I drove 2.5 hours to try this place based on strong recommendations and high expectations. While I have no issue paying for quality food and service, I was ultimately disappointed. Coming from a large city in California where there is no shortage of exceptional dining options, I found the food here to be underwhelming in comparison. That said, the service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and professional. Unfortunately, that was the only standout aspect of the experience. The atmosphere lacked energy and felt flat, which added to the overall letdown. While I truly appreciate great service, I personally would not recommend this restaurant, nor do I plan to return. If you’re looking for a more satisfying experience, a traditional steakhouse might be a better choice. $300 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽 They asked if we were celebrating anything, and I mentioned that we’re celebrating a birthday. I figured a simple “Happy Birthday” or maybe even a small gesture like a cupcake would follow. It just felt a bit odd to ask and then not acknowledge it in any meaningful way.

Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the food. The highly recommended dish lacked flavor and tasted like it may have come from frozen ingredients. The beet salad was the highlight of the meal and the only dish I truly enjoyed. On a positive note, the service was excellent—our server was attentive, professional, and courteous.

10 of out 10, would recommend. The first thing we noted was every staff member we walked by greeted us. This plus the really nice atmosphere and decor were a great way to start the experience. We were celebrating our anniversary and they even left a nice note on our table (picture). They also accommodated our stroller for our baby. I don’t remember our server’s name, but she was super pleasant and checked on us multiple times. The cool thing about this restaurant is the menu offers super fancy (expensive) items, but also has regular (affordable) items as well. I forgot to take a picture before we ate, but my wife had the Steak Frites and I had the Dry-Aged Prime Burger. Both were extremely good and very filling as you can see from the plates. The fries are good too, but a little heavy on the Parmesan. Funny sidenote, I know I’m not a fancy guy at all, but in the bathroom, they didn’t have paper towels, but they had actual cloth towels. Multiple on a nice tray. I’ve never seen that before. Long story short, I air dried my hands. Using a towel in a public bathroom just seemed odd to me, but my wife said that’s what fancy restaurants do. Anyway, we plan to be back!

Everything is absolutely amazing, the service is excellent. The Food is phenomenal. We have been several times and have gotten many different dishes and all are outstanding.

I was a bit hesitant to give Cowboy Prime a try after reading some reviews, but I’m glad I did. You step into a warm and elegant ambiance. The attentive staff provided great recommendations. I enjoyed the spice dusted ribeye which was flavorful. The wine list pairs nicely with the menu. The butter graham cracker dessert was out of this world and a delightful finish to a delicious meal. Cowboy Prime exceeded expectations with excellent food and service. A must-visit!

Cannot say enough GREAT things about the staff!!! They went above and beyond to help make our daughter’s 16th birthday extra special. The host services are spectacular. If you want to create a special atmosphere, I highly recommend contacting them well ahead of time with your requests; they are extremely gracious and will work with you within the best of their abilities.

Wow! Food was amazing from the appetizers all the way to the dessert. I ordered the NY Strip and my wife ordered the filet they were cooked to perfection. As for the service our waiter Audie was very tentative to our dinning experience. He made great recommendations and ensured that we enjoyed the meal. We will definitely be returning soon. Thank you for a memorable night.

An Exceptional Dining Experience at Cowboy Prime Steakhouse! From the moment we walked in, Cowboy Prime Steakhouse exceeded all expectations. The ambiance was warm and inviting, perfect for both a casual night out or a special occasion. Our server was incredibly attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure everything was perfect throughout the evening. The food? Absolutely phenomenal. Every dish from the perfectly seared steaks to the flavorful sides was cooked to perfection. You can really taste the quality and care that goes into every bite. What really stood out, though, was the management. They were incredibly accommodating, checking in to make sure our experience was nothing short of excellent. It’s rare to see that level of genuine hospitality these days, and it truly made our night memorable. I highly recommend Cowboy Prime Steakhouse to anyone looking for top-tier service, outstanding food, and a welcoming atmosphere. Can’t wait to come back!

