I don't normally give mediocre reviews or even less than that. But, I really expected a little more... I asked for a mojito in a Cuban/Mexican place, and they were out of mojitos??? It's in a nice area and the place has a beautiful old bar. Maybe next time. The drinks were just as expensive as the meals...and I frequent the nices bar in Nola. I'm not sure if they saw me coming.

Stumbled in here after a few hours drinking on bourbon st. Was so hot and hungry was thankful for the AC and fast service.Chicken nachos were the star of the show here!! I got tacos that were stuffed full and pretty good. Wasn’t too busy and nice atmosphere with decor and music.

Google
Very nice Mexican restaurant hidden near Royal Street. Not our first choice, but we ended up here with no wait. A nice sit down and order type of restaurant. Salsa and chips before we ordered. Abita Amber (bottle) and a margarita (blended) were very good. Only three beers on tap. Chicken nachos, Shrimp fajitas and fried Yuca pictured. Not the best ever, but very good. Prices are higher than some, but in line with the French Quarter prices elsewhere.

Google
We both had the special for the day which was three enchiladas - one of each - cheese, shredded chicken, and shredded beef. The beef was brisket and I wish I had three of those. The chicken and cheese were good but the beef was outstanding. The rice was ok but not very flavorful. We also ordered queso which was a Blanco queso and very tasty. Chips and salsa were offered when seated. Chips were warm and the salsa was tasty too.

Google
Had beef and pork hard tacos, which were really great. Tried ordering ribs, but they ran out. Got a small basket of undercooked and greasy nachos. They ran out of table nachos so couldn't get a refill while waiting over an hour for food to arrive. That wasn't too bad, but when friend ordered "queso", the cheese was delivered in a small taco bowl without the accompanying nachos. Funny and sad at the same time. They should have offered a discount. Good food when it's available, but don't expect fast service.

Google
I wish could rate the food but I never got it! I ordered online. When I arrived about 15 mins after ordering my food wasn’t ready. I waited an additional 25 mins and still no food. People were walking in and leaving with their orders but not mine. I ask and got a generic answer that’s it’s almost ready. Ended leaving with no food since lunch break was over. Poor service and organization. Restaurant looked unorganized. Only 1 table was there that arrived after me and had their appetizers. Overall service was horrible so I won’t never go to this place again.

We waited for 20 mins after order and the server came back and said they were out of shrimp, calamari, and pork rib. We made another order and waited over 40 mins. Either they are short staff or the cook was slow. Avoid this restaurant. The wait is not worth it.

Google
This spot is an American Tex mex style place with a vibrant atmosphere and a full bar. The food was tasty and well cooked with some authentic flavor especially in their salsa verde. Their ropa Borja was lacking sauce but it was well done nevertheless. The drinks were a little weak but they were also good. I recommend this spot for anyone wanting a Tex mex meal.

Yelp
Christmas Day lunch stop. How can you go wrong with Mexican? Menu selection wasn't overly impressive and the prices were HIGH. Two tacos -- just tacos, no beans and rice accompaniment -- $12.95. Now, there was a nice serving of steak on the taco and it was nicely seasoned. But the toppings as you can see are so basic. Iceberg lettuce and diced tomato and onion. To call this "pico de gallo" is a stretch. And the cheese? Sigh. So mid. Oh and I added a side of black beans to my order of tacos for $2. Man, it's the smallest side of black beans I've ever seen at a Mexican restaurant. They taste good, but I could have passed. Salsa and chips were free. I can appreciate this since everything else had a charge. Like everything was priced a la carte. Anyway, salsa was a bit spicy and not in the most complimentary way, in my opinion. Hurricane drink was $12 (normally $15 but we came during HH). It definitely tastes of rum. It was decent but I should have for a margarita. If you want to taste your alcohol to know it's there...you will enjoy this drink. Lastly, we ordered the steak fajita salad -- $17.95 for steak on a bed of iceberg. The fajita veggies were there too. But for the price, it was nothing to write home about. Also, they don't ask what temperature you want your steak but luckily it's juicy and well seasoned. People called this spot authentic. I'd say that's the biggest insult to real authentic Mexican. Overpriced and basic. Service was better than described in other reviews. Our waitress was sweet and attentive. So, if you don't have any other options and this spot is nearby, I'd check it out, but nothing to rave about.

