Courtside Food & Spirits Closes in East Cambridge After 76 Years | Eater Boston

"Originally opened by the owner's father in 1943, this family-run East Cambridge dive bar closed permanently on a Monday afternoon after a 76-year run when the building was sold to the neighboring property owner. John Alberts, who took over in the 1970s and is now in his seventies, said health issues affecting him and his wife helped signal it was time to leave the business. Over his tenure the bar became a local haven for sports fans and recreational team celebration and was especially known as a neighborhood destination for lively karaoke nights. Its shutdown is the latest example in a broader wave of longtime Boston-area dive bars closing or being repurposed, alongside spots such as Doyle’s, the Beacon Hill Pub, the Bus Stop Pub, and the Green Briar Pub." - Dana Hatic

Google
Courtside is always customer-first — kind, helpful, and consistent every time I walk in, whether I’m just looking or actually buying, especially with anything Chrome Hearts. Unlike the other local CH dealer on Newbury, they treat people like people, not like they’re doing you a favor. And they don’t do those crazy up-charges the way others do. I used to send people to Newbury for Chrome Hearts, but after hearing complaint after complaint from friends about how they were treated, I stopped. Now I refer everyone to Courtside — and they’ve been great every single time.

Courtside Kicks gives off a really authentic, community-driven vibe both online and in-store. Their social media keeps me up-to-date with the latest drops and makes me feel connected to the brand, while their website is easy to use, even though it could use more stock and reviews. In-store, the experience is personal and laid-back, with staff who really know their stuff. I love that they focus on sneaker culture and cater to sneakerheads who are looking for exclusive releases. Overall, if you're into limited-edition kicks and streetwear, Courtside Kicks is a great place to shop, both online and in-person.

Sold me a fake rhude hoodie. I even asked the employee in store he assured me It was authentic, only to find out the design on the real item is completely different.

Yelp
The kid Danny Sullivan's a weirdo And a bit passive aggressive tbh.. hoodie was ripped in the inside and his response was "can't see it so we sell it for full price".. I honestly feel he is uncomfortable in the store with anyone over 18 year old who's not white (respectfully) so he probably just said anything about the rip inside the hoodie.. or maybe got a lil power rush when I ask for the owners validation on selling a ripped hoodie at full price considering he is one of the Owner..

Yelp
This place is a hidden GEM! For people who like Urban clothing and are into sneakers that you couldn't get your hands on, they resell here and the prices aren't bad at all. I was greeted as soon as I walked in, and was taken care of by DJ. He made sure to attend to me as I was looking as some Foam Runners and didn't know which color I wanted, but I did end up picking up a color and I was very happy with the price, knowing the shoes were authentic and the vibes in there were really good. They do accept cash and credit. I appreciate how clean it is in here and even though the store is not huge, it's medium sized they had a range of stuff in here. Make sure you check them out in Copley!

Yelp
I went to sell shoes and was given a fake $100 bill, maybe a mistake but sucks that it was that
