We chose to stop here based on the reviews, and we are so glad we did! My eggs were cooked perfectly, and the pancake was delicious and fluffy. Tessi and Dylan were fantastic! They were friendly, engaging, and made us feel like locals. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality!

Had a great experience at this restaurant! The service was friendly and attentive from start to finish. Our food came out quickly and everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to—highly recommend!

Saw this place on my way to Gilroy, very quaint, easy going, and very popular by the locals, Menu is decent and good selection, prices are very very resonable, Food is absolutely delicious, I arrived a little before lunchtime today, and it was a little busy so service was a little slow however, I kid you not, so worth the wait, family owned and freindly staff,We will visit again we enjoy the yummy food and great atmosphere!

We had brunch here on 08/24/2025 and, as always, it was a wonderful experience. The food is not only delicious but truly comforting for both the soul and the stomach, exactly what you want to start your day. A special shout-out to our favorite server, Dylan, who kept his smile and positive energy despite how busy the shift was. His kindness and attentiveness always make our visits extra enjoyable. This spot is consistently excellent, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a must-try breakfast-lunch restaurant.

I went with 7 teammates. We all loved our food. I got the french dip and someone else got the steak sandwich. Everyone else got omelets. Quite possibly the best fries I've ever had. We'll be back.

These people are crushing breakfast! If I could give them 10 stars I would. We’ve been on the road traveling for 3 months, and this was by far the best breakfast we’ve had. I ordered the country style eggs Benedict, and it was so delicious. It was a large portion cooked to perfection, and I was in heaven. Not only was the food everything you dream about when you think of breakfast, but the service was out of this world. All of the staff were welcoming, smiling and hustling, offering up a vibe of small town hospitality. In fact, they refilled my coffee 3 times before my food even arrived. This place doesn’t just provide a killer meal, they deliver old-school diner perfection.

Do stop by this gem if you are on route Montery Bay to Yosemite. The service and food is excellent. The choices are wide and every dish we ordered did not disappoint. We particularly loved the pancakes and potatoes - crispy on the outside and soft inside.

We have stopped by this wonderful café twice on our way to the Monterey area. It is a quaint diner type place with delicious homemade food. The service is awesome. They make you feel like family friends. Must try if you are in the area. Dylan and Tessie are the best! Thank you for making us feel so welcome and for the great food.

Great service and great foodI had a New York steak sandwich and it taste incredible My wife had the sourdough sandwich and she's very happy with that.. And my daughter had a short stack with bacon and eggs.. The waiters are really on top of the refills and always checking on you

Ever find that place you want to go to almost every week or multiple times a week to get the same 2 dishes? This is that spot for locals and travelers alike. Right off of 101, it is a no fuss joint, full of wonderful speedy staff, who take pride in bringing you that breakfast or lunch that meets your expectations. Try their chocolate pancakes with a side of peanut butter - it'll give you that food hug you were longing for.

We have greatly enjoyed stopping here, particularly enjoying Dino g at the counter. Today's adventure was as fantastic as the earlier ones, trying the breakfast burritos. Even the green salsa was amazing. The portions are big and the friendliness is over the top. Diner deluxe!

it was noisy in the back so we ate at the counter. The service was very good and friendly. My Blast sandwhich, Sourdough, bacon, avocado, etc was awesome, and the potatoe salad had just the right blend of vinegar. The homemade peach pie for dessert was subperb. If I lived nearby I wo uld eat here often.

Simple but delish, I tried the biscuits and gravy. Their green salsa was amazing(not pictured).

No frills or thrills diner menu, but they are consistent in what they make and how they make it. Simplicity with a hint of homemade food that just hits the spot every time. Server/staff are welcoming and very pleasant. This remind of me of home ( or where I used to call home before moving to the area) and the way people treat each other, with respect, dignity, good ol semi-but-not-quite-southern-ish hospitality. The food is nothing special, this isn't some fancy overpriced restaurant like so many in the area, but it's done right and is very tasty. I've yet to have a bad meal and we've come here very often. The interior could benefit from some minor updates ( specifically some of the worn out booths) but again, it's a very nice restaurant that gets packed repeatedly and for good reason. Food is good, portions are decent, the prices are very good, especially for the area and service is great. There are other options in the area but Country Kitchen is the only restaurant that attracts both locals and commuters alike for their speed and consistent service. Speed being mentioned, don't expect fast food, but one can reasonably come in get seated, order, get served, eat, pay and be on your way within 20-30 minutes depending on your party's size. One thing to note though, if you happen to come during a "rush hour", expect to wait a little as their line will go out to the parking lot.

