Dinner tasted amazing, fresh noodles, great spice level. The fried buns were an absolute delight and the spicy cucumbers were a nice touch. Very friendly and not overbearing service. Highly recommend the place.

Google
CQ Noodles is the kind of quaint neighborhood restaurant that quietly delivers some of the most unforgettable Sichuan flavors around. I’ve been twice now, and both visits were exceptional. The first time, I ordered an appetizer and the Dan Dan noodles, which came with fresh hand-cut noodles—possibly by request, or maybe that was the standard at the time. Either way, they were phenomenal: chewy, springy, and drenched in a sauce that was savory, spicy, and deeply satisfying. Yesterday, I returned with my son, who’s a discerning foodie with a palate that doesn’t tolerate mediocrity. We ordered the Dan Dan noodles again—this time with regular noodles—and they were still absolutely delicious. The flavors were so bold and layered, it didn’t matter what noodle type showed up. We also tried the cucumber salad, and it was a standout: crisp, high-quality cucumbers dressed in a light, tangy, slightly spicy marinade that felt like both a palate cleanser and a flavor bomb. One of our favorite parts? The homemade chili sauces left at every table. They’re not just condiments—they’re ceremonial. Smoky, spicy, and complex, they elevate every dish and feel like a love letter to Sichuan heat. The service is consistently warm and attentive, and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. CQ Noodles feels like a local secret—unpretentious, authentic, and full of heart. If you’re looking for a place that honors flavor over flash and delivers Sichuan comfort with every bite, CQ Noodles is it. I can’t recommend it enough.

Google
Got the beef rib noodle house special Flavor changed under new management More bland than I remember I got medium spicy and there was a lot of red oil, but it wasn’t spicy in a fragrant way They also used to serve suan mei tang by default but that’s gone now Cucumber salad was good

Panda Noodle is hands-down one of the best hidden gems when it comes to Chinese food. The noodles are fresh, chewy, and clearly made with care—and the broth? Unbelievably flavorful. Every dish feels like comfort food at its finest. Whether it’s their beef noodle soup or their spicy dan dan noodles, the flavors are bold without being overwhelming. The staff is warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere feels cozy yet modern. You can tell Panda Noodle takes pride in every bowl they serve. Highly recommend for any noodle lover!

Google
On a long Halloween night, we were searching for Asian food still open past 9 PM when we found CQ Noodle nearby. We were immediately greeted by (I believe) the owner, who gave us a very warm welcome and promptly seated our group of seven. We ordered a variety of dishes: their special beef rib noodles, fried rice, tomato beef noodles, shredded chicken, soup dumplings, and pan-fried dumplings. Everything was really good! They specialize in spicy food, but since we had kids with us, we opted for non-spicy options. I imagine the food would have been even more delicious if we'd been able to order it spicy. Regardless, their dishes have a wonderfully well-balanced taste. I would absolutely recommend CQ Noodle if you're in the area!

Google
Definitely recommend this place!! The noodle is really good and the price is not expensive. The people who are working here are nice and will ask you for feedback to their food. I will definitely come back again.

Google
Unfortunately not the same CQ noodle that I remember coming to last year, which was really quite good (ex: chongqing style noodles with peas) Menu has changed quite a bit and it’s much blander. We also had even some stir fried beef noodles that actually tasted funky/off, which we didn’t finish. Noodles themselves are okay and taste homemade, but the soups/sauces don’t seem to be very good anymore.

Google
Minimal table service. Dan Dan noodles lightly spiced as order, chicken with rice noodles delicate flavor with tiny amounts of chicken and vegetables., Delicious Shanghai pan fried dumplings hot upon delivery to the table. Complimentary cool sweet tea.

Yelp
Truly don't want to write a review like this, but I must for the sake of anyone looking for the old CQ Noodles that the neighborhood and broader SF community fell in love with. I'll try to keep it brief: New ownership, new staff, new MENU, same brand (what a shame to use the CQ Noodle name for an experience that is simply put, completely different). I used to get the DanDan noodle religiously and introduced alllll my friends to this wonderful little charming restaurant in the Richmond District that served complimentary plum juice, and had the most amazing hand cut noodles. This is no more. I repeat, this is no more. The reviews and score that you see here on Yelp are not an accurate reflection of this current establishment. The reviews pre-June(ish) are all for the original CQ that served amazing food. This place is just simply not it. I repeat, what a shame that they are using the same CQ Noodle name. Food is bland, and BORING, and nowhere near the quality it once had.

