14 Excellent Spots For South Asian Cuisine In Houston | Eater Houston

"This eatery is knocking it out of the park with its creative Indian-Texan mashups like naan quesadilla or a thick, juicy chicken fried steak served with a side of masala fries. The Himalaya burger flavored with abundant Indian spices and topped with fried onions is another favorite. Top it all off with a refreshing margarita, Texas-style." - Nadia Gire

This place has been on my bucket list for a while, and even though I’m not usually a fan of Indian food, I finally decided to give it a try and I’m so glad I did. When you walk in, you order at the bar, and the staff brings the food to your table. I chose a few items from their happy hour menu, and let me tell you, I was not disappointed. I ordered the pizza, the taco, and the butter chicken masala — and wow, every single bite was incredibly delicious. I honestly can’t express just how good the food was. The restrooms are located down the hallway and were very clean and well-maintained, with separate facilities for men and women. They also have outdoor patio seating, which is a nice option. Parking can be a bit tricky if they’re busy, but it’s worth the hassle. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, checking in regularly to make sure everything was perfect. I also really appreciate that they offer high-top seating a small detail, but one I enjoy. The atmosphere is calm, casual, and welcoming. All in all, this is definitely a must-try spot. This place is unique, the combination of American food and Indian food is awesome. The samosas were great. The curry combination plate was good, because you get to try all the different offerings, I will say things needed salt but you can add that. The owner if you get to meet him was an added experience. He's wonderful and accommodatable.

If you’re craving a fresh take on Indian cuisine, this Indian fusion spot is a hidden gem that deserves a spot on your must-try list. Combining the bold, comforting spices of traditional Indian cooking with global flavors and modern techniques, the menu here is as inventive as it is delicious. My personal favorites are Korma deviled eggs, lamb and chicken kebabs, Naan-chos. Overall, this restaurant is a bold and beautiful representation of what fusion food should be: not just mixing ingredients, but thoughtfully blending culinary cultures. Highly recommended for anyone open to a little adventure on their plate.

In the wise words of Riri..."where.have.you.been.all my.life.life.life?"🎶 If you're nervous about the quality of food in a fusion-style establishment...don't be. This was a long-time instagram save that we finally made it out to. I have never had a taco that was so good that has made me laugh. This taco. Made with paratha, the sweet, chewy bread that was almost like a chalupa filled with mildly spiced chicken. So good! We had the vegan curry flight, pani puri (with sweet cream? It works, idk why, but it does), garlic naan, and Mumbai taco. We ate everything on every dish with no regrets. We left planning our next meals there. Service was friendly, place was clean. Felt like it was in a safe area. Great date vibes, styled nicely with many photo spots, including a large mural outside.

Vibe- Came with my friend to eat and do some brainstorming and we’ve already decided we’ll be back! There was plenty of seating and space. I really liked how the tables were spaced out and there was art all around. Customer service- Amazing! Food/drinks- I tried the veggie naan-quesadillas, saag peener Italian pizza, and the sweet potato fries. Everything was soooooo good!! I also got a watermelon margarita to drink and it was good. Parking- There was about 18 spots in the lot and parking wasn’t a problem when I went on a Wednesday around noon.

Expected better but it wasn’t too bad. Butter chicken was kinda watery, the briyani was alright and the Nanchos were alright as well. Nothing really stood out.

This place is great! The sliders are probably the best I’m not really into Indian food. It was great tho!!!

Google
We had a terrible experience dining here. We were really looking forward to trying this place, but did not have a good experience. Food: curry is not very flavor it’s and quite watery. The nan did not feel authentic, just a normal piece of flatbread. It tastes like the naan you buy from the grocery store and not hand made. We were confused why the pan puri had whipped cream in it, which made it weird too sweet and creamy. The fries and deviled eggs were good. Service and ambiance: we were attended to only once because there was an event. They didn’t corner the event off and it was just open to the entire restaurant. We were seated in the back but it was still encroached by the people at the event. It was so loud in there that I could not heard myself talk. Would not recommend.

