Yelp
It seems most exceedingly odd that my previous review of Covert/Azur/Nichlelson Jones wineries is gone.
This young upstart of winery should have many of its competitors shaking in their boots or at the very least green with envy.
The quality of the wines cannot be overstated: They are that good. And while there are other new wineries on the scene, this one is worth you time, attention, and patronage.
Be forewarned: These are not cheap wines!
Before you go on a tare about another expensive wine among many in a region overcrowded with wineries I beg you to give pause. There is a reason these wines taste so good: They are made with artisan craftsmanship evoking not only the terroir but the quality of good fruit and the attention to detail given by a master of wine craft. The wines sing: Not literally but in your mouth, on your palate and long after you swallow! There is a reason Coombsville is a rising AVA...Covert estates has made a significant contribution to this reputation.
Mind you, it doesn't hurt having good staff and a good tasting room too! Unlike many wineries, the experience you have at Covert is personal. Rebekah Allen, one of the people who lead the tastings is professional, courteous, and generous. The tastings, whether they occur in the new tasting room or up in the house, either place is beautiful, well appointed, and whose ambiance only adds not subtracts from the wine drinking experience.
In short, consider this a must stop.
