Cozy Corner on Harlem Avenue is a great spot for a laid-back lunch. I had the turkey sandwich—tender turkey on fresh bread with crisp lettuce and tomato—plus a side of mixed fruit that was light and refreshing. My partner’s Cuban sandwich was perfectly pressed, with melty cheese, roast pork, ham, pickles, and mustard, alongside a creamy broccoli soup that hit the spot. Friendly service and fair prices make this place a winner.

Love this place for breakfast! They open up at 6AM for those who are up early, and also have an early bird special (excluding weekends and holidays) which is definitely WORTH it. Always frequent here, staff is friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend their meat lovers skillet! The portions here are big so you will definitely get filled up as most breakfast options come with the option of toast or pancakes on the side as well. Affordable prices! Definitely recommend. (Pictures are from several different visits.)

Google
Cozy Corner Restaurant & Pancake House 16 Feb 2025 A great spot for breakfast with a wide variety of options and an inviting ambience that sets a warm, welcoming tone. We started with a coffee, then tried the Stuffed Cheesecake French Toast, the House Special 2x2 Special, and the 2 Eggs and Sausage with pancakes. The service was friendly and attentive, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Everything was tasty and delicious—perfect for breakfast!

Google

First time in Chicago, this was the perfect brunch restaurant. Service was amazing and I 100% recommend the sweet heat breakfast sandwich. It was delicious.

Google
My family has lived around the corner and I didn’t know about this hidden gem. I went for breakfast when visiting town and everything was great. We tried the blueberry cheesecake and cinnamon French toast and they were phenomenal. Staff was super nice and attentive. I forgot our servers name but I’m glad I went with one of his recommendations. I’ll definitely be back

Google
1st time to try this place and we’ll definitely keep on coming back! We were seated quickly even if the place was packed on a Saturday morning. Our server Sophia is the best, she knew we were cold because of their air-condition (being on), so we were so glad she turned it off. We ordered, Avocado toast, combination omelet and two eggs and bacon and was amazed how quick it was served to us. My only complain is they forgot to put the green peppers in my omelet (which was my favorite), but it’s okay. Oh and the hash browns were a bit overcooked. Everything tasted delicious though and the fruits were fresh! So Cozy is one of our favorite breakfast place in Chicago now.

Google
Clean and comfortable with excellent, attentive service, I was more than pleased with my first visit to the Cozy Corner. I realize that this is a local chain in Chicago which is normally a turn off for me but not here. My experience was A++!! Stopped in for breakfast around 7am, I was quickly helped and seated. Bring a party of one, I sat at the bar. Menus and water were presented immediately after being seated. Alex, my server took good care of me throughout my meal. They have early bird specials along with all day specials and an extensive menu for more than just breakfast. I ordered the 2x2 early special for $7.99. Two perfectly cooked, hot pancakes, two over hard eggs, and two nice slices of tasty ham. I was stuffed after this tasty and hot meal. To say it hit the spot is an understatement. I’m picky, but my experience here was flawless. But don’t take my word for it, please go try it yourself.

Yelp
We stayed in Chicago overnight after a vacation and on our way home this morning, found this wonderful little gem! We split the biscuits and gravy meal. Everything tasted fresh, yummy and perfectly prepared. I wanted to ask for the recipe!! If I lived here, I'd be a frequent customer. Everyone was friendly and seemed to enjoy their job.

Yelp
I always feel at home in this restaurant. The people are wonderful. The food and ambiance are super. Specials and affordable prices help too.

Yelp
So delicious ! They had daily breakfast specials, my daughter had 3x4 she loved her French toast. My sister had Lemon pancakes, I had a vegetable omelet. So many vegetables awesome An avocado on top . The ambiance is casual and busy . They keep the tables cleared . The waitstaff are friendly and caring . The young girl was helpful and knew her menu. There is a parking lot for this business. It closes at 3PM I will happily return

Yelp
Overall is more like 3.5 stars. My first time here, seated immediately. Friendly staff. We ordered 2 gigs over easy with bacon and hash browns and toast. One kid ordered plain French toast. Eggs, my son gives it 3.5. Bacon is 4. Hash browns 3. French toast. 4. Ambiance, light music (classic rock), a few customers here. Clean.

