Xavier is the new owner, and he has kept Coyotes true to it's fresh and well flavored menu. We love this place and have been coming here for years and will continue to do so. Only difference we see so far is he has added a few large TVs to the bar area. We did the 2 protein fajitas and they were absolutely delicious, Fresh tortillas! Edit spelling errors

Google
2 basic carne asada tacos for that price? Unless it's Wagyu, no reason for that. Go to Roberto's if you want tacos. The taste isn't worth the price.

Google
Very nice calm place. Delicious food and drinks. Would come back. Thank you.

I took a friend to dinner here last night and both our meals were subpar. His Chili Verde was soupy and bland, very little meat or flavor. The beef in my fajitas was burned, not grilled - it was stringy and tough. Coyote's has been a favorite of mine for at least 10 years and a place I recommended to many. Several have come back to me and said it wasn't that good. Now I understand why. It's too bad - used to be a great place.

Google
Awesome Food. Great atmosphere and friendly wait staff. Table side Guacamole was so good. Vegetarian Enchiladas were so good. And the Peach Marquita was off the hook. And Hubby got them to sing Happy Birthday to me too. <3 Thank you again, we'll be back

Google
I used to love this place. At one point, my family would visit this restaurant every month. However, since there’s a new owner and management, the place has completely changed. Not only has the quality of the food declined, but the service has as well. It's sad to see

Google
The service and atmosphere were really quite something. The food was good, but not extraordinary. I would definitely go here again, though.

We've lived in the Green Valley area for over 30 years. We know Coyote's has been in the same location for a long time. We were there many years ago and I remember the food being good. I think the reason we didn't go back for so long is because there have been so many more Mexican Restaurants opening since then. But last weekend we tried it again. It was a Saturday night and the place surprisingly wasn't too busy. I had the Combo Fajitas and my wife had the carnitas platter. Both were superb. The wait staff was friendly and efficient and the ambiance was typical Mexican Restaurant style. We loved it and won't wait such a long time to go back. By the way, my wife loves Sangria's. She had one there and thought it was really good.

Yelp
We usually don't venture to this part of town, but we were in the mood for margaritas and chips and drove by this place and decided to give it a try. Happy hour is every day 3 to 6 PM. We each got a skinny margarita for six dollars each. It was OK. Chips, salsa and beans are complementary. We tried the chili queso which was absolutely delicious. The prices were very reasonable, and we enjoyed ourselves.

Steven W.

Yelp
Imagine our surprise when we went to Coyotes for dinner & found it closed. A handwritten note taped to the door states: "Permant Closed." So sad. :). We hate to see it shut down.

Stewart R.

Yelp
5/5 stars I had an amazing dining experience here! The service was top-notch, and the food was incredibly delicious. The tacos were flavorful and fresh, and the refried beans were creamy and rich. But the real standout was the soup - it was absolutely wonderful. I'm so impressed with the quality of food and service here. I'll definitely be back!"

Dale M.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, really good food, reasonable prices, and most of all a clean restaurant. Fernando was our server. He got our order right the first time. He also had a great personality. Overall, it was a great experience.

Toby S.

Yelp
Going to give it 5 stars because it was a neighborhood place for years. Familiar staff stayed for years. The ambience inside with the wood carvings and wooden beams always made it a cozy place. I feel like the food went downhill and the prices climbed significantly when it went under new ownership. I noticed less patrons. Nevertheless, it's sad to see this place close. I hope a New Mexican restaurant moves in and keeps most of the inner decor. Not a lot of places in vegas with this look.

Tara P.

Yelp
I used to love this place. The staff, food and atmosphere was amazing. Unfortunately they closed a few weeks ago. I will miss them.

Tyler R.

Yelp
Average, that is the best way I can describe Coyote's Cafe & Cantina. I had very high hopes and needed somewhere to captivated my cravings. Unfortunately I left feeling a little empty. Ambiance- the restaurant itself is nice! I sat at the bar and was able to watch hockey and enjoy an ice cold beer. Food- This is where the average portion takes place. I ordered the arroz con polo. As you can see by the photo it doesn't look like the average arroz con pollo. The chicken and the rice was good. Could've used some more sauce. The part where it takes a dive is the vegetables, it felt like I was eaten a steamed frozen bag of vegetables. Not really what I have in mind alongside my chicken and rice. Quite mushy. Service- Service was great while sitting at the bar. Bar tenders were very friendly and helpful. Price- Quite high for what you get. 26.99 or so for most dishes. Be aware. Bottom Line- Go during happy hour as you get cheaper appetizers and 3 dollar beers. Chips, salsa, and bean dip were great. If I go back I will get something different and adjust this review accordingly.

