Going to Cove Haven and staying in the Champagne Tower room has been a dream of mine since the early 80s. After 20 years being married my husband and I were able to take our first "couples trip" and while it was only 1 night it was fantastic. ok so the resort wasn't built in this century lol but it holds history and tradition. How wonderful to feel celebrated just for loving your human. Plus everyone needs a little kitsch in their lives! Sometimes it's good not too take life too seriously and just enjoy yourselves. Our room was clean and everything worked wonderfully! That was all that mattered. We are already planning on returning at the end of February for our 21st anniversary (since we've never actually been able to have a honeymoon) for 2 nights because 1 night for a first time just wasnt enough time to experience all Cove Haven has to offer! A special bonus was the dinner entertainment a gentleman named Pete Begley, who played a wonderful instrument called a Chapman Stick he was flawless and very friendly even went around the dining room tovevery table and not only asked if anyone had requests but engaged in conversation while playing (I am a musician, that is a very difficult almost impossible task) Everyone we encountered guest and team members alike were ALL warm and welcoming to us which, to me, having worked in food service and retail management is more important then thr product. Generally if you have happy friendly guests it is because you have happy friendly team members. absolutely the best hotel stay ever!

my boyfriend and i had a great time at cove haven celebrating valentine's day! it was very snowy and icy while we were there, though, so we definitely want to come back during either the summer or fall months to fully enjoy everything the property has to offer. that doesn't mean we still didn't have fun! the food was good and the arcade games were a lot of fun! also LOVED the pool in our room. very cozy atmosphere. only complaint i have is that they could have salted the area where our room was better. it was very icy and was worried about falling. plus, bring back the pocono love potion cups!!!! can't wait to visit again :)

This place VASTLY exceeded my expectations. The pictures of the room online didnt do it justice! I stayed in the Champaign room and it was so nice— the heated pool was huge and the lights were beautiful. The food was delicious I’d— would highly recommend doing the breakfast/dinner package. There were endless activities at the resort, and a lot of ski places within an hour drive. Would HIGHLY recommend, it was one of the best vacations I’d ever been on.

We had a great time all activities . The breakfast and dinner were excellent. We come back in the summertime. But they need a makeover. Very outdated musty smell. Floors are sagging and some buildings. Ceiling tiles are falling down in some buildings. If they improve It will be a beautiful place ....Get away.... The staff was excellent. Pleasant friendly.

Had great time at this resort. We had a Juliette room which was very clean . All of the staff was very friendly and took great care of us. The entertainment the night we were there was great. The band sounded great and the comedian was great as well.breakfast and dinner was wonderful. The only thing I would recommend is too have the hot tub by the pool a little hotter. Overall experience was great.

Coven Haven is a very mixed bag. There is a great experience with amazing staff paired with a poorly managed and maintained property. As you pull into the property, you'll first encounter semi-wild deer to greet you. They're tame enough to pet. You can buy a small bag of feed for $5 at the gift shop, or remember to bring an $8 huge bag of deer feed. If you like animals, the latter will be well worth it. Do not arrive on a busy check out day like a Sunday. Yes, the weekday fees are better, but don't expect your room to be ready. We arrived at 3:30p and were given a room at 7pm (an upgraded room since our original tier STILL wasn't ready). We heard stories of rooms not ready at 11pm. Management uses an outside housekeeping service. The staff and entertainment is just hands-down amazing! Friendly and talented (and likely overworked). They are the true gem of the visit. The guests were a mixed bag, too. We talked with some of the nicest people and also noticed some couples that just seemed miserable or very sketchy. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience. I probably wouldn't go back, but I do like the in-room pool. I'm sure somewhere else in this country has the same amenities, so I would try them first.

Me and my husband went to cove heaven for his birthday and we had a great time. So much activities to do without leaving the resorts. We enjoyed our time so much. The jacuzzi in our room was perfect. Gena the lady at the bar was so nice. Everyone in the dining room was nice. We enjoyed our breakfast every morning. We had delicious dinner the night of my husband’s birthday while enjoying life music. Overall service is great. I loved it, my husband loved it, and we planned to come back soon.

Will never stay here again. Don't waste your money or time 1.0 The idea of the property, we booked this trip for a relaxing romantic getaway like was seen in the pictures. The idea of the different rooms were appealing. @ Garden of Eden room -Shocked by bathroom lightswitch -Half of the receptacles do not work -Sauna door broken so can't shut won't stay warm for more than 5 minutes -Pool room was cold feels like air is blowing around constantly unfit to go swimming in -Receptacles on lamps don't work -No access to water like advertised -No access to ice or anything. After going down this morning and voicing our concerns again we were upgraded to a different room which was the Champagne Towers -Hot water doesn't work in the shower had to take a cold shower -Food was Awful butter noodles 37 dollars a person for McDonald's version of fancy -75 dollar charge to accidentals but none of my stuff worked to begin with 130 dollar service fee for what? Resort is trash -Called three times for water was told a different lie each time, no one had any water

Yelp
loved the champagne tower room. Pool was cold on the first day, we asked for it to be fixed, and they fixed it. Food was excellent. This is a cozy, quiet (no kids) resort. A good place to relax. A note: the champagne jacuzzi takes an hour to fill. Yes it is a little dated, we did not mind, friendly staff. we did take the meal package, it was worth it. There is NOTHING around to visit, so you will be staying on property during your stay. bring all toiletries, meds and snacks. They do have fridge in the room. We did bring our own liquor and glasses for the room.

Yelp
If you think this is a replacement for Pocono Place, think again. This was our fourth and final stay with Cove Pocono Resorts. We splurged on the Champagne Tower room and felt that we overpaid for the disappointing experience we received. It was so distracting and disgusting that we felt it was hard to connect romantically. Pros: The staff was mostly friendly and accommodating. Except for one bad experience, the food was excellent. The couples massage we booked at the spa was nice. Cons: Where to start? Our first evening, we came back from dinner eagerly anticipating a dip in our toasty heated pool after a walk in the crisp September air. We were sadly disappointed with a pool that was too cold to spend more than a few minutes in. The front desk told us they'd have someone come out to turn up the heat. We also mentioned that the lights in the pool were not working and were told that most of the rooms do not have working pool lights. So much for a romantic atmosphere! It felt like the pool was not actually ready for us at all and that they were keeping pool heating turned off to save money. Note we have stayed in rooms with heated pools before and they were always deliciously warm. Day 2 we ended up moving rooms because the pool was still cold. The second room had its own host of issues--doors that you needed to apply excessive force to open, a toilet that didn't flush properly, and a clogged sink. I felt grossed out. The air conditioner was noisy and sounded like it had a small animal living inside. Most days they had a breakfast buffet, but the one day they served a sit down meal, it took over an hour to get our food. Guests were walking out angry. My husband ordered crepes and was told 20 minutes later that they were "out of crepes". Considering at this point we were only about 30 minutes into breakfast, how is that possible? How do you run out of something like that? Be honest, they just didn't want to make the crepes. After an hour (with no communication or check-ins from server) we were brought pancakes with visible griddle residue and a watery "western omelet". The dining hall ladies' bathroom floor was recently waxed. I am a relatively fit 32 year old woman and I was slipping and sliding. I mentioned it to the front desk. I hope none of the elderly guests fell. One of the servers helped themselves to a $10 tip charged to our credit card. Thankfully the front desk caught it. Note we had left cash tips at every meal. Disappointing to see the staff at breakfast at 8 AM still there working at dinner time (7 PM). Pathetic on managements part. Honestly we were not expecting a luxury resort, having stayed at Pocono Palace in the past, but this was unacceptable and we won't be back. The place feels run down. The only plus was the staff. Management needs to invest significant money into improving the resort and stop expecting the staff to carry the entire place on their backs.