Yelp
I'm a little scared when I order chilaquiles, usually they are too dry, but they were pretty good here, the files and rice were delicious. The service was good, it's good to be attentive. The ambiance was ok, no complaints

Yelp
I-Hop is good, but Cozy Corner is even better. It is a big diner, interior is nothing too special. The staff make you feel like you are at home with family, very friendly and hospitable. The breakfast was so good. I loved how my Ghirardelli hot chocolate included free refills. All of the meals were so beautifully presented. The crepes and french toast were my favorite. They overloaded the dish with fruit which is very tasty! They put the right amount of Nutella in each dish! Best place for my sweet tooth!

Yelp
I was back in Chicago for a family member and my mom noticed this place that she has gone to before and liked it enough to want to take me there for some breakfast. it's a spacious space. Definitely looks smaller on the outside and it seems to be a popular spot in this neighborhood. The place has a diner vibe to it and I like it. They seat you and get you something to drink right away. We both ordered the breakfast house special and a coffee for my mom. I had it with bacon, scrambled eggs and french toast my mom had it with hash brown's substitute. The plate cost $10.99. It was a good meal. Nice little diner vibe spot that has ample seating and offers more than breakfast. The place is clean and the bathrooms are nice and clean as well. Staff was friendly.

Yelp
Long time, customer today a waitress felt she can reach across my table where my food is to grab a menu, very rude and in polite needless to say not happy with that service.

Yelp
Wish I could give 0 stars. Really wanted to like this place, the person I dined with suggested lunch here as they had a good experience the prior visit. Ordered the turkey club "meal" (just the sandwiches and fries) for $16.99 - Ouch. Add another $1 for cheese. So $17.99.... We got our clubs which had the thickest bread and lettuce, and barely any turkey and bacon. The sandwiches looked regular size because of the bread and lettuce. I understand times are tough and food is expensive so I get it. I was compelled to write this review because of the cheese that we had to pay extra for was old and hard and discolored around the edges. We ate some before we realized how gross the cheese was. I paid the full bill, and when the manager at the front asked how our meal had been, I told him it was horrible and the worst club sandwich we had ever had. He brushed me off and was overall unconcerned and stated I should not have expected melted cheese on a club sandwich. So $18 a club with decent fries. Food quality was very poor and prices were too high. The indifference of the staff was very insulting. Never going back. Do yourself a favor and head north to the Lucky Grill at Canfield and Talcott for great food!

Yelp
From the moment I walked into the restaurant, I felt the positive, welcoming energy. The host, unfortunately I dont remember her name (young-looking, short, blonde woman) was quick to attend to us and lead us to our table. She welcomed us with a smile and peppy attitude. We had two servers, one including the manager, Angus. I think the other server's name is Carmella. The food was delicious. I had the breakfast sandwich and added a slice of ham to it, which made it a delicious savoring taste. Love love the way the waitstaff worked in together as a team. Will definitely come back anf will recommend to others.

Yelp
I can see why this place gets packed at the weekends. Food is decent quality, and portions are sufficient to satisfy most. I got the NY strip lunch special ($15 !!!!). Asked for medium, and it came out a little over but still pretty close My wife had the same. She enjoyed hers too. My kids got the kids meal cheeseburger and Funny Face pancake meal and we had leftovers... (but they had room for a milkshake - go figure ) Overall a decent diner experience, not fancy but good and clean. We will be back!

Yelp
Very nice, food was great will be going there soon again. Friend and I really enjoyed it.

Charlotte P.

Yelp
The food was very good. The staff in the front was friendly and the buss boy was friendly. Unfortunately our server was rude and didn't check up on us. I did come on a Sunday so I understand it was busy but that's no excuse to forget about your table. She poured coffee on our champurado and it seemed like she got offended when we told her about it. Also we had to wait over 10 minutes for our check, didn't check up on use so eventually I had to get up and get it. If you can't work well under pressure, the service industry isn't for you, as a server myself I would know.

Christopher K.

Yelp
I've been here a few times in the past few months. It's ok, that's it. The food was hit or miss. It was either perfect or just kind of ok. Friendly servers and hosts. The place is always tidy.

Katherine P.

Yelp
This place is so awesome. We got the hipster Benedict and a Nutella crepe and it was so beautiful and delicious. Great atmosphere and the service was spectacular. I love cozy corner!
google avatar

Yelp
The food was DELICIOUS! We had the Strawberry & Banana Crepes and they were so yummy. Service was fast, friendly and knowledgable. We enjoyed it so much we had this two days in a row while visiting from out of town.

