Had an excellent Mother’s Day brunch at Covewood! A beautiful resort restaurant with ocean views, exactly what vacation should feel like. We had the set menu, and ordered the leek & potato soup, fig flatbread, monte cristo, duck breast, peach cobbler, and fudge brownie. Everything tasted amazing. We also had pineapple and grapefruit mimosas and a draft beer. Loved it. We sat on the dog friendly patio. We received friendly and quick service from Jorge M, Juan S, and Salvador. Highly recommend, a great place to celebrate!

food was DELICIOUS and Melissa’s apple crisp was so good it almost made me cry tears of joy. Anna was a great server who helped us with gluten free options and Luke was very polite. All around enjoyable experience!

Google
My wife and I ate here in April shortly after our wedding ceremony on the hotel property. The food was great, and the service was even better. Jorge M. And Juan S. gave us amazing and personalized service throughout our meal, and made us feel right at home. I highly recommend dining here!

Spent a few evenings enjoying to atmosphere and live music at Plaza Del Sol and Chris M and Salvador were an absolute delight! Very attentive and fantastic personality. I look forward to my next visit

Food is very good. Brunch plate is amazing. Breakfast menu can be a little more creative but we enjoyed it very much. The service is very good

Roy made our dining experience exceptional. The food was excellent each time we ate there …. breakfast, lunch and dinner. Nobody could argue with perfect weather sitting bayside. When you combine all these with a waiter who greets you with a relaxed, authentic smile and clearly wants you to enjoy your time there… it’s a win win. Nick makes a great Manhattan and Juan L is a jewel. Nonstop care for every patron.

Google
We recently took a family vacation to San Diego, and while our experience had a bit of a rocky start, it turned out to be quite enjoyable overall. The service at the restaurant we visited was fantastic—our server was attentive and friendly, making us feel welcome right away. However, the food was just good, not great. While it was tasty and satisfying, it didn’t quite live up to the high expectations we had based on the reviews we read. That said, the atmosphere was lovely, and the kids enjoyed their meals, which is always a win in my book! Despite the food not being a standout, the excellent service made up for it and helped turn our experience around. I’d say it’s worth a visit if you’re in the area, especially if you appreciate good service and a pleasant dining environment. We’re looking forward to trying other places in San Diego on our next trip!

I loved the coffee. The service was good and the food was okay. Not that crowded on a sunny summer Sunday. Great view of the bay. I would go back for happy hour specials.

Yelp
Celebrated a bday party for our young niece. The service is great and attentive including the awesome staff taking family pics. Wish we could have sat outside but it was raining and slightly cold. The ambiance and set up of the restaurant is superb. Everyone loved their food and they do have a kids menu. The burger had bacon jam and it was so juicy and delicious. We shared the burger and the Benedict. The birria was decent but the eggs were cooked flawlessly and poached so well. The spicy sauce and spicy potatoes were great. Overall would love to come back.

Yelp
Overall: 4/5 Food: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Price: 3.5/5 The food was great and the service was great! We sat next to the fireplace on the patio, with a view of the water, and all of the marathon walkers. The waffle was really good. Light, but still dense, not too heavy. It had a nice crisp on the outside edges, which I really appreciated. The strawberry compote was normal. I prefer maple syrup with mine. I would definitely recommend the waffle if you are looking for something sweet to go with your coffee but not too heavy. Would've ordered the French toast, it just looked heavier. Price wise, it's about $20 a plate for brunch, not too bad. You're also paying for the ambiance. Would I double back? Yessssirski! S/O to my waiter Juan! Very friendly and attentive. Appreciate you my guy.

Yelp
Finished playing pickle ball and a few of us decided to have a cocktail. We had to check-in with the hostess and be seated but never had service. We were left with a menu. One of us went to the bar to order our drinks and then delivered our drinks to us. I ordered the Peach Elderberry Spritz which was made well The setting was pretty with a nice fire pit blazing, Just didn't know why we didn't have table service yet had to be seated by the hostess and given a menu.