Yelp
This was my Birthday Week and we have been here several times at different locations! We are a Gold member and it was by far Fantastic, I came in 2018 days after our wedding and for my birthday, we came in 2019 on my birthday and the rooms are always so gorgeous, loving atmosphere and so much to do! I returned again after my traumatic brain injury from a accident, and it didn't seem like I would enjoy myself but it was once again phenomenal because that time I had the Champagne jacuzzi and as always a pool and sauna in my room. This year although on a walker, still have vision issues and battle PTSD and a brain injury, but i wanted to liveeeeeeeee beyond my limits. Although the person who T-boned my car changed my life, I wanted to embrace my life and enjoy my chapter 52! This was a beautiful birthday week but different, not because it everything was different, snowed on my birthday as we arrived 02/02/25. The Elegant dinner setup that they did Special for me, the napkins was folded like a heart, our table stood out, I had a wine bottle and rose waiting for me. The food was soooooooooo Beyond upscale and tender and perfect!!! Joleane/joslhlein our server went beyond the call of duty, please look her up management at the Cove Haven 7pm dinner 02.02.25 and it was a snow storm we were sooo worried for her commute away, because we knew she was going to be back for our breakfast. I have never felt sooo special, she didn't know of my disabilities or insecurities because she went beyond the job duties, We had a great management that took care of us, and we ended up staying a extra day because I didn't want to leave and go back home. We went to the game room, it wasss so much better than year 2018, it's top of the line bowling pac-man hubbies favorite, ice-hockey I mean everything felt like a 5 plus star restaurant and setting! It has always been over the top and I have years of pictures and memories, but this timeeeee was magical.... We checked out of our room on Tuesday afternoon and into another room (from apple to cove harbor) the same time because we just couldn't resist the peace, love, attention to detail, food and friendly service. And lets not forget Jeffery Jr!!!!! he was so attentive, joyful, friendly, that we can't wait to return and the cook, whoever she is was beyond measures the evening manager was a great addition to the evenings and we enjoyed talking to him because he's from NYC bronx and my husbands from NYC brooklyn so they noticed one anothers accents.

Yelp
Cove Haven is nestled in a wonderful spot in PA, the grounds are spacious and there is so much to do. They have couple activities for everyone and wildlife is literally at your feet. Thereis a bar/game room that was so much fun. The room was very romantic, from the round bed to heart shaped juccuzi. The place is well kept and very clean. Dinner and breakfast were included, and it was at best okay. Cove Haven is definitely a must go destination for any couple looking for a romantic weekend getaway.

Yelp
Rooms (jacuzzi jets in the tub are obviously rarely cleaned). Filled the tub for a bubble bath for two, only to notice brown specks in the bubbles. Drained the tub and this was the result. We needed to shower after our bubble bath (turning the washcloths brown). Food was meh. Not worth the $500 price tag for one night with two included meals.

Yelp
After visiting Poconos palace their sister resort we decided why not give this property a visit. We booked memorial weekend for Sunday- Tuesday & it ended up being a great call. We arrived early by 2 & the room was not ready, bummer but no biggie we headed to the pool area which had activities, music & a bar so why not! Our room was ready at exactly 330pm check in time initially we came back got our keys then settled in & headed back out. We got room #106 the Garden of Eden suites it looks exactly the same as in the Poconos palace which we expected, room was clean, decent toiletries & of course gotta love your personal pool. Only complain w the room was the bed, it moved & by that I mean it really moved around it was not nailed down & should have been the moving around was annoying. Meals were covered for breakfast & dinner, good buffet style breakfast simple enough but with enough good choices , Fresh Waffles, Eggs, bagels, fruit, yogurt & cereals. As for Dinner first u start w the salad buffet it was great, plenty of greens & fixings.. several choices not bad & on the dessert the Apple crisp was very tasty. The Pool & bar area was nice, cute little heart shaped pool. They offer a variety of activities at the property which is nice & gives u options on what to do. Mini golf, Bar, Spa .. a little something for everyone. Down by the lake it is beautiful u have a few activities u can book, we did the boat ride which was a nice way to see the lake side part, The scenery is lovely. The property grounds bring on quite a lot of Deers they sell food for u to feed them so they are not shy about being all over the grounds kinda nice to see. As for the resort it really does need a good facelift seems like a lot of the rooms are emptied or being worked on. It's a nice resort space & with the right upgrades it can really shine. My high rating is because everything for us ran smoothly & we didn't have any issues w anything we did or our room so we were pleased with our visit.

Yelp
spent 3 nights this past weekend in the garden of apple eden suites. It was an okay experience overall. the property is pretty dated and would be wonderful with a renovation. I'm a little bit of a germphobe and it took me a bit of coaxing to be comfortable in the in-room pool. there was carpet in the pool area and it looked quite disgusting from being exposed to water over time. we could smell chlorine so we knew it was somewhat clean but you could definitely tell the place hadn't been seriously cleaned in ages. same for any public restrooms throughout the resort, they were all pretty gross. the women's did not toilet paper (except on the floor) and the men's were overflowing with urine in the urinals. we chalked most of the disappointing maintenance to being the offseason in the resort. the food was also buffet style at breakfast, which was pretty disappointing. the fruit was squishy and old, the bacon was undercooked. we decided not to go back and find somewhere local instead. the actual dinner at the restaurant on saturday night was advertised as steak and scampi night. It was very disappointing and we did not go back. it took over 30 minutes for someone to take our food and drink orders and bring bread to the table, despite having a reservation. Mainly, it's a wonderful idea in concept but the place is extremely dated and worn out. If they did a renovation i'd be happy to come back, but with its current state I would not go back as it was just too unsettling how poorly maintained every amenity was :(

Yelp
When we arrived the front desk person didn't know how to check us in. She didn't know how to run the credit card machine. She charged me then recharged me. The heat in the bathroom didn't work. We were told to give the heater time to work. we arrived Friday at 3:30pm. Saturday morning the heat still was not working in the bathroom. we call again to notify customer service. Again we were told to turn the heater on and give it time to work. We again did as we were told. We left to go snow tubing 40 minutes away and were gone for about 3 1/2 hours. The heat in the bathroom still didn't work when we got back. We called customer service again. We were told they would send maintenance to check on it. An hour went by so I called again. About 10 mins later the maintenance guy came. He went into the bathroom. he stated that he would be back with a space heater. That did the trick but we were not able to use the heart shaped tub until Saturday. It was really a bummer to not be able to use the tub and to freeze when taking a shower. Customer service seemed very nonchalant about the whole ordeal.

