The food is incredible! We ordered about 7 or 8 items off of the menu and everything was wonderful. The ribs are tender and that barbecue sauce is out of this world. There is a very small cute dining so be open to getting carry out. The staff were all AMAZING! Very friendly. Very thoughtful service.

The food was good as hell I had got me and my girl the 2 for $35 special. We had the crab leg dinner (garlic plate). The look-aid was good to. I highly recommend it’s a good spot to eat at. We will be back for sure. (compliments to the chef).

Tried the chicken pasta it was so watered down with no flavor other than that Cajun they put on top. Went back to try the hibachi fried rice an didn't know I was paying $25 for dirty rice with fatty steak I couldn't chew an chicken. 4/10

My daughter and I had the steak dinner with garlic sides. The food was amazing and we met the rapper Trina there that day. She took pictures with us and she was really pleasant.

The Mac N Cheese needed more cheese and flavor. I also wished the container was full to the top for "$7. The greens werent bad but needed less salt and more flavor. We also ordered a side of seafood boil sauce... not.bad In a clutch

Went in for dinner. To say this was disappointing would be an understatement. Maybe it’s cause I’m from Jersey and I’m used to real soul food but this was all the way terrible. They got 1 star cause their customer service was good. That’s about it. I got jerk chicken fried rice. The rice was terrible. Tasted like someone just doused seasoning on top of rice last minute. Chicken was undercooked and tough and tasted like someone took it out of a fridge, slapped some jerk sauce on it and grilled it with the rice. I know a 8 year old who can do a better job. Don’t waste y’all time till they get a better cook and shorter menu

Friday's are really busy. But I'd call ahead and order. It's definitely worth it. I first came here in 2012 and will definitely be back. Everything is delicious and fresh and it's black owned. Very nice to have such delicious food close to home

Death in the family. Relative ordered us Crab Boils, Chicken tenders, Oysters, Greens, Mac & Cheese and Kool Aide. Everything was fire. A few days later I ordered some Garlic Rib tips and some Crawfish with Corn. Today I want more Oysters. I've found a new love 15 minutes away from me.

I asked for a large potato, I got a regular box that you get for the daily special. I'm irritated & won't be getting that again because what did I just pay $20 for when I could've got the $12 one with same portion!

I went out on the limb and ordered non seafood from a seafood restaurant and actually I liked it!!! I had the turkey chops with 2 sides. The turkey was very tender and flavorful, as for the sides I'd say you could've applied a little more love on the stove cooking these greens! They are still tough and lack soooo much of flavor. The potato was decent it's nothing to order again, just a smashed up spud with a lot of butter. I would try some different sides but for sure the turkey is a hit!!!

I ordered chicken and shrimp Alfredo that I paid $27 for I can get bigger shrimp in my shrimp fried rice from the Chinese food. Restaurants food was overseas sauce wasn't creamy. It was pasty never going back.

The food was horrible and I would never go back again. I ordered the oxtails which were not clean. They had so much fat and were extremely small. No gravy. The oxtails and macaroni and cheese were so heavily season that it blew out my taste buds. This was $22.00 and wasn't worth the cost.

Some of the best food in the City! Located on 7 mile just east of Evergreen with limited street parking. Once you enter you notice the smallness of the place with booths lining the right side and a cooking area secure by plexiglass on the left of a narrow walkway. I usually carry out but have also eaten in. You are immediately greeted by a smiling face and friendly voice that is eager to take your order. The menu choices are CRAZY GOOD from barbecue ribs and chicken (the real kind), to charbroiled lamb chops and steak, to crab legs and shrimp! There are many southern favorites for those who are craving some good soul food. All served with their special recipe garlic potatoes on the side. Not to mention my absolute favorite - the Alfredo potato. This bit of heaven can be topped with seafood, chicken or steak (or any combo of these including all 3) to create the most amazing goodness. My pick is crab and shrimp! And you can top it all off with a nice big glass of Koolaid. If you want some great tasting food that is made fresh to order, then the Crab House is the place.

I was treated here for my birthday. I highly enjoyed the food, but the service was just ok. It wasn't a full boil but satisfied my craving! I'd probably go back for another round in the hopes of good food & good service.