Yelp
I would recommend this place for some typical diner food with some semi creative additions thrown in the mix. I came here with my sister on a Sunday morning for breakfast. They don't have reservations but you're able to check-in online to be put on the waitlist to be seated. They will shout your name from the front when you're up or it will say on your phone online to go to the front. We waited probably around 15-20 minutes. I got the Florentine and feta cheese eggs benedict and my sister got the stuffed cheesecake French toast. Both meals were definitely good and we for sure would come again, it just wasn't anything over the top or worth 5/5 stars necessarily. The benedict was $14 which I thought was a bit high for the quality of the food (again, it was not low quality by any means, just wasn't worth $14 I would say). Our server was awesome and the service was really fast-paced since it's poppin' here on a Sunday, and I'm assuming it's like that during the weekend in general. Nonetheless, the service was great and the food was good enough to come back - I'd come again!!

Yelp
So good. Delicious Denver & ham/cheese omlett. The hash browns were crispy on the outside & soft on the inside, perfection. We dined Friday morning, first booth to the north of the entrance. The gentleman who served us was attentive & anticipated our every need. I noticed the busman/server assistant was superb at making sure every table was pre-bused & cleaned in record time. Kudos. I watched how the staff was working in harmony. This is y I enjoy dining a Cozy Corners since high school.

Yelp
Service is always great for brunch. I often enjoy the breakfast skillets! Wish they offered gluten free pancakes.

Yelp
I moved away from the Cozy Corner in Roger's Park so I was glad there was one closer to my new hood. I always enjoyed the food and service at this establishment. It's smart that this location has free valet parking because it does get crowded. Place is clean and service is great. The chiliquiles tasted great but I was not loving my Mexican rice, which was disappointing. I took a bite of my husband's french toast and it seemed bland; maybe I needed more syrup. Overall it's a nice place to take family.
google avatar

Angelica D.

Yelp
We've been here a couple of times and each time the food has been mediocre. My husband got the chillaquilles with steak. They charge extra for protein. I had the hipster meal. It was okay. I will go back and try other items.
google avatar

Genesis M.

Yelp
COVID UPDATE : The servers wear masks and they socially distance the people coming in to sit down. Food. I came here during lunch time and had the California Melt and it was good. The only thing I'd say that wasn't pleasant was that the bread was a bit greasy and it made it hard to eat. My boyfriend had the Turkey Melt and he enjoyed it. The portions are pretty big here and the price is not expensive. Maybe next time I'll try the breakfast options since they have a variety to choose from.
google avatar

Kathy L.

Yelp
Really good spot for breakfast or lunch! Hubby opted for the combination omelette which came with home fries & toast. The omelette was enormous! I had the cinnamon swirl combo. The swirls were very light & airy and delicious!! My eggs were cooked perfectly & the sausage links were spicy & really good too. Even the toast was delicious! This is a really great little diner for yummy comfort food.
google avatar

Jb D.

Yelp
The only thing this place has going for them is the atmosphere, oh and the ice water is amazing as far as food is concerned not fresh and wait staff are inattentive I'd rather go to ihop and I don't like ihop

Judy F.

Yelp
Excellent food.. SUPERB SERVICE! Matthew was fabulous...extremely customer service oriented!

Yelp
I so wanted to love this place. I've been wanting to come here forever, well, to any cozy corner. I think we waited four months for this location to open. Service was amazing! Everyone is wonderful but the coffee is God awful. I just want my coffee to pierce my nose with a beautiful aroma. Yeah. Fell short.

Jasmin C.

Yelp
Amazing food and service When we walk in we are always greeted in a friendly manner thank you and keep up The good work
google avatar

Mrs-Lawanda H.

Yelp
Really good food. I had the cinnamon roll French toast combo and Hubby had the Three egg breakfast. He said this is the first time that a restaurant has gotten his over East eggs right. Lol The only downside is that the server never checked on us during the meal.
google avatar

Christian S.

Yelp
I like the food and the morning breakfast special before 9am is a good deal. Cozy Corner has multiple locations and I think the service can be good somewhere and better elsewhere. The ambiance is fine, it's a diner that's not too old or dingy, but i even remember anything about it other than the burgundy colors, (if that's even right!).
google avatar

Maria L.

