Counter Cafe

Came here for brunch while we were visiting from out of town. The eggs Benedict was good. The restaurant was super small. It is very dinner style where you sit at the counter while they cook your food right in front of you. The staff was really friendly and service was quick. I rate it 4 stars because it was a little pricey for the quality of food.

The plates of food were so big! My boyfriend got the steak and eggs plate, and I would definitely try that out if you can! We also tried the blueberry pancake together, and it was huge! We didn't think it tasted much like blueberries, though, even though there were tons of blueberries in it. I got the crab cake eggs benedict, which was yummy.

Initially planned on going to 24 Diner but they had a 40 minute wait so we walked to Counter Cafe. Got a shared table immediately outside, which was ok on a sunny day, but you have to eat awfully fast or breakfast gets cold. Fresh squeezed OJ was great, Breakfast Sandwich good, wouldn't recommend Corner Benedict, I didn't care for the presentation, sauce or pastrami.

This was the best eggs Benedict I have ever had. The flavor was so perfect. Staff was on point with the coffee refills. The whole atmosphere gave a good small town vibe and the food was truly exceptional. A must have for a delicious breakfast.

Great little diner a short walk from downtown. Love watching food made at the counter. Small seating area (maybe 40 total in and out?). Everything looked good. Especially impressed that they were cutting fruit to order for dishes. We also tried the red quinoa bowl which was amazing.

What a pleasant hole in the wall this is. Austin has changed a lot over the years but a lot of established businesses retained the charms of the old days including the Counter Café Don’t let the outside deceive you, it is full of goodness inside. You will be greeted by friendly staff upon entering. Breakfast is served all day until closing time at 3pm. Personal favourite: Southern Benedict

I love love this place. I don’t even live in Austin and I think about it fondly and how I can’t wait to go back. Allllll the food was good! Coffee fresh and delicious. Service fast and friendly. Perfectly gluttonous breakfast food while still having healthy options. Counter Cafe 👏🏼 👏🏼

I love coming to this place for breakfast! Whether it's for steak and eggs or biscuits and gravy or any other thing...its wonderful! I have learned to come slightly early on weekend mornings as it does tend to crowd up later on in the day.