Just a little restaurant off the 101 in Prunedale. Inexpensive but doable. I would recommend trying. Dogs are allowed to sit at or on the counter, so there's that. But nice family and friendly place. Wait staff is very friendly and personable. The inside looks like a barn and to me it's Kool cause that's where I grew up. They even have a hen roosting in the rafters! And a real barn door in the back! Kool place..

food was amazing. service was just as nice. biscuits and gravy was so well done. super fresh and homemade. don't pass up on dessert! cheesecake was amazing with some hot chocolate

Was down this way this morning for work and customer recommended for breakfast . First off it's huge inside and reminded me of this place my grandfather used to take me up towards Redding . Got blueberry pancakes and they were perfect ! Excellent service will definitely be back next time down .

I found service was fast, friendly & efficient. I go there for their breakfast items of waffles and their premium wonderful two blueberry pancakes. Yummy more blueberries than any other restaurant on earth. A very nice experience. If you go Sat/Sun get there by 7:30am if you want to sit upfront, tho they have a spacious back area.

We would drive by (101) this place every morning, and it always packed. So one day we decided to stop and "Try it". Well, it's definitely a locals spot. The food was okay, the portions were very small. The service was a bit slow but very friendly. We tried it. There's not much out there, so understand why it's so packed a lot of the time.

we stopped by here to check out the restaurant and kids needed to use the bathroom. We were seated right away in the back. Kids ordered some burgers and the wife and I order some breakfast. The staff here was on point! Very fast and friendly. Food came out pretty quick and it was delicious. Easy parking in front with tons of space. If you guys are ever in town come here and check them out. The service was what won us over and we will come back to try it again

I've driven past this place a million times and have never stopped. We popped in on a Friday morning on our way to Paso Robles. There were three of us and we all had great meals and the staff was super friendly. I will be back for sure!

Stopped here for breakfast. The workers are friendly. The inside looks like an older country diner. Had an order of French Toast. Nothing fancy but done right and enough to fill you up. The other order was a minced ham scramble. With a name like that I was expecting small pieces of ham but was surprised by good size and thick pieces of ham. The hash browns have a butter taste to them and that makes them some of the best I've had in a while. Definitely didn't leave hungry.

Service was fast. Easy parking but we got there by 8am. Food was excellent. Will be going there alot in the future.

I went here yesterday with my parents. Wow! The place has become huge! There is now a huge room in the back with a bar. It is a nice layout but needs now some ambiance like I could see framed prints on the walls. We sat near the windows that overlooked that highway and my dad kept on thinking about what would happen if a drunk driver moved off the road and rammed into the restaurant...very unlikely but still a scary thought. There were however cars parked right next to the window which were just a few inches away from where we were sitting. Anyhow, my dad suggested we go there because online he saw the prices on their website were reasonable. When we got there, we noticed the prices had gone up. So, the website was not updated apparently. 99% of the entrees are about $15 each and there were no specials yesterday. I ordered the blueberry pancakes which is actually a bargain at about $9 and I fully enjoyed it. The pancakes were absolutely delicious. But my parents who shared a breakfast entree apparently were not too impressed.

Hummmm, another place that I've been to several times that I haven't reviewed yet. The County Kitchen is doing a terrific job staying Covid compliant. A friend and I dined here today and the service was good, the food was hot and delicious and the weather perfect! I had the California Benedict and it was one of the best Benedict's that I've ever indulged in. Thanks CK for keeping us safe and maintaining quality eats. Today was positively a delightful dining experience.. right here in our own "backyard".