Yelp
I have a preference for restaurants by any body of water. Covewood Restaurant is one of them. It's located at San Diego Mission Bay Resort offering upscale coastal dishes. I'm always sold on an intimate indoor/outdoor atmosphere. Dining here was very positive. Barrett, the Manager, was a gem. He was very knowledgeable and super friendly. The rest of the staff who came to my table were really attentive. I appreciated them checking on me. Thank you all for the stellar customer service!! I enjoyed each dish. The food was absolutely delicious. When it came down to the dessert, I couldn't finish the apple crisp (Lol). The topping was a little different to what I'm used to. In my opinion, it was more of an apple crumble than an apple crisp. All in all, très chic très bon!!! So good...got me speaking French ;-)

Yelp
Roy was our server both for breakfast and dinner during our anniversary staycation. He was attentive and friendly, offering menu suggestions. All dishes were on point, avocado toast, veggie omelette, oven baked potatoes, hot and delicious! Dinner selections were wonderful as well. The standout was the miso halibut, amazingly delicious, texture was perfect, moist and tender, highly recommend! Baby bok choy was crisp and charred, tender and flavorful. Hubs had the ribeye with mushrooms and broccolini and thoroughly enjoyed it all. The restaurant itself has a nice open air feeling to it whether you're inside or outdoors on the patio. A very fresh upscale vibe, for sure! We enjoyed our stay and kudos to Roy and his helper,Julian, for their excellent hospitality.

Yelp
Lovely ambiance, but a bit pricy. Fairly quiet when we went (it's winter and it's a beachside resort), but very lovely location. Wish they had some sort of happy hour, as grabbing a couple of bevvys with your friends is not as enticing when each cocktail is ~20 bucks. The calamari was really good!

Yelp
My coworkers and I had an activity in the area but wanted to get some food before. In addition, we wanted a place that was quiet enough to review some work presentations and had WiFi for us to use our laptops. Covewood delivered on all of that including providing us with a wonderful view of Mission bay. It is technically a restaurant that is part of the hotel but is open to the public. Since it is a little bit secluded there was plenty of seating. The menu is small yet all the food we got was delicious. Portions were quite large as well. The service was amazing. Our server checked up on us constantly and was so friendly.

Yelp
It was a quick staycation for my wife and I and we decided to try the restaurant at the resort we stayed at and loved it. We sat outside at sunset and since they had heaters it wasn't cold at all. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable of his menu. From our food (see pix) to the customer service, we enjoyed our time at Covewood. They had outdoor fireplaces and live music as well which made for a great ambience. Crazy story but a little girl began choking on her food and waiter from the restaurant was there immediately and once the girl was okay, he very intentionally began comforting her with talk about Disneyland, princesses, etc. I thought it was very sweet of him.

Yelp
The ambiance was nice but the chairs are too low and tables were in an awkward place making the nerves pinch in my leg so bad I had to leave. My mom got our food to go thankfully. The steak was really good but my vegetables were bitter. My mom thought the chicken was dry. I'd say it's way overpriced so I'd feel a lot better if the prices were a bit lower to be comparable to the quality.

Yelp
Pleased to find that the Covewood was a an impressive update over the Aqua (last time we were here). We were there in late afternoon for a burger and a drink. The drinks were very good and the burger was excellent cooked perfectly. Also, the service was on point. I wish I remember the server's name, but he was very friendly and accommodating ( long curly black hair back in a ponytail). I really enjoyed the ambience, the sunset and the experience. We will be back!

Yelp
Service was okay, we were there for a Sunday late morning and they had an amazing live singer on the patio, Kinnie Dye! I recommend going when you see her playing, gorgeous voice, perfect for Sunday brunch. Avocado toast and Bloody Mary were exceptional. Toast was fresh and filling.

