22 Stellar Spots for Waterfront Dining in San Diego

"Looking out onto Mission Bay, Covewood has boosted its daytime menu with items like Kubota pork po’boy and squash tagine. Toast the sunset with shareable plates like coconut mussels and a refreshing cocktail." - Helen I. Hwang

Holy guacamoly. We ended up having an impromptu Sunday lunch and boy were we blown away. Service is top level, ambience and decor is perfect. But the food, omg! Coconut curry mussels and burger to share and we were blown away. Key lime pie for dessert was thicc and decadent. This is an extremely lucky find in Mission Bay and will be our new happy hour from now on.

We always enjoy coming here to Covewood (and it's predecessor) - it’s been our go-to spot for special occasions, my real estate business lunches and networking, and for introducing out-of-towners to that wonderful “Hawaiian resort-style” atmosphere the property is known for. The food is consistently very good, which keeps us coming back several times year after year. Where things can be a bit unpredictable is the level of attentiveness in the service. To be clear, the staff is almost always warm, friendly, and polite — that’s never been the issue. The inconsistency comes in the follow-through: refills and check-ins can be hit or miss. Over the 20 years we’ve been dining here, there have been more than a few times when a simple second glass of wine or cocktail was missed because no one checked back in time. It’s safe to say the hotel has likely lost out on hundreds of dollars in additional beverages from us alone over the years because by the time someone circles back, the meal’s over and we’ve decided to have that after-dinner drink elsewhere. But, we obviously enjoy it enough to keep coming back and I do highly recommend Covewood as a fun atmosphere and enjoyable dining experience!

Google
Absolute gas. Pork chops were unreal, the lobster mac was elite, and the vibes were perfect. The espresso martinis? Straight rocket fuel. Warm fudge brownie and toffee dessert were unreal too

food was DELICIOUS and Melissa’s apple crisp was so good it almost made me cry tears of joy. Anna was a great server who helped us with gluten free options and Luke was very polite. All around enjoyable experience!

Had an excellent Mother’s Day brunch at Covewood! A beautiful resort restaurant with ocean views, exactly what vacation should feel like. We had the set menu, and ordered the leek & potato soup, fig flatbread, monte cristo, duck breast, peach cobbler, and fudge brownie. Everything tasted amazing. We also had pineapple and grapefruit mimosas and a draft beer. Loved it. We sat on the dog friendly patio. We received friendly and quick service from Jorge M, Juan S, and Salvador. Highly recommend, a great place to celebrate!

Google
This place was O.K. Food was fine, not special in any way but not bad at all. I would’ve gone 3 stars if not for the bar tender/ barista. Should’ve gotten his name, guy from Boston, he was fantastic!!! He’s what got the 4th star Also what is the 5% surcharge BS? Why not just raise the prices or something?

After a wonderful massage on Sunday, I enjoyed lunch at the poolside bar, and it turned out to be the perfect way to continue a relaxing day. Steve G was tending the bar, and I ended up staying much longer than planned after finishing my meal. The drinks were refreshing, and both Steve and the waiter staff were incredibly welcoming. The view of the bay was just what I needed to truly unwind and find my happy place. Thank you for the warm hospitality, I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

Google
My wife and I ate here in April shortly after our wedding ceremony on the hotel property. The food was great, and the service was even better. Jorge M. And Juan S. gave us amazing and personalized service throughout our meal, and made us feel right at home. I highly recommend dining here!

Yelp
Really enjoyed our visit to Covewood. The restaurant is comfortable and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed our meal on the patio with a view of the water. Additionally, we enjoyed several orders from their kitchen via room service, They've got a good selection of gluten free options. I was a fan of the açaí bowl minus the granola, the short rib, and the bone-in ribeye. My son enjoyed the pb&j, the açaí bowls, and the kid's pizza.

Yelp
We were here for the dragon boat festival and decided to have dinner Saturday night. Friendly staff, we placed our order and it took long, it was so long that the waiter apologized and brought us a complementary soup which was delicious. Once our meals arrived they were not hot, warm at best. Food was good but it doesn't make up for the fact that it was not hot when served. 1st impression was not the best .

