Council Oak Steaks & Seafood is located inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. They are open Sun - Thu 5PM - 10PM, Fri 5PM - 12AM, and Sat 4PM - 12AM. Reservations required.
My friends and I stopped in for the first time last Wednesday, and the experience was thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish.
We began with the crispy calamari and shrimp, as well as the wagyu meatballs. The calamari offered a unique twist, but sometimes basic is better. Enjoyable overall, though I've had better in Atlantic City. The meatballs were exceptionally tender and full of flavor.
Next, I tried the New England Clam Chowder, topped with crispy pancetta and oyster crackers. It was easily the best clam chowder I've ever had.
For dinner we split the 22 oz bone-in ribeye, 10 oz filet mignon, lobster mac & cheese, and au gratin potatoes. Both steaks were expertly cooked, and the sides complimented them perfectly. My only complaint is that the ribeye arrived lukewarm rather than hot.
We ended with the tiramisu; light, silky, and delicious. The presentation was original and added a nice touch to a classic dessert.
Service was solid. Our server was attentive and helpful with the menu, and the manager stopped by to check on us.