Michael H.

Yelp
Wow! What has happened to this place? Place was empty, ordered bottled beer which took at least 15 mins. Then ordered food which came in a timely fashion but was ice cold! Seriously, the bottom of the plate was cold and the cheese in the enchilada was solid. When it came time to pay the tab, nobody in sight, had to walk around the restaurant to find someone and found them chatting with each other. And let's not forget the prices, $50 bucks for a two item combo, cheese quesadilla, and one Corona light! From now on it's Casa Don Juan for us.

Linda R.

Yelp
I'd like to change my review. I always loved this restaurant until the recently past 2 owners destroyed it. It's now under new ownership & management by long term employees who know what theirs customers want!!! . We gave it another chance and it's like the original Cayotes. FANTASTIC!!! Great Happy Hour margaritas & food!!!!! So please give it a try! You won't be disappointed. Just say NO!!! The food is expensive and marginally good. The drinks are mostly ice. There are many good options in the area with better food, drinks. Sorry to say this place has really gone downhill.

Brandon S.

Yelp
Came for a work lunch. Took forever to get, food burned/dry. Manager wasn't paying attention to anything leaving the kitchen. Coworker had a large paper wrapper in her salad. Steak fajitas were burned, had no real taste. Enchilada sauce from a can. AVOID

Kat K.

Yelp
Last minutes decision to have a late lunch, early dinner. Happy hour is 3-6pm. We had guacamole and Poppers for appetizers! Both very good. We had a taco salad with ground beef, (sliced egg on this was a big NO for me) And a shredded Beef Relleno! The seasoning on the tender meats were exceptionally good. Salad was mostly the good stuff, small amount of lettuce and crispy shell. Waiter was very friendly, great service! Recommend!

Mary B.

Yelp
I ate here on a recommendation. So glad I did! They have the freshest Mexican food I have eaten in a long time! Do yourself a favor and check them out! The food is outstanding.Clean, great service. Fair price . I am going back soon. I don't drink alcohol but, they have a wide variety of tequila and margaritas .

Yelp
Sadly, last night will be our last night dining at Coyotes. This place has been a favorite of ours since they first opened over 40 years ago. The food the last couple of times we've dined in has been on the decline. Our favorite dishes don't even taste like they use too. The service was good but the high prices and poor quality of the food means we're saying adios to Coyote's, we won't be back.

Ruth H.

Yelp
What a HUGE disappointment. We had great experiences here in the past. We hadn't been here for quite a while but it is highly unlikely we will return. We drove up on a Sunday night and were surprised to see the parking lot so empty. Main dining room was already closed at 7:30 and we were seated in the bar and seemingly forgotten. Order finally placed. Another seemingly long wait for basic combination plates to be dropped at our table. Food was cold. Bottom of the plate literally cold. No one checked on us at any time during our meal. Our bill was quickly placed on our table as our plates were whisked away. No one returned to our table nor was in sight to take our payment. The QR code to pay did not work. I followed the sound of voices as I walked to the back of the establishment with our tab and credit card in hand. I found our server and another employee doing side work in a non public area. We couldn't get out of there fast enough. With this recent experience it is unlikely we will ever return. There are so many better options in the area.

Mike Y.

Yelp
What A Comeback! The food tasted great. The plate presentation was nice. The beans & rice tasted authentic and delicious!! The Chili Verde is a Must! The portions were fair and the margaritas were fantastic! Table service was kind, professional & prompt! The bartenders were friendly & helpful with happy hour menu items. A pleasant easy going happy hour. The Cantina area felt authentic with hispanic music playing throughout the fine establishment and the decor throughout the restaurant really sets the ambiance at a high level! Great date place, meetings, friendly gatherings and celebration place. Can't Wait to Go Back!!

Karen R.

Yelp
We had an excellent experience!! Food was amazing!! The best customer service!! Francisco is the best!! A very clean and nice place to eat!! Prices are reasonable!! Happy hours margaritas are awesome!! We will definitely come back for more

Sandra G.

Yelp
This is our go to for combination fajitas for two. Absolutely delicious. Always seated immediately and food comes out fast and perfect. Service is excellent. Yes it's an older building with dated interior but it's nice and very clean. Everything is perfect each visit.

Malise S.

