Cozy Corner Restaurant & Pancake House

Absolutely wonderful service and food!!! Parking lot is small and crowded but we did find a spot after a few minutes of hovering around. There is street parking with Park Chicago around the corner. Large diverse menu with a sweet variety of pancakes for breakfast. Kids menu has a good variety as well. Staff were amazingly efficient and very friendly. Prices are a little high but VERY worth it. The sausage links were the best I have had in years and the stuffed French toast will make me come back for more when we revist Chicago. Must try!!!

This place is amazing for family dining, me and my family love it, the food is delicious, service is great, nice and cozy atmosphere, just went there a few days ago and got the "banditos" benedict eggs, loved them, I love that most plates (if not all) are always served with fresh fruit, toast, or even pancakes! one of my other favorites is the "fiesta skillet", wish I could eat breakfast here every day 🤤

It was busy when we got there but we got seated immediately. Everything was very good and the employees were very nice.

The food was super bland, and service was mid. I definitely would have gave it zero stars if it were possible. They sat us under a leaking vent, the manager came by just to make sure we weren’t lying but then literally did nothing refused to move us yet kept seating new people coming in. The turned off the ac supposedly to stop the leak but then it got obviously hot and they turned it back on and it leaked. By then we had already gotten our food so leaving wasn’t an option, so we sat and ate while the vent leaked on us. My husband also wants me to put in this review that it was my idea to come here as he wanted to go to Golden Nugget.

We had a great time at Cozy Corner. We went to have breakfast at 8:30 AM on a Tuesday. It was a pleasant surprise to find out that they have breakfast specials if you arrive Monday through Friday before 9 AM. We had the meat lovers skillet and the eggs and sausage special. They were a reasonable price, and the food was plenty and tasty. We were served very quickly. Our waitress was very attentive and patient. The atmosphere was clean and appeared to be well operated. There's a small parking lot at the location on Diversey, and there was ample parking when we arrived, I've been there once where it was difficult to park. It is worth the wait, and I will definitely go again. I recommend the turkey sausage, skillets, and specialty pancakes 🥞 really, you can't go wrong.

Came in on a busy Sunday morning. Pretty much the only place with it's own parking which was great! Sat right down at the counter instead of waiting for a table. I ordered the Billy Goat omelet (spinach, bacon, sun dried tomatoes and goat cheese. With hash browns and pancakes. The staff was really busy, but didn't neglect us! Food came out timely and correct. Overall it was a FILLING breakfast. I didn't even eat lunch because breakfast was so filling. Gave me energy to tour Chicago. Great cafe!

20 min wait on a Sunday afternoon for brunch. Fast service. Decent coffee and food. Friendly waitstaff. Can't complain about anything. We had a very nice breakfast. Prices range from fair to a bit high but there's something for everybody. Kind of out of our way but we'll probably be back.

SERVICE is awesome here. It Goes a very long way in today's day and age. fast, attentive, follow up.... I've never waited for anything even on their busiest days. Tip- if it's 1 or 2 of you, eat at the counter and avoid a wait.

Not so busy on a Sunday morning. We were seated right away. Very clean and modern looking restaurant Our server, Ashley, had great energy and a smile the whole time. The food was phenomenal. The chilequeles weren't too hot, and left a slow burn midway through. I recommend the skirt steak on top. There was so much we also had left over.

Customer service was A+. Ordered veggie omelette, hash browns, corn beef hash, pancakes and eggs. They don't skim. Food came out hot and fresh. Place gets packed, suggest go early. Avoid sitting at the end of the counter. You will be disturbed by the loudness of one bus boy/(Man) emptying and tossing dirty dishes in a bin.

I ordered this uber eats so I didn't see inside the restaurant for ambiance or service but this skillet was soo good. And not to expensive! Yum.

Very good food, great service with casual ambiance. Very busy establishment. Wonderful tasting sandwich with plenty of filling. Coffee was good. Our waitress was wonderful and attentive. I would come back to try other items off of the menu.

I went here to get breakfast for my son's birthday I had never eaten at this restaurant and just looked it up based on reviews. I ordered a great breakfast and it looked promising but it wasn't for me. I tried a cup of coffee cause I had heard the coffee was great here as well. The restaurant was well lit had plenty of seating to dine in and looked very cheerful. they even had a bar to sit, if you chose that or was dining out alone and didn't want a full table. The staff were nice and everyone smiled and looked happy upon me coming in. The breakfast was for take out as well. I did sit in and drink the coffee while waiting for the food which didn't take long to receive as well. One day I plan to return and have a dining experience of my own. Over all I would recommend you try this establishment and by the way they have a great menu and the prices are reasonable

Sat around noon. Wait time was minimal, 6 people. They have pozole on weekends. Chillaquiles were good. Pancakes large plate enough to share.