Yelp
I went on a Sunday to avoid the crowd and I scored a touchdown! I tried the beef samosas, deviled eggs and the Saag Paneer. I loved the flavor of the Paneer, although it was not as thick as I am accustomed to. The samosas were good; however, I did not care that much for the Korma deviled eggs. This is not to say they were bad; I wanted to see what panko would do for the eggs. In my opinion, it was a distraction. The Texas Strawberry lemonade was good and tart. I also tried the tangy bandit. It had a lovely presentation and refreshing taste. I have to say I was a bit surprised at how refreshing it is considering its ingredients. This is a nice summer drink. The staff were very accommodating and professional. I wanted to sit outside and enjoy this beautiful day in Houston and the furniture outside had dirt on it. Manager) offered and came out and cleaned the table off for me. I have to say there is the menu is quite interesting and that it has cuisine from several different continents. Of course, the Tex-Mex or Texas fusion is quite common but the kebabs Saag Paneer and lamb not everybody can do those as well. Customer Service is excellent at this business. And I would recommend you give it a try. GN3

Yelp
Located in between Shepherd and Durham in the Rice Military area. Parking is available in their private lot and streetside. The interior is fairly clean and modern and feels like a nice bar vibe. Service is interesting; you order at the bar and they'll bring the food to you after you seat yourself. Came here and ordered a mango lassi to start, which was a bit bland and devoid of fresh mango taste for $6. Got the premade feeling. We ordered some beef samosas and masala fries for appetizers. The samosas were fine but tasted pre-prepared. The masala fries were also fine but missing a bit more sauce/content and ended up being like standard French fries after you get through the top layer. For mains, we did family style and got ribeye skewers, butter chicken, and lamb vindaloo. Each entree came with a small portion of rice as well. The butter chicken and lamb vindaloo were both quite watery and lacking content; maybe a few pieces of meat in each dish with a fairly watery sauce. The rice was also a bit bland as far as Indian style basmati rice goes. Overall, there were some hits and some misses on the food. Everything was fair but the dishes today were mostly Indian and they were a bit shy of expectations; we did not try their burgers or the Tex-fusion portion of their menu.

Yelp
This was definitely a fusion lol The service was great, the restaurant was very clean, and the decor was super cute! The food was flavorful and a little on the spicer side but the portion were all pretty small except for the fries. I would probably come back to try other items but for $56 I kinda expected more ‍

Yelp
Used EatDrinkHTX as an excuse to finally try this spot! I like the concept, fun fusion dishes throughout the menu. There are some parking spots which is nice. The interior is nicely decorated and the vibe is casual, you order at the counter whenever you're ready and they bring food to the table. The food came out at weird intervals, the first courses and one second course came together, then the other second course took a little longer to come. Masala fries were definitely the most appealing on the menu, but I was honestly disappointed. There wasn't enough flavoring to make it taste different than regular loaded fries. I think it'd be more interesting if there wasn't some kind of curry sauce rather than just the spice mix. The deviled eggs were surprisingly tasty, I liked how crispy the coating was and the filling was a nice complement. The chicken fried chicken was my favorite second course, the meat was juicy and flavorful and the coating was well seasoned. The mashed potatoes were pretty standard. I liked that there was both white gravy and curry sauce, which actually went together nicely. The naan-chos were a little disappointing, perhaps because they took so long to come out. I liked that the bread pieces were crispy, the toppings were basically normal nacho toppings with spiced chicken. Again, I wish there was more special sauce on there like the curry sauce rather than ranch. The desserts were good, I liked the pistachio affogato. The ice cream was a nice pairing. And I liked the regular gulub jaman with the rose syrup. I would consider coming here for happy hour and trying more of the regular menu.