Yelp
Consistently good food. Staff is very attentive and a comfortable environment. One of our go to restaurants

Emily S.

Yelp
The service here is wonderful and the waiters we had were so kind, polite and just made my experience wonderful. The food was absolutely delicious and very light, good portions and I would recommend anything from the menu here. I felt comfy, welcomed and the ambiance is traditional Mexican decor and it's just beautiful.

Angelica M.

Yelp
First time trying this place and I can't say I had a great review and wanting to go back. The service was great. We were immediately greeted at the door, immediately seated, and the servers were very attentive to our needs and constantly checked on us. We ordered the queso for the appetizer and My husband ordered the fajitas while I ordered the green saucechicken enchiladas and a soft carne asada taco. The queso was just okay but if I had to describe it I would say it had more of an Italian taste than it did Mexican. My husband says the seasoning on the fajitas was amazing. The chicken and shrimp were cooked perfect but he didn't care for the steak. He said it was a little tough and recommended a different type steak be used. Now, if you enjoy frozen Mexican meals then their enchiladas is the dish for you. Unfortunately the sauce tasted like it was right out the can - no authenticity whatsoever. The tortillas tasted like the they came right out of the Walmart bag and rolled and drizzled with the sauce. Tortillas are supposed to be softened or seared prior to rolling whether it be in their own sauce or seared in oil so they're easy to roll. Not this. In fact when I picked up my taco it immediately broke in half because the tortilla wasn't cooked properly. I give the food 2 stars and the service 4.5 but will definitely not be back with mediocre food at high prices like that. My strongest recommendation would be Lindo Michoacan.

L. L. W.

Yelp
I have to agree with another person's review, I wouldn't even serve the food to a coyote. Two thumbs down.

David R.

Yelp
Legit authentic Mexican food local spot highly recommend this place wife child hood spot and we feel nothing change every time say quality food and everything there the same great friendly family spot

Claire C.

Yelp
Absolute treasure. Coyotes has a new owner who is dedicated to continuing Coyotes legacy. It's a great off strip choice for delicious Mexican food and a good happy hour (3-6). The games will hopefully be back in a few months after new owner gets the license. Either way the prices are great, food is amazing, and service is fantastic. Most staff have been there 20+ years which speaks for itself. The place is a locals place but even if on vacation it's worth a trip.

Chris J.

Yelp
Can't say enough about the food and friendly crew at this place. Any of the fajitas or burritos are among the best fresh made you'll have. Order a margarita and enjoy bottomless chips, beans, and salsa. All the staff are friendly and helpful.

Stefanie R.

Yelp
We went in here tonight for dinner before our movie at Galaxy theaters. It was great! They had incredibly affordable happy hour specials and the food was delicious! We eat a lot of Mexican food, too, and this was top-notch! Our drinks were never empty and we had several servers come by and check on us multiple times. The place was very clean and there were live sports on every big TV in the place. We would highly recommend this little gem and will be returning.

Adam G.

Yelp
Coyotes? I think they're named that because only a starving coyote would eat here. First, we used to come here all the time. Something seems to have completely changed since we were here last. It's like they have a new manager or something! Second, the service was terribly slow. We waited over 5 minutes for first contact with our server. I had to shave again by the time we could finally leave! Third, the server couldn't take an order to save his life. How many times does one have to repeatedly make specific requests to have them honored? Fourth, what changed with the margaritas? Are they supposed to taste like horse crap now? They used to have the best margaritas in town, but this one tasted horrible and was completely watered down. Fifth, I really like their new air fresheners... what scent do they have now? Midwestern gas station or Arby's bathroom? Either way, it was great! NOT! Anyways, considering how bad it is, I think even famished coyotes would rather starve than eat at Coyotes.

Steven O.

Yelp
Been looking for some really good sit down, dine in Mexican Food! Coyote Cafe passes the bill! Food was pretty good. Service was very good. Drinks were good. Menu is as you would expect, combos, Fajitas,Margaritas. We enjoyed the meal and the Chicken Stuffed Chili Rellano was great!

S R.

Yelp
Having been trying out different Mexican restaurants. We will be coming back again! Very tasty salsa. I had the shrimp tacos. Plenty of shrimp, only con would be corn tortillas instead of flour. I had a side salad instead of the beans/rice. Very large serving of salad with black olives and cucumbers added. My hubby had a beef burrito. Man, it was overflowing with meat. The meat was well seasoned and very tender. He ended up taking half of the burrito home. The wait staff was very attentive and friendly. Our waiter told us this was more of a Tex-Mex style. That doesn't bother me. It was very tasty. We will be back.