Yelp
Garden of Eden apple room. Really all that we expected. Sauna never worked but the pool was awesome, the jacuzzi was fabulous and the bed was very comfortable. The rooms are dated but clean. The resort is showing some wear and tear but the staff are responsive and so friendly. This was a bucket list for me and we really enjoyed our stay.

Yelp

Yelp
Let's start with location: 2hr drive from NYC. Lots of open space, green fresh air. It's a great place for a little getaway from the city. We got a room at the Cove Harbor with the tub jacuzzi. The room can use an update, as it seemed a little outdated. This resort included activities, breakfast and dinner. The activities were not as much due to covid but we made the best of it and had nice one on one time. Some of the activities were, archery (indoor and outdoor), mini golf, pool, arcade games and others. They have an outdoor pool (closed due to covid) and indoor pool (opened). The food was not too bad- it was alright. They have different theme every night. We stayed for the international night (Indian,Italian, Mexican) and rare catch (steak, scampi). Alcoholic drinks aren't included but you will find a solution for that :). Hmm let's see what else- they had shows here and there through out the day, comedy, bingo, and game show games. They were eh. The place I would say had more older couples- a few around the 20-30 range. But I enjoyed the quietness because it was very empty (either due to covid or for other reason ) lol The staff: wonderful staff. So friendly and caring. 5/5 for them. They had conversations with us. Laughed with us. The room: it just needs to be updated!! It just looked old school 1980s or earlier. I think because it a lot of things were closed l-the price should of been reduced. I don't think it's worth the price. However the experience with my partner was well worth it.

Yelp
This place is absolutely terrible. It should honestly just be shut down. Check in is at 3:30 pm my boyfriend and I got here at 4pm we didn't get checked into our room until almost 6:00pm for them to tell us our room is ready. The bathtub was filthy there were bugs, dirt around the fireplace, the sheets and towels were disgusting. We make a complain about it on the first day we get here. We make a complaint the Next day and we aren't in our hotel from 10:30 to 6:00pm the room is still filthy make another complaint go to dinner. Come back we only have new sheets and towels. I had to get on my hands and knees to clean up the roses that we asked to get cleaned up. While on my hands and knees I am covered in filth. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned since the 1950s when they opened. I wish I could give zero stars. I was so disappointed the entire weekend. I cried the waitresses were rude. Honestly do not spend 1000 dollars to come here because there will still be left over hairs in the whirlpool. Save your money go to kalahari.

Yelp
This was our first time as we wanted to go somewhere very special for our 10 year anniversary. Some pros: huge suite with plenty of amenities: whirlpool jacuzzi, pool in the room, sauna, spacious bathroom, and comfy bed. Dinner was decent. Cons: maid service was non existent. We had a knock on our door at 4 pm at which time we were napping so sent them away. There needs to be more staff on premises. The property is extremely run down: it reminds me of the Catskills from the dirty dancing movie : which can be either totally charming or cheesy. I liked it since I loved the isolated, cozy feel, but it might not be for everyone! The clientele was interesting... super casual, very few people actually dressed up for dinner. Also, there was a heater in the bathroom which we hated and could not turn off. I felt like I was overheating. Also... there should be items included in the price of your stay: a log for the fire, extra blanket in the room, free room service for one meal, etc just to name a few.

Cathi L.

Yelp
I would give it less than a half a star! We checked in and it was freezing. Turned the heat on for over 4 hours (at 85 degrees) and the room was still extremely cold. We called for more blankets and pillows and after 75 minutes we decided that we had to leave. I had go under the covers and was still freezing. The bathroom was like ice. How were we supposed to use the heart shaped tub when it was so cold. Sadly it was not something that we would recommend. Didn't spend the night and asked for a full refund.

Yelp
The bar tender at Spooners was great Today! Tony was super friendly and helpful. He is a great part of cove haven!

Yelp
I'm surprised with all the negative reviews. While there were some cons, I thought this was a very nice and romantic getaway for a few days. We were supposed to be in Florida but thanks to covid we had to stay local and I stumbled upon this resort which boasted a ton of amenities and cool suites. So I'll give my pros and cons but def shout out to the chef Jonathan at spooners and Richard the waiter-they were awesome! Pros-the room! Def stay in the champagne tower, you get your own heated pool, sauna, champagne jacuzzi and fireplace! It was awesome! There's plenty of activities-archery, pool games, tennis, etc. The burger challenge at the sports bar-we lost but it was fun! The staff is friendly. Pool bar drinks were great and the entertainment guy was a lot of fun. Great space to walk around for exercise-plenty of Hills to walk up. Room service is available from the sports bar. Cons-the lake was completely closed cuz of covid-unfortunate cuz most things you'd do as a couple and not with other people anyway like kayaking or pedal boats but at least they're being precautious. There was a cigarette smell when we walked in and a cigarette butt on the stairs of the room. The food for breakfast was not that good but the staff was very friendly. I ordered the red velvet heart cake and balloons as a surprise but they were not in the room when we got there and they came hours after we arrived that it ruined the surprise. There's nowhere to get coffee on site or even a small snack. I would come here again after covid is done to check out the other amenities.

Yelp
One word, awesome. This place is definitely worth every penny. We chose one of the "Champagne Towers" rooms. It was extraordinary to say the least. Very spacious, but still cozy enough for two. A nice size indoor heart shaped mini pool. Also a huge shower, nice hot tub, gorgeous, and comfortable round bed. Lots of mirrors! The cons of the room are: the hot tub is uncomfortable, and it takes forever to fill it. (Still fun though!). Also, the sauna didn't work. At least it seemed not too. The on site restaurant (the coliseum) offered very excellent selections for buffet style breakfast, and 4 course dinner. Lobster ravioli, prime rib, soups, salad bar.... Perfect! Spooners, the sports bar offered a great selection of food not included in our meal package, but priced appropriately. The drinks are a little expensive, and watered down, but that is to be expected. I can't complain! The nightclub had a cool little band (they have different entertainment options every night), and the games, and various activities the resort plans for the day are fun. Bingo, little couples games, a scavenger hunt as well. The ambiance of the entire resort is very peaceful, and promotes a stress free, and reconnecting atmosphere for those seeking refuge from everyday life, even if you're just there for the sex! A bonus, the room we were in, and a few others we could see have one, or no windows. You literally lose track of time, and that's ok! You're there to concentrate on each other, and lose yourself in the moment. The spiritual nature of the land, lake, people, and general atmosphere completely allow this to happen. Oh, and lots of deer. LOTS OF DEER. Buy a bag, and feed them :) You won't regret it, and you will want to come back for more!

