Crab du Jour

I gave 2 stars because of the service, excellent customer service. The food is 1/5 stars. The corn is frozen corn, not a fan of the “mush texture”. And corn is in season so it doesn’t make sense to have frozen. I ordered the signature sauce in mild and it had no flavor depth, there is lots of room for improvement, as far as flavor. The shrimp was good size and cooked perfectly, BUT there were veins left in some of the shrimp, cleaning and properly prepping shrimp before cooking is important. Not happy with this quality of food in my neighborhood. I will continue to drive to Braintree for seafood boil.

I ordered the oyster basket. There were crispy fried nothings. If I weren't tired I would have marched across the street and returned them. Should have known when I called they said 10 minutes instead of 25 or so. The oysters were burnt. Sweet potato fries at least had taste. All set.

i don't usually bother to write reviews for food that i purchase but this was so bad that had to. I bought the Fried Shrimp basket with French fries for $13.95 at the Hyde park branch in Boston. the Shrimp tasted like they took it out of the freezer, defrosted it, coat with flour and then deep fry. it tasted like nothing. the French fries were ok thought

The crabmeat fries were originally breaded crab meat which is fine, i like them like that. However the last time I ordered them i got french fries with crab meat on top. This discrepancies needs to be make noticeable on the menu when ordering. The shrimp was good just with they take the shell off the shrimp, the crab legs were a decent size and the clams as well.

The seafood and fries are super tasty and prepared well. Kudos to the chefs! The cashiers and staff are friendly and accommodating, so overall its a nice experience when visiting Crab du Jour often. The place is well cleaned and have seating arrangements for in dining. I like the fact I can order through Grubhub and Doordash if necessary as well. My faves are the catfish and shrimp basket!

The food is great, the customer service is great I didn’t give 5 star due their greed. I’ve been a few times, the cashier switches, but both time there has been a young man of color. Out of curiosity I questioned about the TIP (as I TIP well) I was told that the cashier(s) DO NOT receive the tip the owner (s), cook, staff in the back do. I think that is very SELFISH for them to keep the tip(s). As the greeter and the cashier he too should be able to receive TIPS.

Absolutely gross. I got the catfish plate and the crab leg fries. The catfish was gross as it was not fresh and the grease tasted old. I thought the crab fries would be fried crab meat; it's regular fries covered in crab crumbles. It tasted ok(1 star) but will not be trying again.

Awful! The portions are generous but only good if the food TASTES Good. We we had fried oysters and French fries, naked lemon pepper wings, crawfish in mild crab du jour sauce, and family bag with shrimp , lobster, clams in medium garlic butter sauce. The best items were the french fries and wings even though the wings tasted like plain fried wings without lemon pepper. Shrimp overcooked and the sauces were bland and pretty much tasted the same with an odd sweet flavor 🤮Thought we would give this new local place a try. What a waste of money. So disappointing. I will be returning to Shaking Seafood for seafood bags.
