The tacos are pretty good for the price. So I decided to switch it up and get the Gordita. I have to say it was not good. Mostly due to the tortilla. Probably should just remove from menu.

This place was absolutely disgusting. I am so saddened by this because they don’t charge cheap prices. The meat was 75% gristle and chewy we had to spit out most of it. It was completely terrifying the way these places charge top dollar and get the cheapest of cheapest meat and then mix it with gristle to make it even more meat. I’m so disappointed don’t get here

Loved it there. They stay open late! Had the a asada plate. 🤌🤌will definitely go back when im in the city.

I ordered a birria burrito, and I got carne asada. Still delicious, however. Would I come back? Maybe not, but i would like to try the birria. The horchata was also quite good. Very creamy, not too sweet, not overpowering with cinnamon.

My first experience eating at the Coyotes Restaurant great food, good company, and cool vibes. I highly recommend for you to try any of their food options and beverages. It was late at night despite the hour this place was jam packed with hungry people, however despite the chaos the staff was able to take care of us. The shrimp tacos were delicious and filling, I was full eating the one taco. The rice was fresh and the horchata was so refreshing. It was perfect beverage to quench my thirst after a fun night at the House of Blues. There’s beautiful artwork displayed all around the restaurant, you won’t get bored while you wait for your food. The food was meh. I have had better tacos elsewhere. It wasn’t very authentic. The rice was very bland and the beans were not great. Had the steak tacos the chorizo was inedible. But it was open late when we needed it.

Best Burritos in Chicago. Amazing customer service. Today I called, and I think ( Maribel ) answered. super kind and very accommodating. I've been coming here for two years and i can honestly say they are my favorite burrito. The price, taste, and seasoning are on point. I havent tried other itmes on the menu but i've ordered the burrito like 15-20 times already. glad ya'll are in pilsen.

I’ve come here a few times but mostly order on UberEats. I love their horchata & tacos, especially their lengua. However they tend to miss order notes a lot. It just really sucks when you pay for something extra, wait for it to come and it’s not how it’s supposed to be. I recommend going in person and double checking before leaving.

We stumbled upon Coyotes when we were looking for tacos at 2 a.m. Lengua, tripa, asada. Just SO simple and good. We came back the next night. If only I lived here!

This is one of my favorite hole in the wall spots and Pilsen. If you're looking for fast and affordable Mexican fair, this is the place. When reviewing business businesses like this, you have to review it for what it is. It's not a fancy place to sit down, it's a place to get decent Mexican food almost at anytime/day or night. I've always had good service here both in the restaurant and with delivery .

Food was delicious fresh and just how I asked it to be made ..I ordered 3 steak tacos cilantro and onion shell well done and I appreciated the authentic flavor

The Green Room Tap recommended Coyote over some of the closer food options, so we took a walk. Small diner type setup, prompt friendly service. The prices on the menu were the first thing that stood out, more expensive than I was expecting. The food quality is the same as most mexican restaurants like this, nothing fancy, basic issue. The quality of the chips and salsa are usually a preview of the food to come.

Came by at 4AM after a show for a quick bite. Free chips and salsa were good . I got a Asada Gordita with a Jarritos - The steak was juicy and fresh, and it came with raw onions/cilantro. The pocket of masa holding everything together was okay. For the price, the portion was fair and the food was decent. I'd come back when looking for a chill late night spot for a snack.

Ordered the 3 taco dinner place and was so so yum. the tortillas taste like my abuela made them and it's honestly the perfect fast and cheap mexican food perfect place to just chill talk and eat with friends or family

For being open till 4:30, gave me Mexican Waffle House vibes. Was busy at 2-3am and our party of 8 got seated immediately. Most of us got tacos and while in the pricey side for 4.50 each they were pretty good. Came with chips and serve salsa was spicy.

Can we taco bout how much I can't wait to come back here LOL Late night taco spot with solid service and solid eats! Staff was all very friendly and everything is made fresh! I love that we can sit right by the grill and watch all the magic happen! Sure the awkward eye contact with the cooks can be strange but it's also oh so fun! Stopped by after a late night DJ set at a club and we were mildly hungry. I had the carne asada steak taco, Al pastor, and the lengua. They did NOT skimp on the meat and flavor. My friend got a tostada with nopales and steak and it was MASSIVE! My other friend got the carne en su jugo soup and it was what dreams are made of! Fried onions and fried bacon thats then grilled with steak then put into a big o bowl with broth and avocado!!! Rich and heavenly...absolute comfort in a bowl! Definitely can't wait to go back!

