"According to the Courthaus Social website, the beer garden is “currently the most spacious outdoor patio in Arlington.” And while we’re not taking out any measuring sticks, it’s safe to say this patio definitely has plenty of space — and drink options. The rotating tap list has two dozen beers. Cocktails include frozen margaritas, an orange blossom Old Fashioned, and Maker’s Mark mules." - Kalina Newman

While you may luck out with street parking nearby, most will be able to find parking within a couple of blocks. You'll usually have to pay but that's city life (I guess). This place is worth paying for parking as the food is pretty good. Service here is decent, with a setting made for hanging out with friends. It's comfortable, casual, and can also be good enough to enjoy with family. Again, food is pretty good. My wife went light with spinach artichoke dip (this was very average), while I had the schnitzel (very good) with smashed potatoes, and my son had the jambalaya pasta (he liked). All in all a positive experience.

My daughter and I visited the Courthaus Social for an early dinner. They had ample outdoor seating which is largely covered with a nice relaxing ambiance. Happy hour offering were very nice. I already love to try Brussel sprouts and theirs are among the best. We did have some dinner. The offerings garner good sized portions so we did end up taking some home. Overall the Courthaus Social added to a move afternoon.

Google
Great bar! Would love to go back for their happy hour which is 3-6. I’ve been a couple of times and this time tried the shrimp and a berry beer of some sort. Shrimp was 10/10 on flavor. Personally not a fan of having the tail left on when tossed in sauce but worth getting your hand a little messy.

Google
Great location and great atmosphere. I go there regularly and it’s a terrific location to grab food, a drink, and catch up with friends. I also recently had an event there that included a drink and food spread for about 55 people. Courthaus Social did an amazing job!

Google
Visited last night with my family decided to enter the restaurant as two groups , first party of 4 entered restaurant and then the second party of 5 entered 5 minutes later we were quite happy to be seated anywhere in restaurant. In the past we have found as large party we received poor service as the tip is mandatory so server doesn’t have pay attention to earn tip. They seated us straight across from the first party not at our request so when the bill came they said we were one party because we spoke to the table across from us . This was obvious ploy to obtain the mandatory tip for large party gratuity. What followed was an embarrassing encounter with the manager who knew we were in the right . As visitors to USA we understand the tipping culture and are quite happy to tip and usually tip about 10 to 15 percent depending on the service. We feel let down by the staff who were more concerned with greed than providing good service for a tip . Our two tables would have given 10 percent each which would have been more than the mandatory tip

Google
I discovered this place a couple months ago and it never disappoints. I did have a bartender who seemed a bit distracted, but he was fine and I wasn't in a rush. I did not have any food so can't comment on it. But, they do have a great lineup of beers that rotate fairly frequently. This is a great place for fans of craft beer.

Google
My friends and I went here for Wednesday night trivia and it was a nice overall experience. Food - delicious and good prices. My friends and I shared the big pretzel that was tasty. The only issue was the chicken tenders were a bit batter heavy according to my friend. Service- it was okay. The server was also the bartender so it wasn’t that attentive, but she eventually got around to our table. They didn’t bust our table until we left so that was also a challenge. Vibe - beer garden, sports and good lighting. Overall, I’ll go back. I would recommend you check this place yourself!

Google
Outstanding service and food. I recommend the Shrimp starter, it’s sweet and fiery and very well seasoned. The blueberry cinnamon roll is also very good. Reserve ahead so you can sit outside. The chairs don’t have a backing so that’s something to look for. I would come back for happy hour. They also have a puppy menu which is different. 10/10

Yelp
The beer list is phenomenal and rotates often enough, and the food is great. JP was extremely knowledgeable about drinks and the menu and provided great service throughout my visit. Definitely coming back.

Lucas G.

Yelp
Went here with some friends for the first time and had a great time! Food and drinks were great and JP's service was awesome!

Benjamin T.

Yelp
Food is alright, mainly you'd go here to drink with friends. My experience here was lackluster because my server was high and got the order for my Burger wrong. They're good neighbors and let Fire Works Pizza borrow ice when the machine is down or we need extra so that creates good community culture for restaurants. They finally just opened the Courtroom side that formerly was a vietnamese place. You definitely should try it out!