Best Alfredo I ever had out of any restaurant they cook with love and the prices are very affordable and well worth it this is a place you should definitely head too if you want to taste good food!

Love this place. Always an easy fix to my crab cravings. Everything is seasoned well and very filling. Hard getting them on the phone sometimes for carry out orders, but once the order is placed they get the food out in a timely amount of time which is great. These are pretty decent sized crab legs too! You get a good amount for the price you pay here. Can't wait for another late night crab craving.

Food was very good I tried the salmon and shrimp Alfredo and it was delicious ! They give you nice portion size and it's very delicious and tasty !

Oh No! I really hope the Crab House was just having a bad day when I ordered on Sunday. I called in and ordered a shrimp and chicken potato alfredo and a kool aid; a pretty standard order. When I go there to pick it up, it was ready, I paid and I left, eagerly awaiting my tasty treat. I get my meal home and take my first bite...and it tastes burnt. Maybe it was just one bad bite...I tried another...burnt. I scrutinize every component of the dish to try and determine what the burnt flavor is coming from and I think it was the shrimp, but nonetheless, it tasted burnt and I couldn't finish it. I was pretty unhappy because I really had a taste for this meal and it cost me over 15 dollars. For that much money spent on a carryout, I want it to be of the same high standard I have come to expect from the Crab House. I have definitely not given up on the Crab House and I love the friendly service and amazing owner of the establishment...but I hope next time I order my favorite dish, it is prepared with the same care and attention I have come to expect from this great restaurant.

Best food I've had in a LONG time . Recommended by a friend - me and my two best girl friends (one pregnant ) went here Saturday early afternoon to fill my girls crab craving . It was our first time. After walking in we were told where to go to the back to dine in.... such a great little area nice new and clean .... not what you would expect from the outside appearance . We all ordered the Alfredo potatoes with crab and shrimp and got various sides as well as both baked and fried tilapia and kool aid ! It was seriously amazing and portions were great : we had absolutely no complaints. Service was great and friendly . Can't wait to go back.

Diamond in the rough. This place was a pleasant surprise so please check it out for yourself. When you enter it looks like a standard Mom & Pop where you get takeout or can sit in limited booth style seating. A nice woman greeted us and asked if we were dining in. When we said yes she told us to go through the doorway and sit anywhere we'd like. The other side of the restaurant was very nice. Spacious, mirrors, large tables and a tv. We sad down and looked over the extensive menu. The young lady was nice and explained the best values for the food we wanted. The food was delicious. I had grilled tilapia, shrimp, baked potato and corn on the cob. The potato could have been cooked a bit longer but it was seasoned to perfection so I ate every bit of it. The price was right. 3 of us ate for $51 and we had great portions. I will definitely be back to try other dishes.

Regular readers of my reviews have probably identified a bit of a theme around divey, neighborhood spots that really allow a peek into the soul of a city. Crab House on 7 Mile is one such place. Crab house employs a "Southern Style boil" or pot cooking where seafood delicacies are seasoned and boiled together. While this is their signature, fried seafood catch is also available. Many combination options are available to help you make just the right pairing. On this visit we enjoyed Crab Legs and Salmon, Crab Legs and Ribs, and 1/4 lb of shrimp, served with their signature sides - cajun spiced potato and corn on the cob, along with a surprise boiled egg (which is very tasty by the way). I took the food to go, warmed in the oven for just a couple minutes, and we were all set. Restaurant was clean and efficient. The servers were very friendly. I noticed that as parties left the dining area, they were all thanked for their patronage, and expressions of appreciation such as "I hope everything was to your liking" were plentiful. I have seen some reviews reference the location. It is in Detroit. This strip of 7 Mile looks like what most of Detroit looks like. Get over it, make it better, and stop being afraid to patronize local businesses. There is much to see in Detroit, if you just look around. :-)

This place received an extra star because the manager, she was the one who took my order and she was super nice and she kept the line moving. FOOD I ordered the half pound of grilled shrimp dinner. I got 8 shrimp total. The shrimp was ALMOST done, not totally. My main issue with the food was they smothered all the food in the same seasoning it taste like some kind of creole seasoning but they call it garlic. They put it on the bake potatoes, the egg, the shrimp, and the corn. I hated this "garlic" seasoning it was spicy and funny tasting. I don't think I will be going here again. Restaurant The outside looks much better than the inside. The interior is one semi long shack , with booths on one side and a long bulletproof glass counter on the other side with a thin strip to walk between the two. The glass needs cleaning ASAP. Credit card/debt card If you use plastic you got to show your I'd Extra prices This is one of those places were they charge you extra for everything. The girl in front of me wanted some butter it was .50 extra. My meal came with potatoes and corn. I asked can i swap the potatoes for Mac and cheese that's $1.50 extra.