I finally stumbled across this gem this year which is unfortunate it took me so long to. I always drove by and saw how busy it was but never thought it was a delicious as it is. I've been here 3 times already and they definitely have one of the best turkey clubs ever. The food is made with love, the place is warm & welcoming and the customer service is awesome.

Great Food, Even Better Service ! My spouse and I stop and eat here whenever we head North towards the Bay area. We stopped by at 9:30 am on the Saturday (the day before Easter) and the lot was full, the restaurant was packed. We were seated immediately, we ordered our favorites, and as always we received our food quickly from the great staff of this restaurant. Even though the place was packed, the service stayed at the high level we are used to. The difference in this restaurant is that customers are served not just by the server, but by the entire staff comes by to see if you need anything. Amazing food, and an excellent staff. 10 out of 10 is my rating !!!

Good, basic food. Well prepared, hot and good service. It's a diner so booths and some counter seating. Bathroom clean! With hot water in the sink. Instead of cold water to wash your hands. Home made green salsa excellent.

As Recommended by a Friend When We Were Talking about Breakfast. He said to Try Country Kitchen. So on 6/8/23, I Drove Out there from Monterey. I saw a Cute Little Diner. I walk in Sat at the Counter. I check Menu. Order The Short Stack with Bacon Scramble eggs. It Was Just like home. Significant Portion Fluffy Pancakes Crispy Bacon. Service was Good. ts Nice to Go To a Local restaurant and Everyone Knows each other. When I finished I go Pay She says Thank you, young Man. If She Only Knew my age I will go back

The service was great, friendly and attentive. The breakfast The Best omelet was a good one however the chicken fried steak was like a hamburger patty breaded is not recommended, the blueberry muffin and waffle were good. I was curious to stop and looking at a normal breakfast... it's a good stop on the way out of town. Reminded me of Alaska restaurants... feed you with a typical American meal.American

Great little Diner on HWY 101 in Prunedale. Awesome breakfast options. I had the Chicken Fried Steak and eggs with homestyle potatoes. Just delicious. The portions are generous. The staff is so friendly and a attentive. I decided to stop in for lunch on another trip down south and ordered the Ranch Burger. That came with fries however I sub the Onion Rings. It also came with a cup of Chili. Quite the large lunch. I just wanted to nap afterwards. I highly reccomend this place if you are on your way to Montrery/Carmel or coming back to SF

Food was SO good and out very quickly. The service was the best my husband, daughter and I have seriously had. Everyone we talked to was so genuinely sweet and we had the most wonderful experience here! We walked out with smiles and full belly's!

This is a not so hidden jem of a restaurant. Amazing food, and an excellent staff. 10/10 French toast. Although I've yet to have anything from here that I don't like!

We stopped in at this restaurant today and really enjoyed it- what a treat! The ambiance of the restaurant was warm and inviting. The staff members were so friendly! I didn't catch our server's name, but she was very kind and attentive to our needs. More accurately, it seemed she actually anticipated our needs! The food was good with practically no wait time! This business runs like a well-oiled machine! They definitely know how to cook an egg well! This place reminds me of those small country towns in movies that you wish you could visit! It was a treat to actually visit a place like that! The staff and customers alike just had that "good people" vibe about them. I would love to come back to this location simply for the friendliness of the people found inside. And the food is tasty too!

Great Service! Hard to choose what to order as the menu is very complete. Extremely fair prices and fast service. I like the handle on the interior sliding barn door to the restrooms. Ima, the manager is such a gracious host and her exceptional service could not be any finer. She even made a special sauce for me to try with my crispy chicken salad and it was "Delish!" We'll be back to enjoy this enjoyable spot again soon.