I was there on a Sunday about 4:30 pm and they close at 5:00 pm. Hardly any customers, less than 4 tables. Food and service was good. I had a grilled cheese sandwich and substituted the fries for hash browns, with a cola. It cost about $16.50 which is overpriced for the amount of food I got I believe. The cola was 3.99. Granted you could get refills but I wasn't there long enough to do so. I might go back because it's close by.

I would give this place negative reviews if possible! Management is the worse, some one was holding a parking space for whomever and a customer came in to complain to management saying they wouldn't let an older lady park due to this dick blocking parking space and management basically said they were regulars so they couldn't do anything! Wtf..

Strongly reliable I've been going to Cozy Corner diners for a while now and this location works best for me. The food is what you can expect and at a reasonable price. I usually enjoy my meal to the fullest. The service here is excellent and efficient here, which is something i value and can appreciate here. Good breakfast experiences await here

Been wanting to stop by for a while now. I always pass by this place in the mornings and it's always packed. After going there, I now know why. The workers here are amazing. They were on pout through out my entire breakfast. They made sure my coffee cup never got empty and they brought out our food very quickly. My wife ordered their country fried steak. It was cooked to perfection. And very filling. The hash browns were also very tasty. I ordered their chilaquiles verdes with skirt steak. The chilaquiles were served with a side of rice and beans with two fried eggs. I was hoping for a big piece of steak, but they instead cut the skirt steak into slices. The chilaquiles were very spicy and the skirt steak was very tender and perfectly cooked. I wouldn't hesitate to order this again. I will admit, they have a lot of great offerings on their menu that kind of made it hard to pick, but at the end of the day I went with my go to dish. I will definitely be returning to try the other dishes out. The food is a little on the high side for the area, but still well worth it in my opinion.

Recently my love and I had a hankering for some lunch delivery on a random Sunday thanks to a promotion. Cozy Corner was not exactly our first choice on this day, but it was available through a delivery promotion and we were satisfied with our food. We have dined at Cozy Corner before, but not at this Hermosa location on Diversey. Our delivery driver was prompt and courteous as he dropped off our contactless order at our front stoop. My love went with a burger combo that included fries and a soft drink. She said the crinkle fries were a bit cold, but the couple of fries that I sampled tasted good. The bite of the burger was also good. I really enjoyed my meat loaf meal, and I had enough food left for dinner too. The meat loaf had just the right amount of gravy to go along with the mashed potatoes, and the veggie mix of corn, peppers and onions was tasty. My meal also came with a side salad (the small cup of thousand island dressing was ok but not enough) and bread and butter. One of these days we may have to physically visit the Cozy Corner, once this pandemic stuff goes away.

Come here at least once a month. Good breakfast and lunch options. Quick and friendly service. Family friendly. This location has a large parking lot which is key. I live near their Logan square location and prefer this location because of parking.

I love a good chicago chain! Food is what's to be expected! Definitely queer friendly!! My partner and i went and were greeted with open arms! Don't be surprised if u have to wait-- it's worth it!

Honestly the worst breakfast ever. Not even edible...veggie skillet eggs were over cooked. The veggies were bad and that's a sad avocado.

Fast service and good food! Came in on. Sunday morning and sat at the counter for no wait. Had coffee and our food to us in 15 minutes! They have a huge menu so be ready to peruse it because many of the items will call to you! I ordered the spinach and goat cheese omelette and my friend ordered the coconut macadamia nut pancakes. We were impressed and would gladly come again!

This review is based on long-term patronage via takeout. The food is good - comfortable giving it four stars. The attention to detail? Not so much. Let me repeat that, the food is good... IF you get what you ordered, which is a crapshoot at best. Missing items, wrong items (as in 2 out of the 3 omelette orders were wrong), etc. It's gotten to the point that you can't leave the parking lot without taking out each item and checking it against your order. I won't be coming back for a while.

A friend recommended this place for really good food and it came through. You get so much food for the money you spend- I barely finished my plate. Service was quick and even though we had to wait, we didn't wait too long.