Yelp
Sorry to be so critical, but I've Grubhub three Cozy locations. This one fell woefully short of the others. I ordered 4 breakfasts (see order image). Three of the four were disappointing - The two California omelettes and one Denver omelette. First they were like quiches not omelettes. The Denver omelette barely had any ham and green peppers. One California was with egg whites but it seems the cook forgot the majority of ingredients. It had a ton of Avocado and barely anything else (Bacon or Tomatoes.) Apparently it was all in the third omelette. This last California omelette had so much tomato, bacon, and avocado it just wasn't appetizing. A recommendation is that the cooks see how the omelettes are made at Diversey or Milwuakee locations.

Yelp
Been here a few times I always get the Capone lemon berry pancakes they are SO good. I ask for extra filling too. I like how they have a combo deal there , eggs and choice of sausage for an extra $4 . They have turkey sausage Pattie's too. It gets very busy but they do have free valet if you can't find a spot in their parking lot . The staff has always been very nice and even when it's super busy , they always come check on us and see if we need anything . It's definitely a great breakfast place added to the neighborhood. They took down Sally's and built this in its place , way better "new" food and updated decor .

Steph A.

Yelp
I would not eat here. Its a waste of money. Aweful service. Myaunt fell here due to the old rangy rug and broker her hand and they provided absolutely no help. The restaurant and service is aweful they don't care about the customers. In fact we paid the full bill and then went to the emergency room.
google avatar

John Y.

Yelp
Who trains these waitresses? Well, you're not doing a very good job. Lackadaisical forgetful work ethic. Not crowded yet they can't remember to bring the Splenda we asked for. Coffee? Are you so afraid to give us a refill on the coffee? You're charging good prices, don't pretend you didn't see we need more coffee in a timely manner! The prices are high for what it is. This is not a customer, repeat friendly place to dine at.

Yelp
Wow, I am so incredibly impressed by Cozy Corner. Sure, it took forever to open, but I am so thankful that they finally did because the food is incredible. My friend and I came here yesterday for lunch, and even at 11:30, the place was jammed. The parking lot is pretty large, but it wraps around the building, which I hate because people can drive like idiots in such a narrow passageway. Anyways, let's get back on track to the food and service. The people who were taking care of us were such sweethearts. When we first walked in, since there were only two of us, my friend and I were asked if we wanted to wait a little bit for a booth or if we just would like to sit at the front "bar-like" area. We just agreed to sit at the front bar like area, which was fine, but next time I would much rather like to sit at a normal table for a more intimate, comfortable experience. Because of our seats, we sadly did not get to enjoy or see much of the actual restaurant dining area, so I cannot yet review this part of my experience too much because I was staring at the cooks the whole time I ate, haha! Kinda reminded me of Steak n' Shake when people sit right near the cash register. Nice though for people who are alone and want to have a quick lunch or cup of coffee. Our waitress was so nice and helpful, and it was evident that she liked her job, or she pretended really well ;) Very helpful and she was very attentive to us and always asked me if I needed more coffee. The prices are not too bad. I ordered a chicken stir-fry on the dinner portion of the menu, and it came with either a soup or salad. I chose to eat the chicken enchilada soup, which was seriously heaven in a cup because it was so thick and a tad spicy. It also had crispy chips on top which made the soup so much more enjoyable. My chicken stir fry was very good, as well, though the teriyaki sauce they used did give me heartburn. The chicken was perfectly cooked, and the chicken comes on top of fresh rice and mixed with snap peas and some other veggies on top. This meal was $12.99, but the portion size was large, so I do not think this is an unreasonable price for what I got. Their coffee was also fresh and not too strong or bitter in taste. It tasted a little nutty. My friend ordered a skillet, which she absolutely loved, and she said everything tasted fresh and well-cooked. I will definitely be returning to see what other items I can try on the menu!
google avatar

Donelle K.

Yelp
The food is always fresh, our servers have always had a great attitude, the wait time has not been all that bad. Weekends, of course, are always busy. That is how a lot of restaurants are on the weekends. The restaurant itself is clean. They have valet parking if you choose to utilize the service. The servers were very careful during the pandemic with masking up. I also like the environment. There is more diversity with the customers that go to this restaurant. I like that.
google avatar

Jeff R.