Yelp
Very good food the taste was great. The drinks were delicious and strong. The service was pretty good, I would say standard not too much personality. The salsa however was super spicy. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice if you sat up on the stage area! 9/10 would recommend. DR PEPPER RATING:0/10 didn't have any

Yelp
Oh no. I assume the margaritas are good or not sure why this place is open. The tacos were the least authentic I've ever had. Shrimp tacos with loads of lettuce and orange cheese on flour store bought tortilla? No bueno. The service was good but I wouldn't recommend the tacos.

Yelp
Ordered their meat stew (supposed to be better than the french Beef Bourguignon. The broth was excellent, however: portion was very small, slightly bigger than a cup of soup, 3 small potatoes and the tiny remains of what appeared to be onions. The meat was exhausted (devoid of taste & dry). The broth wasn't hot, only warm and for $19.95 it wasn't worth it. Service was slow but the waiter did apologized for it. Chips and salsa was good, but we needed water or beer and it took too long to get it. I attached a photo of a proper Beef Bourguignon, what they served was NOTHING like it.

Yelp
Authentic Latin food prepared and with traditional recipes. Polite service in authentic surroundings. A must dine!

Yelp
The food and the service was very good! The atmosphere was very fun! I would recommend this restaurant!

Yelp
The service and food in this place was really good. I was with a groans everyone enjoyed their meal. This was the first eating at the place.

Yelp
Really good food and excellent service. We ordered chicken tacos/enchiladas, steak fajitas, guacamole, margaritas, chips/salsa, and rice/beans on the side. Everything was delicious and arrived quickly. I look forward to eating here again.

Yelp
We stopped in here for a light meal. The shrimp mango quesadilla was yummy. My travel companion enjoyed his churros with the hot spiced chocolate dipping sauce. This was a charming place to sit and rest our feet before continuing our adventures. Recommended!

Yelp
Hidden gem! Where else can you find a Nicaraguan nacatamal in the French quarter. Friendly staff. Good value. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
We came for lunch during convention, The food was very pricey, the restroom was very dirty and most of all a roach fell from the ceiling onto our table. We ask for a manager and a woman came over and said her name was Myria and she was the owner, she had a really bad attuide and said (well this is the French Quarter roaches are everywhere. Well I can tell you she showed no concern and we will NOT be back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yelp
Of all the places I figured I'd eat at while in NOLA, I would not have guessed a Latinx one. Everything ordered was packed with flavor from the ceviche to the yuca. The ceviche had a good amount of shrimp and just spicy enough to make your lips tingle. The margaritas are large and in charge, they're also strong so beware!

Yelp
If you make it to this place, PLEASE order the bean dip appetizer. It comes with plantain chips. Sounded funny to me but, let me tell you, it was DELICIOUS! The drinks were pretty good and the service nice. But the chips and salsa and bean dip were worth the stop! Loved it!

Dana S.

Yelp
Awesome authentic Mexican food. Guacamole is the best, salsa can't get enough of. We usually order twice a week at work. Really nice professional workers. Fast delivery

Yelp
Had my birthday dinner here tonight and I just want to give a shout out to the staff for being so excellent and welcoming. Not only was the food delicious as I remembered, but they were kind enough to help serve my cake and the two-for-one margaritas were a thing of beauty. Thanks for helping to make it a happy and memorable night out.

Yelp
Searching for delicious Mexican food in New Orleans, this is the place to go. Phenomenal prices, and also not too crowded. I stopped by this establishment with my siblings, we were greeted by warm customer service and served some delicious salsa and chips. The salsa wasn't your typical plain jane tomato sauce with onions and tomato paste. This salsa had spice and zest! I ordered chicken fajitas as my main meal and I absolutely fell in love! They were beyond delicious!!! the taste of mesquite and lime, along with the delicious onions and peppers. The rice and beans also complimented each and every bite! This place was super delicious & I would highly recommend it! Enjoy!

