COURT OF MAJESTY '- ANCIENT RESIDENCE

If I could give this hotel more than five stars, I would. If I could give it 100 stars, I would. Nothing can prepare you for the fairytale that you were about to experience when you walk into this hotel from the beautifully curated art and furniture to the beautiful dogs, Hortencia and Olivia. But truly the brightest gem is the owner- Cristiana! She was so full of life, so welcoming, and so devoted to making sure our trip was top notch. The garden is not to be missed, especially when Cristiana brings you a glass of prosecco to enjoy! And don’t even get me started about the OPULENT breakfast her team prepared! I can’t wait to come back and bring my whole family with me!

Our stay here was magical! The host's attention to all the details brings you to be present and enlivens the soul! The breakfasts were lavish and always something to look forward to. A stay here is hard to put into words - it's something that can only be experienced with the heart. Thank you for the most memorable stay!

We left part of our souls at corte della maesta with Cristiana and her dogs Olivia and Ortensia. Such an unbelievable setting and accommodations, complete with one of the finest breakfast meals we've ever had. Thank you Cristiana, we cannot wait to return!

This is by far the most beautiful, unique and historical place we have ever stayed. It is unmatched. Tucked away in the disappearing village, you enter a private wooden doorway and are transported back in time. From the enchanting courtyard and garden to the welcoming kitchen with a cracking fire, this is a place like no other. Each room is designed with historical treasures and artwork and every detail is thought of from welcoming wine and cookies to the most luxurious bedding. Christiana is the most welcoming and warm hostess who made sure we felt comfortable from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. She also makes a delicious breakfast! We absolutely loved our short stay here and wish it was longer!

Corte della Maestra is an incredibly beautiful place to stay. The interior design reflects excellent taste. The attention to detail and hospitality provided by our incredible hosts was the best we’ve ever experienced. Breakfast in the garden, or in the piano room when it was drizzly, was wonderful. Freshly made and excellent levels of presentation. Our room was spotless with complimentary wine and home made biscuits. Cristiana helped book us in to restaurants, organised the little tractor for our cases and gave us recommendations. The dogs are a bonus - we loved having them around. The garden is a sanctuary and paradise on busy days. This really is a hidden gem, a one of a kind special stay.

After a number of years, we finally decided to take the honeymoon we never had, and booked a trip to Italy. Our very first stay in Italy was at the Corte della Maesta, a boutique hotel in the ancient city of Civita di Bagnoregio. Based on our research of Civita, we were looking forward to seeing firsthand the historical beauty of this small city perched high above the surrounding valley, but what we experienced with our stay at Corte della Maesta was absolutely magical and so much more than we could ever have imagined. The host and owner, Cristina, greeted us with open arms and instantly made us feel welcome. Upon entering Corte, we found ourselves in a room that served as the kitchen, although the term "kitchen" doesn't do this room justice. The beauty and elegance of this area is difficult to put into words. From the long table filled with an assortment of deliciously inviting food, to the beautiful art work and diverse collection of eclectic artifacts, this area is simply mesmerizing. Just outside this room is the garden, a quiet and serene area where guests can relax and enjoy excellent food and conversation. The decor and ambiance of the entire property left us in awe. Cristina and her partner, Paolo, have decorated every square inch of this beautiful residence with great care to provide their guests with a unique and intimate experience, paying close attention to every detail. And last, but certainly not least, were our canine hosts, Olivia and Ortensia, two of the most gentle and loving dogs you'll ever meet! Our stay at Corte della Maesta was one we will never forget. Cristina made us feel welcome and at home - like staying with family. We look forward to returning once again and staying longer next time!

We travel to Italy for a month every year and this is hands down the most incredible place we have stayed in. Civita is out of this world. Corte della Maesta is such a beautiful, magical and memorable place to stay. It is wonderfully curated and it is clearly a labour of love for Cristiana and Paolo. The gardens are gorgeous and we have never had such an incrediblle breakfast. What makes this place unforgettable is Cristiana . What a beautiful human being she is. My mother had just died and Cristiana was so incredibly kind and gentle with me. Her love for Civita and for Corte della Maesta shows in every cup and saucer, every rose in the garden and in everything she does. She is an amazing host and helped us in so many ways. You will never forget your stay! Thank you Cristiana, so very much.