Yelp
I had to really take some time to think about what I wanted to write, because I like to be fair. I and no one of the group I came with, had never been here before. We did't know what to expect. First the parking situation was in my opinion way to small and very inconvenient. A few of us had to park on the street and walk. Next, again please keep in mind we are all newbies to this cuisine. This restaurant is counter service and you do not have waitstaff to help guide and explain the menu. Again, only my opinion. We decided on a few dishes went to the counter and ordered. The food came out one plate or two at a time. We all tried something different, just for the experience. We all decided it was a fun experience and a few agreed they would return if in the area. If you like spice, this is your kinda place. I could tell several regulars were there that evening and they do a pretty good business. Thanks to Jessica for being so gracious at welcoming us in. PS. Please add sweet tea to the drink menu especially if you are going to offer Texas/ Cowboy type food. Just a thought. Website menu varies from menu on site.

Yelp
I've been a fan for a long time and they haven't missed yet. I've followed them since the beginning and I'll go wherever they go. lol food is good, it's always a vibe in the restaurant, and now they have a pretty good happy hour.

Yelp
Where to begin. Service is non existent We sat at the bar and waited and waited to order drinks in a near empty restaurant. Bartender was uninterested. We ate here 7 months ago and it was great. Now ceiling is caving in and no table service. We left after waiting for someone to take order because we were never told to order at the bar. Never coming back and the new was dismal.

Yelp
First the good: Veg samosas were excellent. Garlic naan was nice and soft and garlicky. The person who took our order was very nice. Neutral and not a problem: It is order at the counter and then you are on your own for utensils, drinks, napkins and to-go containers. Now the bad: the mint chutney was just okay but the tamarind sauce was not good at all. Very watery and had no sweetness as I always find elsewhere. Rather tart. The butter chicken, while the actual flavor was not bad, it was so watery that it really ruined it. The medium spice level was good for giving it a good bite and I would call the dish okay but my husband didn't care for it all all. Same for the veggie curry. Thin, watery and 95% chickpeas and just a couple tiny bits of potato and two green pieces that looked like okra which neither of us would eat. Hoped to have a conveniently close Indian joint but it was not good enough to go back.

Yelp
Went on a slower day for lunch and though the service was good the food was sub par. I think if people are coming they should expect less authentic flavors. We tried the Mumbai pani puri, the Himalayan heat burger, and the short rib nihari. The pani puri was good however the dollop of whipped cream they put on it was a bit off putting especially because all the other flavors are savory. (3/10) The Himalayan heat burger was a decent burger but just nothing special to set it apart from any other burger. (5/10) The short rib nihari was the best thing we tried and it was tender but the flavor did not resemble nihari and the dish did not have enough broth to be considered a nihari. (6/10)

Yelp
My husband and I recently went o Cowboys and Indians during Restaurant week. The parking lot is fairly small and was packed during busy hours. All appetizers We delicious, especially the fries. We both ordered the curry flight, which was delicious. Each curry held its spice, which is feel many americanized indian restaurants fail to give in order to cater to it audience. I personally enjoyed all 3 but loved the butter chicken the most. Despite restaurant week prices, I think everything on the menu was decently priced. Food over all was great. Our server was nice, and ambiance could definitely get some updating. Overall, it was a great experience. We would definitely return.

Yelp
If you love Indian cuisine and fusion restaurants you will very much enjoy Cowboys & Indians. There is something for everyone from authentic Indian delicacies to American fusion classics. There is a rather extensive food and cocktail menu to choose from. The exterior is eye catching with beautiful murals and a chill outdoor/patio section. There is a small parking lot out front, and street parking nearby. The interior has a fun ambiance. There is both Indian styled decor and Americana decor. The lighting is rather dim, perfect for date nights. The servers were all very observant and attentive. Our drinks were always filled, our questions answered, and they were on the spot with to-go boxes, etc. I also liked that a manager checked in on us a couple times. He also delivered an Indian appetizer, asked if we had tried it. We hadn't, so, he walked us through how it was traditionally prepared and eaten as there were a couple components. Some tips: Definitely try one of the delicious cocktails. They're all beautifully crafted and very tasty. I would also try at least one of the fusions items just to experience their take on a classic. The curry flight is also a great way to try a variety of curries and proteins (or vegan and vegetarian options). The Houston Restaurant Weeks menu for this spot is actually a great way to try a variety of their delicacies. Also, grab a complementary jolly rancher on the way out. Cheers!!