Yelp
Hurts my heart to write this because C.Q. was our favorite restaurant in the city before they closed. We went multiple times a week and they even knew our orders lol. We were SO excited to find out that they were soft opening again and were there on their first day to support. We were trying to give them the benefit of the doubt because we knew it was their first day but we pretty much immediately knew that it wasn't the same. First I'll talk about the service because this is easily fixable. They were all new, none of the original people, which is fine. New ownership, new staff, not a big deal. But then they brought us the wrong food 3 different times and couldn't understand each time we'd try to correct it. They brought us the wrong dumplings and when we corrected them, they still charged us for both. I was again trying to just be fine with it but eventually my mom finished her entire meal and they still told me "5 more minutes," just for them to bring the first incorrect dish they brought ... again lol. My eye was twitching at this point but I was still just so excited to be eating there again that I got over it. But now onto the food If you have been to the old C.Q., the broth was so flavorful, rich, and savory, the shanghai buns were perfectly crispy and juicy, and the noodles were very clearly hand cut (they were extra chewy and not uniform so you could tell they were truly knife cut). This time, it tasted like a completely different dish. My friend said it was 20% of the flavor they used to have and I agree. The broth had no flavor, the noodles were perfectly uniform and tasted pre-packaged, and the shanghai buns were not even slightly crispy and tasted frozen quality. We left so sad, feeling like the old C.Q. will only live on in our memory I would love to see them turn it around and bring it back closer to the glory that it once was. I am truly rooting for them because again, we were DEVASTATED when they closed at first. They said they're open to feedback since they're just soft opening, so hopefully they get more constructive feedback. We'll probably come back in a few weeks once they iron some stuff out and boil the broth down for longer or something lol. Hopefully we have positive updates!

Yelp
Despite super kitsch decor and "in due need of repairs" bathroom section, food is excellent and noodles taste very fresh. House noodles broth is delicious with a very generous beef portion. Overall great service and highly recommended place for no-nonsense and generous portions of noodles.

Yelp
Noodles are authentic. The restaurant is really quiet inside. Could be a good lunch spot!

Yelp
I had this bookmarked for a while since I saw many good things about it! Unfortunately, I didn't know there was an ownership change until I was pretty surprisingly disappointed in the noodle broth flavor and saw some other yelpers mentioning the ownership and possibly chefs changed. The noodles were good and chewy, but other than that it didn't have anything else going for it. Broth was super bland and wontons were too sweet. The cucumber salad lacked nuance besides a strong vinegar flavor. I'm giving some grace to the slow service since the staff seemed like they were still figuring some things out and they gave us the cucumber salad for free for waiting. Since I love Chongqing noodles, I'm really hoping they nail down a better recipe!

Yelp
We came here on a Saturday evening for a table of 7 and were seated right away. The restaurant itself is small, but was able to accommodate a good amount of groups. Service was also fast too. I got the house beef noodle soup with hand pulled noodles and it was delicious! The beef was tender and cooked in a way where the meat falls right off the bone. I got medium spice with my soup and it was hearty and flavorful. The braised pork slices is a must get as well. Tender cuts of pork with a good flavor to it! This place is definitely good if you're craving some Chinese food especially after a late night!

Yelp
I stopped by on a Friday for lunch since I was craving a steaming hot bowl of noodles. Even though the outside was low-key, the inside was decorated with bright pink flowers and planetary lights. Definitely not what I expected from a noodle place. After looking at all the options, I decided to order the 老鴨湯砂鍋米线 ChongQing Special Duck Mixian Soup ($15.95): +Mixian were perfect QQ texture: Not mushy and overcooked. -Even though the pot looked big, the portion wasn't a lot. As someone who often has leftovers, I felt a bit hungry afterwards. -Small amount of duck: Pieces were mostly bone and skin with little meat on them. -Broth was super greasy and salty: I ended up leaving it behind. Side notes: 1.) Complimentary juice provided. The server wasn't sure what type of juice it was, but it tasted like watered down suanmeitang AKA sour plum juice. 2.) Restroom available for customers *Verdict: Mid food with mid service. Tables who ordered after me all received their food before me, whether it was apps or noodles. After receiving the check, the server stood there like a hawk staring at me as I was filling out and signing my receipt. Wonder why they suddenly decided to be so attentive...