Yelp
I had reserved and payed for 8 rooms at Mission Bay Resort through Costco travel for my husband's birthday this past Saturday. I had also reserved Covewood for a party of 27 that evening at 7pm. All went well and as planned until around 8:30pm while we were in the middle of eating our main entree when your security called me and appeared at the patio telling me that one of my guests has broken the glass of the wall art in the men's bathroom. He not only interrupted the dinner, but was demanding the ID of the teenager who supposedly broke the glass of the artwork. He told me that since it's my party, then I have to pay for the damages. I gave him my ID to take a picture of. Then he left. My husband checked on the teenager, and he was in the room by then. He says that he was in the bathroom stalls when he heard the shattering of the glass. We checked his hands, no signs of any cuts or bruises. Now, I'm being held responsible for the glass and got billed $1000 for it. The resort billed my credit card on file without my agreement. I feel like this is a joke and am very disappointed. I have valuable artwork at my house that I have custom framed with glass for $200. You and I both know that replacing the glass of that inexpensive "printed art" should not cost $1000. It is absurd that you take advantage of your guests charging such ridiculous fees for something that you don't even have proof of. There's no footage, no proof, no witness that my guest did that and I believe that I shouldn't be charged for that. After the security left my table, our guests were shook from the unprofessionalism of your staff. My husband went in and talked up the restaurant manager, who told him not to worry about the glass damage, that it is not a big deal, and to go back and enjoy our party. At that point, we didn't even finish our entrees, most people didn't even eat their dessert. I payed the $2700 bill and left to our rooms. Our event was not only ruined, I wasn't able to sleep all night, just trying to reprocess everything that happened. I spent over $6000 at your resort and regret my decision of organizing the event at your resort. This was our 4th stay there. Every stay has been with multi families booking multiple rooms and large parties at Covewood. Moving forward, I will take my business elsewhere as the area is saturated with many beautiful resorts.

Yelp
Food was soooo good! The view was beautiful as well. Live music was a nice touch. We got a free voucher with our spa treatments and it was the icing on the cake.

Yelp
All the above! The food, service, and ambience is five stars. The view of the bay is calm and serene. They had healthy dishes like salads and you can add a protein or some heartier entrees like a burger or club. The club is my favorite and it's so big, you can share it. I recently ordered the shrimp tacos. I'll be back!

Yelp
Celebrated a bday party for our young niece. The service is great and attentive including the awesome staff taking family pics. Wish we could have sat outside but it was raining and slightly cold. The ambiance and set up of the restaurant is superb. Everyone loved their food and they do have a kids menu. The burger had bacon jam and it was so juicy and delicious. We shared the burger and the Benedict. The birria was decent but the eggs were cooked flawlessly and poached so well. The spicy sauce and spicy potatoes were great. Overall would love to come back.

Yelp
I absolutely Loved this Place! There is so much to see! The hotel, restaurant, store, pool beach, Everything is beautiful!!

Yelp
I have a preference for restaurants by any body of water. Covewood Restaurant is one of them. It's located at San Diego Mission Bay Resort offering upscale coastal dishes. I'm always sold on an intimate indoor/outdoor atmosphere. Dining here was very positive. Barrett, the Manager, was a gem. He was very knowledgeable and super friendly. The rest of the staff who came to my table were really attentive. I appreciated them checking on me. Thank you all for the stellar customer service!! I enjoyed each dish. The food was absolutely delicious. When it came down to the dessert, I couldn't finish the apple crisp (Lol). The topping was a little different to what I'm used to. In my opinion, it was more of an apple crumble than an apple crisp. All in all, très chic très bon!!! So good...got me speaking French ;-)

Yelp
Overall: 4/5 Food: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Price: 3.5/5 The food was great and the service was great! We sat next to the fireplace on the patio, with a view of the water, and all of the marathon walkers. The waffle was really good. Light, but still dense, not too heavy. It had a nice crisp on the outside edges, which I really appreciated. The strawberry compote was normal. I prefer maple syrup with mine. I would definitely recommend the waffle if you are looking for something sweet to go with your coffee but not too heavy. Would've ordered the French toast, it just looked heavier. Price wise, it's about $20 a plate for brunch, not too bad. You're also paying for the ambiance. Would I double back? Yessssirski! S/O to my waiter Juan! Very friendly and attentive. Appreciate you my guy.