Yelp
Loved this place! Unique concept, Indian food meets Tex-Mex. Great looking, and well stocked, bar. Lots of different types of seating arrangements, high top tables, benches, booths and stand alone tables, makes this a unique hang out. Food was great, mixed drinks were creative and the bartender helping us was fabulous!

Yelp
This place was a vibe! Great atmosphere, friendly and welcoming staff, and great food! I had the strawberry lemonade which was delicious and also got the Naan-Quesadillas with steak. The quesadilla was so flavorful. It had pieces of onion and red peppers in it along with the steak. I would 100% recommend trying and will definitely be back to eat there again.
google avatar

Yelp
I had a good time at cowboys and Indians. The vibe was super awesome there, and the food was just ok. They had some super cool things on the menu. I got the naanchos. They were just ok - I felt like I could've had Better nachos and better Indian food. But the aloo gobi was super awesome and the paratha was awesome. I was also a little disappointed by the masala chai... it was super light. The service here was pretty good, they were very attentive :) Overall, I had a good experience. Was fun to try some of the fusion dishes. A cool place to bring someone but idk if I'd go back by myself

Yelp
This little gem is perfect for those Houston traffic hours meet up. Why rush when you can stop eat and relax. The service was amazing food was served hot and delicious. The facilities is small but it is decorated nicely and interactive. A great place for intimate gatherings or friend discussions.

Yelp
The ambiance was great, food was amazing, & the service was even better. The staff was very attentive without being too much. They had some very unique dishes that I was excited to try & then to discover all small plates were $8 during my visit made it even better. Will definitely be returning!!

Yelp
I went here once before but didn't get a chance to try any of the menu items because I had to head to another meeting. But I finally got a chance to experience this cute restaurant in all its glory via a celebration of my friend Imran's recent award! Got to hang out with my buddies and just enjoy a super fun evening! This restaurant has some of the best staff that Houston has to offer with some of the most flavorful Indian fusion dishes you can find around. Parking is free, plenty of it as well as street parking and outdoor in door seating! Amazing! I forgot to take pics of the food and drinks! That's how much fun I was having!
google avatar

Caroline R.

Yelp
The lady at the register was so nice and sweet!! The food also has unique and fun flavors and highly recommend coming for happy hour for some great deals on their food and drinks! The decor is also beautiful and the artwork is super cool.
google avatar

Serra M.

Yelp
You cannot go wrong with a $3 happy hour margarita and it was Good! I did not order from the happy hour menu for food, but I chose something off the regular menu...butter chicken. I thought it was ok, I was not really impressed. However the naan was really good. The service was ok and the ambiance was ok.
google avatar

Mike R.

Yelp
I guess I was just hoping for more from Cowboy's and Indians. Went at lunch today and it was just dead. Strange place. Small area for seating, much larger area that seemed to be a bar, or maybe a party room. The Masala Fries were good. Was going for the Texas Indian Fusion vibe so I ordered the chicken fried chicken which came with a gravy (not much flavor) and a butter chicken type sauce that was billed as spicy. The Chicken breast was much thinner than I had hoped and therefore kind of dry. Tasty enough, and the butter chicken sauce was flavorful, but not spicy. The gravy added some moisture, but not much of anything else. Perhaps I should have stuck to the more traditional Indian dishes and I would have had a more flavorful experience. Not sure If I will return.