Yelp
We stayed at Mission Bay Resort during the week of July 4th and had the chance to try Covewood multiple times. I really wanted to give them four stars, but the food was subpar at best. Let's start with the good parts. The ambiance was great, with an ocean view next to the beach. They have a fireplace, which we used one day because it was a bit cold outside, and we had to stay outside due to our dogs. The service tended to be slow at times but always with a smile, very friendly and accommodating. They have a special dog menu for our furry family, which is fantastic. Our dogs tried the chicken dish with farro and carrots. They devoured the chicken and munched on the other items a bit. It came pretty hot with a warning from the waitress. We stirred it a bit and let it cool before giving it to the dogs, and they were just fine. They even had a dessert option with oat milk ice cream and a cookie. Our dogs did not love that one, but they aren't really into cookies, so I wasn't surprised. Our first experience was with dinner. We started with oysters. My son wanted to have 12 of them. After reading the reviews, I was hesitant to order seafood, so we started with six, and we were all glad we only ordered six. We all struggled to finish those. They were not good. We ordered a few more dishes to share. The Noble Garden Salad was the best of all, fresh and tasty. I also enjoyed the scallops. We had side mushrooms which included a few different types of mushrooms. We all love mushrooms, and they usually do not need much sauce. The sauce overpowered the mushroom taste and made the whole dish bland. My son wanted to have pasta and ordered Wild Shrimp Cavatelli, which was the worst I've ever tried with not much taste. We finished with a Vegan Sundae, and while I was happy to see a vegan option, the brownie was cold and dry. Overall, not impressive. For lunch, we tried the mango and jicama salad and wood-roasted cauliflower and portobello. Neither of them was impressive. The taste was pretty average. I'm glad the cauliflower was not greasy, but the taste was average, the same with the salad. The Noble Garden was definitely better. We also tried different breakfast options during the week--pancakes, waffles, French toast--none of them were very good. They weren't bad or anything, but they definitely could have been a lot better. We probably would have dined there a few more times, which would have been really convenient.

Yelp
Covewood restaurant at Mission Bay resort has a great selection for breakfast. Omelette to Belgian waffles over the top dinning. The whole staff was elegant with Tony taking the lead. Seating was perfect and we had a 5 star experience. We recommend both morning and lunch dining here. We will review the other restaurants over the next few days.

Yelp
Really great service & food! Thanks Jorge for taking great care of us & helping me celebrate my birthday

Yelp
I would have given this place 4 stars but the confusing and frustrating start to our morning dropped it down. I had made this breakfast reservation at Covewood because it was close to our whale watching experience. When we got there we were taken to a bench at an outdoor area that was more of a bar close to the pool with no view. When I questioned the server, I was told the restaurant had been bought out and our reservation had been moved to this small bar area. Our group was not happy with the table so we got moved to another table but it was still uncomfortable. We were finally moved to a lovely table near the harbor at the actual restaurant Covewood. The service after that was good and the food was good too. They comped our drinks for the inconvenience which included mimosas which was nice. Overall I still have them a good rating even though the start was so unpleasant.

Yelp
Had reservations after end of traveling day & we're seated promptly. We were the only ones present at the restaurant on a Wednesday night at 6pm (which can be concerning). Ordered drinks & lobster Mac and cheese appetizer. Service was on par no issues there. Lobster Mac and cheese felt like a velveeta cheese? And didn't have any breadcrumbs on top it felt very lackluster. Entrees came & were more impressive. My potato gnocchi was pretty good would've preferred it to have been warmer when it came out? Felt like maybe it sat for a while. Wedge was good as well as the half chicken & sea bass. Overall the problem was too expensive for what you get & the quality? I would understand maybe 120 or 140 but over 225$ for what I received did not make sense? I chalk it up to a nice place for drinks, apps & the view. If your a foodie pass on this one :)

Yelp
We live in San Diego and had our water turned off due to an error with construction on my bday. We were scrambling for a hotel with our twins. We found this quiet hotel with a great restaurant and great staff. My husband got the scallops with guanciale and I got the cedar planked salmon. We had two drinks that were awesome passion and smoke (passion fruit and mezcal) and the Sicilian Summer both were delicious! We really appreciate Barrett, Omar and Juan for a great dinner!

Macklyn F.

Yelp
Went with my wife for her birthday dinner and it was absolutely wonderful. The atmosphere, our servers Moses and Juan, the food: everything was perfect. Definitely one of our new favorites!

Yelp
The food and decor were definitely a 4, service was very slow (3 stars), despite the restaurant not being full. I had the deliciously prepared Miso Sea Bass with misoyaki, yuzu beurre blanc, wood-charred bok choy, gluten-free. It was moist and flavorful. My drink (it must have taken them at least 30 mins to make) was also very good. I ordered The Passion and Fruit, Del maguey mezcal, with passion fruit and lime.