Always get the garlic rib tips along with the house sides. Great combination. Definitely can't go wrong with the Salmon salad as well.

The food quality is amazing. Service is amazing. Dinning room is really nice. But the food is really really good. My gf and I went there just last night 11/08/18 for first time. I ordered shrimp Alfredo pasta and she got the chicken scallops. Both were amazing and we going back again ya'll. Ay, this's Moe, the guy who didn't know about dinning room until it was too late

Five stars all around. Phenomenal service. I love Julia! They are very prompt and address all complaints with urgency. This is a rare find in a "one size fits all world." I have had just about everything on the menu. Turkey leg, chicken wings, crab, shrimp, chicken and even a rib tip (rarely consume pork) and it was all delicious. You must try the suicide kool-aid---Ridiculous! Listen up! Don't expect a maître d to escort you to your table but do expect phenomenal service and a meal served to your expectations!

My sister introduced me to this place on one of my visits to Detroit and I've made it my mission to stop by there every time I visit. There's nothing on the menu we've had that we're didn't like. The potatoes are huge and stuffed with whatever you fancy; chicken, seafood, or both! You will have enough left over for another meal which is great because it tastes even better the next day! The lamb chops are melt in your mouth, tender, buttery deliciousness. Lawd! I wish I was there right now. I wanted to take some home with me and they obliged. They packed my food up for travel and it was still just as good and fresh when I got home as it would have been at the restaurant. I'll keep going back and recommending this place to anyone who's looking for a tasty meal.

Detroit has so many wonderful dining restaurants, but if you're from out of town you don't know where to begin. My brother recommended The Crab House on W 7 Mile Rd. We decided to do a take out. We ordered the snow crab legs, shrimp, and turkey necks with sides of potato and collard greens. Everything was absolutely delicious. I live in Texas and their snow crab legs tasted as if they got them fresh from the waters of Corpus Christi. They were cooked to perfection. For those who do not wish to partake in red meat try their turkey necks. I never thought to have them as an entree; usually just use them to season while cooking greens. We received a generous portion of the turkey necks. They were very tender. We received plenty of the grilled shrimp. The cooks there certainly know what they're doing. I gave this restaurant 4 out of 5 stars because I have yet to experience the sit down dining experience inside. I hope to do that the next time I visit Detroit. They also have a restaurant in Warren and I heard it is very nice inside along with their same delicious food.

The adventure started outside when we decided to circle the block because there were 2 pit bulls running loose with no owner in sight. It had nothing to do with the restaurant but be alert. As I entered the establishment someone behind the bulletproof glass shouted, "Eating here or carry out?" Since my sister and I were dining in we were instructed towards the glass door straight down and and told to turn right. This is where the dining area is and it wasn't bad. There was one other patron eating and they have a TV on the wall. Our waitress was nice and quite courteous. She explained the menu and the process they use to smoke the chicken and ribs and went on to explain the soft drink choices, including the Kool-Aid selection. Nice!!!! My sister couldn't resist. I wanted some seafood but after listening to the waitress I had to try the Ribs and Chicken combo. My sister decided to get the same. I upgraded to a side of greens and she upgraded to both the greens and macaroni and cheese which was a dollar extra for each item. Our meal arrived rather quickly. It was room temperature at best which was a bit scary and quite disappointing since we were eating pork. Although both the ribs and chicken had a good flavor I was still bothered that it wasn't hot. (I know you are thinking I should've sent it back but I'm leery about doing that). The greens were bland but my sister's Mac and cheese tasted good. As I was finishing my meal I lifted up my bowl of greens from my plate and underneath the bowl on my plate was a long, black, wet hair. I immediately stopped chewing but my sister might have been more disgusted. She stopped eating too. I informed the waitress and she took my plate immediately. She brought my bill and informed me I received a discount. It was a measly $2.50. Our meals were $16.99 each before the upgrades. So yes this place is quite expensive for what you receive They had a chance to rectify my issue but they blew it. They obviously didn't care. Needless to say, I won't be back.

