Cow Chip Cookies Review - Pioneer Square - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Cow Chip Cookies are always on our list of things to eat at the Washington State Fair (preferably alongside giant strawberry-vanilla soft serve cones and Krusty Pups). Luckily, you can also get these legendary cookies at the brick and mortar location in Pioneer Square. If you like crunchy cookies, get out of here, because these are gooey, underbaked, and pretty much perfect. While our favorite is the classic chocolate chip, the almond-scented double chocolate is also a winner. If this place didn’t close at 6pm, we’d probably eat dinner here a couple times a month." - Aimee Rizzo

Google
..the Best Cookies ever!...the Cow Chip Cookies are always fresh, baked to perfection and delicious..I have been a patron for a long time often visiting the downtown Seattle location..if you are from Seattle or just visiting I highly recommend giving them a try...don't let the name fool ya! Lol...I recommend the Nutty Cow or Nutty Calf that comes topped with walnuts however they sell a variety of different flavors and sizes and they all taste great!..Enjoy 😋

Still waiting for them to refund me the $5.50 I spent on their hairy cookies. They asked me to call them back at a better time to discuss the matter - that was almost two weeks ago. SMH to think they wanted ME to call them back. The least they could do was refund me for this nauseating experience 🤢🤮.

Google
Cow Chip for the win! Wow, these cookies are so good. We came here with friends, and I am so glad we did! The service was good. There was only one person working behind the counter, so it was kind of slow moving. The cookies were so great. We bought so many cookies to take home with us since we live in Seattle and this location is in Kent. We bought the chocolate chip, chocolate chip with walnuts, m&m cookies, and lemon cookies, and the half and half with sprinkles and m&ms. They were all so good and so delicious. They do offer shipping options or ordering ahead online if you live out of town. I definitely recommend Cow Chip and we will be back for sure!

Google
Wow!! I'm not big on chocolate chip cookies but this place is a must try. Our friends recommended this place when they learned we'll be visiting Seattle and boy were they right... I had the nutty calf and wish I had gone with the nutty cow. The cookies are so yummy and fresh, my husband finished a whole bull chip cookie all by himself, that's how good these cookies are. I'm so sad we don't have them where we live.

Google
MY FAVORITE COOKIES EVER! i've loved cow chips since I was a little girl and will support the business and the people running it as long as I can. Warm, gooey and baked with love - just like your mama made them.

Google
If you have a NUT ALLERGY please be very careful. The lady gave us a cow chip cookie and it was touching the cookie with nuts on it and when I asked her if she had another that wasn’t touching the nut cookie she said no and that she cooks all the cookies on the same pan and uses the same spatula. This is very unsafe if you have a nut allergy so I just want to pass this along. You would think this place would separate the nuts from the others considering how many people in this world have nut allergies but I guess not. I’m glad I noticed.

Google
Delicious! Lemon Sugar Cookie was fresh and sweet, Cow Chip chocolate chip cookie was fresh out of the oven and so good! Best cookies I've ever had. 5 year old loved the half & half which is half sprinkles and half m&m's.

Google
Cookies were decent but staff wasn’t very welcoming. Definitely a “what do you want?” “Your total is..” and leave kind of place. No friendliness what so ever.

Yelp
I miss pre-COVID where I could walk down to Cow Chip off of 1st to grab a bag of chiplettes. Been craving those little bits of yumminess. Found out Kent has the closest store to me and made a special trip to satisfy my craving. Cow Chip is rich in brown sugar & butter creating a crispy base. Paired with a smooth chocolate that melts into the cookie and creates a gooey center. Crispy and gooey! YES PLEASE! PS Grab a bag to walk back to the car, a bag to drive back home and a bag to have later

Yelp
Eh, the cookies are okay. We stopped by on a Saturday around 5:30pm and there weren't many cookies left. We decided on the chocolate chip--two cookies for $5.00. The cookies were far too sweet, and the chocolate chips were run of the mill milk chocolate. I make better cookies at home. The shop is located in the Kent Station town center, which means finding sitting near the shop can be a challenge. We dint mind walking, so it was inconsequential to us. The woman who served us was friendly and efficient.

Yelp
I don't understand why the reviews for this place are so low because these are easily the best cookies I've ever had. I'm so disappointed they closed the location in Redmond because I live right nearby and used to go weekly. So when we were passing by the Kent area I HAD to stop. This had been my first time getting Cow Chip in over a year and I was stoked. We came at around 4 and they had a decent amount left, but a little short. I felt pretty bad because I spent over $50 on cookies and bought out most of their stock. The lady seemed a little frustrated which I can understand, and informed us to preorder, or to order online. Though after we tipped her 10$ she seemed like her frustration disappeared. :) Every single cookie I've had here is exceptional and I'm not lying with you I ate 5 COOKIES in one sitting. I was so mad I ate them all, I went back and bought even more. You can't go wrong with any flavor, but the best being the classic chocolate, the mini chocolate, the sprinkle, and snickerdoodle. Also their day old cookies are absolutely a steal. Overall you NEED to come to Cow Chip and it needs to be heard how amazing they are!!!!!