Yelp
We dined outdoors last night and had great food and an exceptional waiter. As the evening progressed it was getting cooler and we had asked for an additional heater, there were four of us. We had just finished our meal and were looking at the dessert menu and deciding what we'd have for after drinks when a manager came over and took our heater..We told him we needed it but he took it.. so we left without dessert or after dinner drinks .. not very nice!

Yelp
Good food. Limited on selection. Great drinks. Clean and inviting. Staff is good, sometimes feel a bit ignored. Great view and fun atmosphere

Vishal R.

Yelp
Food was good, convenient, beautiful views. Happy Hour was nice suprise. Takeout or pickup 15% fee. Delivery 22% fee. Convenience Fee 5%. Service was nice, but short staffed every day of our extended stay..

Yelp
Great view! Service is SUPER slow...... slow... still waiting They are good at taking payment from you, but not good at making the drink!
google avatar

Yelp
Parking for easier access is at the side park. The. You walk up the walkway all the in the back. Once you arrive you are greeted by the most modern waterfront restaurant. George waiter was so inviting and filled with positive attitude it made our lunch even better. Drinks were amazing and lunch was perfect!

Yelp
Our experience at Covewood was good, would've been great if we had a different server. He was polite, but the manager and the gentlemen who I'm assuming was the busser checked on us more than our server did. I was not happy with the mojito I ordered, so I asked the "busser" if I could swap for a different drink. He said no problem, and our server brought out the replacement. There was no apology, no checking on what was wrong with it. When we left, the server pretty much just took our money and walked away. No "thank you for coming in" or "have a great night". Service from the manager and "busser" was fantastic, but service from our server (pretty sure his name was Stephen) was less than average. Tried several times to call and talk to a manager but every time it went to their answering machine. Food was fantastic though, we got the ribeye and potato gnocchi.

Yelp
I'm always on the prowl for new restaurants and I happened to stumble upon this based on a search for a place with a Christmas ambiance. The restaurant is tucked in the Mission Bay Resort and was not difficult to find. We were seated right away and presented with pretty menus encased in plexiglass. It did take awhile for our drink orders to be taken which carried on the rest of dinner. There was significant delays with our waiter coming to check on us and also with us receiving our drinks and food. We sat down at 715pm and received our food at 805pm :(. Granted, there were quite a few people there for a Tuesday, but at least give customers an update regarding the delay with service. The prices for entrees are pricey but it's a resort and I've spent the same amount in other places. Additionally, they were out of several main entrees. Cocktail: Prickly Paloma. This drink had enough liquor in it and it wasn't watered down, thankfully. I did like the tajin rim and it was tasty enough. Appetizer: Clam chowder. I liked this soup. Very hearty with a good amount of clams. I ate half of it and I was full!!! Main: Miso Halibut. I do not recommend this dish. The amount of mashed potatoes was alot in comparison to the halibut. The potato took up the majority of the plate and was topped with Thai Chili sauce and edamame beans. This combo didn't work at all. Im very open to Asian fusion but the mix of ingredients didn't excite my palate at all. Unfortunately, I ate about half the fish and a few bites of the potatoes. I didn't want to raise a concern since I was going to wait for another dish. I got to taste the Seafood Linguine. The positive for this dish is that it had alot of seafood. My kids loved it but I felt otherwise. Dessert: I ordered the pistachio ice cream which came with a cookie. I didn't get to taste the cookie but the gelato was good enough and you get a good portion size. Esthetically, this place is beautiful with a coastal California modern feel. I did like the roaring fireplace in another dining area and the live music on a Tuesday. Mixed emotions with this experience.

Yelp
We stayed at the resort and dined at Covewood. It wouldn't have been our first choice if we weren't on the property but it worked out really well for us. We came in on a Friday night and there was live music. My kiddo started dancing to the music and the musician played up to him, which made it super fun! It was dark and rainy out so we didn't get to enjoy the view, but the restaurant was spacious and had a nice ambiance. The service was decent and our food was good. We ordered the pork lollipops, a hearty salad, the hamburger and a kids mac and cheese dish. I had a yummy drink that I believe was the paloma. Our favorite part was the manager who checked in on us often and even sang the abc's with our kiddo. It was a great way to start our stay at the resort and I definitely recommend Covewood for resort guests, as well as anyone else looking for a delicious meal with a nice view.