Yelp
Was good when they first opened Now it's just a money grab Cheap quality ingredients and poorly cooked dishes for a premium price Two thumbs down! Last time ordering from these crooks.
google avatar

Mari S.

Yelp
Food was good service as well, a little pricey but what isn't anymore. We were seated super fast even though the parking lot was full, I liked the pancakes a lot very tasty
google avatar

Angeles A.

Yelp
Classic breakfast spot. Extensive menu. Food is pretty good quality. Ducking a star for the bad coffee. Beware weekends they are very busy as expected but I like to visit off peak hours and have always had a pleasant brunch.

Cheryl K.

Yelp
After my previous review, the owner reached out to me with the best customer service and made things right- shows a lot about Cozy Corner and that they care about their business. I will definitely be back soon!

Sharon C.

Yelp
I wish I liked this place because I LOVED the former restaurant in this space, Sally's! Sally's was always spot on for crepes and shakes and most all other food choices. After the re-model of the restaurant it was hit or miss. I was stoked to see another breakfast place to take its place but super disappointed when I tried it. This wasn't long after it's grand opening and I was too afraid to go back. Also, their sign outside is pretty tacky. Sorry, doesn't feel "cozy".

Sarah B.

Yelp
Food was delicious and you get a lot of food for your money. They did have early bird specials, but we ordered off the regular menu. I got Eggs Benedict and he got the Abuelitas skillet. Friendly waitstaff and very helpful. Very pleasant environment and quiet despite multiple tables being seated around us during breakfast. Would definitely go again!
google avatar

Dorotka K.

Yelp
Parking is a challenge, but they offer free valet on the weekends. Well priced and portions are very large if you stick to their breakfast menu. Very tasty coffee. The restaurant staff and our server were friendly and courteous.
google avatar

Steve J.

Yelp
Food was good but loud hip hop music in the morning with my breakfast I can do without. Went for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Service and food was good. My daughter is in her teens and she also thought the load music was annoying. Will not be going back.
google avatar

Lauren H.

Yelp
Cozy Corner hits it right for me no matter the location. This one is new, clean, and has some hip wall art. I was very happy with my chilaquiles verses and perfectly fried eggs. It was spicy, slightly still crunchy, and a reasonable size. Forget the rice, it's forgettable. Dad enjoyed his Denver omelet and mom got more coffee refills than she should have been allowed to. She was WIRED after breakfast. Parking is ample and they even offer free valet!
google avatar

Melaya G.

Yelp
Bad costumer service. Host was rude and seated many people who came in after my friend and I did. And then proceeded to tell us to chill when we asked about it.
google avatar

Yelp
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE SECRET PARKING LOT? I was heading to meet a friend at the Cozy Corner 1 week ago and noticed the "secret parking lot" is no more. No mas! What happened to the secret parking lot on Rascher (off Harlem Ave)? It no longer exists. All the Cozy Corner signs were removed from the secret parking lot. The good news is that you can still catch breakfast specials Monday through Thursday $6.99. -- they have a good selection of breakfast specials and the portions are decent. You will leave very satisfied. They don't offer breakfast specials with the $6.99 price point on weekends. Expect to spend $10 or more on weekends for the same hearty breakfast you can get for $6.99 (during the week). The service here is hit or miss -- depending on your server. Some servers at the Cozy Corner are much better than others. The bottom line: the food is decent but I've had better breakfast dishes at other restaurants. I usually go here for their $6.99 breakfast specials. The secret parking lot does not exist anymore. The parking lot is extremely small. The best time to go here is between 6 and 8 a.m. Some people park next door at Wendy's parking and walk over to a Cozy Corner. We usually come between 6 and 7 a.m. We have never had a problem finding a parking spot in their tiny parking lot. My 3-star rating is based on several factors: Parking lot is super small Service can be hit or miss $6.99 breakfast specials not offered on weekends Water glass may not be refilled for a while

Yelp
Ordered steak and eggs. Eggs, hash browns, and pancakes all O.K. Steak was hard and dry, ordered medium rare. Told waiter and he said nothing. I was brought the check and asked if everything was O.K. I again said no, look I did not eat the steak. Asked for a manager and I was told it was my fault I ordered the steak well done. Nothing he would do about my problem. I do not think this was the way to handle the situation. ART C