Courtney R.

Yelp
I couldn't rate the food because we did not stick around to try it. The staff we encountered were extremely friendly! I rated that a 4 because when I approached the bar tender about the cups still having lipstick his response was "usually that's just water spots" We were seated next to a window that was behind the outside bar! So when the manager came over I pointed out other dirty glass that still had lipstick on it that was stacked with the clean cups at the bar. The food looked amazing and smelled amazing but the cleaning standards here are absolutely disgusting. This was my first experience here so it definitely was a bed first impression

Yelp
3.5 stars - awesome and convenient location, decent selection of drinks, fair happy hour assortment Things I loved: The pulled pork tots and pretzels (especially the beer cheese, made in-house daily with the pilsner!). Reuben rolls were also a hit given the complexity of flavors packaged neatly in a wonton wrapper. Plus, the outdoor seating is great for parties large or small! Things I loved less: Banging shrimp - heavy on the cream (mayo?) and almost more sweet than spicy. A bit too sauce forward. The staff is super hit or miss. I've visited three times now and they're pretty attentive at the start and then go MIA when it's time for a second (or third) round. It's a bit of a letdown when you're in need of silverware, water, or simply more beer to enjoy with your pretzel and your host is nowhere to be seen... Something to work on! I'd also love to see a broader selection of beers. Very ~bierhaus vibes~ but the beer selection doesn't reflect that. I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Visiting from Texas and came in with my buddy Jon. Excellent service. A special shoutout to Josiah who was our server and he was great. The food was awesome and the vibe was cool. Will come again.

Nisha B.

Yelp
Met a friend here on a Sunday afternoon. If you get on the Elevator to Clarendon Blvd, you will be a few feet away from this location Sat outside. Cozy tall tables. Large beer tap selection There's different menus for dinner, brunch and happy hour I had the steak frites. Medium. They were just okay. I asked for the truffle to be removed from the fries

Yelp
I really enjoy Courthaus Social as a place to meet up with friends and have a relaxing get together. I've been a number of times and have always had a good experience with the food but this most recent time was a little disappointing. I met some friends for brunch and we ordered the breakfast sandwich, bacon wrapped shrimp and grits, and chicken tenders and potatoes. My friend enjoyed the chicken tenders but said they only had a very light layer of breading so it didn't feel like you were eating a chicken tender that you'd expect. My friend who got the breakfast sandwich did not like it as much, pulling out a large piece of fat (or something similar) and she did not finish half of the sandwich. I ordered the shrimp and grits and asked for the cajun sauce on the side, and what came out was a surprising presentation. I'm not sure if it's because I asked for the sauce on the side but the dish was a deconstructed version, so I'm not sure if it would have been in a bowl had the sauce been added on top. It was kind of an odd presentation. The shrimp was good, no complaints. The polenta cake does not resemble grits at all, so not a great name for the dish, and there was broccolini on the plate which was not listed on the menu. Overall it wasn't our favorite meal at Courthaus Social but the ambiance and staff were nice.

Yelp
Went here for the first time tonight for trivia with my work colleagues and I loved it! The food was yummy and the trivia was fun. Only issue was the service. We were there from 5:30ish to 9pm and we kept having to chase down a waiter for more drinks and such. I know they were super busy because of the trivia but we probably would have spent more money on drinks and such. But they probably just didn't have enough people working, so I'm willing to forgive that. Luckily, the food was good enough that it made up for everything else! The pulled pork tots were a great appetizer and were only $6 with the happy hour menu. I ordered the blackened mahi mahi as my entree and it was incredibly flavorful! I wanted to lick the butter sauce from the plate when I was finished. I'll definitely be back both for trivia and just so dinner!

Jenny O.