Yelp
Terrible service...rude server. The food tasted disgusting and was cold. Would not recommend to eat at. Also the server, Mary, forgot every side that we ordered. After speaking with John, he helped us out and gave us a discount...very much appreciated.

HayTee J.

Yelp
I am reporting this place to the BBB because of not only bad service but the disgusting food that we had. Awful Service I feel that our particular server who needs to be trained on performing the duties of an actual server was not submitting our meal choices to the cook in a timely order. Why I say this? Because I watched him walk around the room and write whatever he was writing on our slip as the other server put in his customers meal choices ahead of us...and they came 10-15 minutes after us. Other server promptly brought cup of water to his customers, we never got that. other server made sure that his customers had all the dips/sauces for their meals, mines never came back to the table. We literally had to as the other server for things or get up from our seat to get the attention of our server. When we did get his attention, he seemed as though we were bothering him. This male server that wears eye glasses is the rudest, racist individual I've come across in a long time. Due to the bad service, a tip was not left and I left a review on the back of my receipt on my disappointment with the place. This was the first time he responded to our table, when we weren't there and he thought he was going to get a tip..the nerve. The server proceeded to give us the finger from the window, when we went back to confront him of his gesture (which I think surprised him), he yelled profanity at us and said that we "didn't know how to act". Mind you, during the terrible service, we didn't raise our voice..we actually were more silent because we were taken aback. Of course being that we (a party of two) were African American tourist, I took offense. I will say that we met his energy level outside the restaurant. He continued yelling at us on the street. The other server, who actually did his job had to get in between us because he was getting in our face. It was embarrassing, frustrating and my sister and I were infuriated. Bad Food....Bland, Rubbery, Disgusting 80% of my 1 star scoring is the food. I would not recommend this place to anyone. There is pita place a few blocks away that we did the night before, it was awesome. Try anything BUT THIS PLACE. FOOD IS UGH!!! If you are going to have a restaurant that specializes in a certain ethnic culinary dishes, then the research should be done to produce those meals. Word to all..if you are looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant, this is not it. I don't care that the servers and possibly the owner are of Indian descent, they probably love Mexican food, the problem is their poor replication of the dishes. The taco shell is what you get from the grocery store, it had that square shaped bottom, the rice has nooooooooo seasoning, just looking at it I can see that it was bad. Gave it a shot and it ate.....nasty; the chicken was suppose to be char-grilled I think, but tasted as though it was rubbed in charcoal...left for days on a used barbecue grill and the pina colada was watered down. Just awful.

Yelp
Really like this place. Has your traditional Tex-mex and some other specialty items. Cold beer and a good margarita. We got the queso and a quesadilla. Great chill atmosphere.

Yelp
Mexican food in NOLA was a nice change from the usual creole selections. I visited during the Christmas holiday and the establishment was decorative with a Christmas tree and holiday decor. We were greeted and seated right away with a smile. The waitress arrived with tortilla chips and salsa within minutes of seating. The salsa has a nice kick to it. We ordered steak tacos with one margarita/beer. The margarita was huge for the price. The steak was very chewy in my opinion however the taco was filled with lots of flavor, i.e. pico de gallo and cilantro. Be warned and read the menu, the steak tacos are priced individually higher than the beef and chicken tacos. We ended up spending $40 on four tacos and two drinks. Kinda pricey if you ask me.

