All of 2018’s New Orleans Restaurant Closures | Eater New Orleans

"A charming Prytania Street breakfast-and-lunch cafe near Touro Hospital that became a neighborhood breakfast standard is permanently closing next week; the restaurant’s story included the death of Chef James “Coulis” Leeming less than two years after opening and his wife Heather Leeming continuing to run the restaurant until the announced closure." - Eater Staff

Hidden gem in Shintomicho. Worth the detour!! For lunch you can get either a pasta set for 1300¥, or a fish/meat as a main for 1500¥. The salad that comes with the lunch set is nothing like I’ve had before! It’s a discovery of flavors in itself, with different dressings to try and hidden ingredients at the bottom of the plate. Wow. We ordered a side of pasta for 500¥, which was very tasty and cooked al dente. The bread that comes with the meal is all homemade (which we bought to take home too!) and differs each day apparently! If you want to buy some bread you must ask the owner. She will happily show you what you can take home. The skin on the chicken was so crispy you ate it all. It came with well seasoned root vegetables on a bed of rice. We finished our meal with a coffee and the lovely owner gave us some chocolate truffles presented beautifully on a stylish stone. Speaking of, the dishes they used were also very stylish. The restaurant itself is gorgeous with dry flowers and plants. It has simple design with earthy textures and materials. Thank you for the experience and we will come again very very soon! Will tell all my friends about this amazing place :)

To the beautiful human being who recommended Coulis as a lunch spot to my wife, thank you!! It was a great meal at an affordable price. At lunch time there are two options: with out reservations, they offer three lunch set options—a chicken, a fish, or a pasta—and with a reservation, they offer a multi course option. They also offer a solid wine list.

Amazing. Super tasty food for lunch with a very reasonable priced fixed menu. You choose between pasta, fish and meat. The salad comes with the menu, the coffee and dessert have decent prices as well. Fantastic.

Small, but great food! Overly crowded at lunchtime, but still worth the wait.