Yelp
Taking one star from their review due to their limited hours. I'm obsessed with these cookies but they close too early (6pm during the week).
google avatar

Yelp
My daughter and I stopped by as we were walking around Kent station. Saw they had 6 mini cookies for $2.50 which is a perfect portion for both of us. They had it ready to go in a bag which I liked. The cookies were moist and chewy. Nothing out of this world and I wouldn't come out of my way. However if you're walking around wouldn't hurt to try it! Service was friendly and warm.

Yelp
Stopped here for something sweet while we were visiting Kent Station. Saw some mixed reviews, but figured we would give it a try. Came here around 5 PM and closing time was 6 PM. There were only a handful of cookies left in the display case. I asked the lady who is working, "what are your best sellers or what is most popular here?" She replied with a short & curt "everything is good here." Okay, fine so I browsed a little and let my friends go in front of me before making my decision. My friends asked her a question about the difference between a "calf chip" and a "cow chip," the lady explained there was a difference in ounces. Didn't seem she wanted to converse much so they put their order in and then it was my turn. I asked for a lemon sugar and she advised all they had left was the cookie in the display case. I guess normally If it wasn't during Covid time I would be OK with it... but I decided, maybe not this time and proceeded to get chipletts instead. Small pack of 6 cookies for $2. They were decent, but I didn't think it was anything super special plus with the lack of customer service, I don't think this place deserves 4 stars. Maybe I'll try coming here again earlier in the day and see if I get a different experience, but for now, Cow Chips in Kent station gets a solid 3 stars.

Yelp
These are great cookies for straightforward chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin and/or peanut butter, nothing too extravagant. They have others to choose from like M&M or sprinkles, and I like them all. I like them because they are not underdone! I really like the six pack of chiplets. A perfect bite. You can demolish all six or ration them. A little pricey, but if you are fortunate enough to come upon the day olds, you can get a bargain! Our staffer was friendly and patient with me while I decided. They have some humorous stickers.
google avatar

Yelp
Finally tried Cow chips cookies after passing it for years. The cookie is good. It's soft in the middle. The outside is crispy. Definitely not with the price. The cookies are definitely pricey. Staff was very friendly. She had a mask on during Covid. They also practice social distancing. Only giving it a 3 because the selection was not as expected and the prices are high.
google avatar

Wennie H.

Yelp
Service was friendly and cookies were good. Honestly, not much else to say....prices can't be best, $5 got me a pack of 6 chiplets and a sprinkle cookie. No frills, just solid cookies I love cookies and I have definitely spent an exorbitant amount of money on them but sometimes those pricey ones don't hold a candle to the simple ones. Cow Chip is definitely better than crumbl too.
google avatar

Brooke B.

Yelp
I agree, that the place could use some good customer service, but I do like the chocolate chip cookies. Haven't tried any other kinds, cause I like the chocolate chip so much. I stopped by when they were minutes from closing, and there was a smile pile of bundled cookies on the counter to choose from. That was a bummer.
google avatar

Vladi Z.

Yelp
Came in and got the chipletts- it's been years since we've been here. Cookies were great and reasonably priced, only thing they could work on here in the service. Not that the staff was rude, but they were very short with us. We'll still come back and pay another visit though

Yelp
for all the people complaining, you're absolutely crazy!!! These cookies are soo good. I went today about 39 minutes ago. (1:30pm) and I met a blonde lady at the front counter. She was absolutely the SWEETEST. I ordered the calf chips in chocolate chip, white macadamia and sprinkles. They were soooo good. Super soft and the chocolate chip was LOADED. I absolutely love this place. I definitely recommend and will be back!
google avatar

Katherine S.

Yelp
Bad customer service in both Seattle and Kent locations. Shame on them. I prefer Mrs. Fields cookies! 100 times better! Smile and talk to your customers once in awhile.
google avatar

Seaver H.

Yelp
Highly addictive! My favorites are the gluten-free "stray-chip" and the m&m. My husband always grabs a few packs of the little chippers. While they are bigger cookies I wouldn't recommend sharing They tend to sell out by the end of the day, so try to get in earlier if you can
google avatar

Jay J.