This place is just heavenly! The food is delicious! Second time being here and I can't get enough!

Where do I begin...lets start with the service. The service is as great as the food, I appreciate a polite, informative staff that smiles. SMOKED Turkey LEG is MUST GET!!! If there is one thing you have to try it is this leg, yes the crab is phenomenal but oh my Allah that smoked, succulent fall off the bone turkey leg has me salivating right now. I ordered the pasta with homemade alfredo, mm mmmm mmmmm. It came with a mountain of sauteed onions, bell peppers and mushrooms not to mention the CRAB, SHRIMP, grilled Chicken and Scallops. I ate this for 2 days. The homemade strawberry cheesecake was so delicious. It is airy, light creamy whipped deliciousness. Next time I am getting the Oreo and Red Velvet(they were out). Thanks Antionette, Charles and Eric I had an amazing experience and an even better meal.

3/10/20 is when I purchase the crab legs very disappointing! Too salty I've eaten there before different seasoning...Don't know if it was a different cook or they being cheap with the seasoning!

Great service, very welcoming feeling from I believe her name was Annie,made us feel welcome as soon as we walk in the door. Great prices for the quality of seafood they serve it's a great deal. The service was fast got us in our in less then 20 mins. Next time I will call ahead . I had the salmon and crab leg combo and it was so Delicious. The crab legs was good in size. The egg they include in that and the corn is OMG. My brother had the shrimp dinner it was seasoned to perfection. Definitely will be adding this place to my take out rotation.

Don't know about other crab house this one is shitty lies about what Time they close because they don't want to no work.saying they close at 8 when it clearly close at 10 pm but ok this why I hate living in Detroit useless as city

Came to this place a few years ago because my mom heard someone talking about it on the radio. It's a small place, good amount of seating. Ordered the crab and shrimp dinner..Comes with corn, a couple potatoes and a roll. They use a cajun garlicy rub on everything and its much to be desired! Great portions, very chill place.

Noemally the food is really good. However, I ate the salmon the other day and had food poisoning.

I heard good reviews and wanted to try it. I got the catfish dinner and it was great! Seasoned perfectly and not salty. The mac and cheese was creamy and green beans were good. My aunt got shrimp and chicken and she enjoyed it. We will be back! Ps. Prices were reasonable too.

When the napkins quality it better then the food! Crab legs are really small and skinny. I would never go back waste of money! You will still be hungry after spending 20 dollars there! Ordered the crab, potato and corn which was a very small amount!

One of the worst if not the worst restaurant/shops I've ever been to. I'm not a person to judge a book by its cover if you know what I mean but this was horrible. The prices are a little high unless you get the combos. And when I got my bag of crab legs combo it didn't come with the eggs like it was suppose to. I was expecting butter to dip in my crab but it was more like hot sauce water. The thing that topped it off was the little bug like things all over my crab. NOT GOOD!

Although I've never been to the actual restaurant I've ordered from them online multiple times. Their oxtail dinner with its sides is great. A friend has ordered the talapia and he said it was very tasty as well. I have ordered other items off their menu and they all tasted wonderful.

Best hidden gem EVER. The food is inexpensive and absolutely delicious. The sides are abundant and perfectly seasoned. Me and my wife tried lots of different things off the menu and left stuffed. I wish I could give this place more stars. Best crab ever.

This place is 7 minutes from where I'm staying but it took almost 3 hours to get to me. I used Seamless to order takeout from here at 4:30 and expected my food to arrive within the delivery window. After an hour of waiting I called and they told me the food was on its way. At two hours, I contacted Seamless, who called the restaurant and let me know the food was "now on its way." The food finally arrived just after 7. When I asked the delivery guy what happened, he said he didn't get a call to pick up the order until 6:30. That means every time they said the food was on the way they were lying to us. It wasn't even ready yet. Why lie? Why not just be professional? After the many hours, they wouldn't even apologize and they refused to refund me.