Yelp
Our server Rashad was fantastic! It was our first time here and he walked us through the menu and described flavors, incredibly helpful! We tried the Butter Chicken and Short rib Nihari. Both were incredibly flavorful and the short ribs slid right off the bone. The butter chicken curry is available is your preference of heat, so we liked that option. We also ordered the Naan flight to try the different varieties and enjoyed them all. Service was very attentive, food and drinks were good, and good ambience. Only reason for losing a star was the temperature... the a/c is cold here. The Manager initially adjusted it a bit for us and it did get more comfortable. But as more diners filled tables it was bounced back to cold and I wished I had brought a sweater. And, yes my male guest felt the same Can't wait to go back and try more items. This is a fabulous, neighborhood gem!

Yelp
Visiting a friend in Houston, and he recommended this place for their chicken fried chicken. It was absolutely divine! We also enjoyed the naan-os....nachos but with naan chips. So good! Guys had the mashed potatoes which are tasty and homemade, but I recommend the Brussels sprouts!! So good with the chili sauce. 10/10

Amy M.

Yelp
Great food and sweet employees! Drinks from the bar took a while to get, though. Silverware and drinks are self-service but the atmosphere and seating is well-done and relaxing (especially outside in the evening). Bathrooms are also nice - family bathroom is very accommodating.
google avatar

Yelp
Ok, I've visited enough times to say that Cowboys and Indians is good. Really good! Their menu is eclectic (Tex-Mex, Indian, and more) but you can definitely order the old faithfuls if you ask nicely. The butter chicken is great and tender. The short rib is epic in both flavor and tenderness. Everything I've tried is yummy. Ordering via phone is a bit of a struggle but they get the job done. Parking is easy which means a lot to me. It's tasty and convenient which makes me a repeat patron. Cheers!
google avatar

Gouchlien T.

Yelp
The food was really good. Had the country fried chicken and butter chicken. The fried chicken was tender and crisp. The butter chicken was flavorful. The parking is a bit limited. You order at the bar counter, sit down, and the food is brought to you. There is a good vibe and ambiance there.
google avatar

Katherine P.

Yelp
Amazing happy hour 3-7 everyday. Jessica brings a big smile to everyone who walks in the door and a wonderful team in the kitchen cooks up tasty meals! For starters.... try the flat bread with butter chicken (my favorite!). Menu has a lot of variety - Nice combo of authentic Indian food (for me) with generous sized burgers on the menu for cowboys and cowgirls. Came by myself and plan to "share the love" and bring friends this week.

Yelp
I came here after seeing so many Instagram videos promoting this place. I thought the concept was super cool, but it didn't live up to my expectations. The restaurant itself is very cute for Instagram photos, but the food wasn't the best and the servings are small. I had the saag paneer which was loaded with paneer, just too small of a serving. Wasn't really a fan of how they seasoned it either. The service was good though. They also have a bar that looked nice inside the restaurant so may be worth coming back to check it out. Be prepared to have a tip for the valet if you come here.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch, they do have separate menus for Lunch and Dinner. Chef Vinnie is such an amazing cook as well as a wonderful personality. The owner if you get the chance to meet him is someone you will find you definitely cares about his business and your experience. The vibe is very laid back, family oriented but can also be vibrant, upbeat & upscale if you choose so this venue is very versatile which I love. Perfect location for happy hour, business lunch/dinner or birthday party or wedding reception. There is a beautiful outside patio with murals that are inside as well. Naanchos - Naan topped with BBQ sauce, cheese, grilled chicken, etc...it was a nice twist on stand nachos, not as heavy but very filling. Chicken Garlic Naanwich - Wow, the coleslaw on this wich is a star! The garlic Naan filled with flavor accenting the chicken, you can't go wrong with fries, you'll probably only finish half the sandwich. Very filling. The bar is fully equipped and boy their bar menu is delicious. I went with the GOOD KARMA because who doesn't want that! So refreshing and popping with fruity flavors and tang, total delight! Definitely support this local business vs. the Tarka or other chains, you won't regret it!

