyone on the bar/lounge side. I followed up multiple times over the course of multiple weeks to the point that I gave up, and it has now been over a month.
I much prefer giving credit where it is due, but in this case I felt obligated to share this experience. It really did ruin my friend's special visit from the east coast to hang with me here. I informed the staff as soon as I could in the hopes that this would prevent anyone from going through the same thing, and I'm publishing this review for the same reason.