I always have the turkey necks! I'm hooked! However, due to the neighborhood it's in, I do not go anymore. I wish they would move or open another location. Great food. Don't go alone!

It's good, I got the ribs and shrimp with macaroni & cheese and green beans. I got this to go. I ordered Texas toast but did not receive it, and did not get the potatoes on the side. It was good, though having missing items in my order was a bit disappointing. It was tasty though, the rib was cooked nicely with smoke flavors. The shrimp were a bit overcooked, but still tasted good. Green beans were just like I remember my mother making them and the macaroni and cheese had great cheese flavor with a lot of pepper. I think I liked the mac and cheese the most.

Placed my order on DoorDash and my order took forever to make.. just received my order and it's not what I paid for smh ‍.. my DoorDash receipt and Crab House both confirmed Crab and Shrimp Alfredo but I received COLD Chicken and Shrimp Alfredo.. highly disappointed and unsatisfied .. I don't eat meat and they're already closed so I just wasted $18

Excellent food, great service from the waitress. The portions are huge, so don't order the large size unless you are sharing. The prices appear a little high until you see firsthand how much crab and shrimp they bring to you! The food was seasoned to southern coastal perfection. The drinks are also very large, which is a good thing. The restaurant was not easy to spot. I almost ended up going elsewhere because it is a small storefront and I drove right past it. The inside is much larger though with an adjacent storefront as their dining room. The dining room was pleasant and comfortable. They were out of the desert I wanted, which is a double shame because I wasn't even considering desert until our waitress told me there was banana pudding cheese cake. I was bummed out when she recommended it and then it was not available. There you have the good and the bad, four stars because it was great food but there is room for improvement in some other areas. I will be back, I will order the small size portion, and I hope they have the desert when I get there!

This place is amazing! best crab place around, the sauce isn't what i'm used to but it was good. the quality of crab was top tier. the only problem was my hot level wasn't hot.

Used UberEats to order crab and shrimp Alfredo Potatoe and salmon salad... food was amazing! There was a mix up and I received a chicken and shrimp potatoe they went above and beyond to correct the mistake and personally delivered my correct order.

I'm ALWAYS satisfied when I dine here! Sometimes it can be a bit busy, which could prolong the service however it's worth waiting for. The customer servicing is always just great and there's always someone to check on you! I haven't had everything on the menu but with what I've had thus far, I'm sure there isn't one disappointing item they serve!! I'm always a happy camper when leaving!

Let me just say this....I'm from the south born and raised. Right from Arkansas. So yeah my BBQ and SEA FOOD standards are high. Everyone kept telling me about this place. So I finally went.. drove all the way from Ann Arbor ..My brother and his wife, order the same exact thing. The lobster tail with upgraded sides Mac and cheese and potatoes. Total cost was $85. I order the fried catfish plate with upgrade side Mac and cheese and corn. Total $15. I got one serving piece of extra small catfish. Smh the Mac and cheese tasted like dish water mixed with garlic. The corn was drowned in butter, salt and garlic. Perhaps maybe dish water too. My brother plates was no where near worth $85. You guys should know better. Barely any meat on the lobster tail. Super small. They didn't even finish the Mac and cheese. The mashed potato they got was not good no taste. The only thing they liked was the shrimp and we could've cooked it better at home. The costumer service was ok. I guess that's what reflects the 1 star review. So southern ppl don't waste your time. You'll be highly pissed.

As you walk in they greet you immediately! That was good. We decided to eat in. Each table had a TV. Ok but I go to talk with my friends. I guess that's nice if you are alone. We had to ask for a lunch menu even though it was lunch time. We ordered the BBQ wings as a appetizer. But we got it off the lunch menu for $2 more it came with the signature potatoes, boiled egg and corn. The wing were delicious! The whole thing was delicious. We then ordered off the dinner menu. I got garlic ribs and shrimp. Lots of flavor. But I should've ordered 2 different lunches off the the lunch menu would've been cheaper. They are very nice and everyone speaks. One of the owners sat down with us and chit chatted. That's was nice he was also very personal with his regular customers. They are a bit pricey but I would return for the wings. I think that they are very very good.

Eating the food here made me happier than seeing I maintained a 4.0 GPA for my first year of college.