Food is not good. It's good to have a late-night option, sure, but come on! If you are desperate, it is edible. If you like authentic Mexican food, avoid at all costs.

The waitress was nice and friendly, the service was pretty quick and the food was good. My order came out fresh and hot (steak taco dinner).

I give it one star for opening late. I give it five stars for service. If your black do not go into this place. Reasons being they will serve you food that might hurt you. STAY A WAY IF YOU CAN NOT SEE THE GRILL DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING. ANYWHERE. You Have Been Warned

Ordered through Grubhub late night, it was around 2:50am, didn't get my order until 4:10am. The food obviously arrived cold. My order consisted of a burrito and a torta, both steak. Tried taking a bite the torta, and it was a massive blob of FAT/never endings/tendon. Found multiple huge chunks of unible pieces of "meat" the quality is beyond poor. Will probably never eat from here again. If i do, I'll stick to the chicken.

Small restaurant that's good for late night food. The barbocoa and chile relleno tacos were good. Salsa was not bad, but chips are not fresh.

You want good tacos you go to Pilsen! I've been to a half dozen places here but I really like Coyotes! The carne asada and pollo is perfectly cooked! Standard cilantro and onion perfection. Great service and full belly. They also have the Senorial Sangria I like that not everybody has. Reminds me of eating tacos as a kid at my old friend's family restaurant. I lived in LA 11 years and you can't get much better than that unless you're headed to Mexico. Glad we have Pilsen in Chicago to enjoy some carne asada tacos for days! Gracias

This place is so so solid for authentic Mexican cuisine. It took a while to get seated, but that's because this is one of the few late night spots open. There's nothing better than some good Mexican food after a night out & the people know this! Once we got seated, the service was very quick. We probably got our food about 10 minutes after we placed our orders. The horchata and tortas here are out of this world! The rice and beans were also excellent. Please do yourself a favor and check this place out if you are in the Pilsen area.

Best tacos. Fresh tortillas. Great horchata. Open 24hrs. Salsa and chips come with every meal when you dine in.

I went a couple months back as a birthday gift to myself, this was one of the first places I tried and I loved it. I sat by the window and the view was beautiful and the food was so good and I really appreciated the service, I hope to visit again soon!

Typical Mexican restaurant vibes. I'm a BIG fan of the tripe/tripas here. Love ordering the Combinacion Coyote to get a dinner variety (sope, tostada and taco with your choice of meat) with rice and beans! VALUE. Chips were a little stale (but it was free chips and salsa so can't complain really!) and you have to ask for water. You pay at the front counter when you're done!

A great late night place for when everything else is closed. However the prices always remind me why I don't go there that often. I feel like I can have similar/better quality tacos elsewhere for the same price. I go because they are open late. I also don't like how small the print is on the menu where it tells you that tips are already included for parties of 4+. The first few times I went, I missed this. Which I'm happy for the waiters, but I spent a lot of money. I don't mind the policy, I just wish it was more noticeable so I would know I was already being charged the tip on an already big check. The ambiance is okay. During the day it's usually pretty chill but on weekend nights it can get pretty packed. Very much a place you go when everywhere else is closed but at least the food is good :)

Love this place and it's quite popular in the evenings since they're open late! The tacos never disappoint and the salas are spicy but not too too spicy (this might be a pro or con depending on you haha). My friend got the seafood tomato soup and it was really good so would recommend getting esp on a cold day!

Great restaurant, very small but manages to fit about 40-50 people. Ordered 4 tacos and a torta to go and it only took about 10 minutes for the food to be done by the time I got there I paid and was on my way! The staff is very friendly and speak both English and Spanish! Food was great and the horchata was awesome! One of the only places I've been able to walk into at 3am and get some great Mexican food! Will definitely be back!

Yes I been here about 5 times since the summer. It's pretty good, especially late nights. I had the steak tacos, the beef tongue tacos and I had the guacamole. The lady that rang me up was nice and atmosphere is nice. It is kind of pricey.