Yelp
I had been New Orleans for a couple of days. Had experienced the full spectrum of eating establishments and was in mood for something quick and easy. I found it to be good and a good value. Not a fancy place but the taste was very good. Very good ingredients (tasty meats, fresh colorful veggies.) Could have used some cilantro but every cook does it differently. Makes the cut and does not disappoint. Waitress very friendly,

Yelp
This place was very close to our Airbnb and we decided to give it a shot on our last night. The food and drinks were honestly good--well, I've had better--but it was good enough. Because the food was average, I have to base my review on the service. the service was very disappointing. First, they ran out of chips, which I get, but because of this, they had to tell me that the chips and queso I wanted had to be cancelled, and furthermore, they couldn't serve us an appetizer that we really wanted (nachos). So we just ordered a few more drinks and put in our entré order. After ordering our entré, I feel things kind of flopped from there. The waitress basically ignored us during the 45 minutes it took to get our food delivered, whereas we had to legitimately go to the bar to get another round of drinks (we did try motioning her to us a few times prior), and at the bar we got scolded for not putting an order in with our waitress. After that, the bartender grabbed a lime with his bare hands to accommodate one of our beers, right after washing some tables mind you, and due to COVID, this was very dissatisfying to us. When we got back to our table, we only saw our waitress one more time to deliver our food, which was good, but again--very standard for a Mexican restaurant. I've definitely had better food. When we looked over at the table next to us (who arrived after us and got their food before us) and noticed their 5% tip, I knew I had to speak about my experience here. It wasn't just us. I mainly want to warn people about the service. If you're not in a hurry and are looking for average food, this place will do fine by you. But if you're like us, having to catch a early flight, or have things to do, and want food better than average, please try something different.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch. The food was okay. Not the best I've had but not the worst. I had the Cuban enchiladas.
google avatar

Yelp
Service was pretty awful. Waited 15 minutes for the waitress and chips. Waited another 10 minutes and went to the bar to order, was told they could only help me after people who showed up after us. Ugh ok. Waitress finally came over to table and took our order for drinks. Waited another 10 minutes and the 2 bar staff weren't taking any action so we left. Also it's hot in there because there is no AC. Two thumbs down.
google avatar

Brian S.

Yelp
We waited 15 minutes to be addressed by a waitress after sitting and waiting. We waited another 15 minutes to order drinks. We never received any drinks and the bartender was not even working on preparing them. We left after 30 mins of no service.

Yelp
NO LONGER A "RITE OF INITIATION" Back in the day, Country Flame was so sketchy that it was our rite of initiation for new trainees. If they didn't get nauseous a few hours after eating there they passed. The Flame was notorious for sticky tables, food smudges on the cutlery and mystery meat. The reek from cigarette smokers at the bar was so foul that it even permeated the napkins. NEW OWNERSHIP, UPGRADED QUALITY that even impressed my picky boss from Dallas who now requires that it be in our weekly lunch rotation. For me, I usually opt for the Honduran Enchiladas that are really two tostadas with meat (I prefer the molé beef) with pickled onions and jalapeños, topped with chipotle crema and cheese. The flavors are distinct, the preparation flawless. FREE CHIPS AND SALSA! And their house version is deliciously fruity and spicy hot!
google avatar

Shannon S.

Yelp
This was actually a pleasant surprise to find decent value good Tex-Mex in the French Quarter. For many years I had avoided this place assuming it was just another tourist trap for pathetic Texans that refuse to eat anything other than Tex-Mex but they actually do very flavorful food here that can put many places in Texas to shame. To be fair for many years Country Flame actually was a very sketchy tourist trap venue that didn't do much good but it has certainly evolved in offering quality flavorful food at a good value. They also expand beyond the typical Tex-Mex options and offer a nice selection of other foods from Cuba and other parts of Latin America which are also executed quite well. It is a rare thing in NOLA fo find a place that had descended so low in the myths, legends and lore of the Quarter to redeem itself and rise from the ashes to achieve delicious redemption.