Yelp
Came here Tuesday night with my man. We were trying to grab dinner at another spot but they had a two hour wait.. I quickly looked up 'food' on Yelp and thought it be interesting to try this (without looking at their menu or photos). And it was delicious! I was craving hot (temperature) food all day. FYI - C.Q. stands for ChongQing. He got the ChongQing Style Roast Beef Noodle Soup - that came with knife shaven noodles. While I got the Shredded Pork with Fermented VegNoodles (it's not knife shaven noodles FYI) - it came in this special pot situation that kept the noodles piping hot all night - which did make it difficult to eat because it would burn my lips while eating or hot soup would splash on my lips. It was still boiling when it came out for awhile (the soup). It was really good. ^ I would recommend if you get this dish maybe to get this is share amongst with a lot of other side dishes/skewers/one other dish to try first while it cools down a bit. The server did warn me that this would be really spicy.. I don't think it was spicy in my opinion just hot. But my man did say it was 'spicy' hot with the oil in the noodle. He also choose chicken heart and gizzards skewers to share - they were really good! That might be the first time we've had chicken heart and I naturally don't gravite towards gizzards. Totes recommend both. The chicken hearts are a total winner for me; never realized how small they would be. Chewy but not overtly. We sat in the window corner. Quite a lovely spot. The bottom neon on lights came on mid-meal as it got darker which we weren't expecting - if you don't like being by bright lights - opt for inner seating if anything. Every table gets iced tea - I taste plum. My boyfriend thought it tasted like soda - like a flat coke. I disagree but maybe you can try this place out and let me know what the tea tastes like in your own review. I'd definitely come back.

Yelp
Delicious like advertised. Drawn in by the beef rib noodle, we were not disappointed. The heat level was good, not uncomfortable, and the broth was amazing. I took some of the soups home, but of course the noodles didn't keep. Still, the broth was still savory. We were distracted by the chicken wings, and they didn't come out before but a little after the soup. The texture was crispy, and the honey came through in the sauce. All six pieces were the middle wing part which I enjoyed. They automatically give you a cold sweet tea upon sitting down, but they will bring you water upon request. Parking in that area is a little tight, and we had to circle quite a bit.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places in San Francisco for noodles on a cold day that provides the numbing spice! Most recently, my friend and I came here on a weekend afternoon and were seated immediately. The restaurant had a short wait by the time we left, however. The mirrors that cover one wall of the restaurant allow for an illusion of a big space, making it seem very roomy. We ordered the House Special Beef Rib Noodle Soup, Braised Pork Slices, and Chongqing Style Pork Trotters Noodle Soup. Our orders came out in a timely manner, and we were more than full by the end of our meal and had to take leftovers. The braised pork slices were placed over many small mushrooms, and they were quite juicy! Although the beef rib soup was a bit difficult to eat with its large bones, the broth was delicious along with the seasoning of the beef rib. The pork trotters noodle soup had also good non-spicy broth that my friend and I finished first. On a cold winter day, this is the first restaurant that comes to my mind when I want a hearthy soup, and it will continue to be so!

Yelp
In 2023 I lunched at Chinatown's Chong Qing Xiao Mian. It's a hive of activity with perfunctory service and a questionable level of cleanliness but the food was really good (as my 4-star rating attested). I have no assurances but presume, given the name and menu, that C.Q. Noodles is, if not under the same ownership, at least somehow related. Here, though I had the same level of service and similar observations about the cleanliness of the space, I was less charmed by the food. Dan Dan Noodles, my order, are served dry in this location. They were chewier than expected and I missed the broth (as I'd had in the Chinatown location). They weren't bad but neither did they leave me raving. Steamed pork buns, ordered as a starter, were ample (4 to an order) but these too left me underwhelmed. It didn't feel like the food was bad here, only that it wasn't suited to my taste buds. The restaurant decor, with a (fake) floral ceiling arrangement, initially stunned in a good way but the longer I sat in the space different impressions arose. I understand things like an occasional dirty napkin on the floor, and perhaps some loose change, but the presence of multiple tables left uncleared long after diners departed left an overall negative impression of the space. Assuming they're in the same family, I'd opt for the Chinatown location of C.Q. every time.

