Food Is the Real Score at Kansas City’s New Women’s Soccer Stadium | Eater

"When it opened in March, CPKC Stadium made history as the first dedicated professional women’s sports stadium in the world; I found it equally notable for its heavy emphasis on local food, having recruited many of Kansas City’s most iconic eateries so fans can sample barbacoa nachos, hulking barbecue sandwiches, lemongrass pork bowls, and more all in one place — making it one of the best spots in town to eat, especially for out-of-towners looking to maximize their dining in a single night." - Xiao daCunha

I had an absolute blast watching the KC Current play at CPKC Stadium today! The energy in the stadium is electric from the moment you walk in — the fans, the music, and the sea of teal make it such an incredible atmosphere. Every seat has a great view of the action, and you can tell the stadium was built with the fans in mind. The food and drink options are fantastic, the staff is friendly, and everything is clean and easy to navigate. It’s amazing to see Kansas City leading the way with a stadium dedicated entirely to women’s sports. Can’t wait to come back for another game — go Current! ⚽💚💙

This place is a very fun place to go! The staff are very friendly and seem to love their jobs! If you’re looking for an even causal event to go to in KC, this would be it! Blue Crew gets very loud for the Current!!! However we had to wait through a 3 and a half hour delay because it was too hot. I’m totally for player safety, but this could’ve been planned better. Although the players were in AC, the fans were not. It is very hot in the middle of August here and a 3:00p.m game may have been a crazy idea if there’s a rule that it can be too hot. Because of this we were pretty much forced to eat stadium food which is a bit overpriced, but I do like that all water is free if you have your own cup to bring! We also got to meet the PRESIDENT of the KC Current as she was thanking people for sticking around during the delay! The parking seems like a mess right now with a lot of construction. Everything outside the stadium is feeling kind of rushed after they built CPKC Stadium. Overall this place is very good, but the delay because of the heat and feeling forced to eat there did not help.

Best stadium I’ve been to. Atmosphere is incredible with great views and local food. River breeze makes great soccer weather when it’s hot as well. Great stadium, would recommend to anybody coming to KC. There could be a way better way to get there though.

Amazing stadium! There needs to be more stadiums like this. Not a bad seat. Buy a ticket and support this KC Current team. Great food options as well! I had the brisket sandwich from Joe's BBQ stand... Spot on. They also have (self-service) refillable drink cups... I think it was like $8.99. You return the cups when you're done so they can re-use/recycle. We bought a parking pass for the Teal lot... Short walk. It did take some time when leaving the lot... Be prepared for that. They are currently building a parking garage I believe.

For all the talk about inclusion, I found the stadium is not well planned for older adults. We had a couple of octogenarians who have season tickets to skc that had a tough time at cpkc. The shuttle drop off is a bit way off and the wait for a shuttle on the return was over thirty minutes. Being a hot day, it would have been helpful to have more shady areas with seating. There was no guidance to stadium seating so our seats were a trek. Do better please!

Google
came to this stadium for the first time for the youth national qualifier on june 28th. seats in the lower 100s are super nice and are so comfy, close, and breathable and the very tippy top seats are less comfy but super breezy and cool w an amazing view. there are also a lot of seating options by the food stations. since it wasn't an official game day a lot of the eateries inside were closed but i saw signs for joes barbecue, lulus thai noodle shop, billies grocery, babas pantry, yolis tortilleria, boulevard brewing co, martin city brewery, and some other generic snack stands for popcorn and stuff like that. not too sure about the parking situation but there is a premium lot (i'm sure is paid) and two big gravel lots that are maybe cheaper or just GA. you're allowed to bring all types of water bottles in and they also sell a souvenir cup that can be refilled over and over again w water or soda. overall a super clean and nice stadium with lots of snack variety!

Google
Great stadium, parking is iffy but there are options, too bus/shuttle in. The parking spaces at the stadium are about a foot too narrow. Inside the stadium is great, food options for all, staff is fantastic. KC BABY!!

It was an amazing experience for myself, not to mention my 14 year old daughter. I used to coach her in soccer for 6 years and love the fact that she got to experience a stadium built specifically and exclusively for a women's professional soccer team. So much to do and see there. There is no bad seat. Please attend a game and take your daughter(s) so they can see what is possible.

Yelp
First rate experience with every contact from stadium personnel at the gate, guest services, the bar was hospitable and impeccable! It's genuine consideration that I felt especially when they knew it was our first game at CPKC! My entire family enjoyed the upgrade to West club! The food and drinks served were delicious. The featured mixed drink was delicious and I appreciated the treatment and customer service, always friendly with a smile! The energy throughout the game was upbeat and fun! The Surface Tension drum-line and chats kep us, the stadium crowd, engaged and I'm pretty sure the team rallied with every rumble! The KC Current team played against Washington Spirit and won their last game of the season during Current's Female Athlete Night! We truly enjoyed everything! The swag we picked up from different local entities like UMKC, University of Kansas, United Way and League of Women Voters, was a bonus!