Yelp
I came here for the Eat Drink HTX. That menu is short and sweet, but has everything that I want to get. I had the beef samosas, and pani puri for first course. I had the butter chicken and chana masala, and saag paneer and lamb vindaloo for second course. The beef samosas were crispy but the fillings were little. The pani puris were crunchy, yogurt mousse had a good flavor contrast, but the trial mix inside did not go well with the sauces. The butter chicken was cooked ok but the gravy was watery. As for the lamb, it wasn't tender and it was dry. Though there was a good amount of spiciness in the dishes, both dishes lacked the deep spice flavors in the gravies. I had the Calcutta cocktail too which was ok. Service was subpar. The male server was nowhere to be found. Then came the female server whom was more attentive. They have brunch menu on Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 3pm. There are outdoor seatings but today was too cold for that. Parking lot is small but there is street parking. Complimentary valet parking is also available just outside the restaurant.

Yelp
I found out about this place through a Yelp Elite Event. I really loved getting to know Chef Vinnie, so I definitely had to come back! I also took two friends, who really liked it! They have Happy Hour from 3-6, Monday-Thursday and it's definitely awesome. The shareables are amazing and reasonably priced. We ordered the naan quesadilla, deviled eggs, coconut shrimp, the fries & beef samosas. All exceptional and great portion size. We spilt the appetizers between 3 people and had some leftovers to take home! We all left full and very happy. We also ordered the mocktails, Cowboy Spirits which is bomb! Loved our waiter, super kind, attentive and checked on us regularly. So did Chef Vinnie which is also very nice. The vibe is great, plenty of seating indoors and they also have outdoor seating. Parking was fine, but if it's crowded, you might have to find street parking. Definitely check it out!

Yelp
this butter chicken flatbread is phenomenal! as I was leaving work I had a huge sweets craving so I ordered dessert first - like smothered donut holes but BETTER! Gulab Jamun. I had my birthday here in the past + hadn't been back. private parking lot but somewhat tight fit. $3 rita on happy hour. $8 small plates as well. host recommend masala fries + they were great. counter/bar service only now. also didn't have steak night after all which was a small let down. customer service was great + made up for it.

Yelp
We use to go a lot to the old location but today was my first time at the new location. So many great things to say about this place from the service, ambiance, and the food. This place is truly one of the best fusion restaurants you can eat at. We got the nachos, chicken fried chicken, and quesadillas. Although I wasn't a fan of the nachos, I thought everything else was very good.
google avatar

Emily S.

Yelp
Incredible Indian/Tex-Mex fusion! And don't let "fusion" fool you - the spice levels are authentic. Calcutta drink - I'm a sucker for anything lychee, and this drink hit the spot! It's on the sweeter side and the alcohol isn't too overpowering, which I really liked. I found myself finishing this drink before the main dishes came - whoops! Masala Fries - the star of the night. This dish really encapsulated the fusion this place is known for - the 65 sauce and chaat seasoning paired perfectly with the cheese and pico de gallo. Simply incredible. Mumbai Pani Puri - I've never seen pani puri with cream on top like this, but I liked it! The exterior was delicate with a nice crunch, and the inside tasted just like I've had at other Indian restaurants. Bhindi (okra) - As someone with a high spice tolerance, I was surprised at how spicy this was! It wasn't too bad at first, but it really built up. The okra was delicious, and the accompanying potatoes hit the spot. Butter chicken - tasted like classic butter chicken. My only complaint is that there weren't that many chicken pieces.

Yelp
One of the best happy hour places inside the loop! The food is always phenomenal. I think we got one of everything from the happy hour menu and I got the curry flight as well. It was so good we forgot to take photos. The staff is very attenative and we will definitely be back!

Yelp
Loved this place for dinner! Great service, and ambience! The food was also 5 stars, would definitely return.