Yelp
Omg this place was incredible!!! The noodles, the broth, the meat--all delicious. Well-priced and a really cute atmosphere for a tinier spot. Workers were so nice, and as I was a visitor, I would definitely stop here again if I visit the area. Highly recommend
google avatar

Reeva G.

Yelp
This place is heaven for my tastebuds. My partner was craving spicy noodles on a cold day and we stumbled upon C.Q. Noodles. We both ordered the Chong Qing Style lamb noodle soup. I have a low spice tolerance and made the mistake of getting mild the first time. I was chugging water but couldn't stop eating despite the spice--that's how good it is. The noodles are handmade, the lamb is so tender. They don't skimp on any of the ingredients! The second time we came here, I got no spice, and I was in much less pain. My partner however LOVES spicy food so he is able to manage. Although we live in the Sunset where there's Asian food on every corner, we come here at least once a month. These noodles are just that worth it. My only complaint: service can be slow--when we go, there's only been one waiter!
google avatar

Diane P.

Yelp
We initially stumbled upon C.Q. on a cold fall night, and it totally hit the spot! This is a sit down restaurant, but I wouldn't describe it as fancy. They were pretty busy for dinner, but it wasn't hard to get a table for 2 at all. We've since come here on several other occasions and it is consistently good! The house special beef rib noodle soup is so flavorful. Mild was a nice spice level to enjoy the meal. While I do enjoy spice normally, medium would have been a little too much for a whole bowl. The ChongQing Style Roast Beef Noodle Soup is also a great choice, if you don't feel like working your way around the rib. The pig ears are a nice side app. I always enjoy them! Service is quick and efficient. They pack your food very nice and securely. Parking is mostly street meters.

Yelp
Delicious noodles! This restaurant is located in the heart of the Richmond on Clement street. I went on a Sunday night for dinner, and there was no wait. This shop is a no frills, authentic Chinese noodle restaurant. Nothing fancy, just hearty noodle dishes! I ordered the spicy beef noodle soup, and it was very flavorful. The thick, hand pulled noodles soaked up the spicy soup making each bite a wonder. The beef was tender, soup was just the right amount of spice for me, and the noodles had a nice bounce to them. Would order this again! The meal also comes with complimentary tea fyi. I think it's a sort of plum tea drink - it's fairly sweet but a nice add on to the meal.

Yelp
7/7/24 Ordered the $15 house spicy beef noodle soup. Noodles were super chewy and soup was very flavorful Plenty of beef and very tender. Service was good it's run by a husband and wife. I loved the food here and the portion size was huge. Would definitely come again and try their other dishes. Tried their spicy intestine noodle soup which was also great. Also the food comes with a complimentary sweet tea which is 10/10 would come again

Yelp
A small shop on Clement, CQ offers a wide variety of both mixian (rice noodle) and daoxiao (knife shaved noodles) dishes. I order the shredded pork and pickled veggie shaved noodles, and was surprised by the tenderness of the pork and flavorful broth. My friend got the chicken rice noodles, but the meat was bony and not plentiful. I also got the shengjianbao (pan fried buns) which were more yeasty and bready/oily than I would've liked. Service is sweet! It was quite packed on a Saturday afternoon.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place after getting my nails done nearby. Dumplings and soup were so good! Very affordable and nice staff.

Yelp
Ordered the house special short rib noodle soup and it was so tasty! The beef fell off the bone and the soup was perfect. We can also choose the spicy level. I came right when they opened on the weekend and got seated immediately. They do get packed so I imagine that during peak times, they might have a line.