Yelp
The ultimate adult camp feeling! Just without sleeping in tents! Staff is amazing, calm, and kind! They are so helpful, and if you notice, its the same folks working different areas! So hard working! I love the experience here, cause it was absolutely loving and exactly how you can picture a love environment. Certainly a nice spot to connect with your partner. We stayed at the Garden of Eden Apple. This place has the hot tub, fire place, private pool, and private sauna! Circle bed, which was decently comfortable, with a huge bathroom. Everything private! I loved the experience. We spent about half a day jumping from tub, sauna, to pool! You have to try it, its a nice feeling. So relaxing too. The food at spoons might not be the best, seems microwaved, so dont actually buy anything with big expectations. The finger foods were great though. And the who spoons spot is cool, with the bowling, plenty of pool tables, mini golf, arcade. This whole location have it all. I would highly recommend staying when the weather is a bit warmer so you can enjoy the other parts of the resort; golf, hiking, peddle boats, etc. i highly recommend this place. The rooms weren't out dated, atleast the one I was in! We loved every moment of this stay, and created great memories here. They have a long list of things available to do here!

Yelp
We stayed in a Champagne Tower suite during the third weekend in August 2021. It was our first time staying at Cove Haven and we will definitely be back!! Is the property a throwback to another era? Yes! Are things a little dated, in both fabulous and not-so-fabulous ways? Yes! But we *loved* our stay at this one-of-a-kind place. First off, the room. The Champagne Tower suite is by FAR the most fun we have ever had in a hotel room. It is so over-the-top and just plain FUN that we couldn't help but go with the flow and have a blast. We drank champagne in the craziest bubble bath we will probably ever experience, and felt so fancy. We turned up the music on our in-room speaker and goofed around pretending to do synchronized swimming in our private, heart-shaped pool. Our room was really clean, smelled a *tiny* bit smoky but not like cigarettes or weed; I think that the couple who had stayed in the room before us may have used the fireplace. Just roll with the cheesiness and you'll have a great time! Outside of our room, we absolutely loved the heart-shaped bar at the Colosseum restaurant, it is truly amazing. The bartender was quick and friendly, and the entertainment for that evening was pretty good! We also swam at the indoor pool in the gym complex, ate breakfast at the restaurant, used the sports/recreation center, went to the gift shop, played mini golf, and walked the nature trail behind the ski chalet. Some of these areas need some TLC, but we had a lot of fun nonetheless. Honestly, the "mid century time capsule" feel was a big draw for us, so if you're aware of both the pros and cons of visiting a property like this, I think you would enjoy Cove Haven. Breakfast was really good and honestly surpassed my expectations. We spent a lot of time using the indoor archery and the adult claw machine game at the sports complex, and enjoyed talking with the staff there who has worked at the resort for 28 years (!) I was disappointed that the boat rental was closed. The nightclub was also closed, and the sports center was on abbreviated hours while we were there. I think that this was mainly due to the fact that so many service and hospitality employers are having a hard time finding staff this summer. In short, if you know that you are visiting one of the only Poconos resorts from the late 1950s that is still in operation, and come prepared for that reality, I think you'll have a blast here. We certainly did and plan to come back. We honestly thought the room itself was worth every penny, just for being so unique and fun! This is truly a one-of-a-kind experience and I'd love to see this place stick around another 60 years!

Yelp
Clean...nice,so much to do.I can not wait to go with all the couples to enjoy all of the included activities.Claudia the housekeeper was kind and very helpful..management please acknowledge her work! The staff is there for you 100%.All my life I saw the Champagne Tower on tv... omg it is what it looks like. The in room pool..the in room sauna...all of it.How they delivered my order of duraflame logs around 2 am all the way up to our room.We had a great time. You know wtf it is before you go,what are these people griping about.Stop it..lol. It is exactly as it advertises to be.

Yelp
If I could leave less that one star, I would. DO NOT COME HERE BY ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. 1. The service at the front desk is AWFUL, worse than that. They only charge a deposit when you do the reservation and not the full amount but send you an email stating the full amount. A friend gift us this weekend and we did not know what amount was charged and as I received an email stating the full amount, we understood we did not have any other charge to be collected AND when we checked in, the manager told us we had 0 balance and ask us for credit card to put a $75 dollars hold. Then, proceed to charge us $740 that supposedly return that same night apologizing and saying again it was a system error and we had 0 balance. The next day we wake up with a charge of now $760 dollars. We go to the front desk and ask about the charge and this very rude lady said to us that we were only charge a deposit of $250 and we were supposed to pay the remaining fee. No problem with that but we complained no one told us this info and anywhere in the check out process says it. She claimed that we were supposed to know this info as all hotels operated the same way and it was my fault because I did not called to do the reservation. IT IS 2022, WHY DO I NEED TO CALL TO DO A RESERVATION? After that, she called the manager and told me, without even looking at me, "speak to him". Again, very rude and entitled. If only that was the end, they ask us to send the card the deposit was charged to VIA FAX (2022?), to charge the remaining fee. We did that right there. But, we woke up today we a charge of now $840 dollars. Is insane, they tell us there is no one who can assist us at the moment. Because they only work from Monday to Friday from 9 to 5. But, is a hotel. Most of the guests will go on weekends and holidays, so how there is no one to help a guest? I will be reporting them to the Better business bureau. Also, the facilities are DIRTY, they are spiderwebs with spiders EVERYWHERE. When you put the card for them to clean your room, they only put clean towels inside, not in the arranged in the bathroom, on the sofa. The "activities" are depressing. We went to happy hour and it was everything but happy. The exact same food everyday. You have to wake up at 7 am to eat breakfast or you won't eat. Dinner ends at 8 pm. If you are 80 years old, who likes to go play bingo, eats dinner at 7 and goes to sleep at 8 pm and don't mind being overcharged for dry food, then go. But if you are not, please go anywhere else. All the front desk look at you like " well what I'm supposed to do" but they do not help you. The servers at food places are holding that place together.

Yelp
I loved everything about our stay. We had everything we wanted in our room (pool, jetted tub, sauna, fireplace, etc). We stayed in the Garden of Eden Apple. The resort itself had all the amenities and we really enjoyed all of the activities and nightly entertainment. The food and drinks were great. The service was wonderful. Couldn't have asked for a better romantic getaway in the Poconos.

Yelp
Omg. Never, ever again. The place is completely run down and some of the buildings look dilapidated . I really question the reviews saying this place was nice. I was so disappointed. This place is an absolute dump and is absolutely not a resort in no way. It was the dirtiest hotel I have ever been in. The whole place is falling down. The tiles were loose in our bathroom. I was scared to sleep in the bed. The food was horrible quality and flavorless. The servers we had during our meals were all very pleasant and quick. There are quality employees at this establishment. It's too bad the ownership doesn't take care of the property. It has a lot of potential but it's an absolute dump. Stay far, far away.