Nora E.

Yelp
This used to be our favorite Mexican food restaurant. The service has always been very good. The problem is the prices have gone way up and the portions have gone down. And the taste to not as good.

Mark A.

Yelp
The best Mexican restaurant in Henderson! Everything about this place is simply amazing. I'm not sure why people give it such low ratings. The service is phenomenal and the food comes out pretty quick. Our drinks were always refilled and the servers were attentive. I honestly think this place deserves 5 stars. From the outside it may seem like an ordinary restaurant but this place is a portal to a highly themed and highly detailed Mexican restaurant. This place feels like rancho del zocalo at Disneyland and Tortilla Jo's at downtown Disney. The decor in this place felt so timeless and rememberable. Definitely worth checking out just for the ambiance as most newer places nowadays are just generic modern looking. As we were seated we realized they had lunch specials! As many thought that the food was pricey, just come around 11-4pm and you can get discounted items from the lunch menu. Anyways, we ordered the cheese enchiladas and the taquitos. Complimentary chips w/ salsa and bean dip - This really tasted good. The chips were fresh, hot, and well seasoned. The bean dip had a great taste not too salty and the salsa was great. 9/10 Enchilada - so much cheese and yes you could do cheese pulls all day with this dish. The enchilada sauce was good not too spicy. Cheese was perfectly melted. 9/10 Chicken Taquitos - super crispy and chicken was not dry and cooked perfectly. Was great with the sour cream and guacamole. The rice was pretty good and the refried beans were again well seasoned with the melted cheese on top. 10/10 Overall, this place deserves way more than negative yelp reviews. This is a local made from scratch restaurant that cooks great classic Mexican cuisine. Definitely a place that shouldn't be talked bad about. The service was great, food was great, price was reasonable in times of inflation. If you're looking for your next lunch/brunch spot this is the place to be.

Bridget C.

Yelp
It was ok. Honestly, it's probably more that I didn't realize it was New Mexican Mexican food. I prefer Tex-Mex style. The rice was bland. The salsa was basic tomato and onions. Service was a bit slow. I did like the enchilada sauce I had (carne asada enchiladas). I would definitely have it again and recommend it if you come here.

Maui_Girl C.

Yelp
We love this place. Food is delicious and yummy. Friendly staff and excellent services at all times. Place is clean and organized. That's the reason why we keep coming back to this place. We celebrated 2 birthdays here also. Thank you so much for your kindness and superb hospitality. Delicious food as well. See you soon Coyotes

Dustin E.

Yelp
HOLY COW! Coyote's is AMAZING!!! We just went there for the first time. I can't believe we've never been before. They've been here forever! Right next door to Todd's Unique, which we've been to several times. The servers here are top-notch! Very fast and attentive. They are on the ball! The bean dip, chips and salsa are excellent. We ordered the chili con queso, which was quite a bit different than anywhere else. We really didn't enjoy it. I was worried. But then our entrées came and they were INCREDIBLE!! I had a cheese enchilada, ground beef taco, and shredded beef enchilada. I took the rest home for another full meal. My wife had a cheese enchilada and a shredded beef tamale. She loved them! She had TWO more meals at home. It's a little pricey, as some have mentioned, but the portions are enormous and you get several meals for the price. We'll be back for sure!

K O.

Yelp
Quick service and very good food. Had outstanding customer service by our waiter. Will go back and enjoy other options on food. Had steak fajitas!!!

Kiana M.

Yelp
This place isn't good in any aspect. Their prices are outrageous, food is low quality, service is absolutely horrible and overall quality is below 1 star. We were sat in the kids corner basically with children talking the entire time. Everyone who sat after us, with even larger parties than us, got their food first. Took about 20 minutes to receive our waters and an order of ours was incorrect. The check showed an extra charge that was a substitute and our waiter never rechecked on us or refilled our drinks. There was about 3 tables with people in them so it wasn't busy. Honestly, any other Mexican restaurant will be better than this.

Christopher S.

Yelp
We decided to try Coyotes Cafe and we were pleasantly surprised my wife and I shared a Combination Fajita and it was absolutely delicious and made with very fresh ingredients. I also loved that they serve Bean dip with their Salsa and chips it was very yummy. Our waiter was very nice and attentive and my wife and I loved how cozy the restaurant was it gave the feeling of being in Mexico. We will definitely return to this restaurant.

Michael S.

