Country Club Lima Hotel - Hotel Review | Condé Nast Traveler

"Built in 1927, the Country Club Lima Hotel has long been the go-to stay for visiting heads of state. From its historic architecture, to the collected antiques and artwork housed throughout, the entire estate oozes sophistication with an elevated country club aesthetic. Its 83 rooms have been updated so that their traditional, colonial style—think dark mahogany furniture, high ceilings, and ornate headboards—is complimented by modern amenities, like a whirlpool bathtub in some rooms, and designer toiletries. Plus, the property, which is located in the upscale business district of San Isidro, has a full-service spa, small plunge pool, gym, 24-hour business center, and a lobby bar that serves what some say are the best pisco sours in the city."

Country Club Lima Hotel | Best places to stay in Lima

"Standing majestically in one of Lima’s more opulent neighbourhoods, this Mediterranean-style, grand Twenties town house channels all the pomp and circumstance of the Spanish viceroyalty. There are wood-beamed ceilings, authentic colonial-era paintings and a demure wood-lined bar that’s been stirring up masterful pisco sour cocktails for decades. The airy patio restaurant, Perroquet, serves excellent ceviche. The hotel’s central location – between Lima’s historic downtown and the dining hotspots of Miraflores – makes it convenient too. Guests can also enjoy special rates at San Isidro’s private 18-hole Lima Golf Club. " - Alex Robinson

Cannot say enough good things about this hotel. Loved the atmosphere and public areas, and the breakfast was probably the best I have ever experienced at a hotel. The English Bar was fantastic. Great atmosphere and cozy setting. All staff were exceptional in delivering top class service.

Beautiful hotel. Location not so great for tourists. Shops, laundromats not close by. Supermarkets ~12min walk. Great service from the staff. Good breakfast options. 6 -7 types of juices! Huge room and large bathroom that could easily have fitted a double basin. The room (364) was odd in that the windows were made of opaque glass...can't see anything through them. Can't open them either. Wonder what's on the other side.

The name is a bit misleading, as the hotel is not surrounded by gardens (the golf course is across a busy road). However, the building does feel more intimate than most luxury hotels in the city. The location is not ideal. On the one hand, the golf course provides some open space (though most rooms don’t face it). On the other hand, the hotel is relatively far both from the historic center and from the oceanfront.||I chose a room in the tower, which turned out to be a mistake. To reach it, you have to go through a tiring maze of stairs. And the so-called tower offers no view at all — the windows face the walls of neighboring buildings.||The staff were formally polite. However, since making my reservation nine months earlier, I had been asking about the option of a late check-out at 2:30 pm. After several reminders, I was told that my rate included late check-out. Upon arrival, however, I learned that this could only be confirmed after breakfast on the day of departure. In other words, around 10:00 am I would find out whether I could stay until 2:30 pm or would have to leave by noon. This caused me considerable frustration, which the hotel staff did not seem concerned about.||The hotel restaurant clearly has a reputation as a refined spot, also frequented by non-guests. This reputation is based mainly on the prices of the meals.||All in all, it is a fairly solid hotel, but the overall experience was ultimately disappointing.

We spent several nights at the hotel. I would like to give special recognition to the porter Eduardo who was exceptionally polite, helpful with directions within the building and has a warm smile. We enjoyed being in a historical site with exquisite architecture and artwork. |Nancy

Overall, the hotel was incredible—very clean with beautiful bedrooms. The hotel is over 100 years old and very well kept. Tye front desk and the bellman were very welcoming. The food needs to be improved. The wait staff was not good. Not sure I would come back.

Customer service and hospitality at this hotel are top-notch. The room was impeccably, cleaned and staged. The linens were crisp and comfortable. Bath sheets were plush and very absorbent. My suite was impressive and cleaned daily. I especially enjoyed the aromatic bubble bath with lit candle. One hiccup, the hotel hosted an event on the last night of my stay, an inconvenience which might have been avoided had I received advanced notice to facilitate necessary accommodations.

Amazing experience, huge comfortable room and patio, and friendly, courteous staff. My husband and I felt like royalty the whole time. The fitness and pool area are small but worked well. The lobby is stunning. Everything in our room was perfect. The spa was beyond luxurious and I got the best massage I’ve ever had!

Classy and Fancy hotel. Nice restaurant and English bar. There is interesting art all over the place which is cool. The staff makes you feel extra special.