Yelp
Finished playing pickle ball and a few of us decided to have a cocktail. We had to check-in with the hostess and be seated but never had service. We were left with a menu. One of us went to the bar to order our drinks and then delivered our drinks to us. I ordered the Peach Elderberry Spritz which was made well The setting was pretty with a nice fire pit blazing, Just didn't know why we didn't have table service yet had to be seated by the hostess and given a menu.

Yelp
My coworkers and I had an activity in the area but wanted to get some food before. In addition, we wanted a place that was quiet enough to review some work presentations and had WiFi for us to use our laptops. Covewood delivered on all of that including providing us with a wonderful view of Mission bay. It is technically a restaurant that is part of the hotel but is open to the public. Since it is a little bit secluded there was plenty of seating. The menu is small yet all the food we got was delicious. Portions were quite large as well. The service was amazing. Our server checked up on us constantly and was so friendly.

Yelp
Roy was our server both for breakfast and dinner during our anniversary staycation. He was attentive and friendly, offering menu suggestions. All dishes were on point, avocado toast, veggie omelette, oven baked potatoes, hot and delicious! Dinner selections were wonderful as well. The standout was the miso halibut, amazingly delicious, texture was perfect, moist and tender, highly recommend! Baby bok choy was crisp and charred, tender and flavorful. Hubs had the ribeye with mushrooms and broccolini and thoroughly enjoyed it all. The restaurant itself has a nice open air feeling to it whether you're inside or outdoors on the patio. A very fresh upscale vibe, for sure! We enjoyed our stay and kudos to Roy and his helper,Julian, for their excellent hospitality.

Yelp
We stayed at the hotel- so very convenient- we thought about leaving after reading the reviews- but we stayed. We had an excellent experience! Omar was such a friendly attentive waiter- even showed me how to find an app for things to do in San Diego! We ordered the clam chowder soup- packed with great flavor and clams! The lobster mac had more lobster than most and was tender. Caesar salad was ok. And the mushrooms were great! Also loved my elderberry cocktail! We thought the architecture inside and background music was lovely and varied- we sat in lounge chairs. Did I mention how great Omar was?

Yelp
Food was excellent. Halibut for dinner. Omelette for breakfast. The wait staff was nice but took way too long on breakfast order and checking up on us. Also, last night, the waiter was excellent until we asked for the bill. It took over 15 minutes
google avatar

Yelp
Lovely ambiance, but a bit pricy. Fairly quiet when we went (it's winter and it's a beachside resort), but very lovely location. Wish they had some sort of happy hour, as grabbing a couple of bevvys with your friends is not as enticing when each cocktail is ~20 bucks. The calamari was really good!

Steve C.

Yelp
Food was average. Service below average. We had to wait together refills on beverages. On several occasions had to ask for refills. Our server Roy S., was pleasant. At one point a bus person picked up a dirty dish because one in our party asked to pick up but the bus person didn't pick up any other dishes at the table. I am perplexed why the wait time was not addressed, not was there an apology which makes matters worse is they are not aware. Atmosphere was great, musical was wonderful.

Yelp
It was a quick staycation for my wife and I and we decided to try the restaurant at the resort we stayed at and loved it. We sat outside at sunset and since they had heaters it wasn't cold at all. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable of his menu. From our food (see pix) to the customer service, we enjoyed our time at Covewood. They had outdoor fireplaces and live music as well which made for a great ambience. Crazy story but a little girl began choking on her food and waiter from the restaurant was there immediately and once the girl was okay, he very intentionally began comforting her with talk about Disneyland, princesses, etc. I thought it was very sweet of him.

Yelp
We have dined here occasionally with our dogs in the patio area, while out on a walk along the mission bay. First of all, the bay view is fantastic and the restaurant is so upscale with prices being relatively affordable. The food is especially very flavorful - among my favorite are their mediterranean/eastern dishes which are exotic tasting, comforting and fragrant. Our pups have tried all the items from the dog menu and even the dog dishes are freshly prepared and served at the right temperature. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
The ambiance was nice but the chairs are too low and tables were in an awkward place making the nerves pinch in my leg so bad I had to leave. My mom got our food to go thankfully. The steak was really good but my vegetables were bitter. My mom thought the chicken was dry. I'd say it's way overpriced so I'd feel a lot better if the prices were a bit lower to be comparable to the quality.
google avatar

Elika S.