We went to celebrate a birthday. We were seated promptly at a nice table in the new section. It was a Friday night so things were a little loud, but not excessive. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. She kept us in drinks and served us promptly. Our appetizers were tasty. I had a special salmon sushi and my wife had a potato soup. I also tried a special lobster pasta for my entree, while my wife had a sliced dish. The only complaint was my wife's dessert, a molten lava cake that was tasty but didn't live up to the name. When cut, no lava. It's steep, but when we can we enjoy the experience.

I visited here one night since it was relatively close to my hotel. I didn't initially realize it was a restaurant owned by Graham Ellliot, who is coincidentally 1 day younger than me. The menu consists of raw plates, apps, salads, sandwiches, land and sea plates, and steaks. Half of the front of their menu is devoted to sushi rolls, containing elevated items like lobster and waygu steak. On the rear of the menu, their side dishes didn't really impress me as there are many starches and only 2 green veggies. This restaurant is still very classy in several ways, or at least they make a valiant attempt. One example, when ordering sushi rolls, they bring out a nice metal chopstick holder. However, the chopsticks themselves are just the cheap wooden ones in a paper packaging. I decided to sit at the bar since the dining area looked busy; however, the bar area was also just as busy. On the bar side of the restaurant, there are actually many more tables toward the back which were mostly vacant during the majority of my visit. I decided to order the steak frites which they say is a Denver cut. Denver steaks are from the well-used shoulder area and typically have great marbling and a deep beef flavor. The dish comes with their truffle fries and bearnaise sauce. It's a simple dish and not their priciest cut, but it's the most affordable way to get one of their steaks without being presented on a sandwich or priced in the 68-275 range as their other steaks. Steak frites - the steak was tender and very tasty. It actually was much better without the room temp bearnaise sauce. Not sure why they have that on the plate since it ruins a steak imo. The steak itself was also luke warm and not hot from the broiler. The fresh cut shoestring fries were warm but not quite as hot as I was expecting. Luckily, the garlic aioli helped. This restaurant is a great place for many occasions but can also be a good place for someone dining solo looking for upscale food.

For a place that touts being "premium", this is not... Took a group to dinner, not one time did a person get the correct entree or even salad placed in front of them. They unceremoniously bring the food out and basically auction it off. It's like they have no earthly idea who ordered what. God bless him. They're trying. But they are not accomplishing it. The service is nowhere near on par for the price point.

The food was delicious! The octopus was my favorite. Great parking, excellent service. Our waitress Caydence was very attentive and thoughtful, which added to a positive experience for us. The manager was also friendly. The place was clean and the bathrooms were impressive. I honestly considered taking a picture of the ladies room because it looked so nice, beautiful peacock wallpaper, but ended up not doing it. If ever in the area I would go again and I do recommend you try this place. They also have a good selection of menu items with different price points. I look forward to trying out the other restaurant establishments for this company in the DFW area. This particular restaurant was in Midland Texas.

We had an amazing time and the BEST server ever , ERIC! He was kind, professional, and definitely knew the menu. He represents cowboy prime and he is one of the many reasons why we love to go there!

The restaurant was really nice inside. The atmosphere was inviting and the server was pleasant. Food was delicious! The shrimp appetizer was sooo good! The sea bass with topped with lump crab meat was flavorful. The butter cake dessert was amazing. Really had a nice dinner here. Definitely planning to return.

Absolutely beautiful restaurant! One of the prettiest places I have ever seen!!! The steak I received was wonderful! The broccolini was hard but let's be honest, I didn't get the meal for that!

Had their wagyu filet and wife had new york strip. Amazing. Next time i'll call in a reservation as it was packed on a Friday night and we were lucky to find the only two empty seats at the bar.

The food is always good. The wait is longer than normal but worth the wait. Staff always friendly.

I'll start this review by saying that I ate Cowboy Prime while visiting Midland from out of state. The service at Cowboy Prime is incredible, every server consistently ensures that your water is filled and checks in regularly. The servers were knowledgeable and were more than happy to ask others with more insight if they didn't have the answer. The food was good, but in my opinion was overpriced. For example, the steak and frites warranted more of a $25-30 price tag as opposed to the nearly $40 price tag (although the price of the service does make up for it a bit!) The atmosphere is definitely unique compared to other places in midland. The music is a little loud and makes conversation challenging, but the nice counter to that is you don't hear anyone else's convo either!