Yelp
We have been coming here for over 15 years. It's a great weekend getaway. We love Dennis our waiter. Haha he's hilarious and makes your dining so much fun. Food is always great but over the past 5 years or so they cut back a lot. Used to have buffets and desert bars, shrimp table, and so much more. The rooms are outdated especially the champagne rooms. Beds are very uncomfortable. Carpets are nasty. But something always brings us back here. Would love to see more updates and renovations. We actually started encouraging our married kids to come try it out. We will be back as long as the renovations continue. Won't mind spending the money if it's nicer.

Yelp
I'm honestly pretty baffled by the low review for this resort. My partner and I had a fabulous time and will definitely be returning in the future. First things first, embrace the cheesiness. Yes, heart-shaped hot tubs and the decor and other accoutrement may be mushy, but this is a romantic couples resort. The basis of some of these low star reviews is the mushiness of it all, but I just implore folks to look at the website! Know what to expect here! My partner and I arrived on Thursday at 3:30. Check in was quick and staff was friendly and helpful. We opted for a newly renovated room, the Harbour Tower. I highly recommend this room. Everything was exactly as pictured! Our room was clean, spacious, and romantic. We had a gorgeous balcony overlooking the lake, a spacious and comfortable round bed, a glass encased shower, and, of course, the famous heart shaped bath! After settling in, we decided to head to the included dinner. I'm not going to lie, my expectations for the included breakfast and dinner were pretty low. I didn't expect the food to be as delicious as it was. I was constantly impressed by the dinner selections. The wait staff was incredibly responsive and kind. Breakfast is buffet style, which is nice, but I love the table service for dinner. My partner and I also took advantage of several of the activities on site. After breakfast one perfect day, we hiked the beautiful (albeit short) hiking trail. We decided to take our time with it and really appreciate the nature. The sign says the trail is about 15-20 minutes, but we easily spent an hour there sitting on the benches near the waterfall and enjoying the scenery. I highly recommend this! We even had the professional photographer take our pictures on the trail - he essentially hiked the whole thing with us to get some premium shots (AND we viewed the shots the next day at the gift shop with no pressure - we only bought the ones we really loved). Definitely take the opportunity to get your picture done! In addition to this, there's daily activities like movies, games, bingo, contests, happy hour, etc. There is also a spa on site, archery, indoor mini golf, an arcade, and a bunch of other great included options. To be honest, my partner and I loved our room and gorgeous view so much we hardly engaged in those, but the ones we did engage in were led by the super friendly resort staff! We spent a total of 4 nights and have not a single complaint about the experience (well, there were less than an ideal amount of outlets in the hotel room, but come on... it was built in like the 60s!). The place was all it set out to be: a romantic, private, fun experience. Bonus tip: GO IN THE FALL. The whole place was gorgeous!

Yelp
Oh my my my...where do I begin? I came here knowing quite well that Cove Haven was a time capsule of sorts...but what I came to find out is that it's actually a fossil. Look. I knew this place would be grimey. But the grimeyness exceeded my expectations. We stayed in the champagne tower suite for four nights and let me just say, there was a lot to be desired. Carpet in the bathroom wasn't a surprise but it certainly was...gross. The tub itself is fun but the pool in the room had no light. A maintenance guy came by but left to get a lightbulb. At first we assumed he was handblowing the glass for it because of how long it was taking. Now I'm not sure if he's still alive because he never returned and alas, the pool light went unfixed. There was no wifi in the room for the duration of the time because "a storm blew it out." I asked the desk about it a couple of times over the week and each time they said, "we're working on it." By that I assumed they had someone on the roof holding an antenna trying to get it in the right place, but that was not the case. There's nothing quite like having to leave your room and walk down the street to send an email. All of the facilities are dated but not in a way that is charming. Met more spiders than people in the racquet ball center. Large ones too! My fiancé actually walked directly through a spiderweb. Perhaps someone else's idea of fun but not ours. All of the lake activities were closed without any explanation which was honestly the most disappointing part of the experience. I'm sure they're blaming covid for that but I know it's probably a lack of funds/staffing. Without the lake this place is just your unclean grandma's house on multiple acres. Now let's get to the food. If you love those $.50 tv dinners you get at the dollar store, you will LOVE it here. Dinner sent me to the bathroom. Breakfast was worse than fat camp dining hall food. I'd rather live off of airplane food for a month than ever taste the dining options here again. Because of covid, there was no room housekeeping. This made the rose petals that sounded cute on the first day, an eventual nightmare. Nothing like crispy decaying flower petals strewn all over your room for the entirety of a trip. We both got massages at the spa because there wasn't much else to do. Decent massage but the facilities...oh boy. I joked to my fiancé that the gym probably had wood paneling and carpet. Right on the nose. It had both, and not a free weight in sight. The mini golf in the basement is nothing short of terrifying. There really is no spa area. I joked to the massage therapist that the table she had me on was probably from the eighties, to which she confirmed it was. I felt like I was one muscle rub away from breaking it (and I'm 125 lbs for reference). Best part of week was the tiki bar which had some fun drinks and actually edible food. The bands on Friday and Saturday were also great. Everything else though...a real tragedy. There's so many things this place needs in order to survive, and I'm not sure they can afford them. So many repairs, updates, etc. They could start by cooking actual food in the dining room and not just sticking shit in the microwave. Sounds easy enough, right? Also for the price of the stay, at least two drink vouchers a day would be nice so you don't have to bear the place sober. The deer roaming the property were more attentive than any of the staff. I had fun, but only because we were able to leave during the day and eat elsewhere. Advice for the resort? Make sure all facilities are open and CLEAN. Knock down spooners and put an actual restaurant. Turn the blizzard chalet into an icecrram shop/cafe and not just a storage shed. Suites need new showers, carpet, and constant maintenence. I don't see this place surviving past the next couple of years so if you are dying to see for yourself, I would go while you can. Thanks CH for...an interesting time.

Yelp
My husband and I went here for our honeymoon and we had a good time. The dining and activities that were available to us went along with how much we paid for four days and three nights. I was glad that they gave us an itinerary every morning with a list of activities to do throughout the day. We barely had any time to relax in our room, but we were glad there was so much to do. I have to say though, I wish we knew that we were not getting the champagne tower suite like it had listed on the website and that we knew in advance we only had 24 hours to upgrade our package once an email was sent out. I also wish they let us know how many renovations were going on and closed or open.