Delivery Review! I have heard good things about Coyotes over the years and have had it bookmarked for quite some time. When Cinco de Mayo rolled around while we were quarantined, I knew I wanted to support an authentic Mexican eatery and I thought of Coyotes. I checked out the menu and knew instantly I was gonna go with the carne asada taco dinner which came with rice & beans. I knew I wanted the enchiladas verdes with chicken as well. The taco dinner was awesome as the meat was seasoned to perfection...it didn't stand a chance against my hunger lol! I was gonna save the enchiladas for lunch the next day, but I wound up maxing half of it after the taco dinner went down. Very good and still good when heated up the next day. The delivery didnt take long at all due to them not being to far from my location, but the anticipation of the delivery was too much to take as I knew this would be a delicious meal! I plan to make it over in person sometime when this current situation mellows out.

I first heard about this restaurant from a friend who loves Mexican food and I am blown away! The tacos were very delicious and nicely seasoned. I got the taco dinner with three different types of meat - steak, chorizo and beef tongue. Cheese fries is always a staple for me and their classic take on such a simple dish completes the dinner for me. I will definitely come back again to try everything else on the menu with a side of cheese fries

One of many Mexican restaurants, and while it may not be the best (that's up to everyone's own opinions) at least Coyotes serves the role as the open late, no frills option, but still good quality. I've gotten several items here over the past year. Tacos, burrito, chilaquiles verdes, taco salad, I've been satisfied with them all. I usually order to go, their dining room isn't huge, but if you want to dine in it's BYOB and good chips salsa. I think of it as my ole reliable place, especially if it's late. I'm sure I'll keep coming back many times in the future.

Used to enjoy coming here a lot. It's been about a year since I've returned and was utterly disappointed.

Where is the onion? that's lettuce? Tomatoes are supposed to go across the torta.. cilantro? Beans? Sour cream? Try it and then make yourself a real one .... guess it's better to eat in. That way you know what you're paying for.. it's just nice that it's open late honestly

The food was cold. The steak wasn't cleaned properly. Mostly fat chunks and slime. Didn't even finish half my burrito. (I have a pick of it in the trash) beans were cold. I am never eating from here. And definitely not order it off Uber eats. You'll get half your meal. Never eat here. Rats all next to he building. Disgusting!!

Bomb ass fish tacos! The fish has a nice crispy outside. The horchata is good. Also tried to gordita de rajas con queso I thought the gordita was a lil oily but the filling was good.

Coyotes was usually my go to spot but after tonight I'm never coming back. Just ordered takeout for the family. Chorizo Nachos, taco salad, and a steak taco dinner. I was eating the nachos and bit into something hard and it looked like a small piece of rock. I figured it was a bone or something, I'm not one to abandon hope. so I grabbed another nacho piece and again took a bite and I found another even bigger piece of rock. I called them and they're telling me it was probably a piece of bone and to go back to show them. I was pissed and went back to the restaurant and the girl up front was absolutely indifferent to the situation, she probably thinks I made this up for a free meal. She asked if I wanted the meal exchanged or a refund. Lol, seriously? I took the refund. Beware of the shitty service and rocks in your food. Fuck this place

I like fish tacos, and these hit the spot! They have a nice variety of items on their menu so this is a great place to go with a group. There's something for everyone including breakfast, natural juice, sangria and more! I originally tried them through takeout but the dining experience is nice for a date too. The inside is neatly decorated but not too stuffy for a first or second meeting. Enjoy!

One of our favorite late night spots. We usually get the torta de milanesa de pollo with avocado and chilaquiles verdes with 2 sides of beans no rice. The rice is not our favorite, but the beans are tasty. Chilaquiles come with two eggs your style. Both, the red and green sauce are very well seasoned. Gorditas are not our favorite, they're very well stuffed but tortilla was hard and not chewable. Love the fact their open late. Uber order always gets to us while it's still hot.