Yelp
We had a blast here last night at trivia! It was five rounds of 11 questions and I loved how they covered many different topics. I also appreciated using a phone app to play, which definitely helped with hearing questions when the restaurant was packed and quite lively. For food, I got the blackened mahi-mahi and brussels sprouts. The mahi-mahi was scrumptious, tender and smoky from the grill. It was served over yummy cilantro rice and creamy/zesty lemon butter sauce. Needless to say, I wiped my plate clean! The brussels sprouts was also stellar - everything crispy in it from bacon to shallots to the actual brussel sprouts. It was served with bleu cheese, which rounded out the crispy heartiness with just the right amount of funk! We also sampled through a few of the delicious beers on tap from kolsches to sours. Service was prompt and great, too. What a fun time - hope to come back soon!

Sarah C.

Yelp
Ordered the BBQ chicken flatbread and the chipotle ranch chicken salad but substituted the ranch for Champaign dressing. The flatbread was very light. I would definitely order 2 next time or order this if I wanted a small bite. The salad was great and a respectable size. I loved the Champaign dressing which wasn't creamy or overpowering for the salad. When we ate here it was trivia night. The questions were fun and on your phone. However, it is a longer trivia game so be prepared!

Yelp
Courthaus Social is a fantastic German beer garden with a welcoming ambiance and great outside seating. Their draft beer selection is impressive, offering a variety of quality brews. The grilled chicken was delicious, perfectly seasoned and cooked. The service was friendly and attentive, making for an enjoyable visit. Highly recommended for a relaxed outing with great food and drinks!

Yelp
Courthous social! This place is awesome. Great service, tasty food, and really awesome employees. Jorge and Des were a great help throughout our evening. Really appreciate them. Me and my friends will be back very soon!

Lizbeth H.

Yelp
I was visiting DC for a work trip and came across this bar & wow! JP was a great bartender, he was very kind and attentive. He was able to make any drink I wanted!

Yelp
Maybe brunch or trivia nights are highlights for this place, but clearly an ordinary Friday night is forgettable and the food is pretty mediocre. Hmm...where do I start. First of all, there was plenty of seating but our server insisted on seating us in a cramped area in between two other tables where I couldn't even place my bag on the back of my chair without it nearly being in the lap of the people seated directly behind us. Secondly, just because we ask for a medium-well burger doesn't mean it should be burned and hard. And c'mon, any legitimate restaurant doesn't serve waffle fries that aren't even as good quality as what you'd find in the frozen section of any grocery store. Try serving hand-cut fries: that's what good restaurants do. Thirdly, the buffalo chicken sandwich, which was the only enjoyable part of our meal would have been perfect if it were served on a bigger bun. The small bun it came with finished long before the contents of the sandwich were. The grilled asparagus that I ordered with it was too well done, nearly burned. FYI: you can grill something without burning it. And last but not least-fix your devices that you use to take orders so you can actually bring out the food the way customers order it without several mistakes. The food and experience were lousy but here's a picture anyway:

Yelp
I had a great time tonight at Courthaus Social. Wednesday is their trivia night and the host was super animated and engaging throughout the night. My server, JP, was amazing - he even brought out an extra scoop of ice cream with chocolate sauce after I forgot to ask for it when I ordered dessert. I will definitely be coming back!

Jessica B.

Yelp
One of my absolute favorite things in the world on a cold day is a warm cinnamon bun. Courthaus makes their cinnamon buns in house daily and refreshes their flavors each month so there's always something new to try. Happy hour weekdays from 3-6, District trivia Wednesday's at 7, food for everyone, a dog friendly patio, and a wide selection of beers, cocktails, and wine make Courthaus Social an easy choice no matter who you're visiting with.

Jenna T.

Yelp
JP served us and was amazing and attentive to our table, and the food was great. I got the pumpkin ale and it was also really good! It was perfect for happy hour!

kyler M.

Yelp
Great rotating selection of beers and atmosphere to watch sports. Always receive friendly service. Good happy hour deals.

Angel P.

Yelp
I came here for happy hour on a weekday and it wasn't too busy. They have good happy hour deals ($2 off drinks, and food deals). I got myself a margarita, and the steak and cheese tots and bangin' shrimp. The drink was pretty decent and I was surprised because the food was pretty good. The happy hour food are a good deal for the amount given. Our server was also good. I would come back for happy hour.