Yelp
The skeleton of the park remains the same as it was during our honeymoon twenty years ago. Sadly, so does everything else. We stayed in the champagne towers. Loved them. The suite is beautiful. Nice heated pool. A fireplace we didn't use. A sauna we didn't use. Pretty "starlights" in the ceiling mirrors. We got the sweet seductions package which included rose petals scattered all over everything, candles, chocolate truffles, etc. nice! We also got the chocolate covered strawberries and I definitely recommend getting them! We went during the week and it was definitely not overcrowded! The negatives are minor and superficial, but they do detract from what could easily be a 4 or 5 star experience. Most of the staff were very pleasant. There was the occasional bad apple who clearly would have rather been doing anything else. One of the love machine drivers was fairly unpleasant. We didn't use that service again. As stated before, most blemishes were cosmetic. The miniature golf course looks like it is exactly the same as it was from 20 years ago. The deer antlers have been broken off and not replaced. New paint would have helped some of the rough areas. The targets and arrows were in very rough condition on both archery areas. There were some large blemishes on the in-room mirrors. About 30% of the stars no longer lit. Tile in the bathroom floor needed to be grouted again. The in-room bathroom was really small. The public bathrooms were all in a state of disrepair. The main bathroom in the sports palace wouldn't flush. Several of the stall doors wouldn't latch or had no latch (spa). The driving range was closed because they needed to fix the deck. The food was okay. There was more than enough to eat and plenty of choices. My favorite was the chicken cordon bleu and my wife loved the chicken Milanese. Twenty years ago we had to sit with other couples unless we specifically requested to sit by ourselves. Now you have to request to sit with others. That was a plus. The entertainment was pretty good. Loved the juggler comedian. We missed honest Phil, they had no real replacement for him. The deer on the lawns were very cool. You can buy food for them in the gift shop. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves and will probably be patrons again.

Yelp
My wife and I spent the night there for our second wedding anniversary. My wife had her heart set on the champagne tower. when we arrived to our room we noticed how dirty everything was and a horrible mildew smell. The hot tube had looked like it was not cleaned in a very long time as there was dirt at the bottom of the tub. The bathroom door did not close and when we took a shower the hot water would turn cold after only 2 minutes. The bedroom was located right above the sauna. We had the air conditioning on full blast and it was so uncomfortable we could not sleep due to it being so hot in there. We had a dinner reservation at 8:30 that night. We get there at 8:20 and check in with the hostess. She tells us we can not be seated until 8:30. We said ok that's fine, we stood to the side and said please let us know when our table is ready. After about 15 minutes later the line for the 8:30 reservations started to get long. I asked the same host if our table is ready. She said I will have to get back in line if we wanted to be seated. I told her we have been waiting here for about 20 minutes and I thought we already checked in. She said all these people are waiting too you will need to get back in line. She was incredibly rude and unprofessional. To not make more of a seen we got back in line. The next day my wife wanted to get a few items at the gift shop. As we were cashing out I gave the lady cash. She looked at me and seemed very upset. I said is everything ok. She said, well you gave me cash I do not want to touch money and the one person behind you is going to be upset because they have to wait for me to give you change. To not make matter worse I just paid with a card. My wife had her heart set on a nice romantic overnight. However, with the dirty, smelly room, rude customer service our night stay was ruined. We will NEVER go back there and I am recommending anyone that reads this do not waste your money at the Cove.

Yelp
This was my mine and my husband's first trip in close to 30 years. I expected much more. Don't let the commercials fool you. Rooms are old and beat up (please see photo, I wish I had taken more as quite a bit of paint was chipping around the room and the "balcony" was a complete mess.) The person who took my reservation was not well trained as you can see by the photos I was told there was a fireplace (hence they put the log in a nook) I paid for 2 extra packages, they were NOT worth the price. One included sparkling cider in lieu of champagne , I was given no discount nor an opener for the cider. I also spent quite a bit of money in the gift shop but was informed of the points I "could" have received at check-in when we checked out. Perhaps a bit more training would help. 4 out of 5 meals were ice cold, what a let down! The saving grace here are the amenities (disregarding no towels at the pool and spa) were great and the people working there were lovely!

Yelp
It is sad to see how little upkeep has been done to the physical structure of the rooms. Peeling wallpaper tears in carpet (note pics). Also, the food which used to be top notch is mediocre at best. Why a three then, because the servers and staff are outstanding. I would like to give kudos to gena (server) and Danny (cxo) are two of the reason the stars are not lower. They were phenomenal. Also the entertainment was solid. We also dealt with an ant problem. In fairness to the management we did get refunded a portion of our payment. Hopefully they will invest wisely and that in itself will make it worthwhile to return.

Yelp
First of all if you can't pick up from the website this is a different type of couple resorts. I stayed at cove heaven in the champagne room. It's sort of like a cruise on land. If you can't tell from the website the 80's decor hasn't changed in 20 years and that adds to the charm. Due to this things are worn and some things are not in great shape. Despite all this the bones are good and charming. Depending on what room you get it has different amenities but there is always a heart shaped something. We had a heart shaped pool, the 7 foot champagne tower, and a sauna. The room it self is enough. It's the staff makes the experience really memorable. Most of the staff have been working there for more than 20 years and that says a lot about a job. They take care.of their employees so they take care of their guests. We absolutely loved the waiter Chris and Tracey. They really went above and beyond to get gluten free food. All the staff worked hard to accommodate my gluten free and vegetarian diet. The cxo staff also were fun! BILL AND STEFAN were great. I loved bingo with bill and stefan is so passionate about his job. Overall great experience and it was really nice to experience our honeymoon in a time of covid-19. Would love to see the carpets updated in the room to something more sustainable and easier to clean. Would go here again!

Yelp
I don't know what to say but.... That was one of the worst resort experiences. The pictures of the room on their web and the real rooms are quite different. I was supposed to stay there for 2 nights but I could not stay with it. I waisted lots of time and money... Price: Too pricy for the quality. Customer service: Restaurant staffs were good but front desk clarks were horribly rude. Room: Old and cheap tobacco smell. Mirrors and walls are pretty beat up. Big space tho. Food: Breakfast buffet is up to your choice. Most dishes didn't look good. So I ate only fruits. No salad unfortunately. Activities: They charge resort fee but no so many free activities.

Yelp
I was not pleased at all I stay in hotels 3-5 times a week. The room was scorching hot when I entered and the floor was soaked, the room had 1 towel and no soap, ironically right outside my door was body wash, bar of soap and dirty gloves on the ground. I called the front desk and explained everything he says "I'll have someone come take a look at it" never bought soap a guy came with a towel and wiped up the floor. The AC leaked all night and the floor and carpet was soaked. I paid almost 400 dollars thinking I was going to a nice resort this place was a terrible experience they even left a cup that had Hennessy in it from the last person that rented or employee that was hanging out in the room.