Yelp
We stayed at the San Diego Mission Bay Resort. One evening we decided to have dessert at Covewood and well it was not great, I would describe it as mediocre at best. The brownie Sundays tasted as if they were from the day old bakery :( the apple crisp was "ok" the key lime pie was decent. The coffee was awful, like scraped off the bottom of a burnt coffee pot bad. I will say the fire pit and the view of the bay was nice, and the service was great. They were very polite and fast to bring the food and coffee. Would I recommend this restaurant, unfortunately not. It is extremely expensive for what you get. For what they charge they should be top tier. My personal opinion is to order from GrubHub have it delivered and sit on the beach and enjoy the same view and the same fire pit for 1/3 the cost.
google avatar

Eme E.

Yelp
In the beginning no host to be found at all waited for about 5 mins till someone finally came from the back. Although we wanted to sit by the fire pit right by the bar the host said no one will serve you it'll be self serve so order at the bar. Ok no problem, but wait where is my silverware? No one thought before or after we ordered or even when they brought the food out to give us any silverware. The bartender was very nice and gave us a couple tastings to see what wine we wanted. The shiraz was great! Unfortunately they messed my order up and I said short rib beef he misunderstood and two ppl kept bringing this pasta up to our table I said no we ordered short rib beef he said this is the short rib pasta which I never said pasta. Since my husband is like no problem will take it I said no we paid for the rib beef they simply reordered and I got my tender beef really good but didn't care too much for the greens. They didn't charge us thankfully for their mistake which was nice even though my husband said it was delicious. I personally loved the clam chowder with the toasted crisps bread I'd ask for more I should've just cancelled my beef order since they messed up anyways since I was really full off the clam chowder a must try. Thankfully they have fires pits and heaters to keep you warm when it's slightly windy! The place is beautifully inside try it if your staying at the mission beach resort! I would just suggest the staff to be more attentive to the customers and greet them as you see them.

Yelp
We went on a slow night and the service was good but the food was not great. I ordered three Caesar salads and two clam chowders and the Bill came out to $130. My wife said the salad tasted like it wasn't properly washed. I'll give a five star for the view. It did have a nice ambience and a great view of the bay.
google avatar

Cory A.

Yelp
Even though Covewood has a limited menu for dinner, they make up for it with the amazing water view, ambience and quality of their food items. I was slightly taken a back as I was seated at a couch but became me acustimed to it quickly. It felt like i was having a meal at a friends home than a restaraunt. The service was absolutely wonderful. We sat at the bar for drinks vefore getting dinner and the bartender ws wonderful! The day before we had the chips and guacamole, margaherita pizza and cheese fondue ( all amazing with great service). At tonights dinner had one of the best mussels I have tasted. With a slight taste of coconut that does not overwhelm the dish as a starter. I had it by myself but can be easily shared. My wife had the clam chowder and it had more clam than any soup she has ever had. A meaty clam chowder is something to die for. For another appetizer try the mushrooms as they were cooked and seasoned to perfection. The pork chop was absolutely astonishing! I was amazed by the glaze and crispness on the putside but juicy it was on the inside. It was made to perfection. Even if the sides to the dish didn't amaze me, the meat itself was perfect. The steelhead fish was delicately cooked and seas9ned so well, it was delicious. Tasted like a sweet salmon with all the trimmings. If you are staying at the resort, these dishes are qhat you get as room service so you can enjoy while spending a quiet evening in. However be sure to experience the atmosphere and service as well.
google avatar

Suraiya J.

Yelp
We had a pleasant welcome from the hostess with a saxo player to add a romatic ambiance, she seated us in a great location, on the patio facing the bay. We started with oysters, which came with vinegar, radish, and ketchup--these sides seemed a bit basic for such a place, oysters were delicious. However, the mussels in coconut milk with lemongrass and kaffir lime leaves were absolutely divine. And also were the salmon served with cream and asparagus was perfectly cooked and dressed in a perfect sauce. Overall, a delightful experience with some minor improvements needed.
google avatar

Tara M.