Yelp
We ended up picking C.Q. Noodles for for a quick din din on a random Thursday based on several Yelp pics and the stellar ratings... which worked out very well! Parking in the City is usually challenging, so good luck with that, luckily we didn't struggle. The venue was not big and the decor was interesting as well... a few different things going on. The service was brilliant! Both our phones were dying; at less that 20% and of course we forgot a charger or a battery pack. However, the gentleman taking our order charged both of our phones while we dined in! Such a relief. Mahalo! #SendNoods: ~ Fresh Soy Milk - 4/5 Sweet frothy, tasty. Yelp promotion: Free Soy Milk with check in! (July 2024) ~ HOUSE SPECIAL BEEF RIB NOODLE SOUP - 4/5 Some DELISH soup with delightfully chewy noodles and tender Beef Ribs that fall right off the bone...brilliant! ~ ChongQuing Style Roasted Lamb Meat Noodles - 4/5 Once again...some DELISH soup with delightfully chewy noodles and tender pieces of Lamb...also brilliant! I was surprised with the amount of Lamb pieces, they didn't skimp on anything. I found this place to provide great value and service with good food. I'd totally come back! One of my friends approved of this place, she loved it as well!

Yelp
Craved knife cut noodles and had this place bookmarked for a while. What stood out: * Carafe of sour plum drink for the table to open the palette * Homemade green numbing chilly sauce on the table (this was so good) * Knife cute noodles al dente and satisfying The food: Pickles veggies (this was an add on) and lamb with knife cut noodles - lamb was tender Special combo broth with knife cut noodles - flavorful broth Pork belly rice - rice came in a separate bamboo pot. Poke belly flavorful but less on the fatty side. Overall the food was decent but the portions on the smaller side even through it came in visually big bowls. Staff Friendly and happy to adjust spice levels. Patient in explaining the menu Ambiance Dim, not a lot of light and too quiet. Nothing turning on the lights or playing background music won't resolve. :) Surprisingly, they are dog friendly so there were a few dogs indoors.

Yelp
Great portions. Soups are delicious. I had the duck n my lady had the braised pork belly over white rice and bok choy. Significant amount of food that could be shared between two. Service was A1 and it was muy cute inside. I would do it again.

Yelp
Cozy small spot for spicy noodle soup and hand pulled noodles. Was very packed on a Wednesday evening around 7-8. Service was a bit slow but all the staff were very friendly -- it took a bit of time for the food to come out but it was piping hot and very comforting on a cold night! I liked the pork and cabbage dumplings a lot -- they tasted very homemade and had thick wrappers. The noodle soup was a good level of spice (I got mild) while also numbing. The soup was too oily for me though, and the beef was very tough and hard to chew. However, the hand pulled noodles were yummy and had great texture. Good price for a ton of food!

Yelp
What a great gem here in Richmond! Came on a Sunday night and there was no wait so we got seated right away. The inside is both colorful and classical looking and has a nice homey feel to it when dining in. We tried the House Special Beef Noodle soup which was incredible: the broth was clear, refreshing, flavorful, and piping hot. You can customize the spiciness. The noodles were not at all overcooked but very bouncy, chewy, and had a great texture and are exactly what you want out of this style of noodle. There was a few pieces of greens which added some nice crunch as are usually added to this type of dish. Lastly, you get two BIG beef ribs with plenty of meat still attached. It can be a little messy to eat (maybe avoid wearing a white shirt) but they're tender and easy to pull off the bone. They pair really well with the piping soup and the noodles. We also shared an order of the pan fried Shanghai buns which had delicious, spongy dough, a nice crispy underside, and plenty of seasoned meat inside. It was super hot and fresh. A bowl of noodles per person and 2 of the Shanghai buns (an order came with 4) was more than enough food per person. You also get this tea/juice for free that you pour yourself which is a nice complement to your meal. Overall a great meal and we'd definitely come back--especially considering there was no wait! The menu is huge, so just be careful not to eat with your eyes here because you could definitely order more than you can finish!

Yelp
The roast beef noodle soup was the most popular. Almost every table ordered it including ours. There were a ton of noodles!! Noodle pull! The shop is also cute and unassuming from the outside. There are signs announcing the place. But surprisingly, many different parties arrived and just kept on showing up even when we were done and leaving. It seems pretty popular!

Yelp
Not sure what changed, other than the revamped menu. But it's still delicious! Casual local spot.