Yelp
Went to Cove Haven this weekend for the Southern Rock Fest - had an amazing weekend! There were bands, comedians and special events planned all weekend. We go there several times a year, but have never been here for this event - can't wait til next year! Love going there & spending time with the hubby! We enjoy interacting with the staff - everyone is always so personable & friendly ..... they make it so welcoming there & are the reasons we keep coming back! I love animals so feeding the deer is right up my alley. We bring them food each time we visit & usually get a good turnout lol If you've never been and are looking for a fun getaway - try it out! Don't read ty reviews-make your own decisions. The amount of fun you have is on you! The activities are there if you choose to participate. There's other things to do in the area as well -antler ridge winery, casino, brewery, bushkill falls .... venture out ... fun things to do while you're there We enjoy the time away relaxing - forget Work, put the phone down and just enjoy life! The decor is dated, but fitting for the resort - it's not the ritz Carlton, but it's clean and we've never had any issues.... it's a themed resort .... the decor is fitting .....where else could you go and have a heart shaped pool in your room.... so unique! The grounds are well maintained and it's nice to just walk around ...... There's a sports club with indoor archery, games, tennis, ice skating, racquetball..... in the lookout lounge (overlooking the lake) you can find a pool , hot tub, golf, deck overlooking the lake, paddle boats, boat rides, kayaking ..... spooners has games downstairs, basketball court, movie area, pool tables, food & bar.... There's a relaxing outdoor pool & bar ideal for nice summer days! They have events out there throughout the summer / fun times! Thanks cove haven for another fun trip!

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here for my birthday on last Monday to Wednesday. Mount Pocono was pretty crowded more than I expected. All the leaves were started to turn yellow and red were very beautiful. I was going to book Paradise stream because if you would like to go on weekends it would be less expensive but weekdays were the same price so decided to stay in Cove haven for more activities. Most of activities were open I believe. They were working hard to sanitize equipment after use. Some of the people were not wearing masks though. I saw reviews about their food isn't good so I didn't book with dinner. ( Breakfast came with the stay because they have discount after pandemic. ) We both expected to find something good to eat around if we drive. However a lot of place close on Monday or closed early so it was hard to find the restaurant. The resort is on pretty much middle of no where so we book dinner in the resort on our second night. It was $53 for two including soft drinks. The main had few choice came with a cup of soup, salad and desert. It was a great value. Dinner was table service, breakfast was buffet. Actually the food was great. My husband had ribeye cooked just right. I had chicken cutlet with yummy sauce. I would definitely book with both meals next time. Some people were complained they don't have lunch but most of time just chilling in the room anyway. If you have late breakfast and early dinner I don't think I need another meal. Dinner is more than enough so you can take leftover to your room for late snack. The room don't have microwave though. They should put it. The room gets some flies, spiders, bugs but yeah... it's middle of the mountain. We kept open the door to unload our stuff. We understand that. Only a thing we didn't like was the bed. We booked the most expensive room in the resort so they have to have a nice, comfortable bed. They need to change the matless. It was like huge hole in the middle so we couldn't lay flat. Matless was pretty dirty so we could tell it's old. Time to get new one!! Not last but least, we would recommend you to bring your own wine / champagne, glasses, bucket. They are really expensive if you get them in the resort. I personally think this is suite room so better come with wine glasses and bucket but they will just sell you. If you need, Walmart is 20 minutes drive away.

Yelp
Stayed there in Sept 1967. Yes 1967! That's when it was strictly a Honeymoon Resort. You checked in Sunday afternoon and left the following Sunday morning. Upon arrival everyone gathered in the main dining hall at round tables, seating four couples. These were to be your meal companions and at special events. All meals (3) were family style. You could even order a Continental breakfast and have it delivered to your suite. The Master of Ceremonies (Bernie) was a comedian and arranged all the nightly entertainment. One night was hypnotist, another was a formal dinner dance, forget what else. All of this for $295! I still have the receipt and the buttons with our name. The price was dependent on the style of room. The only extra was for the photo album and the photographer, and he even came to our suite. Don't remember cost, maybe $50.

Yelp
Me and my honey were looking for a nice romantic weekend getaway. I've been here before (7 years ago) and had a decent time in the champagne tower suite. So despite the reviews of the Juliette room, I booked it on Groupon and crossed my fingers. Now, when booking through Groupon or any other "off" site, you will be required to pay around $27 per day for a "resort fee" that is not included in the room rate. I knew this when booking, so it was no surprise to me. We checked in on a Saturday in August planning on only staying one night. Check-in was pleasant with a gentleman whose name I didn't get. We arrived around 4:30 pm so there was no line. We got into our room (Juliette), which was in the building behind the gift shop. My first impression was that it was really clean. There was no musty or mildew smell that others reported AT ALL. It was a little "dated" but nothing to complain about. There was a mini fridge and coffee maker (no microwave, but we didn't care). There is a walk-in shower and heart shaped hot tub. The water pressure in the shower could've been better, but no big deal. We also only had two towels in our room. Typically when I stay at other hotels, there is no less than four (I have A LOT of long hair, so I myself use two towels...one for my hair, one for my body!). So it would've been a little more convenient to have more towels in the room. The round bed was very comfy. I was so pleased with the room that I actually called the front desk to extend our stay one more night! Jessica was very helpful and friendly. Actually, at no point did I experience any rude staff. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. FOOD: Saturday night was the steak the lobster night along with a salad bar--we had dinner reservations for 7:30 and the food on the salad bar was running low. I recommend getting there a little earlier. It was very good and my steak was perfectly cooked (medium rare). Service was a little slow, but given the fact that the wait staff has so many tables to take care of, we were forgiving of this. The breakfast buffet the next morning was just ok...they ran out of turkey sausage (my boyfriend doesn't eat pork) by 9:30 a.m. Then I found a hair in my chipped beef--ick! The scrambled eggs were pretty good and my boyfriend liked the French toast. They have something for everyone. The dinner buffet on Sunday night was ok. There wasn't really anything that "wowed" me but nothing to majorly complain about either. The cheesecake here is AWESOME. Definitely try some dessert! They had a lot of activities and things to do. We went on a boat ride around the lake, painted a picture together (cost extra), went swimming and used the hot tub (both open 24/7), played video games (not much of an arcade, but they had air hockey and we love that!), played pool, archery and went for a nice walk. The deer on the property will walk right up to you so you can feed them. Michael, the CXO was a little cheesy but funny. We saw a funny comedian and magician and overall we really had a great time. If you come here with the intentions on having a good time and making the best of it, then you will. If your a fun couple who can make the best out of things like we are, then I highly recommend that you visit. If you come to look for all the imperfections and to be judgmental, then you'll find that too. Your visit is what YOU make it. TIPS: Bring your own alcohol, although you can't take it into certain places, their drinks here are definitely a little overpriced and sometimes taste watered down. Bring your own swim towels. The entire time we were here, we never saw any towels in the pool area. Get to dinner as early as possible to avoid them running out of food. They had a charcuterie area on the dinner buffets, but by the time we got to dinner on Saturday night there was barely anything left. And I didn't notice them filling it. We got to dinner earlier on Sunday night and there was a ton of charcuterie items and it was really good. Last but not least, HAVE A GOOD TIME!!!! Don't take things so seriously!! Make the best of it!! Make sure to grab a "Hot Spot" every day that will tell you all the activities and things going on that day. You can grab them just about anywhere, but they have them at breakfast so it was really convenient. They have a lot of adult themed activities that are loads of fun and you are guaranteed to laugh and have fun.

