The hotel is situated in Kosbach, a village near Erlangen. Very nice surroundings and the hotel with restaurant in a former farmhouse is romantic. Parking is good and close to the hotel. My room was large, friendly, clean, a big bed, a fabulous bathtub in the bathroom. Nothing amiss, all very positive. There is a tiny elevator/lift if you aren't up to using stairs. I did not eat at the restaurant, but the menu looks very tempting!||I did have a bad breakfast experience but that was solely due to the woman serving, who overlooked me one hundred percent while asking at the neighboring tables (a couple and a group) constantly whether anything was needed. Coffee, tea, scrambled eggs were brought, used plates taken. Me? I was unable to catch her eye, not for lack of trying. Nearly comical how she never once glanced my way but scuttled off, head down. The husband sitting at the next table with his wife had noticed this and at some stage called "Hello!" and she immediately turned and asked what he wanted. He pointed to me and said: "this lady wants another coffee!" - She then "noticed" me and did bring a coffee, wordlessly and without any "enjoy" or the like. Quite strange. So do skip breakfast if you travel alone. Other than that the place is really good for overnight stays.||Other perks: Around the hotel are ponds characteristic for the fishery and aquaculture that's traditional to the whole area. Carp is harvested here and right next to the hotel is Fishery Oberle, a historic fishery with a brewery and a very good carp restaurant. And Erlangen does have quite a few attractions, the botanical garden as an example.