Yelp
We wanted to give this place a shot and would absolutely come back for round 2! The staff was extremely attentive and kind as soon as we walked in; 3-4 different people had checked on us through our visit, which was a pleasant surprise. The restaurant was well decorated, lots of character and great ambience with the lighting. Their Houston Restaurant Week dinner was $55 per person but shareable with another individual! The Paneer Pepper Salad was full of flavor and bright in its presentation due to the colors of the mango, cherry tomato, sweet peppers, etc. The best part about this dish was the fried paneer cheese mixed in! The Naan-Chos was probably our favorite because who doesn't love naan? It's a true mixture of what I would expect "Cowboys & Indians" would look like on a plate; nacho style for Tex-Mex and the naan for your traditional Indian food. The Short Rib Nihari will be worth our 2nd visit. It was very tender and chana masala mixed in with Star anise, ginger and cardamon was exquisite to our palates! Finally, the Chocolate Lava Cake was the choice for desert. A bit disappointing as it wasn't quite as moist as I anticipated nor did it have much of the molten chocolate center so I would suggest potentially giving another desert a shot if you're a huge lava cake fan like myself.

Yelp
Ordered from this spot through Postmates late Friday night and it did not disappoint. My friend and I ordered the Naan Quesadillas and the Chicken Fire Grilled Kebabs. The Naan was crispy on the outside and doughy on the inside. The chicken filling flavored with the sauce and mozzarella made this appetizer fantastic. This dish also comes with sour cream and pico degallo which compliments this quesadillas perfectly. Not to mention, we had leftovers so the next day, I just popped it in the airfryer and it was just as good as when I had it the night before. As for the Chicken Fire Grilled Kebabs, the chicken was so tender, juicy, and flavorful. Both meats and veggies were grilled perfectly and when you put the sauce on top, it's *chef's kiss*. I hope to be able to visit this spot in person next time because this fusion of Indian and Tex-Mex is done right

Yelp
I wanted to love this; it's such a cute concept! Everyone we met was very nice. Cocktails were strong (not particularly balanced though). Food was brilliantly conceived but lost points in the translation. Flatbread was the clear winner of the night!

Yelp
This looked like an interesting concept so we drove in to town to check it out. We were there at a quiet time with less than 1/4 of the tables occupied so parking was no issue and the service was excellent. It is quite an attractive place inside, with decor around the fusion theme. Started with the "Naan-chos" which were really tasty if no so much like nachos. We had curries for the entree, the flight and the shrimp. Both were delicious, and a decent portion for the price. Finished up with a fruit pudding from the chef's special menu which was magnificent. The only minor flaw was the hwan, which was OK but we didn't think it was up to the caliber of the rest of the food. Full bar and a nice selection of mocktails for non-drinkers and a decent selection of local draft beers, mostly St. Arnolds as well as some Indian imports.

Yelp
I had such a great time during our YES event last week that I decided to bring my family from out of town this past Sunday. They only eat halal and this restaurant serves halal. We made a reservation for 2pm to take advantage of happy hour since we were a big group of 7. They served the brunch menu until 3pm, and the items on happy hour. Server stated that the lunch menu is only available Mon-Fri. Valet parking in the front is complimentary for tips. The restaurant wasn't too busy when we arrived at that time. Our servers did a great job with taking our orders. We ordered a few apps for the table and our own individual entrees. For appetizers we had pani puri and beef samosas. A few of the beef samosas were over cooked and filling burned, but they remade the order quickly. I had the steak naan quesadillas and masala fries. They both were good. I would have liked a little more cheese but the seasoning was on point. The masala fries had a few sauces on top and were tasty also. My parents waited a little long to get their tea at the end of the meal. But overall, food and service was a 4 star. My issue that I had was after my fiancé paid the bill. He didn't know that at least 4 of our items should have been discounted for happy hour and he paid while I was in bathroom. So I didn't notice the error until after we left. I called for the manager and spoke to Jessica the next day (Monday evening) and she stated that she was busy and if I could call tomorrow around 2pm. Being that I'm also very busy while at work, I forgot until after I got off. And called her again on Tuesday evening. She once again told me she was busy and would take my number to look over the bill "once things slowed down". She never called me back Tuesday night. At this point I am irritated because it should not take this long to correct this error. You promote a certain pricing that should have already been on the bill for happy hour, and were charged full price for the those items. Wednesday I called for the THIRD time and spoke to a different manager, Carter. I am grateful that she took the time to correct the issue within 10 minutes of me calling even though she sounded like she was busy as well. She took my number and sent a copy of the corrected receipt once she adjusted the appetizers that were supposed to be half off. And then she followed up with a call to make sure I saw it. She was professional and had great follow up. Having to run after a manager for 3 days in a row to correct a billing error made me remove one star from my review.