Yelp
Nice servers and lovely view but the food was pretty mediocre. Some dishes could use more flavor. The cubano sandwich is one you'd get from a hospital vending machine

Iyad A.

Yelp
Incompetent host... This place used to be GREAT... we've been at Mission Bay Resort few times and used to enjoy this restaurant for breakfast/lunch/dinner... My wife & I arrived on 8/21 tired/hungry between lunch & dinner, asked the host for patio seating, he took us to a table with little shade, we asked for other of many open tables for 4, Mr no-personality said no because these tables are for "large parties". The waiter came later, he was nice and seated us at a good table (for 4). The menu was limited, which we're not used to, the waiter explained that options are limited between lunch & dinner. We ordered Cesar salads with shrimp, the shrimp was chewy overcooked, probably reheated? Too bad...

Yelp
Do not get their Chopino or pork chop (unless you appreciate sweet pork). You can't go wrong with their clam chowder, mushrooms, lobster Mac is a must. Overall a bit pricey.
google avatar

Yelp
Pleased to find that the Covewood was a an impressive update over the Aqua (last time we were here). We were there in late afternoon for a burger and a drink. The drinks were very good and the burger was excellent cooked perfectly. Also, the service was on point. I wish I remember the server's name, but he was very friendly and accommodating ( long curly black hair back in a ponytail). I really enjoyed the ambience, the sunset and the experience. We will be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Service was okay, we were there for a Sunday late morning and they had an amazing live singer on the patio, Kinnie Dye! I recommend going when you see her playing, gorgeous voice, perfect for Sunday brunch. Avocado toast and Bloody Mary were exceptional. Toast was fresh and filling.

Yelp
We stayed at Mission Bay Resort during the week of July 4th and had the chance to try Covewood multiple times. I really wanted to give them four stars, but the food was subpar at best. Let's start with the good parts. The ambiance was great, with an ocean view next to the beach. They have a fireplace, which we used one day because it was a bit cold outside, and we had to stay outside due to our dogs. The service tended to be slow at times but always with a smile, very friendly and accommodating. They have a special dog menu for our furry family, which is fantastic. Our dogs tried the chicken dish with farro and carrots. They devoured the chicken and munched on the other items a bit. It came pretty hot with a warning from the waitress. We stirred it a bit and let it cool before giving it to the dogs, and they were just fine. They even had a dessert option with oat milk ice cream and a cookie. Our dogs did not love that one, but they aren't really into cookies, so I wasn't surprised. Our first experience was with dinner. We started with oysters. My son wanted to have 12 of them. After reading the reviews, I was hesitant to order seafood, so we started with six, and we were all glad we only ordered six. We all struggled to finish those. They were not good. We ordered a few more dishes to share. The Noble Garden Salad was the best of all, fresh and tasty. I also enjoyed the scallops. We had side mushrooms which included a few different types of mushrooms. We all love mushrooms, and they usually do not need much sauce. The sauce overpowered the mushroom taste and made the whole dish bland. My son wanted to have pasta and ordered Wild Shrimp Cavatelli, which was the worst I've ever tried with not much taste. We finished with a Vegan Sundae, and while I was happy to see a vegan option, the brownie was cold and dry. Overall, not impressive. For lunch, we tried the mango and jicama salad and wood-roasted cauliflower and portobello. Neither of them was impressive. The taste was pretty average. I'm glad the cauliflower was not greasy, but the taste was average, the same with the salad. The Noble Garden was definitely better. We also tried different breakfast options during the week--pancakes, waffles, French toast--none of them were very good. They weren't bad or anything, but they definitely could have been a lot better. We probably would have dined there a few more times, which would have been really convenient.

Yelp
Covewood restaurant at Mission Bay resort has a great selection for breakfast. Omelette to Belgian waffles over the top dinning. The whole staff was elegant with Tony taking the lead. Seating was perfect and we had a 5 star experience. We recommend both morning and lunch dining here. We will review the other restaurants over the next few days.