Food was good, a salesguy took me there and I ate the golden tomahawk steak it is WAY overpriced, I've cooked many of tomahawk's myself from HEB that were huge and about $70, their "gold" one I'm wanting to say was $300, if a steak costs that much I would expect to not be able to finish it. It really was overrated, that said all the food was good and the service was good. If you're wanting a nice place to go in Midland, I'd check out Opals Table in the downtown area.

Overrated. No flavor. Everything was bland and was cool when it came out. It took over an hour to bring the food after ordering.The service was extremely slow and poor. The only thing I liked was the environment and music.

Had a great meal here with a few friends. The restaurant itself was beautiful, with large sepia toned photos of cowboys, white marble, deer heads,, and golden chandeliers. Think sophisticated cowboy. The food was easily the best meal we had in Midland. Their octopus appetizer was succulent and savory. The tuna tartar was a little mayo heavy, but still fun on a bed of crispy rice. And their ribeye was impeccable. So tender, seasoned expertly, and with a great char. We had quite a few old fashioneds throughout the evening and they went down so easy with the food. We capped off our night with a baked Texan, their version of a baked Alaska. We enjoyed the tableside flambe-ing, and the server even gave my friend a heads up when he was gonna light it so that my friend could video it, lol.

THIS HAS TO BE THE BEST RESTAURANT HERE IN MIDLAND! Second time here and the food is just delicious. !!! the drinks were great!!! our sever was amazing !! will definitely be going back again soon!

Food was all it should be for the price. Ceaser salad was blase..not original. David was my waiter and I've worked in restaraunts for many years and I had to school him. I tried twice to get his attention and advised him that when he leaves a station to look around and see if anybody was trying to get his attn. Then I told him to not bring the check while someone is still dining...very coffeshop. I usually tip big but TIPS means "to insure proper service". I hope he got it.

The food was delicious! The service for us was extremely slow, and not great. Our waitress was good, but her help and fact that they had her serving tables on other side of restaurant made for worse service, not her fault. It took about 45 min to receive our appetizer of oysters. They were good but small, and after 45 min we wanted main dish. An hour and half in we received our entrees. The sushi was TOP NOTCH, super tasty. And the steak sandwich was also very good and I enjoyed it a lot!! The restaurant itself has a great, upscale atmosphere. All in all I loved this restaurant, but I definitely want to go back and see if the service was a glitch or if it was that slow all the time. If service improves, I'd change to 5 star experience.

Very nice atmosphere. Booth is more comfortable than a regular table. Chairs make it uncomfortable. Food was excellent and service was spot on. I felt food was a bit over priced, but all in all a good experience.

Again, trying to find stand out dining options in Midland, TX, and THIS IS THE PLACE. All 3 dishes we ordered were exceptional. Nice sized bar area with daily happy hour deals and overall upscale ambiance. After dining here I learned the executive chef is Graham Elliot & as a Masterchef fan was super excited to have dined here. Would love to go back and taste more dishes & will absolutely prioritize coming here when in Midland!

Service was good. The ambience was nice because it was early and it was a slow night so it was quiet. Had a wonderful time with family and great food.

Second visit and was as good as the first!! We started out with crab cakes. Hubby had lamb chops, I had the salmon! Great service, friendly, attentive without being intrusive.

Great place to visit! I went with my fiancé on a busy night and everything went great. Our server Christian was very professional and attentive of our dining experience. Not once did I have to ask for anything.I decided to go with her recommendations and everything was exceptionally good! The wagyu sushi was out of this world! Christian also recommended the short rib grilled cheese sandwich and I almost ordered a second one. Will definitely be coming back!