Yelp
I've been driving by Country Flame every day for 6 years now and until recently, had never eaten there. In fact, as long as I can remember, there has always been a restaurant at this location; but I am unsure how long Country Flame has occupied this spot. The sign outside reads Mexican, Spanish & Cuban specialties, and since I was in the mood for a Cuban sandwich, I decided to give them a try. I was immediately impressed on how good the air conditioner was working on this particularly hot July day, and I'm willing to bet that it was 66-68 degrees inside; which is perfect for me. I was also impressed as to how clean the restaurant was, as the floors looked spotless, as did all the tables. The "Spanish" music was just loud enough to set the mood but not too loud so that normal conversations could be held. The "old school" wooden bar was amply stocked and there was a big flat screen t.v. hanging on the wall so that you could eat or drink at the bar and still watch the tube. The restaurant seats approximately 40-50 people with a few additional tables on the patio; but who wants to eat on a patio in New Orleans on a hot July day? I especially liked the metal stamped ceiling but am unsure as to how old it truly is. We were seated immediately and greeted by a cordial server shortly thereafter. In my opinion, our server could have been a little friendlier, but she was cordial at best. Not rude at all, but she was merely "all about business". She took our drink order, brought us some chips and salsa and came back to take our order; all in a very systematic approach. The chips were definitely fresh and were almost certainly made on site, but I am not sure if the salsa was prepared fresh or came from a jar. Not bad at all, but not stellar. For the record, we ate every crumb. I ordered a Cuban sandwich and was a little disappointed. The sandwich itself tasted very good and was pressed perfectly, but there was not nearly enough pork on it; and I left a little bit hungry. Big appetites will not be completely satiated by the Cuban sandwich, so order a side item or 2 if you are a big eater like I am. I would definitely consider going back one day in the future, but there are so many other spots on my "places to try" list, that it will probably be a long time before I do so. All in all, this place is A-Okay, but I think it needs a little refining for a 4th star.
google avatar

Kevin Y.

Yelp
Service was great, chips and salsa were pretty food too. We went for Cuban dishes though. I ordered Puerco Frita (fried pork) which are typically served with generous portions but here they are small pieces and not many of them. The tostones, yuca frita, black beans & rice were very good though (so made up for the meager portion of meat.
google avatar

Kevin R.

Yelp
The food is good. The service is a bit slow. I enjoyed the fajita but my colleague loved the Honduran Enchiladas. Recommend it for a nice lunch.

Yelp
Lovely place right off the bat. If you're looking for a quick spot to run to off the mainstream traffic of New Orleans. Country Flame is right there behind you. Music was a plus!

Davey N.

Yelp
Ordered a whole order via doordash, they not only sent the wrong sandwich,i call them and the person that picks up literally argues with me abiut the sandwich. I ordered a cubano that comes w/grilled ham, cheese, pickles. And an order of tostones and the dasher drops me this dry ham sandwich with no dressing with a bag of chips. I asked the person to give my contact their manager named mayra so this can be resolved because I'm absolutely not okay with obnoxious workers, who don't own up the mistake. And To the manager mayra,if you can't get uppit staff in order. You're losing money from oaying customers.

Yelp
This is a hidden jewel. Totally Low brow but great spanish food- Cuban, Mexican, Argentinian, you name it. It's the ONLY authentic Cuban sandwich that I've ever found in Louisiana using real Cuban bread instead of French bread. There are probably a million DOH violations, but the food is delicious and the service is great so just close your eyes and ears to everything else. The prices are downright cheap, through we went twice during Mardi Gras and they had a "specially priced" menu. Even with that it was still a super great value. Dress is SUPER casual. (I can't vouch for seat cleanliness,) so jeans for me. It's part of its charm. Seriously great food, hidden between 2 very expensive tourist draws and they'll fix you eggs almost anytime. Wine and beer available.
google avatar

Michele P.