Rylee B.

Yelp
Do not come here for night games!! This restaurant will advertise playing the game and then as soon as they close, even if it's the national championship game with 3 minutes to go, they will suddenly, with no warning and in the middle of a play turn off the TVs to signal you to leave. We missed the ending of the Michigan national championship game because they turned off the TV's with no warning. We would have gone somewhere else if we were given warning, but nope. However, they have no problem leading people to believe this a great place to watch a big game. Like I totally get having a closing time, but then maybe don't advertise about showing these big games and mislead people when there is no flexibility to actually show them?

Erin W.

Yelp
Tried the July Special Lobster Roll ($30) which was 4oz of lobster of the driest bun I have ever tried to eat in my life! Literally: bite, sip, swallow, bite, sip, swallow. Our server was so nonchalant that he'd disappear for long stretches of time leaving us with empty glasses. My husband had a burger that was OK for an $18 burger. A friend came a bit late and ordered the lobster roll too. Now, this friend eats anything and everything... and he couldn't eat the bread either. Also, I'm all for a dog friendly establishment but being sat next to a dog that barks at every person to walk in his direction or other dogs really kills the entire experience. So service was slow, food was dry and over priced, and a beautiful outdoor experience was ruined by untrained dogs.

Cyrus A.

Yelp
Great spot for drinks and food in the Courthouse area! The outdoor space is fantastic, lots of seating for groups of all sizes. And the outdoor patio is dog friendly. They've got an extensive beer list, with lots of options to choose from. The food was also surprisingly good - I had the veggie kabob dish and found it to be really flavorful and well-prepared. Even the rice was cooked well, it went perfectly with the veggies and the sauces (hummus and a spicy house sauce). Service was great too, they took care of my order and even brought a water bowl for my pup. Definitely a good option in this area for a lower key, beer hall vibe and good food and drinks!

Ben D.

Yelp
Had a fun time with friends unfortunately the food quality has gone down since my last visit. We got an order of wings, steak frites, and a buffalo chicken sandwich. Chicken wings were good and crispy and the buffalo sauce was good. The fries were soggy and not crispy unfortunately. The steak was well cooked and at the right temperature. Service was good and its fun environment to watch a game overall. The buffalo chicken sandwich was good it was crispy served with blue cheese. Overall well seasoned and balanced.

Mallory L.

Yelp
I love this place the beers are great the menu is a large selection and very good and not to mention the service is impeccable, shoutout to the server Jorge he is the best serve super attentive, nice and just a fun guy in general. If you have the chance request him!

Charlie W.

Yelp
Came here with our kids and dog on a Saturday afternoon after visiting DC. First off, really friendly service and very welcoming to our dog. While this is not a high end restaurant, it is definitely five stars for what it is... Excellent high end pub food. I had the grilled salmon salad. My wife had the avocado toast. Both fresh and excellent. My kids had the chicken tenders. They looked and tasted homemade. Not sure if they were, but probably some of the best I've tasted. I also really like that they have water bowls and treats for my dog. Overall a fun afternoon experience and if I lived around here, I would definitely come back.

Vince S.

Yelp
We came for trivia and Kristen was the best server and was so attentive to our table with many different tabs. Great spot!

Carla B.

Yelp
After catching a movie nearby, I stopped in for a quick lunch. There's plenty of seating outside but we decided to dine inside. The atmosphere was that of a typical bar. The draft was happening so there was a group gathered around one of many TVs on one side. We were seated on the other side of the restaurant which was surprisingly quiet. I saw a few things on the menu that I wanted to try but I decided on the Courthaus burger with a side of tots and a Shirley Temple. I was not disappointed. The fried onion ring and avocado on the burger added great flavor. The tater tots were perfectly crunchy and the Shirley Temple is a classic. There was a wide array of beer available and the waiter was knowledgeable about the offerings. I enjoyed my experience and the prices were pretty reasonable.

Brit S.