Yelp
Incredibly underwhelming. The CNI Salad was drenched in an extremely acidic viniagrette and lacked any other flavor but that. The curry for the butter chicken seemed underdeveloped and not as thick as it should be, also lacked flavor. They charge 3 whole dollars for a side of naan and you don't get even an entire piece of naan. The portions are small. We also tried the veggie samosas (didn't get a photo) and they were...odd. Not a traditional samosa by any means. The outside was a phyllo dough. It seemed like it was stuffed with mashed potatoes.

Yelp
Thought I would try this place cause I saw it in Insta. Had the Curry sampler and was very disappointed to say the least. First off the Naan was not fresh and tasted like the Naan you can get at HEB. The Vindaloo had 2 pieces of meat and one piece of potato. It was watery and lamb had a bad flavor. The butter chicken had 3 pieces in it and was also watery and lacked any flavor. The saag looked old and did not taste fresh like it was sitting in a pot for days. The basmati wasn't even cooked well. Now I know why the place was empty.

Yelp
So grateful they moved from Montrose closer to us in the Washington Heights area. Love this place. Great blend of hardy American cuisine with Indian flare. Huge portions especially for Houston Restaurant Weeks. Everything from the samosas to the curried flights and desserts was delicious! Open floor plan with lots of light, great attentive staff, and fresh cuisine. Highly recommend especially if you are hungry and enjoy flavorful food. Yum!

Yelp
Cuisine that I have never seen before - loved everything we got! This was my second time. This visit got the naanachos with beef and chicken, and split the burger and lamb lunch plate. Everything was so fresh and delicious. First time I got the lamb vindaloo. So good. Tip: get the side salad instead of fries - very nice mix of veggies, greens and light dressing. Besides great food, the customer service was spot-on and decor is unique and very attractive.

Yelp
Came here to celebrate my birthday and it was such a great decision. Tons of food and drink options with great twists of Tex mex and Indian. Service was good. Ambiance needs to be a bit better. It was too dark to eat.

Yelp
Kitchen was a little backed up bc lots of Uber eats orders. Service was ok. Most of the fusion food seemed to be just the shareable apps. The entrees are mostly Indian dishes. They were all delicious. My favorite was the chicken naan quesadilla and the mozzarella and garlic naan. Overall, food was good. Service could be a little better. Cocktails were not really mixed well.

Yelp
The ambience is good the food smashing a fusion of Indian and Tex-Mex. It's done well. My flexitarian friend raved about the coconut shrimp with curry notes. The vegan options limited the vegetarian many. I had the hummus plate which featured guacamole hummus and yoghurt my friend loved said the cucumber brought out the cool flavours. The flatbread is among the best I have ever had and I have Indian food frequently. There is ample parking

Yelp
Was a little skeptical about this place, due to the fusion concept, but I ended up loving it! Got the nachos, pani puri, paneer butter masala, and shrimp stuffed avocado. Loved all the dishes, must get the pani puri and the chef's special shrimp stuffed avocado. Our waiter was very personable and provided great service. Definitely recommend this spot if you're looking for something new.