Yelp
I ordered takeout from here and was very pleased with the house special beef rib. It might not have been my first choice of dish but I saw that most of the reviews and pictures from yelp had it so I wanted to give it a try. I decided to order directly from their website since the prices were a bit cheaper than Uber Eats. They tell you up front it will take 25 minutes to prepare but mine was ready in about 20. The beef rib melts off the bone and is full of flavor. I didn't indicate any heat on my order but it probably came with the regular heat. It wasn't too much for me since I like spicy foods, but beware if you are sensitive to heat. I found the heat to be very complimentary to the beef flavor but it does have a little kick. We also ordered some pork buns and those were super yummy. I saw some other reviews that said they were pretty light on the meat and heavy on the bao. I generally agree with that but the flavor of it was still super good. I think the review has potential to be a 5-star if we had dined in. If we go back, I think we will dine in. But it was still super good for takeout.

Yelp
Brought my friend here for lunch and decided to give it a try finding it on yelp. Parking can be an issue as I had to circle a few times even to just get metered parking. It is $2.25 an hour. We ordered: 1. House Beef noodle soup: the freshly cut noodles were SO delicious and perfectly cooked. They give two big beef bones with the soup that were super meaty. The broth was also super flavorful. I liked that they let you pick as well how spicy you want it as I don't really like any spicy. 2. Pan fried dumplings: the dumplings were pretty big. You get 4 for about $8. The filling was a bit skimpy but the actual bao itself was delicious that it didn't even need filling. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Overall, I really liked this place and the prices are very fair. I would definitely try it again.

Yelp
I came for lunch on a holiday so the restaurant was a bit busier. We were seated right away and that was really nice because we were really hungry. The decorations of the restaurant are a bit off and don't match but it is cute nonetheless. Now to the food, we ordered the House Special beef soup and the intestine soup. They both came out pretty fast but we were unfortunately not that impressed. The House Special soup didn't have much taste and it was very oily. The noodles were uneven cut so some were harder than others. The bones didn't have much meat but it was tender. The Intestine Noodle Soup had a better taste but it was also very oily and we couldn't drink much of it. It did have a good amount of intestine and they were properly cooked and the noodles were a bit better than the House Special Soup. Overall if I'm really craving spicy beef noodle soup and I don't want to drive to Chinatown then I would try it again but otherwise I wouldn't go out of my way.

Yelp
As of this week (7/28/25), the restaurant has been REOPENED after a staff break and some maintenance. Menu is slightly different and my favorite green hot sauce is no longer available.

Yelp
Hubs and I have been wanting to try this place for a while and finally made it over. Arrived at around 1pm on Sunday, and many of the tables were occupied but we were seated quickly. Steady stream of customers while we were there. There were a few things we wanted to try. The dandan noodles (mild) I ordered were the first to arrive. Mild still had a kick to it. I like the handmade noodles - perfectly chewy and the dish was quite flavorful. Hubs ordered the Chongqing Roast Beef noodles (medium) - Hubs enjoyed the texture of the noodles, too. He also noted that the beef was tender. Kiddo ordered the noodles with the pork intestines. He ate it all up but isn't a huge fan of the numbing chili oil. Pig ears were flavorful. The pan-fried buns were also good. However, like another reviewer mentioned, it is more fluffy than crispy. Appreciated that they bring complimentary cold tea (slightly sweet - very much like Lipton ice tea) to help cool the mouth after all the chili oil. Hubs and I enjoyed or meals and would return to try other items.

Yelp
Came here for dinner when visiting the Clement Street Heart of the Richmond market. The restaurant is small, packed and really busy. It took a few minutes for the server to come to our table but once ordered, the food came quickly. A unique thing about this restaurant is that instead of water, they provided a carafe of chilled sour plum tea which was really refreshing and thirst quenching. We all ordered noodles dishes which came piping hot. You can request for less spice if desired and add spice if needed using the chili oil on the table. We all ordered knife-cut noodles and they were chewy and bouncy. My soup was flavorful and perfectly numbing but a bit too salty for me. I had the roasted chicken noodles and the meat was juicy and tender. If you check in on Yelp, you can get a free glass of iced soymilk. The soymilk was so good!