Yelp
Cool beer garden/american restaurant. Gets super busy and sort of loud on the weekend - but thats to be expected of somewhere like this. The outdoor seating is nice (weather permitting). The french dip sandwich and burger were okay, but the tots were amazing. We really enjoyed the wings and pretzel as well to start. Cocktails were tasty - but was frustrating that when we ordered we were told the seasonal drink menu had just changed and the one online was outdated. Would come back for apps and tots and drinks!

Clifton R.

Yelp
I visited Courthaus Social with some friends for trivia night that they have on Wednesday nights. The place was packed and we were able to grab a table outside since it has been oddly warm recently. We couldn't figure out how to join trivia so we asked our waiter and surprisedly .. the waiter didn't know!! We ended up playing games on our phones together. I eventually got hungry and ordered the buffalo chicken wings and waffle fries. The food came out fast like 5 mins and it was average to me. Most of the chicken wings flavor/seasoning came from the buffalo sauce. I doubt the wings were seasoned. I actually enjoyed the waffle fries more because they use a lot of black pepper instead of salt, I love black pepper on fries! The waiter and service were overall good during a busy night.

Caitlin L.

Yelp
Christina was great! So friendly and helpful with her suggestions, appreciate her a ton!

Christopher P.

Yelp
Great beer. Fair prices. Good atmosphere. Katie is awesome!! Didn't have any food, but the stuff my friends had looked good.

Yousif A.

Yelp
Had the pleasure of getting dinner here last night. Opted for outdoor seating and our servers were very quick. Great pricing on a lot of their pitchers and food is great also.

Christine B.

Yelp
JP was a wonderful server and really took care of us. The food was good, the service was quick, and they made sure we always had what we needed.

Ailun H.

Yelp
My friend and I came here this past Wednesday during happy hour (3-6 PM) since the HH food and drinks seemed reasonably price. But of course, we were tempted to order from their regular menu as well. Overall, some hits and some misses for food and the pricing is overall pretty steep (we paid almost $40 per person after tax and tip). (HH) REUBEN ROLLS - 5 Each order comes with four bite sized reuben rolls. I really enjoyed these and liked the thousand island dressing and swiss cheese mix. There was plenty of corned beef and the sauerkraut was crunchy and a good addition. I'd definitely get this again. (HH) BANGING' SHRIMP - 6 I personally didn't love this. The shrimp was lightly breaded with a tangy-ish chili sauce with lots of chopped peppers. The shrimp were small and nothing out of the ordinary. I probably wouldn't get this again. (HH) CHICKEN TENDERS - 7 A classic. Nothing out of the ordinary, but if you like chicken with a good, crispy breading, just order it. The honey mustard sauce was a good enhancement if you want something other than ketchup. (HH) STRAWBERRY CIDER (DOWNEAST CIDER HOUSE) 16 OZ. - 5.25 $2 off during happy hour, so definitely worth it. My friend and I both got one and we enjoyed our drink while eating the food we got. The strawberry flavor was prominent and the fruitiness was delightful. It wasn't overly sweet (which is my preference) and you still get that tart and sweet flavors from the cider. It was definitely stronger than I thought, so my friend and I were nicely buzzed after the drink. I'd recommend giving it a try if you like something fruity and light. STEAK AND CHEESE TOTS - 12 They give you a good amount of steak here, which was flavorful (nicely salted with some garnish, cheese, and garlic aioli sauce). The tots were crunchy and warm, going well with all the garnish and sauce. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed this and glad we splurged a couple dollars more for the steak option. We both enjoyed this the most out of all the food we tried. SPICY THAI WINGS (8 CT.) - 15 We got the bone-in option because dark meat chicken is just... better. Each of these were fat and juicy. We both didn't think it was that spicy. Definitely enjoyable by itself since they're already sauced pretty heavily. We felt like the ranch and blue cheese dressing were distracting (and not the best combination with the spicy Thai sauce). Overall, I'd come back again for some of the food options, like the tots or reuben rolls. The happy hour pricing for the strawberry cider was fantastic, too, but I'm down to pay full price for the cider since it was good. Courthaus Social seem to be a really popular place for yuppies to go after work, and they were hosting a trivia night while we were there.

Aisha S.

