Oof, where to start.
So my friend and I came in with our three toddlers. Yes, I know. We are very mindful of the chaos that comes with eating out with toddlers. As we walked in, I heard a server mutter something under her breath about the fact that we had all these kids, but I didn't mind it. Lo and behold, of course that was our server. Anywho, my friend and I order the kids' food first so that the food would come out quickly and therefore prevent a meltdown. Their food arrived quickly enough, and the kids were happily eating. Our food, however, didn't arrive.... and still didn't arrive. We asked for our food to just be put in to-go boxes whenever it was ready. The kids eventually finished eating, and we knew our time was limited. We tried to call the server over to tell her to just cancel our food and to ask for the check. She didn't even come over to give me the time of day, she just yelled from across the way "Yeah, I told them (the kitchen) already". I was taken aback. Then a few minutes later, she says "they're making the food now". And again didn't give us a breath to even say "we'd just like the check". We had to ask another employee for our check. The kids are 0.05 seconds to a full meltdown at this point. And we are trying to convey to people that we are trying to rush out of this place for the benefit of the rest of the restaurant because we know how disruptive toddler tantrums can be. We did our best to try and cause as little disruption as possible, but the server was anything but helpful, and certainly not accommodating. Finally our food and our checks arrived. It was an awful experience. I won't be back. And to everyone reading- most parents know that we're being judged the minute we walk into a restaurant, we know. But we really are doing our very best and just want to enjoy time together. So please just be patient with us when you see us struggling out there in the world.
