CCBK is a new brew pub in Bellaire that opened a few weeks ago. My friend and I came here for dinner the evening after the official opening and it wasn't busy. It is located in The Bellaire Triangle Shopping Center a few doors down from Blood Brothers BBQ
Since they are new, they don't have many beers on tap right now (only 5 at the time of this writing). They also have cider, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks including coffee. I didn't notice it until after the fact, but they have a Nitro Cold Brew Coffee and a Nitro Viet Iced Coffee which sounds amazing!
We opted to do beer flights. Since there's only 5 beer options right now, we got to try most of them. I had everything except the IPA and my friend had everything except the Helles. I really enjoyed the Pale Ale (Thanks a Lot, Erchick). My friend enjoyed the IPA (Copy/Paste #1).
Food:
The Common Fries - The fries are made in house. These are very spicy because it has kimchi, sriracha, and sriracha mayo (along with green onions, cilantro, and furikake). I tried a few pieces that had a small amount of sauce on it. I knew it was going to be too spicy for me. They were so flavorful, but the tiny amount of sauce on the fries kicked my butt! If you love spice, order these fries immediately.
Fried Fish Taco - My friend ordered this and really liked it. It looked really good, but I didn't try any.
The Common Burger - Comes with two beef patties, cheddar, fried shallots, and house dill pickles. It's pretty simple, but very delicious! The bread was so buttery and soft. You can make it The CounterCommon Burger by adding toppings like kimchi or a fried egg. Each additional topping is a $1.50 so choose wisely.
Bread Pudding -I don't believe this is on the menu, but our server suggested it. It's actually quite small, but it was just the right amount of food because we were pretty full from dinner. It is very good!
Our server was nice, but a little slow at times. I noticed a different server was a bit slow with the table next to us, so they're probably still working out the kinks. We were there pretty close to closing so we ended up closing out with a different server. Both of them were very friendly. This place is still pretty new so I imagine they are going through growing pains. CCBK definitely has potential and I hope they do well because the beer and food are really good!