If you don't come out of this place completely full and unbuttoning the top button of your pants, then you're doing something wrong. Portions are huge and come with sides like 2 pancakes on top of what you order. Menu has everything you could possibly conceive of for breakfast and lunch. The restaurant is located in a shopping plaza with not much else around. The exterior is sparse but once you get inside it's buzzing. There's a pretty large side parking lot specifically for Cozy Corner patrons. The line gets pretty long but service is quick so once you get seated, it's a fast pace to get you out the door. They can accommodate large parties but I find that it's a much longer wait with more people then if you go with just 2 people. Because there are so many items on the menu, the expectation should be that what they serve you is decent. Nothing is going to be outstanding or the best thing you've ever had but that's okay because nothing is going to be bad either. I know when I go to Cozy Corner I'm going to get a solid breakfast experience for a good value. I recommend the veggie skillet ($10.99) and a large glass of fresh squeezed orange juice ($3.39).

Love this place, it's regular breakfast food but always know what you're gonna get. I frequent the location on Diversey only and the reason I didn't put 5 starts because everyone there is great all except one young lady that works there, don't know what it is but never in a friendly mood, everyone there is super nice and I dread going there hoping not to see her. Other than that it's an awesome location.

I have been driving past this location for a while and after my first experience I will be back. The wait staff here are very friendly and have a good sense of humor. We were seated very quickly and waited on with the same speed. The server was knowledgeable and checked up on us with perfect timing. I will say the water had white particles in it, a bit off putting but wasn't aiming on drinking it anyway. The multigrain banana walnut pancakes were really good! I will defiantly get those again! Bananas were on top and inside which I liked.

The staff here is really good, it's just the food and prices here that really let you down. Almost everything they sell (short of the eggs) comes from a box or a can. Just a bunch of reheated salty junk food served up in large portions for ~$15/plate. The price is what makes this the most annoying. Everything, and I mean nearly everything from the top of the menu to the bottom, is ~$15. 2 eggs and some bacon? $15. 3 eggs and some ham? $15. Orange juice? Well, that one's only $3. But you get the point. It's a utilitarian rest stop to load your bodies with calories and salt... And relieve your self of $50 for a family of 3. TL;DR: Bad food at high prices.

Driven past this spot a bunch of times coming home from work and finally had the chance to stop by. It looks like it normally gets pretty busy on a Saturday morning, which is expected for a breakfast joint. The wait wasn't too crazy, I recommend just taking a seat at the bar if your party isn't too big. I went with my dad and we ordered the Carnitas Skillet and Chilaquiles Verdes con Pollo. We split the two and both were fire. Carnitas was a nice change up from usual skillet toppings and the chicken on the chilaquiles was cooked perfectly..a nice char, but still juicy and not dry. If you don't like spicy be sure to mention it though, one of the waitresses was thoughtful enough to mention that this week's batch of jalapenos was a little spicier than usual and we were able to just get it on the side. Overall, awesome food, friendly staff, reasonable prices and a big menu that I plan on trying again!

This place was packed but could handle it I got French toast with fruit and all the trimmings. My family got breakfast skillets. Everything was delicious

Ordered Delivery; good ingredients, nice portions, prepared without much care. I used to eat at the location in WP back in the day, before WP had a starbie. I remember good prices and great quality classic diner food. We just moved back to the area after being away for many years and we had a hankering for that classic delish. What I ate today wasn't that. It was overpriced, the cheese on my "melt" sandwich was unmelted, and there wasn't much flavor or seasoning to enjoy. I'm disappointed that the quality went down inverse to prices, but such is the fate of long years of minor cost saving measures and chaining. They'll be open for 40 more years cranking out mediocrity at a speed that puts shame to the care that went into cultivating the original experience (in more ways than one). Rating begins at 3 stars: The under-seasoned fries travelled surprisingly well, blandly crunchy previously frozen crinkle cut. +0 The aforementioned tuna melt, single slice of swiss unmelted, had sparse evidence of finely minced red onion mixed in, on flimsy under-toasted multigrain. It's typically the dish by which i judge any restaurant that deems themselves ready to serve it, for good reason. Deceptively simple, with a critical detail central to the entire recipe: the cheese *must* melt. The name implies not only what's in it but how it's prepared. Whatever the reason, it wasn't a great meal today, and i'm left deeply underwhelmed, though thoroughly full.