This is a cute, homey place that I came to for breakfast with a group of 4. The wait time was minimal and we were seated in a nice and comfortable booth. The interior was spacious with a bar area up front and more seating toward the back. There were cozy touches all around and a very friendly, welcoming vibe. I ended up sharing several menu items (both breakfast and lunch) with my friends: Egg scramble with country potatoes, chocolate chip pancakes, fish and chips, salad and bread. The egg scramble consisted of ham, mushroom, onion, green peppers and melted cheddar cheese. This was pretty good, but tasted standard - It didn't really jump out at me. The country potatoes were just okay - Kind of bland. I think I would have liked the hashbrowns better. The side of pancakes were enjoyable. Extremely moist and fluffy, though I didn't feel that there were enough chocolate chips. The salad and bread wasn't very good, as the salad was a typical salad and was served way too chilled. The bread was lightly toasted and not very flavoful. Fish and chips were yummy! Probably my favorite out of what we ordered. The fish was incredibly crispy and had plenty of flavor, while the french fries were nicely crunchy and had great potato goodness! The service was solid - our waitress was personable and everything was brought out in a timely manner. Also, I found the pricing to be quite reasonable. However, the food was mediocre and for that reason, I don't feel the need to come back.

The Louis scramble is tasty and I'd order it again. Friendly service. Filled with locals from Prunedale. The servers seemed to know most people by name. I wish they opened a little earlier, but I'll return when I can.

What can I say about this amazing spot? I happened upon it in what I would deem a "happy accident". My car broke down around the corner. I was able to safely get it into the parking lot after some panicking. I came in for coffee and a bite, while waiting for help to arrive. The service was out of this world and the food is phenomenal. I ordered the 101 special burger (with added jalapeños and pepper Jack) and it was so fresh, and seriously fantastic! They were incredibly sweet and empathetic to my situation and I will absolutely be back whenever I am down this way. They greeted almost everyone who came in the door by name. We have a beautifully laid out outdoor dining and try their best to attend to your needs, The food is still very good and well-presented the most importantly hot when you first get it to eat in their outdoor tented dining area. There is a huge amount of locals and eat there and really support their local businesses to help the community thrive.

Their salsa is amazing. This place is very quaint and always seems busy when we drove by. We stopped in one day and we are totally addicted to the salsa. The burritos we ordered were so good and the salsa just made them that much better. Y'all need to bottle up the salsa and sell it. I'd buy 10 bottles if I could!

1st time eating here..Took my step son here for breakfast!! Was NOT disappointed! We both ordered the chicken fried steak breakfast. The best we both have ever had. The staff and service is excellent and very friendly..coffee is always topped off. Wonderful ambiance, very clean... its like a place you'd go to in Texas!! I highly recommend this place...food is incredible, price is just right! The staff makes you feel warm and welcomed!!

This place has the best darn salsa around! I love their breakfast burritos. Their waffles are amazing as well. This little place is always busy, but the customer service never lacks.

This place is absolutely average. The food is decent. The servers are reasonably friendly. There's absolutely nothing remarkable, either great or awful, about it. You will get fed. That's it.

A classic place in Prunedale that all the locals frequent. I have been going here ever since I can remember. This place is a must try if you are passing by the Prunedale area. Their menu has had a huge upgrade and everything on their menu is delicious.

This is my 1st time here. They do have outside sitting. It's a lovely patio setting with picnic tables that are arranged 6 feet apart. It is covered by a canopy. It was very clean. Inside was also very clean and well organized. The staff was wearing face masks. My waiter was very welcoming and friendly. I asked her for her recommendation and it payed off. I got the breakfasts burrito with ham, sausage, country potatoes and a waffle. Let's just say everything was delicious and prepared in a timely manner. I also got a little container of their salsa. Let's just say WOW!! is a game changer. It's refreshing and it has a mild kick to it. It paired well with my burrito and potatoes. The waffle is a good size had a good crust on the outside and it was soft and delicious on the inside. The waffle comes with butter and syrup. I cant wait to come back and try something else.

We come here often. They redid their back dining area like a while ago. The food is good with nice portions. Killer biscuits & gravy. Wait staff is friendly and if you go more than once a year they will probably remember you. Weekends are busy, it's right on 101, so sometimes you get to watch a group of bikers roll in. My daughter loves it.

Enjoy the company and the week the servers are good And a good place for friends to meet. They're not rushed out they can stay and talk play cards whatever they wanna do. And the food is good. You get plenty to eat.