Yelp
Welp. Someone warned me. But when you work downtown and only get 30 min for lunch you tend to take risks. I realllly like Mexican inspired cuisine. I like it classy and dressed up, like at a Johnny Sanchez, and I like it down and dirty and delicious, like Taqueria Sanchez (WB). I figured if this fell somewhere on the spectrum, I would have a new spot. The menu items look great online, so I ordered the Honduran Enchiladas to go. The woman who answered the phone was pleasant and professional. She said it would be ready in 10 minutes. I have walked past this place at least once a week for the past 6 months, and I can tell you that even though it looked dark and depressing from the outside, it was equally dark and depressing inside. They were bringing my order out just as I arrived (hot and ready, yeah!) so I paid and left. My mouth was watering. I was hot and ready. Get to my desk, opened the bag. Chips in a brown paper bag (I love when restaurants give you chips and salsa)...and...salsa? It was pretty watery, but Panchita's has a loose salsa and it's so flavorful you could eat it like soup. So I give it a try. No flavor. At all. Maybe they ran out of salsa so they just mixed some tomato sauce with water (I'm starting to think this is a recurring theme with downtown restaurants [ahem: Madam's ketchup]. No biggie. I have my eyes on the prize and I'm saving my calories for the color and taste explosion that will be a Honduran enchilada. I set the sadness soup aside and open my styrofoam container. Oh my. Oh dear. I think a terrible mistake has been made. Someone in the kitchen stepped on an order of Honduran enchiladas and then puked on it, and they accidentally gave it to me instead of throwing it out. GIANT chunks of carrot, massive slices of red onion (none of this was bite size. I think they cut the onion 4 times then pickled it). Cold, painful ground protein based matter in a non-descript gravy. But I am nothing if not hungry, so I figured I would at least TRY it. I had paid for it at that point and did not have time to get anything else. I have certainly had ugly food with good taste. I am deeply grieved to report this was not one of those situations. I actually took 2 bites and threw the rest out. There's a lot of great places to get salmonella in the French Quarter, but this isn't one of them. I can only surmise the name "Country Flame" comes from your next trip to the water closet after partaking of a meal at this establishment.

Yelp
Good food, the black beans and rice were very authentic, the salsas were good but the best part of this place was the service! Can tell the whole place was ran chill but on it! No jerks. Kara our waitress was on point, suggested all our fave dishes and took care of us while busy herself. Went back again for more beans & rice while in town!!
google avatar

Eric K.

Yelp
Not to take anything away from this place but we came in because the oyster place down the street had an outrageous line. The waitress was very nice throughout our visit. We ordered the fried Yuca and shrimp fajitas. We had never had Yuca before and it turned out to be a hit - was a lot like French fries. The shrimp fajitas came out in cast iron and were really fresh. Chips and salsa were served right as we sat down. A big downside was that they were out of fried oysters. If you are staying in New Orleans for a while and need to switch up your menus for a night this is a great place to do it!

Erin R.

Yelp
Erin slaps: 9/10 Randomly found this place walking up a side street and I couldn't have been happier! I had the beef soft tacos and they were amazing! It's a very low-key place off the busy streets but you will leave happy and full!

Yelp
We happened upon this restaurant as we were out walking in the area. I had the ropa vieja and it was very good. It was our 4th day in the FQ and I was wanting something different and this place hit the spot. The dishes are not your typical mexican, they are also cuban. very yummy

C. A. G.

Yelp
Margarita and meal were equally awful. Pork was hard dry nuggets, rice option was white and tostones were crunchy but so dry on inside and not flavor. I tool a few bites and had to get check and leave. Pass on this place.

Amari H.

Yelp
Terrible and RUDE service. Didn't catch her name, but she had blonde hair and appeared to be intoxicated. She spilled our order of queso, and used her hand to adjust the taco shell bowl it was in. When we asked if she could take some or part of it off, she was extremely condescending and rude. She ended up giving us 10% off of it, which was fine but it's still the principal. She also dropped our debit card on the ground when going to close out the check and another group of customers had to tell her she dropped it. I hate speculating but it really appeared like she was intoxicated or something and it made the experience that much worse. The food was okay, but it was drowning in grease. I was extremely disappointed and will never be back.

Yelp
Walked into this place at 8:30pm on a Thursday night looking to get a bite to eat. My Girlfriend needed to use restroom right away and I ordered water from waiter. He continued to look at me and asked me again what I wanted. I said water and menus again and he wouldn't leave. My girlfriend came out of bathroom and spoke to them in Spanish. They accused us of just coming in to use bathroom. Rude people work here and when I can Ill add their pictures. This is a NO STAR REVIEW.

