"Coyotas de Sonora offers Sonoran-style pastries with fillings like dulce de leche, marzipan, guava, and piloncillo. These crispy, Pop Tart-like sweets are baked by Marisela and Juan Parada and are available on weekends." - Matthew Kang

"Marisela Parada of Coyotas Sonora spends most of her weekends on East LA’s Street Vendor Row, on the south side of Whittier Boulevard in front of the Commerce Center between the Wells Fargo and an optometry office. ... Little by little, and with lots of patience—and samples —Marisela and Juan are winning over this tough crowd of skeptics in LA’s growing Sonoran culinary scene." - Bill Esparza

I ordered several packs of coyotas online because I really, really wanted coyotas, but my mom hasn't brought any back from Mexico in quite a while. When I say that these coyotas are simply perfect, I mean it. The pastry is not oily and the filling is not overly sweet. I was upset at first that I paid this much for mere pastries, bit the quality and deliciousness definitely makes up for my empty wallet. I would definitely purchase coyotas from here again. I had the dulce de leche and fig flavors and they were equally good! Also, they came perfectly packed with minimal damage to the pastries after shipping over halfway across the country.

Authentic & delicious. A perfect crisp with flavorful filling. My favorite are the Guava and PILONCILLO. Every bite takes you back home to Sonora. I love these coyotas. 100%recommended. They become an addiction!!!

Never had a Coyota before. But after tasting these, I don’t see a reason for going to Sonora for them!