Yelp
A solid place for Chongqing style food. The beef rib noodle soup and dried peas and mixed meat noodle is a must try here. The noodles are hand cut and perfectly chewy. The soup is filled with flavor and has great flavor depth. The service can be slower when it's crowded, but it's overall good. There's a refreshing plum juice that they serve as well. The pan fried buns were a miss - too doughy, not enough meat, and not too crispy. The dumplings here are a bit too doughy for me as well. The Dan Dan noodles are quite nice. A small warning - the noodle soups served in the heat preserving bowls are usually way too hot to eat right away. You need to wait a good amount of time for it to cool down to comfortably eat (especially if you order very spicy!). Takeout is quick and you can order easily on their website.

Yelp
Came here for lunch and was seated right away and greeted with iced tea. I ordered noodles and the wontons in broth, and both were delicious. My buddy ordered the Dan Dan noodles and some Shanghai beef dumplings, which were also delicious. The atmosphere was a bit lacking. There wasn't any music and it was a bit musty, but that won't stop me from coming back. The food was very good.

Yelp
My bf and I decided to visit C.Q. Noodles again because we wanted soup noodles. It's been awhile and we thought our last visit was pretty good, so we were expecting some great dishes like last time, but unfortunately, we were very disappointed. FREE RANGE CHICKEN MIXIAN SOUP ~ I used my chopsticks to see what was in my bowl and there wasn't much. It was a neck bone and more bones with very little meat. Honestly, I didn't get in a real bite of chicken. There were more bones! Noodles were thin and a small handful that would feed a child. Thankfully, I wasn't starving. And the broth was pretty salty. Was this supposed to be just soup? Definitely ordered wrong. 2/5 CHONGQING STYLE ROAST BEEF MIXIAN SOUP ~ A few chunks of beef with a little bit of noodles. Temperature was near boiling and doesn't cool off. Salty and spicy soup. 2/5 BRAISED PORK SLICES WITH PRESERVE MUSTARD GREEN ~ this dish at least had enough, but was also salty. 3/5 Unfortunately, not everyone can handle the amount of sodium that was consumed that your hands start to shake! And the temperature was SO hot that it took forever to finish a small bowl of noodles. My bf still being hungry, decided to order braised pork slices with preserved mustard greens. From what he said, that too was very salty. I didn't bother trying it as I didn't want to be extra thirsty all night nor my blood pressure to skyrocket. Sadly, I don't think we'll be back.

Yelp
Pork intestine noodles and pork ears were delicious. The roast beef noodle soup was a little too hot but the flavor was good. No complaints about service. I enjoyed the plum juice they give out too!

Yelp
The restaurant is decorated very nicely and the food was solid! The spicy wontons and beef rib noodle soup were very good in terms of taste and value. The braised pork over pickled cabbage portions were small for the price. The braised beef over rice was tender and flavorful. I like that the restaurant is open relatively late for SF. They also give complimentary iced sweet tea (the tea did not match my flavor profile but to each their own).

Yelp
i've been here 3 other times since spring of this year (2024) before this visit, but i SWEAR i already reviewed this place - i wish id done it sooner ‍ but i think the multiple visits throughout this year as a relatively new customer helped me really decide how i truly felt about this restaurant. and its a real inexpensive hidden gem! i think this place has the best hand pulled noodles in the richmond district (so far) - it has the perfect chew and there's usually a fair portion of them in every noodle bowl they serve. and i know this is a noodle restaurant but dude they do NOT play around with their chicken wings. the sauce is soooo caramelized and has the perfect crunch - i truly think it is 2nd to San Tung's famous dry rub as best wings in the city. no cyap no kizzy it's delicious u NEED to get this other notes: the service is ALWAYS so quick (don't expect a warm smile and small talk with the server, he gets right down to business), which definitely helps imo. the interior design of the restaurant is alsovery homely (one of the walls said "all our guests are rich" which i thought was adorable) but i only used the bathroom once because it's.. very small.