Yelp
Locals waiting on Krewe du Vieux and passed by this place on the way to another well liked restaurant. The vibe inside looked like fun, (there was a dj playing Celia Cruz), so we decided we wanted Mexican food! The waitress suggested Honduran enchiladas which were good. A couple of friends joined us unexpectedly and the waitress accommodated us! They ordered some tamales and a cuban sandwich, both delicious.. but the Cuban stole the show! We ordered two more to go! The churros were also legit! Will definitely tell others about this hidden gem.

Yelp
So, we stopped here twice during the four days I was in New Orleans. The first time was our first full day. We'd been out too long on Bourbon Street the night before, it was middle of the afternoon and I was starting to wind down. Country Flame is an unusual name for a restaurant that features Cuban, Spanish and Mexican cuisine. And, I suppose this type of food is something you don't think about when you go to New Orleans. But, the Spanish did have control of the city prior to the French, and the architecture around the French Quarter has a strong Spanish influence. So, why not? The first time I went, I had a Cuban coffee. It was among the best I've ever had. Our last night in the city we decided for a late dinner at Country Flame. I had their Tamale with black beans and rice. The tamale is more of a South American version - larger than what we typically think of in the US, and it was wrapped in a banana leaf. It was quite good. The chips and Salsa they serve before you order were good - the chips were warm and the salsa had a nice bite to it. We also had an order of Guacamole which I thought was only okay - it was too smooth - as if they ran it through a blender. But, the experience was great. The server was outstanding and made the night special.

Yelp
Worst service of my life. 20 minutes to be acknowledged at our table. They were out of chips, guacamole, cheese, salsa and just about every appetizer. Took 15 minutes to get my drink. And another 20 to get my food. Most waitresses looked like they were doing nothing except walking around, on a TUESDAY night. Horrible service don't even waste your time or money.

Yelp
Found this restaurant off the normal tourist street, read previous reviews and was somewhat skeptical but my husband and I gave it a try. So glad we did. While all other restaurants had huge lines this one didn't. ( Another reason I was afraid to try) Food was delicious. Service was attentive and place was clean. Unconventional food (Mexican, Spanish and Cuban) for NOLA but very good. They did have an eggs and bacon plate with pancakes for those that do t want to try the other plates offered at breakfast. Glad we tried it.

Yelp
Didn't get to order drinks until we ordered food. Takes forever. If you want cold food from a bag your destination is here. Couldn't even finish what I had.

Yelp
very good food, good atmosphere, polite workers. i would recommend going here. i got a cheese quesadilla and a side of rice and beans which was delicious. the only reason i didn't put 5 stars is because it took a while for someone to take our order, but other than that it was great !

Yelp
Pretty much a very small Mexican restaurant. No thrills. We were a party of six in town for a work conference and had about 75 minutes for lunch. We ordered at 1210 and our food arrived at 1235-1240. Then our chicken fajitas (that days special) were brought without tortillas and took an extended period to bring them. We asked for tomatoes and took more time. Everyone's food (chicken burrito, bean enchiladas, shrimp enchiladas beef burrito, and chicken fajitas) was your normal tasting Mexican food. No ah moment. I did see they had a 2 for 1 margarita special with food purchase--didn't try it though. My only real compliant was food wait time and our waitress eating her lunch right next to our table. It should be implemented that you don't eat during your shift and then handle customers food.

Yelp
We were hungry after a tour and decided to eat anywhere. Well with all the wonderful places to eat in the French Quarter area, don't waste your time eating here. Nothing close to real Cuban food and there idea of Mexican food is really sad. They could do so much to improve there food. The good news is the cold beer was cold, the free chips were ok and the red salsa was actually good. The guacamole - made fresh each morning, according to the server, was also good. Service was fine overall, but it was a slow Monday late afternoon, not sure how well they do at game time......I understand why they get 3 stars, but the best I could give them would be 2 1/2 stars. Don't waist your time eating here.......

Yelp
So the first thing was the ice tea tasted like the medal container the kept it in. Then I ordered an enchiladas. It had cold cheese and dry chicken. No sauce. I can't recommend it. I don't think anything is fresh or warmed properly. They have to do a better job to serve the public. I can't see it happening