Wonderful service, excellent meal, nice wine list, and a full bar exactly what you want in an upscale steakhouse. The menu is a la carte, with sides served family style. Our group especially enjoyed the fresh creamed spinach and asparagus. The tuna appetizer was tasty but the experience is more spice than tuna. The shrimp cocktail is quite good though. For desert, the bombe Texas is the clear winner with full table side flambé. Though the Milton chocolate cake and crème brûlée were not disappointing. Consider at least one of their signature cocktails as well- they have excellent flavor layering. They managed our party of 3 as well as they did when I visited again with a party of 7.

Probably the best steak in Midland and Odessa. BTW, Awesome music list. This is a fun great ambiance steakhouse. The menu is off the charts. They also serve Sushi! Right? I was accompanied by a beautiful woman who ordered the Fillet and I had the Ribeye. Please have them read you the dessert menu you won't be disappointed! We actually ate here three straight days.

They had a bad night on Tuesday, March 19. We have dined here on several occasions and been pleased with food, drink and service. Last night, our dining experience was not at all what it has been previously. Waitstaff were great, as usual, but the kitchen was definitely off. Wait time was excessive, and when food arrived to the table, some of the items were not what we ordered, or not properly prepared. The oysters and the drinks were great, but it's kind of hard to mess those up. When paying these prices for a good meal, it should be a good meal. I hope this was an isolated incident.

The service was fantastic. Everyone was working great together. The food was top tier! Most fabulous dinner and just a luxurious area. Great for date night or small celebration.

My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at Cowboy Prime. The food was great. I had the ribeye which was tender you could almost cut it with a folk. My wife had the NY strip which she enjoyed to the last bite. The food was excellent including the desert. Service was outstanding. We had reservations, but arrived a little early, we were seated immediately. Our waiter was very attentive and kept our water glasses full. He explained the menu and their specials and helped us make great choices. Cowboy Prime is a very classy place, the decor is modern and doesn't fit the name, but no complaints. I was expecting more of a western theme restaurant. Thank you Cowboy Prime for helping my wife and I a memorable anniversary.

I made a reservation at 9:45 pm. I came 9:20 pm and they let us wait until 10:28 pm. They should turn off the reservation if they are full capacity.

All reviews are subjective, and judged by what a restaurant is trying to be. A great burrito at a hole in the wall (love you Oscars) is different than a place selling a $200 conspicuous consumption ribeye. Service was phenomenal. 10/10. Attentive, friendly staff who provided suggestions and had real menu options. Bar staff was engaged in conversation with customers but didn't stop making drinks. Good ambiance. I liked the 80's New Wave/alternative music and the volume wasn't so loud that I couldn't have a conversation at my table. Dig the wallpaper too. It's an oddly laid out setting, but the expansion should help that. The food was disappointing. Steak tartare was good, but serving it with house chips was a big mistake. The saltiness of the chips combined with the salt from the capers overwhelmed the other flavors. I get they were going for a textural difference, but the application was poor. Some of the chips were stale, and some were overly greasy like they hadn't been drained or the fryer wasn't up to temp yet. I had the steak frites. Steak was cooked PERFECTLY medium-rare, which I've never had around here. It usually comes out medium. Frites were a massive disappointment, unless you are a time traveller from 2012. Way too much truffle oil and Parmesan. That fad needs to die. I guess since it's finally in Midland, it will. The container was there to give the dish some verticality but just allowed perfectly cooked fries to steam themselves and turn soggy. Crab cake was good, but fishy. Seafood in Midland is a crapshoot anyhow. House Caesar was great. Full sized plate portion. I could have eaten an entire bowl of the ratatouille. That was served the traditional way, not the Remy the Rat way. Creme brûlée was perfectly crisp, right texture for the custard and not overly sweet. The berry crumble would have been thrown out at your grandma's house for being a half-ass cobbler. Sauce wasn't allowed to thicken properly and the crumbles were barely cooked. If you want to spend $250 for dinner and drinks in Midland, go to Opal's Table. If you want a 'upscale', modern food dining experience for $200 in the Basin, go to Flair Taverna. If you want to support this otherwise fantastic ownership group, go to Red Oak or Cork and Pig. For the price, I can't recommend Cowboy Prime for anything other than lunch on the company card. Anybody's company card.