Yelp
Their cookies are THE BEST! Prices are a bit high but the product is top quality. We've stopped here a number of times and the service tends to be hit or miss. Some visits are great, other times not so much. My personal favorite is the cow chip (traditional chocolate chip). They offer them in a few different sizes but the basic cow chip (abt 4" diam) is perfect for me. They have a variety of other flavors as well including oatmeal, nuts, candies, peanut butter, etc. I believe they offer gluten free options as well. Every flavor we have ever tried has been top-notch. We make it a point to stop in any time we're nearby. A great treat!
google avatar

Anthony N.

Yelp
Very soft and delicious cookies. I been trying to find white macadamia nut cookies and they had them. They were one of the best I've ever had. It taste way better than Ms. Fields cookies. Highly recommended.

P V.

Yelp
Great homemade cookies! Stopped by after lunch across the street and it hit the sweet cravings spot. We got a mixture of flavors and so far, so good!
google avatar

Paul R.

Yelp
I have never had cookies this damn good. If you're ever passing by, like cookies, have a sweet tooth that needs to be fulfilled. Go here, this is the highest tier of cookie. Soft, not too sweet, and will stop by just in passing any chance I get. Workers were all wearing mask, and very nice to me, and my children as we purchased a lot of cookies.
google avatar

Jackie G.

Yelp
Delicious cookies, great service, and a really sweet lady behind the corner! This is the place to go to fulfill your sweet tooth
google avatar

Joshua N.

Yelp
great cookies. i ordered some for my birthday they were great . the employees are also very nice.
google avatar

Yvette K.

Yelp
Love this place! My sister insists on visiting here when she comes from San Diego. Some places make their cookies so sweet all you can taste is the sugar. The m&m cookie is by far my favorite. Other favorites of the family include, chocolate chip and oatmeal. Sounds boring, but they taste AMAZING!
google avatar

Craig O.

Yelp
This is more like three and a half but there's no setting for three and a half so anyway the cookies were good I thought they were we've been expensive but the only thing wrong with them was that they don't have milk chocolate chips which I think is a crime you know fortunately for them I only took want to have stars away unfortunately I can't do this three and a half but anyway it's it was it was a good cookie they did have a deal on three of them for $5 day old ones and they weren't half bad so and the location is second to none I mean I can walk from the center right by the the the bus stop the bus station which is I don't know who thought of that one that was really smart on their part okay happy summer. The only problem is I spend money like a drunken sailor but I was able to donate blood to which I probably should I'll change this to five stars cuz you know that's that's something that you know should be included in this you know escapade.
google avatar

Yelp
Every once in a while we make a stop by cow chip if we are in the Kent area. This happened to be one of those days. There were a lot of cookie options and decided on grabbing a couple of the day old packs at 3.5/pack of 3 cookies. Definitely a great deal. The cookies are all really good. The price is right on a pack of cookies and I am glad we made the trip. In the past I have grabbed the mini cookies and regularly priced cookies and they never disappoint.

Yelp
Since I inadvertently checked into Cow Chip Cookies on the Yelp App, I might as well write the review. I was down in Kent from Seattle yesterday because I hankered my favorite breakfast. Read that as Hawaiian fare Saimin Says. Afterwards I wanted something a little bit sweet so I searched on Yelp for a nearby bakery. As it turns out, Cow Chip is in Kent Station, a Bridgeport Village clone. I actually smelled the cookies baking before I turned the corner and espied Cow Chip's store front. I managed to find a parking space despite the fact some graduation exercises were about to commence at nearby ShoWare Center. Cow Chip, what a whimsical name for a cookie. But anyway, once inside the store, I discovered the "Nutty Cow" ($3) cookie. It was, of course, a chocolate chip cookie, but better yet, slathered in walnuts. I had to have one of these babies! And you know what, Cow Chip has milk too. Good deal! I took my cookie and sat outside at their only outdoor table to enjoy the warm sunny day (which is totally atypical for June in these parts). This chocolate chip cookie was flawless, absolutely flawless. Loaded with soft semi-melted dark chocolate bits, the cookie was soft, but not gummy. And all those walnuts! Yum, yum, yum. Yes, I'm going to say it, this was the best chocolate chip cookie I've ever dunked in milk!
google avatar

Alden C.

Yelp
Mmmmm! Yummy fresh baked cookies! Cow Chip Cookies is situated in a small strip mall area in Kent. It is mixed in with corporate chain shops as well as a few independent ones. I got a chocolate and nut cookie and a lemon one. Both were delicious! I have a natural weakness from back in my childhood eating my grandmother's chocolate and walnut cookies so naturally that one won over for me the most. The lady that was working here was very sweet and friendly. I will make a point to come here for a cookie fix whenever I am back in Kent!
google avatar

Jennifer B.