Yelp
This was a great experience!! We got tix on Seat Geek and bought a parking pass for the night. Going in was pretty easy, though they had some weird traffic blockages as soon as we got off I-29. Inside the stadium was amazing!! We were in the West Club section. They had a buffet before and during the match. Most drinks were included. It was a very nice experience. The KC Current played okay. They gave up the draw goal in the 90th minute, so that was a bit of a bummer, but we are still undefeated. Getting out of the parking lot was kind of a nightmare. It only holds around 1000 cars total and we were in the lost west of the premium parking. It took us 40 minutes to get out. Most of the time we were just sitting still. The end of game exodus needs to be better organized. The traffic directors were lackadaisical and slow. But the entrance to the stadium was a breeze, the same with our section in and out. Just a great experience except for the parking.

Yelp
I jumped on the soccer bandwagon about two years ago. I had season tickets last year and was jazzed to get season tickets this year. The stadium is clean and getting in is quick and efficient. We paid for parking so that we did not have to bus in as there are only 1,000 spots for the 11,000 capacity. The food is great and I love that it is local vendors. Their sustainability efforts are great to see. They have reusable cups and compost at the stadium. Cons: There is an all gender bathroom but it's a little hard to find. The seating in some sections is also pretty narrow. In our season seats, my hips hit both sides of the seat when I stand to cheer. I am 5'6 and 140 pounds so I found it odd that they were almost too narrow for me.

Yelp
First ones in at the first game ever! First stadium in US history specifically for professional women's sports. What a time for Kansas City! Sightlines are amazing. TONS of facilities, concessions are focused locally and are super varied, and WiFi is robust and free (#KCBABY is the SSID). Stuff is going to happen here. So, sure, parking is rough, and yeah, the paint is literally still drying, but see the forest for the trees. This place is on the map, and like the Seinfeld quote, it's REAL and it's SPECTACULAR!

Yelp
Welcome to the only women's professional sports stadium in the world! That's right! Here in KC, we are leading the way. There is no bad seat at CPKC. Hungry? Order food from your seats and pick It up when ready! There are vegan and vegetarian options to choose from here. I especially love Yoli tortilleria. This is a super positive and enjoyable environment for all. The atmosphere and people are great, not to mention the views.

Yelp
Opening day was more than amazing. Beautiful new stadium built specifically for women's sports. The weather couldn't have been more perfect. Thousands of people wearing the Current's colors to fill the stadium. If you have the pleasure of visiting Kansas City, try to plan around a KC Current home game, I don't think you'll be disappointed. This was my first in person soccer game, and I loved every moment. I honestly don't think there could be a bad seat in the stadium. We parked downtown and caught one of the free shuttles to the stadium. Not to bad as it made for easy arrival and departure. Didn't have to deal with the hassle of parking traffic. The food at the concessions was reasonably priced, AND I must mention that there is something for everyone. The ownership team made sure to have local eats throughout the stadium. Must check it out once you get the chance. KC BABY !!!

Yelp
Epic new stadium, gorgeous views of the Missouri River and downtown, fantastic food and all shiny and new, the CPKC Stadium is a huge step for Kansas City and women's professional sports. Witnessed a 5-4 victory over the Portland Thorns in the first game ever held here. Can't wait to see many more. Even if you haven't been to a match before, try to make one, but be warned, they're sold out for the season but second market tickets can be had. Only possible downer is limited parking but we left our cars in the River Market and enjoyed the stroll along the river of about 1.4 miles to get to the stadium. As a season ticket holder, I'm biased, but this is a great time to be had in the city for a lot of people thirsting for a great professional women's team. KC Baby!

Yelp
First professional sports stadium in the entire world for women in our city. We are season ticket holders and it's been an amazing experience! Food and drinks are expensive as expected for most stadiums. The level of service rendered by the staff is exceptional and holds a high standard across all stadiums. Fans are amazing and make every game electric! It's a must visit for Kansas City.

Yelp
A beautiful river view stadium for women's soccer. It's eco friendly bring your own water cup. Concessions are tasty and a fair price for what you get. They have options for everyone. There isn't a bad seat in the house and the view of the game is perfect with the crowds cheers you can't help but route for the KC Current. The pro shop has a line but the colors teal and red just look great on so many items. They have shuttles if you park down town or just enjoy the river walk. If you have a parking pass getting in and out is not difficult.