Yelp
with the cold San Francisco weather, I was in search of a warm comforting bowl of soup. I was happy to come across this little hole in the wall sichuan style noodle shop. we ordered a beef noodle soup and dan dan noodles. really enjoyed the crispy peas that were added to the dishes. The noodles were so chewy and well-made. I don't think I've ever had better hand torn noodles. There was a good amount of beef in the beef noodle soup and the broth was so perfect with a deep flavor. The spot is especially convenient to those visiting Golden Gate Park.

Yelp
Takeout review: Got the signature beef noodles and WOW I couldn't stop eating. These really hit the spot. Texture of the noodles were great and the meat fell right off the bone. My one complaint is that it's pretty oily. Would be interested in dining in soon.

Yelp
Oof. CQ on clement is a find for stunningly numbing food, and I say oof because I've been on a mission to find the best szechuan and hunan food in the city and east bay for years, and places like Z&Y, wojia, spices 3 have made a strong case (CQXM has frankly fallen in standards), and I feel (recency bias aside) that I haven't a bowl of dan dan noodles as good anywhere as at CQ. It was spicy and generously showered with peppercorn, and the helping of tofu was unique and a great idea, it soaked the spice up, like it does in a nice hot pot where it's a staple ingredient. The flatter noodles were also a nice touch, as compared to routine thin ones (maybe inspired by Shaanxi-style noodles). The ambience was pleasing too, unique hangings on the walls and a hole in the wall cozy feeling (but then half the spots in richmond feel homey). Can't wait to be back.

Yelp
it was sooooo gooddd! Will come again! My friend invited me and other 2 friends to eat here for dinner. The noodles are spicy (my favorite), the plum drink was so satisfying after each bite of spicy noodles, and the bao is good too :))

Yelp
Don't get me wrong, the food is good here. The noodles have a good texture, the soup hit the spot. However, the cons outweigh the pros so I had to lower my rating. Firstly, they don't give you water unless you ask for it. There was only one person working the front, so it was very hard to get his help. Secondly, we waited 20 minutes to get our orders in, and 30 to get our food. The table next to us ordered, ate, AND left before we even got our food. I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt and think it's because it was later at night so they were short staffed. I do appreciate the reasonable prices and the fact the iced tea is free. I'll have to try this place again during the day to see if there's differences.

Yelp
The noodles are the signature of this restaurant. It's al dente. Chewy. The spice level is mild, but I see red chili bits. This time, it was mild, but the redness in the broth still reflected a tiny spice. The lamb noodles were good. Lamb was flavorful. The braise chicken had really good potatoes. I'm not a fan of saltiness of the chicken. It reminded me of soy sauce chicken bites. I liked everything except for the chicken. It came with a big container of rice and a plate of the best cabbage with oil and salt. The mushroom was flavorful with the chicken. The gizzard skewers were spicy. My eating mate loved it. It made me cough while swallowing the spiciness. I couldn't eat it. Portions are huge. Nice service. They give you plum juice. I forgot to check in on yelp for free soy milk.

Yelp
date visited: 09.22.2024 ordered: chongqing style roast beef noodles i loved the vibes here -- cozy, hole in the wall and very comforting. the service was very friendly and smiley :) hand pulled noodles are always so nice on a cold day. these were appropriately mala and savory, and the noodles were very chewy and qq. the beeef was so tender and the bites of beef they gave were really big. the crunchy chickpeas added for nice texture in the soup. the bowl itself was so filling, i only finished half and took the rest to go. the broth itself was a bit too oily for my taste but i think it was because i asked for extra spicy(?)

Yelp
I will say inside is gorgeous and the atmosphere is cute and the picture. Food was cute as well. I think to help improve I would say they should give us ice water. The room temperature arizona tea wasn't complimenting our spicy soup. Meat was yummy.

Yelp
One of the best beef noodle/Chinese food places I've been to in a long time. I visited here with a friend recently and we were both amazed by the quality of food that we were presented with. The noodles were bouncy and chewy, the soup was hearty and flavorful, and the overall bowl did not lack meat or any other add ons. Food quality alone makes this place a 5 star instantly. Some last notes about the rest of the space. The restaurant is pretty spacious but definitely not large so definitely plan around that. Also, service wasn't the greatest but with food this good, that's a pass in my book. Come for the food, stay for the good vibes, and enjoy this amazing noodle place!