Yelp
One of best cookie places here. I always get the biggest cow chip $8. Even after a few hours of sitting out the cookie isn't completely hard. Still chewy. Ugh. Just writing about it makes me want to go back
google avatar

Yen E.

Yelp
Cookie shops get lost in the midst of all the cupcakes, french macarons and froyo shops and while in Kent in the other day, I spotted Cow Chip Cookies. How can I not pass that up? When I first entered, I didn't get that "ooooh it smells like delicious cookies" vibe and then I noticed the small selection of cookies, which was very disappointing. Chocolate Chip with Walnuts- I'm not even a fan of walnuts, but it was one of the two only cookies that was different. Cookie itself soft and chewy, but nothing exciting. Day Old Cookies (2 oatmeal raisin & 1 White Chocolate Macadamia)- For day old cookies, they were still soft, chewy and delicious. The Oatmeal raisins were really good, but felt like it was missing something to make it even better. White chocolate macadamia was delicious. Mock Baby Ruth- DELICIOUS! Probably the only cookie I liked best out of all of them. This one is a must try unless you're allergic to peanut butter of course. I don't think I will be returning. The cookies itself are good, but not great and honestly, I think my homemade cookies tastes better. Sorry.
google avatar

Tristan S.

Yelp
Cookies were good, but I wish they had a bigger assortment. Maybe they just needed to get a couple more batches going. I would return, but I would call ahead to see what they have available that day.
google avatar

Arie L.

Yelp
...people it's chocolate chip cookies. And darn good ones too! 5 stars regardless of service or not being able to use the bathroom, I don't care. Their cookies are delightful. Take a chill pill. Save half the costs from buying from their day old batch. Lots of varieties. My favorite is still choc and walnut. How is it that every bite has a lovely melted choc chip for each morsel? Bizarre and heavenly! This saves me from angst and wait for the yearly fair, and I was so happy to see this in Kent. The service here actually was nice and pleasant. And she went out of her way to get me the chocolate chip and walnut batch. Thanks! Will be here more often now that it's a closer location!
google avatar

Sara T.

Yelp
How we've been to Kent AMC so many times and NOT seen this place is beyond me! We stopped by on Christmas Eve before we went to see a movie and their cookies are AMAZING. I would drive there just for their Snickerdoodle Cookie. It was a perfect taste and perfect texture - Soft and gooey. We'll definitely be stopping by the next time we go see a movie! :)
google avatar

Keenen M.

Yelp
The best cookies I've ever tasted are my girlfriends homemade, soft, delectable, chocolate chip cookies. With that being said, I LOVED cow chip cookies. They were soft, and the chocolate chips were of abundance. The service at the front count was quick and knowledgeable of what she had to offer that day. The prices are to be expected, and you can pick the sizes you want along with flavor. You can also purchase bundled cookies that aren't so fresh at a discounted price. I really enjoyed cow chip cookies and will be back.
google avatar

Alexis C.

Yelp
Literally best place ever to buy cookies. Hands down. I also agree that coming an hour before close means you get the cookies that are now $3, which is a great deal. For everyone complaining, no they are not going to bake new, fresh cookies for you an hour before close. It doesn't matter which day it is. It not only doesn't make sense (you're potentially wasting so many cookies! Sometimes even the $3 deals don't sell out), but they would probably get rid of the $3 leftover deal and bake fresh cookies instead, which sounds great in theory until you want that Bull Chip at 8:30 for $3 instead. Also, I've always had awesome customer experience with the ladies that work there. Don't change a thing!
google avatar

Emily W.

Yelp
They won't give a paying customer tap water to drink with their cookies. They said I could buy a bottle of water or go next door and ask for free water from a different restaurant. That's a little ridiculous.
google avatar

Riley A.

Yelp
VERY glad I convinced my parents to stop in. Rave reviews and I just wanted to be a little hipster and stop in a cookie shop(didnt even know they existed!) and the oppurtunity presented itself. BA BLAM I liked the sound of the Nutty Cow and it was dreamy and delicious. Very good balance of gooeyness and firm cookiness. At first there was too many walnuts but once I dug in it was just the right amount of balance. I would go for a Nutty Calf next time, that was the medium size and it was a lot of cookie! My mom got the lemon sugar cookie and she loved it, which is uncharacteristic of her, she hates any sweets slightly less than perfection. Dad got the horse cookie, thought it was okay, that my mom has made better ones but to be honest he could have been saying that to get on her good side. the parents are rather on edge lately. also the cow chip is the actually specialty. So ya None the less, good cookies. Everyone should give it a whirl at least once
google avatar

Demitri R.