My server Jasmine C was amazing. She walked us through the menu was very knowledgeable and suggested some amazing drinks. She was very attentive and nice as well. The food was okay and a little cold but it's was okay. Overall the service was amazing and I will be returning.

We took Nathan to Cowboy Prime in Midland - the new restaurant by Graham Elliot!!! It was beyond divine and the service was impeccable!!! They went above and beyond for Nathan's birthday and made our 7 and 9 year old so comfortable and happy despite not having a kids menu and the fact that they were splitting a steak AND like their steak could opposite temperatures! (The chef was kind enough to cut it in half before cooking it and cooking the halves as if they were completely separate steaks from completely separate orders!) I called ahead to make sure it was kosher with the rules and they let us bring our own cake from a local bakery and then they even put their OWN candle in it when we were ready for dessert AND served it to the table while singing "happy birthday" to my husband! This was after every single employee had checked in on us throughout the meal to see if we needed anything and how we were enjoying our food and our experience or if we needed anything to be different! The price was significantly higher than our most expensive dinner out together as a family of four and I would have gladly paid double or triple for it! It was a magical night with great food (the kids asked if we could eat there every single night! and they are PICKY eaters!), incredible service, and wonderful family time! Nathan said it was the best birthday ever!!!

Their food,service, and ambiance was wonderful.I ordered the sofire sushi roll and it was amazing.how I would describe the taste is that it was sweet and spicy and their mashed potatoes are really delicious.Our server was funny.The place and setting is nice with their candles and comfy seats.And first time trying crème brûlée,it was sooo good.Overall a great experience.

Cowboy Prime ( CP) In Midland TX is the best dining experience and food in West Texas! My server Allyson did a super job getting my Ahi Tuna Sushi - Meatball and Beet Salad order to my table in no time. Be sure to check out the new CP bar space recently opened that includes its own kitchen and sushi bar. Awesome spot to hang with friends!!! Midland TX supports quality dining establishments and Felipe Armenta and his team are the best in the business !!!!

I've dined at Cowboy Prime a few times, and all previous experiences have been great. However, we took my mother out for her birthday last weekend and the service was disappointing. Our evening started off well as our waiter introduced himself and asked if we were celebrating anything, to which we said, "our mother's birthday!". He visibly made note of the occasion as he took down our cocktail order and the few 'appetizers' (wedge salad and two sushi rolls) we asked to start with. Salad and sushi rolls arrived in a timely fashion, and our entrees shortly after. Things went south once we'd received our entrees. Our waiter 'disappeared'. He did pop by to make sure our entrees were prepared correctly as soon as they arrived, but did not appear for another half hour! We'd finished our meal, drank out cocktails, and our water glasses were empty. We sat (patiently) waiting for half an hour before I finally asked another member of the wait staff to find our server. After the prompt he resurfaced and offered us dessert. Two things - 1. We may have been interested in dessert if we hadn't waited so long. 2. I don't expect anything to be given, but to see him make note of the birthday and not offer anything is poor taste. We politely declined dessert and patiently waited as we thought he was getting our check. After another 15 minutes passed, we started to wonder if 'maybe' he was doing something for our mother's birthday. Another 10 minutes of waiting and we again had to asked another waitress to find our waiter. Shortly after the manager arrived with our check. Nothing to acknowledge the birthday. We provided our cards for payment and moved on. After paying the bill another staff member stopped by to acknowledge (with words) the birthday we were celebrating. I can only assume it's because my facial features upon receiving the bill were not very 'polite'. Mind you, we were a party of three, our bill was about $300, and our dining experience was almost three hours long, so we were tired as well. I'm an established event coordinator, so I do have very high standards, but I also set those standards to meet each event/dinner I host. Cowboy Prime is one of the most elite restaurants in Midland and it was disappointing to leave the restaurant with such distaste due to our experience.

4.5 for sure! We went for a date night on a Tuesday and got in right at our reservation time. The atmosphere was nice. Our server Emily was amazing! The food was really good. The dessert was really good. Can't wait to try this place for lunch now.