KB B.

Yelp
Covewood has pretty views and the outdoor area has nice ambiance, as does the seating area inside by the fire. The rest of the indoor seating looks like a coffee shop and isn't so great. The food is really disappointing, especially at the price. This is just another pretty water front resort with a crappy restaurant, that can get away with subpar food because of the location. It might be worth stopping in for a glass of wine but I would never dine here again. Disappointing!
google avatar

Francheska O.

Yelp
I would have given this place 4 stars but the confusing and frustrating start to our morning dropped it down. I had made this breakfast reservation at Covewood because it was close to our whale watching experience. When we got there we were taken to a bench at an outdoor area that was more of a bar close to the pool with no view. When I questioned the server, I was told the restaurant had been bought out and our reservation had been moved to this small bar area. Our group was not happy with the table so we got moved to another table but it was still uncomfortable. We were finally moved to a lovely table near the harbor at the actual restaurant Covewood. The service after that was good and the food was good too. They comped our drinks for the inconvenience which included mimosas which was nice. Overall I still have them a good rating even though the start was so unpleasant.

Yelp
There is lots to love about the experience and ambience of dining at Covewood, but unfortunately the food left a lot to be desired. Some examples: the beets in the beet salad were flavorless and hard. They somehow boiled all the taste out of them and still left them raw in the middle. I don't know how. My husband's salad was the same way. The giblet tart was inedible. My dad asked if anyone wanted any because he didn't like it and nobody could eat it. It was like hard rubber. The turkey roulade was bone dry and not good. Similarly, my husband didn't like his apple crumble, which is usually hard to mess up! Some highlights were the roast beef with horseradish sauce and green beans. Delicious. The mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie were also excellent. Overall, we paid over $400 (for three people and a kid). Two stars for the wonderful service and relaxing atmosphere. However, given the price and the quality of the food, sadly I can't recommend it.

Yelp
Had reservations after end of traveling day & we're seated promptly. We were the only ones present at the restaurant on a Wednesday night at 6pm (which can be concerning). Ordered drinks & lobster Mac and cheese appetizer. Service was on par no issues there. Lobster Mac and cheese felt like a velveeta cheese? And didn't have any breadcrumbs on top it felt very lackluster. Entrees came & were more impressive. My potato gnocchi was pretty good would've preferred it to have been warmer when it came out? Felt like maybe it sat for a while. Wedge was good as well as the half chicken & sea bass. Overall the problem was too expensive for what you get & the quality? I would understand maybe 120 or 140 but over 225$ for what I received did not make sense? I chalk it up to a nice place for drinks, apps & the view. If your a foodie pass on this one :)

Yelp
We live in San Diego and had our water turned off due to an error with construction on my bday. We were scrambling for a hotel with our twins. We found this quiet hotel with a great restaurant and great staff. My husband got the scallops with guanciale and I got the cedar planked salmon. We had two drinks that were awesome passion and smoke (passion fruit and mezcal) and the Sicilian Summer both were delicious! We really appreciate Barrett, Omar and Juan for a great dinner!
google avatar

Yelp
Really great service & food! Thanks Jorge for taking great care of us & helping me celebrate my birthday

Yelp
The food and decor were definitely a 4, service was very slow (3 stars), despite the restaurant not being full. I had the deliciously prepared Miso Sea Bass with misoyaki, yuzu beurre blanc, wood-charred bok choy, gluten-free. It was moist and flavorful. My drink (it must have taken them at least 30 mins to make) was also very good. I ordered The Passion and Fruit, Del maguey mezcal, with passion fruit and lime.