Yelp
Good afternoon, I enjoy the delicious food and alcoholic beverages. The service is on point at the bar. Such good ambience in the environment. I recommend eating and drinking here!

Debbie K.

Yelp
Happy hour: banging shrimp, red sangria, and an ipa -- prices were pretty decent for happy hour and I was especially impressed by the banging shrimp!! It was the perfect dish to pick at while drinking and chatting. The sauce was just zesty and tangy enough without overpowering the crispyness of the shrimp and the vegetables next to it. The dinner food itself was very yummy although the wings didn't have enough sauce on them, the sauce itself was pretty good. Courthouse seems like a great place for a light american dinner/happy hour with friends and it was!

Carter B.

Yelp
Had a great time at four courts with a big group. The beer list has something for everyone and our server JP did a great job handling a big loud group like ours

Sherry W.

Yelp
I have eaten here a few times and it is pretty consistent. The food quality is good and tasty. The portions are not huge but usually well prepared. I have always liked the food I have ordered and I have been here for both brunch and dinner. I would recommend giving it a try.

Derrick M.

Yelp
Came back for a night cap, met Liz whom which I was the best upon availability! I won't lie, I'm a creature of habit via drink or food. That said Liz's pours and service on my rums and cokes/ buffalo sandwhich Togo are always staples. Any, and all visitors, keep this place going!

Brandon B.

Yelp
Today, I went to Courthaus Social for lunch, and it was my first time there. The food was absolutely delicious! We arrived around 2 pm and were pleasantly surprised to find the place practically empty. We were seated immediately, and our drink and food orders were taken promptly. My friend ordered the fish and chips, while I opted for chicken tenders with fries. The food arrived piping hot, and my friend loved her fresh and crispy fish. As for my chicken tenders, they were some of the best I've ever had at a restaurant! They were huge and came with the option of three different dipping sauces. The fries were perfectly seasoned with salt and pepper, and to top it all off, I had an amazing root beer. It was a great first experience at Courthaus Social, and I'll definitely be back for another meal at a very reasonable price.

Sidney T.

Yelp
The service was amazing. You have to get the Buffalo chicken flatbread and the nachos. JP was a great server. Atmosphere and vibes were great. Drinks were amazing, the stein beer is huge. Overall great experience.

Milin P.

Yelp
Went for happy hour, solidly priced with $5-7 bar food and $2 off drafts and cocktails. Great out door space and good selection of beers and fruity cocktails great for summer. Food was pretty standard bar food, the chicken tenders were a standout though, very good. Service was solid, little slow at times.

Karen D.

Yelp
Food , service and bar selection were great! Grilled buffalo wings were some of the best we've had. Mac and cheese was off the chain! Mahi entree was delicious! Ribs were finger licking good :) Awesome craft beer selection and impressive liquor menu for a "sports bar." Service was quick and very friendly. Highly recommend for quality casual dining!

Michael G.

Yelp
Courthaus Social does not miss. When friends want to eat something safe in my neck of the woods I typically bring them here. The monthly sandwiches are always a hit and I recently had a good experience with the jambalaya. Will walk in here sometimes just to have a drink. Bunch of events throughout the year. A real fixture in the Courthouse community.

Jordan H.

Yelp
Jorge was a phenomenal server! The spinach dip and the fish and chips are also delicious.

Neekah R.

Yelp
Cool hang out spot with friends. I came here with my daughters after a movie. Food was very tasty , fresh and fun. Service was sweet and full of smiles. First time here and will definitely return kidless. Even got a return invite from my server Jorge, very cute smile! Great place to hang for Football season!

Dave T.

Yelp
We've been wanting to visit for a while and finally did and wondered why we hadn't come sooner! They have a very extensive bar menu of beer, wine, cocktails and liquor. And their food menu had a vast array of apps, sides and entrees. It was hard for us to decide so we ordered quite a bit for just 3 guests (see pic)! Their patio was dog friendly and allowed us to enjoy a beautiful afternoon with our two pups. The Big Haus pretzel was bigger than my face, and my favorite was the Pulled Pork tots. I washed everything down with a refreshing #Adulting Guava IPA.