I can't believe I've never completed a review for this place after coming for over a year. This place is booming on Sunday mornings after 9am. There is a 20-30 min wait and ppl wait outside even in the winter. This is my 1st experience with chicken chilaquiles verede. OMG clearly this has become my favorite breakfast dish, it's Mexican. HOWEVER, because I don't like soggy food, I request my salsa on the side. That pretty much alters the dish to nachos but who cares. I think I'm the only customer who orders it that way, so I know they know me. The service is pretty much on point, they are efficient and quick. The ladies who work there are pleasant. I've only come across one guy who can be an asshole he sorta stands out but 1 apple doesn't spoil the bunch. I've also had a cheeseburger from there before a experience chilaquiles, it was comparable to portilios. The waffles are awesome...DAMN EVERYTHING is good. They are in the midst of building a new location in Norridge on Harlem, I can't wait as that one is closer to my house. I hope once it's complete, it maintains the service a d quality as this location.

This is a awesome place to eat breakfast the cheesecake filled pancakes are unlike anything I have ever had so incredibly delish the waffle are so flakey and soft athmosphere is laid back great prices everything is cooked to order so expect your food to come out steaming hot

The location is good and they have plenty of parking including parking two doors down. The restaurant is spacious and clean. As for my server she was nice and attentive and was training someone at the same time. Kept bringing us coffee and was friendly as well, she didn't say her name and I didn't ask. It's an inexpensive place to visit to gather with friends and relax. The food is ok and the coffee as well.

Eggs Benedict is outstanding at 11.99$ you can't beat that and service with a smile It's my good to for all things eggs. Can't wait to work my way down the rest of the menu.

Good food but the prices are so high now it's ridiculous. Usually go to the diversey location but all 3 are good quality. Prices are just too high for regular meals. I ordered a veggie omelette and a turkey club and the total was way over $30 and that's ridiculous.

Ok, so every time my daughter and I order from here, never disappoints. I love their stuffed French Toast & my daughter loves their short stack-chocolate chip pancakes. The sausage links are DELICIOUS!! But the best part, when I order coffee, I always ask for cream and sugar, whomever makes my coffee - makes me think of my grandmother. It's so comforting! So whoever you are THANK YOU.

I've been coming to Cozy since the one on California was just one little area of a restaurant. This specific one on Diversey, I've found countless of hair strands IN my FOOD. The second time around was not okay, but ok ig w.e. But I'm going into visit count number 6 of me complaining about HAIR in my FOOD. That's utterly disgusting. DISGUSTING

Skimped on the meat on my meat lovers skillet. Mostly potatoes and they tasted like they were microwaved. I've had spotty quality from this location and would suggest taking the time to go to the Logan Square location instead.

The breakfast and lunch deals are cheaper than Golden Nugget. We actually left a Golden Nugget because we were disappointed with the raising prices. After living 3 blocks from a Golden Nugget, it's been done for us. This is the first chain I've went with my sister, 2nd time for me though. I love the $5.99 early bird specials and have yet to try $6.99 lunch specials. I've also been to the other chain near Wright college Nursing School as well. Each location has a different vibe and I prefer this location because of the 2 parking lots and it appears bigger. I don't notice the noise level despite the packed place. It gets packed, yet somehow we usually get a table real quick. Food is delicious and hearty. The staff is quick and friendly. The early bird specials have different kinds of skillets and different kinds of 3 egg omletts to choose from.

After a long night drinking Cozy Corner is my new go to. Their food is not only delicious, but their portions are great. I have had almost everything on their menu, and all of it is yummy. My favorite is the chicken club. It comes with huge chunks of chicken breast, and the fries are possibly my favorite in the city. Trust me if you need a hangover cure any of their items will help you get back on your feet.

My husband , and I have been going to Cozy Corner for 10 years. We moved to the burbs , and still drive into the city to go, and eat breakfast at this specific Resturant a few times a month. Last weekend we went to eat, and my husbands food was not as he ordered, and the waitress cave back , and said she grabbed the wrong plate when all she did was switch the meats out. When she bought the plate back , and he noticed he lost his appetite for his food, and didn't want it she stormed off then came back insisting he take the food. Finally he got her to go away. Finally the manager came & apologized said she shouldn't have done any of that , and wanted to let us have our food for free. We still paid , and left unhappy.

Ok for most breakfast places in the area. There really isn't much to compete around but is about the same as breakfast house or other similar places nearby.
