My friend and I came here this past Wednesday during happy hour (3-6 PM) since the HH food and drinks seemed reasonably price. But of course, we were tempted to order from their regular menu as well. Overall, some hits and some misses for food and the pricing is overall pretty steep (we paid almost $40 per person after tax and tip).
(HH) REUBEN ROLLS - 5
Each order comes with four bite sized reuben rolls. I really enjoyed these and liked the thousand island dressing and swiss cheese mix. There was plenty of corned beef and the sauerkraut was crunchy and a good addition. I'd definitely get this again.
(HH) BANGING' SHRIMP - 6
I personally didn't love this. The shrimp was lightly breaded with a tangy-ish chili sauce with lots of chopped peppers. The shrimp were small and nothing out of the ordinary. I probably wouldn't get this again.
(HH) CHICKEN TENDERS - 7
A classic. Nothing out of the ordinary, but if you like chicken with a good, crispy breading, just order it. The honey mustard sauce was a good enhancement if you want something other than ketchup.
(HH) STRAWBERRY CIDER (DOWNEAST CIDER HOUSE) 16 OZ. - 5.25
$2 off during happy hour, so definitely worth it. My friend and I both got one and we enjoyed our drink while eating the food we got. The strawberry flavor was prominent and the fruitiness was delightful. It wasn't overly sweet (which is my preference) and you still get that tart and sweet flavors from the cider. It was definitely stronger than I thought, so my friend and I were nicely buzzed after the drink. I'd recommend giving it a try if you like something fruity and light.
STEAK AND CHEESE TOTS - 12
They give you a good amount of steak here, which was flavorful (nicely salted with some garnish, cheese, and garlic aioli sauce). The tots were crunchy and warm, going well with all the garnish and sauce. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed this and glad we splurged a couple dollars more for the steak option. We both enjoyed this the most out of all the food we tried.
SPICY THAI WINGS (8 CT.) - 15
We got the bone-in option because dark meat chicken is just... better. Each of these were fat and juicy. We both didn't think it was that spicy. Definitely enjoyable by itself since they're already sauced pretty heavily. We felt like the ranch and blue cheese dressing were distracting (and not the best combination with the spicy Thai sauce).
Overall, I'd come back again for some of the food options, like the tots or reuben rolls. The happy hour pricing for the strawberry cider was fantastic, too, but I'm down to pay full price for the cider since it was good. Courthaus Social seem to be a really popular place for yuppies to go after work, and they were hosting a trivia night while we were there.
