"Cowboy Cafe has been kicking around Arlington since 1990, and counts chili among its signature dishes. It comes topped with shredded cheese and chopped onions, and diners can request it with or without beans. Chili nachos, chili mac, chili-cheese half-smokes, and chili burgers are additional menu staples." - Missy Frederick

"Cowboy Cafe is one of Arlington’s most beloved dive bars. The former biker bar, which first opened in 1990, now draws in brunch crowds and regulars. Offerings range from beefy burgers and spicy chili to brisket tacos and barbecue spareribs." - Missy Frederick

This is a local dive bar type establishment with great food and good drink. Have been to Cowboy Cafe multiple times in the past 2 months and have yet to have a bad meal. My favorite is the mixed fajitas. The serving is enough for two, but you will need to order more tortillas. You get 3 meats (a lot of steak, and chicken plus 6 shrimp). The vegetables are well seasoned and tasty. I like jalapenos so I always ask for them to Sautee (add) some to my order. The staff personalities are all over the place, but they make it work. Service is hit or miss if you sit at a table, but always consistent sitting at the bar. Can't remember what day they offer half price tacos, but well worth ordering.

Always enjoy lunch at the Cowboy Cafe. The beer options are good, but they also make a good martini. I love the burgers. The Country Club, Reuben, and the Cubano are all excellent.

A little different! The food and service is outstanding, though it’s a little different. We all got coffee, but when you ask for a refill they either bring you a new cup or have to take yours to refill. The Irish coffee is a mix your own concoction with lots of alcohol. I had the Cowboy hash and it was outstanding. I also tasted the French toast. It was also outstanding! We drank all their coffee, and ended up waiting for them to brew another pot. We ate outside (COVID avoidance). Lots of color and the seating was comfortable. Parking is easy, though one of the lots is across the street and could pose a bit of a problem if a patron drank more than they should. Parking is plentiful. Definitely worth the stop. A little quirky. I really want to come back to sample the menu for lunch or dinner and enjoy an adult beverage or two.

Great bar off the beaten path in Arlington. Best fried pickles I've ever had, hands down. Good prices and portions too. The bartenders were on top of things and were quick to get our orders and drinks. An excellent place to have a few beers and a burger, will come back again.

This was a great restaurant we stumbled upon on a random trip to Arlington. The burgers were great, the drinks tasty and the service was top notch. They not only have a kids menu but also had coloring books and crayons for the kids as well. Love the vibe here too. Definitely going to add this to our favorites in Arlington.

A bit of Texas honkytonk in North Arlington offers the best array of burgers in the DMV. If you order medium rare that’s exactly what you get. Have them with real onion rings; not crap from a frozen bag. Don’t overlook the rest of the eclectic menu and bevy of hearty brews. The soundtrack is classic rock befitting of the classic dive bar decor. Parking is tight so jump on the first nearby space you find.

Great burger! I had the Mushroom burger. It was really good, a 8 out of 10! And a 10 considering any local burgers.

It’s the only bar in Arlington that’s not an Arlington bar, if that makes sense. None of the pretentious bullshit you get in Clarendon, just good beer, good atmosphere, and better food than you’d expect.