Yelp
Coyotes has been around for decades! This was my first experience in probably 15 years! Perhaps the first time since Yelp has ever been in existence! It's not the mariachi band type of Americanized Mexican restaurant. I'm not saying it's authentically Mexican either. The food is extremely good however! I had the carnitas platter which was seasoned so well, and the meat was extremely tender and generous in portion size! The homemade tortillas were an added bonus! The chips and salsa were fantastic, and I love the fact that it's one of a dying breed in that they still offer free bean dip when you are seated! It's been quite awhile since I stepped in this place, but I certainly won't be a stranger to Coyotes from here on out!

Sandi R.

Yelp
I wrote my review above and it was quite lengthy covering food, ambiance and service.

Judy K.

Yelp
Coyote's has been our go-to Mexican restaurant for years. The food is good - (I usually get a combination plate with cheese enchilada, chili relleno or chicken taco). The chips are great, as is the bean dip and salsa, and they have the best margaritas. The staff is always friendly and efficient.

Berdett B.

Yelp
Food is excellent and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is more southwest inspired, floors and tables are always clean. Wait staff is good, sometimes a little slow getting to your table after seated but always pleasant. You always get seated quickly, I have never waited to be seated. Overall I highly recommend this place!

Debbie G.

Yelp
I was calling around the area looking for a reservation and found this restaurant that had availability. It was a short drive from Green Valley and I was able to walk-in, get seated and receive chips with salsa and bean dip quickly. I ordered the combination fajitas with chicken, beef and shrimp. It was a great serving size and really delicious!! The beans and rice it came with were a little bland for my tastes. I asked for some extra bean dip on the side to take home and that was perfect. Service was very friendly and I really enjoyed my meal. The fried ice cream was huge and I took some of that home as well. I would definitely stop in again when I'm hungry for Mexican food on the weekend!

Jaren W.

Yelp
I have visited Vegas many times and are at many restaurants. Coyotes Cafe Is in my Top 3!!! And I have only been twice! Yesterday and today. Today was even more special because it was my mothers first time in Vegas, NV and her first meal in Vegas! . . It's perfect because my mother has been studying Spanish for 1 year. And Francisco did great with being patient with her and and holding their conversation in Spanish! Great restaurant. Tip split a meal to avoid leftovers. Or plan to have leftovers!!!!

Chef T.

Yelp
Yesterday I went to dinner and ordered two beers a side of guacamole and asked for two tacos carne asada. The menu didn't display any à la carte menu items. So I ordered the four tacos for my guest and I and was charged $11 per taco! What a rip off you would think I was on the Las Vegas strip at those prices! The waitress should have explained what the a la carte price was! The tacos were mediocre at best the service was okay and I could see why they weren't that busy! I would pass on this place again and take my money where it's better served!

Laura S.

Yelp
This restaurant has been around for years I had visited this establishment around 15 years ago or more...... anyways had good memories of the food being halfway descent To bad I could not get over the outlandish prices my goodness absolutely absurd So I give the 2 stars one for bean dip and salsa and the service was descent 8$ for one basket of chips and a 1/4 cup of beans and salsa I promise I won't be back if I'm going to pay for expensive food I have to see the value. Not even close

Walter H.

Yelp
I've been coming here occasionally for years, but there is a lot of other Mexican choices in the area. The menu here is about what you might expect at most Mexican restaurants. The bar area is separate from the regular dining area. There are booths as well as tables. Once seated, the servers bring chips, salsa and bean dip. The servers are attentive and kept our chips coming as needed throughout lunch. The food came out hot. For my personal taste, they don't have anything that stands out as a must have dish. While their service is consistently good, the food is just average, and nothing really special. The lunch menu prices seem higher than most of their competitors. If you're in the area it's not a bad place to eat.

Lianne B.

Yelp
The beef and chicken fajitas was really good. Also the service, very friendly so as the chefs. We'll come back for sure

Brooke R.

Yelp
PSA...! Smelled like a sketchy gas station bathroom soon as u open the door, drove 15 mins to come eat here and left soon as I walked in. I couldn't even smell food, just straight DIRTY TOILET - I'm not even a picky person but, NO THANKS can't eat my food on a gas station toilet

Dee D.

Yelp
Walked in, thought this was authentic Mexican restaurant. Ordered steak tacos combo and cheese enchilada. Margaritas was good. The taco was good as well. The rice and beans were overcooked and tasteless. I thought we paid far too much for our meal. I'll continue to search for the best Mexican restaurant.