Fantastic place to have a delicious gourmet highly satisfying meal. The ambiance is very elegant with positive vibes, waiting staff all were very friendly and helpful. Cost on the high end but totally worth it. Ordered many of the items on the menu, everything was spot on and more. Highly recommend it!

For such a high end establishment. Wait time for service should never exceed 20 mins @ 1:10 on a Monday. we were 1 of 5 individuals in the entire place. We finally had to realize we were not going to get waited on so we got up and left.

Suspense pulsing as pensively I awaited a coveted seat for a month.. Alas, a sibling of "Cork & Pig", the acclaimed & wondrous embodiment of subtle elegance, exquisitely fresh, consistent food & hospitality lustrous & abounding amongst each employee I have encountered. Chef Graham Elliot alights us with his renowned reputation & glistens with the magnificence of his two Michelin Star awards, TV personae & weeping patrons for restaurant closures in Chicago... Adoration intact & vision resonates as you enter a subtle, welcoming yet classy representation of couture West Texas wrapped in chic upscale charm. The hostess was warm, spirited & expedient to seat with a continuation of waiter, "Marcos" displaying passion for food, ambience & loyalist demeanor for this burgeoning endeavor. Wine list provided the standards & a few new untried invites to which I chose the "Elks Cove Pinot Gris 2021", which was liquid ambrosia for those who indulge in Pinot Grigio & at a reasonable price point. Ravenous, I ordered the "Shprt Rib Stroganof" & thr "Garlic Brocvollini", "Mac & Cheese" Sooooo..., my spine tingled as the arrival of the Stroganoff was beautifully deconstructed & plated on a platform incorporating a large browned, beauty of beef, lovely shells of Al dente pasta laden in a dark brown reduction with a light brown rim of something reminiscent of refried beans & a final lovely bright green most of obviously delectable oil dimming the plate. Anticipation led to buttery tender short rib over perfect pasta shells with a well loved brown reduction, tasteless brown paste as well a virtually tasteless but,visually enticing green oil. The temperature of the main course was less than tepid & yet the Mac & Cheese was stupendous like a smidge behind hot. I requested a reheat but, not re do of the Stroganoff & the waiter Marcos was beyond the absolute of precision, passion for excellence in cuisine & service. Temperature corrected & perfect, a poised fork dove in. Not to be redundant but, each facet of the plate was cooked to a degree of superior which is highly regarded by myself. Inhale deep & arduous exhale to say the following, "It was lightly salted." Although, we regard premium beef as royal in Texas; I personally cannot say my palate chooses a moist yet, reheated dish by a a Michelin rockstar which is bereft of seasoning. Conversely, I want dreams to haunt me as to magical seasonings, rogue citrus additions & what rub or douse of liquid that converted already premium Texas beef into a pristine masterpiece. Hopscotch to Cork & Pig as the food is novel worthy & hospitality equals as well as ambience! Cowboy Prime needs a couple dashes of love! See y'all in 6 months.. Here is to 23 being the best & thank you to all staff as you are simply impeccable!!

I attended a work meeting for dinner. This place is very nice! Staff go above and beyond to make sure you feel welcome. Food is wonderful! Most of our table had different types of steak they really enjoyed. I had chicken that was very good-tender, well cooked and seasoned. We had tartare both beef and tuna that the others enjoyed- I don't eat. Also had Rock Shrimo that was fabulous- could have eaten as meal. Cocktails were wonderful- try the Midland Sunset if you like sweet drinks. Restaurant is just way too small! We went in a Tuesday night and had no where to sit to wait for our table. Bar area had only a few seats at bar, no standing room. Only 1 person restroom with location on way to kitchen so no good place to stand to be out of the way while waiting. Very pricey experience but was worth it for food/drinks.

I have been here two different times with friends. We ordered appetizers and ordered of the dinner menu. The food is o k not great overrated. It's all about atmosphere and if you want to show off how much you spend on an overpriced steak. Good cocktails but you can good cocktails any other places in Midland.

I really enjoy having their mushroom soup and sushi i would highly recommend this place. I usually go there for my lunch hour .