Yelp
My husband and I had a great time here for our 5th year wedding anniversary. I was expecting the worst but to my surprise everything was decent; no complaints. Spooners restaurant was like your typical bar food spot where bingo is played and other billiard games. The "resort" does still give circa 70 vibes but that's the nice part about this place. As an 80's baby, I wanted to see where my parents went on their honeymoon as I was curious. The champagne tower room was awesome and dinner was great.

Yelp
Let me just tell you don't trust the pictures you see on the websites .... They are from when they opened not current at all. We travel a lot and wanted to go somewhere we thought was gonna be better than our last 3 vacations this year. This place is horrible as far as how these expensive Champagne Tower rooms. They are not worth the 300 plus dollars nightly. They are outdated dirty and I believe they haven't been maintained for a while. Just look at the other reviews! We had no internet , but was advertised to have. The internet/Wi-Fi is only available in the restaurant like spooners and Cupid lounge with the big LOVE SIGN. The mirrors around the large champagne glass are cracked also the mirrors on the ceiling are damaged. There are supposed to be lights over the bed also... they don't work.. they will say they are waiting for a part to repair them. The fireplace when lit will smoke up the whole room and the fire alarms will not sound off. There is a loud noise coming from under the steps that lead to the bedroom also from the super loud upstairs outdated air conditioned units. We called the front desk to remedy these issues and got Gary the guy that laughed when we wanted to switch rooms or get the items repaired. He said we don't have any more clean rooms. There is no way that they cleaned these rooms before we got here because if anyone checked this room they would've said it isn't ready for a person to occupy. This was confirmed by the guy that came to clean the pool the next day only after we had a second day of complaining to get relocated or the items repaired or/cleaned . No one ever came to remedy the large AC or sounds from under the stairs. Honestly the only thing that is saving this place is the staff at the restaurants and the gift shop! They were so amazing and I hope they are being taken care of! But if they don't take care of their customers they are most likely not taken care of their staff. We stayed for 3 nights and not one time during complaining to the front desk was there 1 we are sorry about anything. Or we will make things right or do anything complimentary . This is not the way to run a business . People go there for a romantic getaway , but the problems at this place will have them thinking..... STAY AWAY.

Yelp
We only stayed for a few hours before we got to check in then we saw how disgusting the room was. We brought the champagne Tower room and were extremely disappointed as you can see from the pictures the room was extremely dirty it did not seem like they wipe down chairs, couches or counters. The starlight's over the bed was dirty with hand prints and were broken. The room looked like it had not been updated in years and it was falling apart. Extremely disappointed hoping to get our money back because we didn't even stay the night after seeing the levels of dirt in the room we were completely turn off from sleeping somewhere like that. For the price of the room it should be more up to date or at least everything broken should be fixed.

Yelp
This place could have been cool but under COVID nothing was open. I can see the potential but everything good about it was closed although they charged the same. the lake, canoes, sports area, pool and entertainment all closed. Still cost a pretty penny! They should have charged half since 3/4 was closed. Our only entertainment was to sit around a fire with other renters. it's unfortunate because yes, it's older which is part of the fun but feel like we got robbed using "COVID" as the excuse. We got engaged that weekend and found waterfalls to go to off resort so we still found a way to make the weekend special but it wasn't what my fiancé envisioned. He was disappointed as he wanted to plan this special weekend for us and the resort wound up being a flop.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I came here this weekend, and we had a great time! First of all, I recommend going in with the attitude that this place is "delightfully cheesy" and you won't be disappointed. We stayed in the Juliette suite which is the basic room. Overall, the room was exactly what we expected. It had fireplace, sunken living room, rotund bed, and a heart shaped tub! The girlfriend and I brought our own bleach wipes for the tub, because if tubs could talk.. ya know what I'm sayin??? Anyway, yes, I am glad we brought our own wipes. *see picture But besides that, the room was fine. This place has a gift shop, in which my opinion should sell more sex toys and "couple related" items instead of the junky tchotchkes they sell. The merchandise is ok, but some of it seems irrelevant to the couples retreat environment. We enjoyed the amenities included in the stay. Cove Haven offers a ton of activities including archery, bocci, swimming, movies, among other things. Clearly, the budget has gone towards paying for the amenities, and that's ok. Everything is updated and new for the most part. We did not eat at the restaurant at all. We wanted to check out the surrounding area. (Not a bad meal once btw) But the bar in the restaurant and the bar in the lounge were quite pleasant. The restaurant bar was delightfully tacky. It's a giant red heart coupled with mirrors through out the area. The bartenders were quite pleasant and made a good drink. The lounge bar was a different vibe, but still good. We had the pleasure of listening to the soundscape of DJ Neil. On both nights, we had the same bartender and he was stellar! Dude knows how to read a room and make a drink. He was an excellent bartender. Overall, we had a romantic weekend and would comeback in a few years! Hopefully next time we can afford the champagne suite!

Yelp
I had mold all around my pool, a cold pool that never heated up. My sauna didn't heat up either. All the light switches were dirty- layers of dirty like the room was occupied by maintenance or mechanics. My red bathroom tiled floor was the best part of the bathroom since it looked like it was in an 70's overdose drug scene. The small shower and wall paper/paint was there since the 50's. The food has no flavor, the restaurant is outdated with mirrors everywhere like it turns into a disco or haunted house. Checkin was weird. The front desk acted like it was the Grand Hyatt DC with massive checkins. With one customer at the counter, we were next. We waited in line at least 30 minutes hearing so many rooms calling with complaints and maintenance requests, then we were told our room wasn't ready and waited 5 hours after checkin. Then we were given a room surrounded by construction, dump trucks, labors, etc. For $1500, we should have used our passports. We actually spent more buying cleaning supplies and food. This was very disappointing. It was a surprise birthday gift so I didn't complain to my husband who was definitely embarrassed. There were spiders everywhere and the cobwebs forced us to walk in the grass where it was muddy and mixed with deer poo. I've sent a message through Facebook and no one ever contacted me for at least a partial refund. This is really a run down motel. Our room key never worked without trying at least ten times.

Yelp
This place is not worth $300 per night The pool is disgusting, the jacuzzi has a film of grease, its just plain nasty. I will not get in either and get a vaginal infection. DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE. I never do reviews especially bad ones but paying $355 for 1 night at this place isnt worth it!!!!!

Yelp
2 orders of my French onion soup, both room temperature. The first one I can understand it wasn't hot, the second one I ordered the waiter says" I hope it's hot" once again it wasn't HOT! Very disappointing, it seems like they do not care. Unfortunately it's still a very disappointing experience with our meals as well. The salad we ordered was brown!