Yelp
Good food. Limited on selection. Great drinks. Clean and inviting. Staff is good, sometimes feel a bit ignored. Great view and fun atmosphere

Yelp
I'm always on the prowl for new restaurants and I happened to stumble upon this based on a search for a place with a Christmas ambiance. The restaurant is tucked in the Mission Bay Resort and was not difficult to find. We were seated right away and presented with pretty menus encased in plexiglass. It did take awhile for our drink orders to be taken which carried on the rest of dinner. There was significant delays with our waiter coming to check on us and also with us receiving our drinks and food. We sat down at 715pm and received our food at 805pm :(. Granted, there were quite a few people there for a Tuesday, but at least give customers an update regarding the delay with service. The prices for entrees are pricey but it's a resort and I've spent the same amount in other places. Additionally, they were out of several main entrees. Cocktail: Prickly Paloma. This drink had enough liquor in it and it wasn't watered down, thankfully. I did like the tajin rim and it was tasty enough. Appetizer: Clam chowder. I liked this soup. Very hearty with a good amount of clams. I ate half of it and I was full!!! Main: Miso Halibut. I do not recommend this dish. The amount of mashed potatoes was alot in comparison to the halibut. The potato took up the majority of the plate and was topped with Thai Chili sauce and edamame beans. This combo didn't work at all. Im very open to Asian fusion but the mix of ingredients didn't excite my palate at all. Unfortunately, I ate about half the fish and a few bites of the potatoes. I didn't want to raise a concern since I was going to wait for another dish. I got to taste the Seafood Linguine. The positive for this dish is that it had alot of seafood. My kids loved it but I felt otherwise. Dessert: I ordered the pistachio ice cream which came with a cookie. I didn't get to taste the cookie but the gelato was good enough and you get a good portion size. Esthetically, this place is beautiful with a coastal California modern feel. I did like the roaring fireplace in another dining area and the live music on a Tuesday. Mixed emotions with this experience.

Yelp
We stayed at the resort and dined at Covewood. It wouldn't have been our first choice if we weren't on the property but it worked out really well for us. We came in on a Friday night and there was live music. My kiddo started dancing to the music and the musician played up to him, which made it super fun! It was dark and rainy out so we didn't get to enjoy the view, but the restaurant was spacious and had a nice ambiance. The service was decent and our food was good. We ordered the pork lollipops, a hearty salad, the hamburger and a kids mac and cheese dish. I had a yummy drink that I believe was the paloma. Our favorite part was the manager who checked in on us often and even sang the abc's with our kiddo. It was a great way to start our stay at the resort and I definitely recommend Covewood for resort guests, as well as anyone else looking for a delicious meal with a nice view.

Yelp
Great view! Service is SUPER slow...... slow... still waiting They are good at taking payment from you, but not good at making the drink!

Yelp
We dined outdoors last night and had great food and an exceptional waiter. As the evening progressed it was getting cooler and we had asked for an additional heater, there were four of us. We had just finished our meal and were looking at the dessert menu and deciding what we'd have for after drinks when a manager came over and took our heater..We told him we needed it but he took it.. so we left without dessert or after dinner drinks .. not very nice!

Macklyn F.

Yelp
Went with my wife for her birthday dinner and it was absolutely wonderful. The atmosphere, our servers Moses and Juan, the food: everything was perfect. Definitely one of our new favorites!
google avatar

Yelp
Parking for easier access is at the side park. The. You walk up the walkway all the in the back. Once you arrive you are greeted by the most modern waterfront restaurant. George waiter was so inviting and filled with positive attitude it made our lunch even better. Drinks were amazing and lunch was perfect!

Casie H.

Yelp
Our experience at Covewood was good, would've been great if we had a different server. He was polite, but the manager and the gentlemen who I'm assuming was the busser checked on us more than our server did. I was not happy with the mojito I ordered, so I asked the "busser" if I could swap for a different drink. He said no problem, and our server brought out the replacement. There was no apology, no checking on what was wrong with it. When we left, the server pretty much just took our money and walked away. No "thank you for coming in" or "have a great night". Service from the manager and "busser" was fantastic, but service from our server (pretty sure his name was Stephen) was less than average. Tried several times to call and talk to a manager but every time it went to their answering machine. Food was fantastic though, we got the ribeye and potato gnocchi.

Yelp
We stayed at the San Diego Mission Bay Resort. One evening we decided to have dessert at Covewood and well it was not great, I would describe it as mediocre at best. The brownie Sundays tasted as if they were from the day old bakery :( the apple crisp was "ok" the key lime pie was decent. The coffee was awful, like scraped off the bottom of a burnt coffee pot bad. I will say the fire pit and the view of the bay was nice, and the service was great. They were very polite and fast to bring the food and coffee. Would I recommend this restaurant, unfortunately not. It is extremely expensive for what you get. For what they charge they should be top tier. My personal opinion is to order from GrubHub have it delivered and sit on the beach and enjoy the same view and the same fire pit for 1/3 the cost.