Yelp
Warning: they failed at the food allergy to dairy and put cheese on the burger and Parmesan on the fries. Would recommend people with food allergies to use extreme caution if you eat here. Also, the medium well burger has sections of rare/raw. But when pointed out, they did offer to correct it. We stayed at the Mission Bay Resort so we ate a breakfast, lunch and dinner here. Breakfast was a long wait and very busy. Kids loved the lox bagel & French toast. Waffle was nothing special. The salads were good and large portions. The dinner salad with spicy ranch was a really nice twist if you like blue cheese. Dinner was the best meal, everything prepared carefully and was delicious - coconut mussels, miso halibut, rib eye, short rib. Of the desserts, we liked the flourless chocolate cake and carrot cake the best.
google avatar

Kristie L.

Yelp
Note to self: normally enjoy the food here but today's salmon Caesar was over cooked and under seasoned. Maybe just order a sandwich and fries next time which is cheaper and has been consistently good.
google avatar

I.Jay B.

Yelp
We are staying at Mission Bay Resort and this is considered their high-end restaurant. We came for breakfast and it's pathetic! The service is basically non existent and our server, Roy, is such a smug and condescending person who took 15 minutes just to come to our table ONLY after I had to walk up to the front and ask "do we have a server for our table?" The food is equivalent to Denny's with typical overpriced resort prices. Bagged "skillet" potatoes, jimmy dean sausage and bacon and horrendous coffee. A kids meal and basic 2 egg breakfast is $50. Do NOT bother to eat here! You'll regret it!
google avatar

Nayyirah F.

Yelp
Was surprised for a date night here and was impressed. We sat outside initially and I think if they had lights to accentuate the beach it would've been beautiful. It shortly started sprinkling after we sat down and was a bit cold even with the heaters on so we moved inside. Our service was great even with switching tables. They had plenty of gluten free options which was great for me. I ordered the halibut and really enjoyed how crispy the outside was. Definitely would like to come during the day to enjoy the beach view.
google avatar

Tara S.

Yelp
Unfortunately we didn't know reservations were needed - even as a resort guest. The restaurant wasn't full however we still had to wait and couldn't get an outside table. The food was very good. Restaurant and restrooms very clean. My husband and daughter shared a pizza. I ordered the salmon. We all shared a wonderful dessert. We would probably visit again however we will make sure we have reservations to sit at a regular dining table. The table they placed us at inside was not meal friendly. Especially with children. Just a heads up and friendly tip for future visitors.

Yelp
Thrilled with the quality of food, nutritious options, view and service! Yasmin & Steve handled a very large to go birthday order for a few friends of mine that were relaxing by the bay. Walked in sandy and in my swimsuit and was greeted with smiles and incredible recommendations. - you could choose to get dressed up and enjoy a sweet date night or walk in with a swimsuit and grab a drink at the bar. As a local here I have to recommend!

Yelp
Covewood was the most expensive dinner we had on our trip. The kids cheeseburgers were not great, too chard, for my picky eater. The other food though, was AMAZING! We had the BLT Wedge, kids cheese pizza, and short rib bolognese. *chefs kiss* they were so good!! Cocktails were delicious as well!!! I'll be dreaming of the apple cinnamon concoction. We did not have a reservation (we are staying on the property) and just walked in. From the time we sat, to the time we ordered was around 30 minutes. We would have loved some sort of bread/chips and salsa/something to eat while we waited for the main dishes. The desserts are also non-traditional. So it threw me off when I ordered the carrot cake, definitely not a layered frosted cake like you'd typically think. I wish the heaters on the Patio were also turned up higher. They didn't know how to adjust them and offered to move us to another table, but we had already ordered and didn't want to confuse anyone.

Yelp
Cool restaurant situated within the Mission Bay Resort. The sunset was beautiful from the outdoor patio during dinner time. The restaurant will validate parking if you are not a hotel guest. I ordered the Cioppino - the seafood was fresh resting upon a warm tomato-wine based broth served with slices of grilled bread to complete this cozy, hearty stew. The employees worked efficiently as a team to ensure we were seated promptly (we had a resy), our drinks and food found their way to our table at measured intervals and that we were satisfied with our meals. I also appreciated the fact that we did not feel rushed to leave shortly after meal, but rather welcomed to stay and enjoy the sunset. The fireworks display from SeaWorld across the bay was an added bonus.