I used to live right across the street from this place and the best part was it was open super late and had amazing food at all hours! However since COVID hit, they close much earlier and worse yet their quality has gone down both in the food and service. Tbh I used to recommend coming down to this place when friends ask for a good taco place but now I feel ashamed to rec this unless there was no where else open and it's like 2am. 1) Food- I recently got the steak and al pastor tacos - but the tortillas were very dry and the al pastor lacked flavor. Usually I can tell if it's a good taco by the oil from the tortilla and from the color of the meat. As evident in this photo, the steak was dry and a bit over cooked and the al pastor lacked the nice rich spicy taste. 2) Service - it was ok , we did have to waive down another server to help give us napkins and limes. Otherwise the biggest issue was that it took a long time to get the food almost 25 min wait and once it came out, it wasn't as hot and delicious as I would expect. Overall it's sad to see the quality and service has gone down over the years but I hope the management makes some changes and I'll def be back to try it then!

Just left the restaurant with a pick up order for a steak quesadilla and opened it to this bs. Not the first time this happen. Loved their food usually just check your food before you leave they sometimes get lazy and do shit like this. The tostada I order was good so not all bad.

Came in for late night drunchies. I will preface. This place imo is not the best in general as other Yelpers have mentioned. However*, try finding a place that opens until 5 am. The line is still relatively long late at nice, but you will not regret. When you find yourself doing who knows what at this time, this place is your happy place. Food (7/10): Again, there are other places that people may compare this to, but not at 3 am. That's the niche of this place. Late night food. I ordered a carne asada burrito, the meat was frontloaded on one end and salty, but still hit the spot. The soups especially if you take the leftovers home, are the dark horse pick here. The carne en su jugo and caldo de Cameron are salty but filled with a variety of ingredients. Awesome to pair with tortillas or even rice imo. They give you 2-3 sauces. There is no sauce bar and you'll pay ~30 cents for more sauce cups. Value (7.5/10): Relatively good value. A burrito is about $8. Doesn't get much cheaper than that. If you want value. Get the soups. About same price as a platter but has way better mileage. Service/ambience (6/10): Filled with hungry young adults coming in after night festivities. You wait in line, order, grab a seat, and eat. Mission complete.

Meh, heard so many good things about this place and once I actually came in to dine I found nothing special. There's nothing done differently, they don't have a smacking salsa. Plus once I got up to pay my bill I saw the grill they cook on and it was beyond filthy! Staff was friendly though.

It was just okay. So many other great places close by so I was disappointed. Also no margaritas the food was decent. I don't need to go back though.

As a person who tolerates cilantro but doesn't really like it (it tastes like soap) I wish I'd known just how much cilantro they put in their quesadillas, because I would have asked them to go much, much easier on it. I always expect some cilantro on Mexican food but I had to pick out so much I could whip up a whole batch of cilantro lime sauce with it. But the cheese and beans were both good and the quesadilla was nice and crispy.

Coyotes is my favorite 24hr restaurant in chicago, it's ALWAYS consistently good no matter if I arrive at 3am or 3pm. I don't eat beef or pork so I always order the chicken & shrimp fajitas. It comes with a Nice amount of veggies which I love and hella flavor. The chicken Gordita is my 2nd favorite meal here. It's BYOB so my bf & I love it for late night after any date night.

I've only had the al pastor tacos and steak burritos. I really like the al pastor but truly did not enjoy the steak. The steak seemed to be a low grade of quality and did not have good flavor. The pastor was awesome though. I look forward to trying the fish tacos. They have never messed up my Uber eats order, kudos for that!

We def been on a Coyotes kick lately, after taking like 5 plus years to finally try them. It took El Milagro having a ridiculous line one afternoon to finally give them a go. I'll admit I judged a book by its cover and falsely labeled them a place where drunk people appease their late night munchies, to which standards take a backseat and questionable food is consumed. But Coyotes ain't that. How do I know? I've only eaten from here sober (so far) and it's hella good. I've yet to be disappointed by anything I've had. Tacos, burritos, gorditas and sopes? All fire. Even the gfs taco salad was tasty. One of the more eye-catching items on the menu is their "torta Cubana". This sandwich is a whole f**kin' mood. It's got like 5 meats along with the usual torta fixings (except it contains mayo in lieu of sour cream). It's not something I could order every time. It's honestly better served as a drunk/hangover sandwich. Really good food, affordable, friendly service, and never too busy. I'm here for it.