Yelp
Unfortunately we didn't know reservations were needed - even as a resort guest. The restaurant wasn't full however we still had to wait and couldn't get an outside table. The food was very good. Restaurant and restrooms very clean. My husband and daughter shared a pizza. I ordered the salmon. We all shared a wonderful dessert. We would probably visit again however we will make sure we have reservations to sit at a regular dining table. The table they placed us at inside was not meal friendly. Especially with children. Just a heads up and friendly tip for future visitors.

Yelp
In the beginning no host to be found at all waited for about 5 mins till someone finally came from the back. Although we wanted to sit by the fire pit right by the bar the host said no one will serve you it'll be self serve so order at the bar. Ok no problem, but wait where is my silverware? No one thought before or after we ordered or even when they brought the food out to give us any silverware. The bartender was very nice and gave us a couple tastings to see what wine we wanted. The shiraz was great! Unfortunately they messed my order up and I said short rib beef he misunderstood and two ppl kept bringing this pasta up to our table I said no we ordered short rib beef he said this is the short rib pasta which I never said pasta. Since my husband is like no problem will take it I said no we paid for the rib beef they simply reordered and I got my tender beef really good but didn't care too much for the greens. They didn't charge us thankfully for their mistake which was nice even though my husband said it was delicious. I personally loved the clam chowder with the toasted crisps bread I'd ask for more I should've just cancelled my beef order since they messed up anyways since I was really full off the clam chowder a must try. Thankfully they have fires pits and heaters to keep you warm when it's slightly windy! The place is beautifully inside try it if your staying at the mission beach resort! I would just suggest the staff to be more attentive to the customers and greet them as you see them.

Yelp
We went on a slow night and the service was good but the food was not great. I ordered three Caesar salads and two clam chowders and the Bill came out to $130. My wife said the salad tasted like it wasn't properly washed. I'll give a five star for the view. It did have a nice ambience and a great view of the bay.

Yelp
Was surprised for a date night here and was impressed. We sat outside initially and I think if they had lights to accentuate the beach it would've been beautiful. It shortly started sprinkling after we sat down and was a bit cold even with the heaters on so we moved inside. Our service was great even with switching tables. They had plenty of gluten free options which was great for me. I ordered the halibut and really enjoyed how crispy the outside was. Definitely would like to come during the day to enjoy the beach view.

Yelp
We had a pleasant welcome from the hostess with a saxo player to add a romatic ambiance, she seated us in a great location, on the patio facing the bay. We started with oysters, which came with vinegar, radish, and ketchup--these sides seemed a bit basic for such a place, oysters were delicious. However, the mussels in coconut milk with lemongrass and kaffir lime leaves were absolutely divine. And also were the salmon served with cream and asparagus was perfectly cooked and dressed in a perfect sauce. Overall, a delightful experience with some minor improvements needed.

Yelp
Warning: they failed at the food allergy to dairy and put cheese on the burger and Parmesan on the fries. Would recommend people with food allergies to use extreme caution if you eat here. Also, the medium well burger has sections of rare/raw. But when pointed out, they did offer to correct it. We stayed at the Mission Bay Resort so we ate a breakfast, lunch and dinner here. Breakfast was a long wait and very busy. Kids loved the lox bagel & French toast. Waffle was nothing special. The salads were good and large portions. The dinner salad with spicy ranch was a really nice twist if you like blue cheese. Dinner was the best meal, everything prepared carefully and was delicious - coconut mussels, miso halibut, rib eye, short rib. Of the desserts, we liked the flourless chocolate cake and carrot cake the best.

Yelp
Thrilled with the quality of food, nutritious options, view and service! Yasmin & Steve handled a very large to go birthday order for a few friends of mine that were relaxing by the bay. Walked in sandy and in my swimsuit and was greeted with smiles and incredible recommendations. - you could choose to get dressed up and enjoy a sweet date night or walk in with a swimsuit and grab a drink at the bar. As a local here I have to recommend!