Yelp
All I seen was cookies. It was By Two Get one Free day. Or maybe It was Buy Three Get one Free. Either way I ordered Chocolate Chip for me, and one with Nuts for my friend. The lady behind the counter was more than patient and friendly. They even have TO GO boxes that they ship if you so desire to send them to friends and family. The cookies are so fresh even on Day Two they are still as soft and fresh as day one. Way better cookies than you find at the grocery store. And the prices are reasonable as well.
google avatar

N S.

Yelp
I came to check this place out after passing it on my way to Trapper Sushi. My guess was that they were starting to close because the person at the counter was arranging the remaining cookies for only $3. First off, when we walked in we were not greeted. She just looked at us and then stopped putting the cookies out for $3. I grabbed 2 stacks and she said $6. I gave her the money and she gave me my change back. That was it. NOTHING ELSE. The cookies were mediocre like what Amy D. stated. And the customer service was just as bad. I will not be back.

Donna M.

Yelp
This place is so great! The worker could not have been nicer! She gave us stickers and free cookies and was such a nice person!
google avatar

Tara T.

Yelp
I went here for an office potluck, they have gluten-free cookies. This was a hit at the office potluck. I bought several dz mine cookies and dz gluten-free cookies and everyone loved it. Will definitely go back for the next office potluck.
google avatar

Sharon L.

Yelp
I was pleasantly shocked to see this place. I thought it was a fair staple only. We were up there looking for something and ran into them. Went in asap.omg. enjoyed the cookies so much. I will be back. Cookies were good and tasty.
google avatar

Stuart J.

Yelp
The chocolate amaretto cookies are by far the best they have going for them. The rest of the cookies were just ok. Nothing great to really make us saw wow. A little pricey we thought too.
google avatar

Katie S.

Yelp
Pretty tasty fresh cookies to order. They're fast in bsgging them up but still manage a nice and friendly atmospher for the shop

Jr T.

Yelp
These guys have the best chocolate chip cookies around! This is my go-to spot for cookies from now on.
google avatar

Clayton J.

Yelp
Who doesn't like a chocolate chip cookie? I got hip to these guys a decade ago when I worked in Pioneer Square. I used to tip toe in every day for a Nutty Calf. That is a chocolate ship cookie with a healthy portion of walnuts. I guess there story starts at The Puyallup Fair and my guess is in the midst of all the fair has to offer with scones, sno cones and Krusty Pups, getting a Cow Pie fresh out the oven is something that dreams are made of. I'll be honest, they don't taste as good as they did a decade ago, maybe I'm used to getting them warm and now they taste day old. Prices have also gone up. I buy them when they have a groupon or promotion. I take the cookie home and bake them for about 90 seconds to recreate that fresh out the oven experience. Great cookie, but not really work the high price that comes with it these days. Might be worth $3 at the fair, in downtown Kent these joints should be a buck.
google avatar

Rebecca W.

Yelp
Not sure if I went on an off day but the cookies were ok but i've defintely had better cookies, at least something more fresh. I read the reviews before mine and they all seem to give really positive reviews about the cookies. I've had better but it wasn't terrible. The service was great. The lady was super nice. This review is probably a bit bias because I like my cookies freshly baked and hot. So again I probably went on an off day/time.
google avatar

Shane Y.

Yelp
I come to Cow Chip's every time I'm in Kent Station. I don't bake or buy cookies often so I don't mind paying the high prices. $1.50 for a cookie seems steep but they are baked fresh so you really can't complain. Of the 3 or 4 times I've been here I've never had bad service. It usually a younger girl working the front counter and she is always busy baking cookies when you walk in. She always grabs the freshest cookies available from the trays in the back. Overall great service. Honestly the cookies themselves aren't much to write home about. My favorite cookies are peanut butter and the PB cookies here aren't worth buying. Over 3 stars. Its a good idea that is pretty poorly executed. They should be going all out and coming up with some crazy cookie creations for the prices they are charging. If you are at Kent Station give them a try but I wouldn't make a special trip.

Amy H.

Yelp
Very good cookie. We got there shortly before close and we're able to get two of the regular cookies as "day-olds" for $4. Excellent cookies, decent service. It's definitely a grab-and-go kind of place- very small inside. I probably wouldn't make a special trip, but if you're already in the shopping center, worth stopping by.

Nicholas B.

Yelp
Great customer service great cookies has gluten free cookies for those people that are gluten free

Henna J.

Yelp
Delicious cookies, friendly service, great prices. Wish they were warm though! CC should get a microwave to heat up cookies.