Yelp
Food was just okay since the eggs were super dry and the toast was burnt. Our server was missing in action for over 20+ mins and then when he came back, he took another order and left again, came back to grab a card reader and then called out to us to say "coming" all while walking away again... Obviously a disregard of our time and patronage so I won't be back

Yelp
We arrived at the resort and we were wandering, kind of lost- a gentleman named hunter found us looking lost and helped us out- he asked us what brought us here- our answer anniversary! To which he said come at dinner at covewood he is the sous chef! We happily agreed! Upon arrival the host helped us to our seats, great customer service and happy energy. We sat on the patio right next to the fire and waited for our server- Roy. ROY IS HANDS DOWN THE BEST SERVER/WAITER I've ever had. So nice, so accommodating, so friendly went above and beyond to ensure we had the best service. Hunter had told Roy to take care of us and gave us a complimentary appetizer and dessert and I was blown away. The food was nothing short of amazing- we had the ribeye with mashed potatoes and everything was 10/10! The calamari- the best I've had. If you are looking for great ambiance, service and food- I'd highly recommend covewood and their staff. Juan was Roy's assistant and ran our food and helped and he gave amazing service as well! All around the staff is superb!

Yelp
A fantastic breakfast! We split the burger and the short rib Benedict, both were amazing! The burger was so juicy and delicious. Will definitely get again! Service was okay, it was a Sunday morning but the restaurant wasn't too full. We had to ask for help a few times but the food and the view made up for the service. Nothing beats a great view and great food. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Incredible view! Wonderful attentive service, Jorge & Salvador took such good care of our party of 13! Yummy food and drink too! Thank you Covewood for making my son's graduation day from PLNU extra special!

Yelp
A beautiful restaurant and the food was good, although wasn't delivered hot off the stove. We had breakfast here and service was very slow, from when we arrived to having to ask for the bill and a box for leftovers, enemy though we were the inly customers. I'd eat here again, but only if I have plenty of time.

Yelp
Ambiance - as soon as I walked in I could feel we were in for a treat. It's a restaurant with light colors that is already very spacious which makes it less noisy and more intimate. Service - friendly and professional with just the right amount of effort to make you feel like you were always thought about. Food - let's get down to it! We started with Kumomoto Oysters. Something they did differently is had shredded horseradish root which was delightful. I had the Cioppino which was delicious! Huge chunks of halibut with shrimp, clams, and mussels. The broth could've been tastier but the seafood was cooked to perfection. My SO got the roasted squash masala and it was great for a vegan dish and I'm not vegan. Definitely recommend Covewood.

Yelp
The views are so lovely and the restaurant is clean and the staff is nice. The food is not good and had to be sent back for not being warm enough. We then ordered banana pudding, waited 15 minutes to be told they didn't have it. Then, the apple crisp we ordered came out pretty quickly only to be cold as well. Also, the bathroom didn't have e any toilet paper. It was very unfortunate because we had really high expectations with the stunning views and well-kept environment.

Yelp
I recently visited Covewood and unfortunately, I found the food and service to be quite mediocre. While the atmosphere was pleasant and the view of the bay was lovely, the food left much to be desired. Their dishes lacked flavor, some were overcooked, and others were under-seasoned and lacked depth. The only items I would recommend from their menu is the Noble Salad, the Clam Chowder, the beet bruschetta and the fries. The service was also lacking, as our servers seemed disinterested and inattentive. One of the servers was super rude and got upset when one of the kids accidentally spilled their cup of water! Overall, it is overpriced with subpar food and lackluster service, but it is the only restaurant on the property so you'll probably end up dining here if you stay at the San Diego Mission Bay Resort. The reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because of the ambiance, the bay view, and the nice manager who tried to salvage the situation with the rude server.

Yelp
The breakfast was great! Julian was so helpful and gave great recommendations. Very tasty and a great view of the bay.
