HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I went in to Cozy Corner on Clark at 2:50pm for a Too Good to Go pick-up. I understand completely that you never know what you're going to get in a TGTG bag, and that wasn't my complaint. (Although, be warned - it was literally the scraped out bottoms of a vat of soup and a tiny bit of leftover rice with two pieces of bread - save your money.)
My problem was the HORRIBLE, ATROCIOUS customer service. I went to pick up the bag, and the man at the counter stopped before handing it to me, reached into the cooler and pulled out a giant lemon. (He swears it was an orange now that it's gone up to his boss, but I'll provide photos and you tell me.) He dropped the lemon into the bag, tied it up and handed it to me. I took it home, and when I opened it, the lemon had punched a hole into the top of the soup container, and the soup had spilled ALL OVER the entire contents of the bag. I didn't want to fish through chicken noodle soup for remnants, so I threw EVERYTHING away.
Honestly, I was a little annoyed, but things happen, so I decided to call and tell them what happened. I was calm and polite. I got the same guy who had packed the bag on the phone (Jose - a manager) and he insisted that A. It wasn't a lemon and B. They can't guarantee I'll like what was in the bag. I told him several times that I wasn't complaining about the food, but about the fact that he lobbed a huge lemon into the bag and it broke the packaging, spilling soup all over everything so I had to throw the bag away.
He LAUGED at me, never ONCE apologized for the lemon, and said, "Okay, I'll give you another bag." He was openly mocking me, laughing at me and really, really rude. I told him to keep the bag, but I won't ever come back because of how he was laughing at me. He laughed MORE and said, "Great. That's good."
The man was disgusting and rude and cruel and (I felt) incredibly sexist. I just didn't feel that I would have been spoken to that way if I hadn't been a woman. His boss called me to discuss what happened and I finally got an apology. But then very quickly what came out of his mouth next was, "He's been with us five years and everyone really likes him." So I'm left to assume that this is their culture. They're cool with men treating women like this. It's so incredibly gross. They could have offered me a $100 gift certificate (he didn't offer me ANYTHING), but I wouldn't have taken it because I would never step foot in that restaurant again.
I suggest you stay FAR away. Incredibly gross.
