Crab King Cajun Boil & Bar

I would surely give them a zero for how they handled giving me rotten potatoes in my food. They only wanted to refund me a few dollars after having rotten food in my seafood bag. Not to mention, the female I talked to was very rude and acted like it was my fault they gave me rotten food. When I called, I was told a manager wasn’t on duty twice and when I called the following day, I was told a manger wasn’t there for the third time and only can be compensated a few dollars. First, how is this place open and a manager is never present. I felt this was a lie. Also, I would never eat here again and I had a friend stated she never goes here anymore because her food had a bug inside. I wish she would have told me because obviously they aren’t sanitary. Eat here at your own risk.

I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the Cajun and garlic butter sauce and it was really good. The shirt was a little overcooked, but I think that just comes with the territory. My kids had the crab clusters and they were large and cooked correctly and the sausage was great. I ordered the lemon drop, and they also had a strawberry daiquiri at the table . The drinks were not weak! We were there on a Saturday and we seated pretty quickly. Our server Ophelia was great so overall a good experience. . I only gave three stars for atmosphere because the rooms are dark.

I forget our waitress name but she seem to be working the bar and taking care of tables. Although, it wasn't that busy service was a bit slow because of this. They offer specials that are not on the menu and if you do order off the menu depending on if you get the daily specials you can only order 1 of each item. I will say the flavor was good. I did ask for extra spicy and it wasn't spicy to me at all. My only complaint is we sat near the bar and you can see the TV. Someone decided to play videos via YouTube. The videos were inappropriate for a kid.

If you're looking for a scrumptious crab boil, this is the local place for you and your family! My first time here and it did not disappoint. I came here on a friday evening after 7p and it was crowded but the waitress was exceptional and did not have us waiting long in between orders. The sitting wait time was only 20 minutes. I will be back again! The king crab special was worth the price.

Ordered food through the door dash app, when I called and complained about there being a weird black substance in my food I was told this this is normal and nothing could be done because I ordered through the 3rd party app. This is unacceptable every muscle in my bag had this black substance inside. Also found shrimp shells in my food although I never ordered shrimp….very disappointing

This was my first time visiting and was pleasantly surprised! This place may not look like much, located in a strip mall. The place was HUGE! It was clean and had a variety of sections (my guess is this was originally a buffet?) but this lent itself to plenty of space and I saw they easily accommodated large parties. Now, this is kind of a no frills place - but given the food they serve, it's to be expected! The tables were lined with paper to allow you to get as messy as necessary and each table had a bucket for your shells. They even give you your bib and gloves so you can enjoy your food without being worried about making a mess which was much appreciated! The menu has tons of options, including non seafood options for the kiddos which was nice. I went for ceab legs specifically so I was happy for the build your own option where I can choose my seafood (there's much more than just crab legs!), seasonings, spice level, and add ons. Got theyr signature shake and my boil came in a plump steamy bag. Food was delicious 😋 maybe my crab legs were just slightly over cooked but thoroughly enjoyed my meal and would definitely come again! Of note, there is a bar with some cocktail, wine and beer options. I ordered the paloma and they had mezcal or tequila options. The drink was good, maybe not my favorite paloma, but enjoyed it enough to order a second 😉

Sea bugs in a bag! Shrimps, crawfish, crab, butter, Cajun seasoning, corn and potatoes all cooked together to create a melange of delightfulness. Pick and pull your way through the wonders of the bayou, with delicious wonderment in every bite. No shame in using a bib and gloves, but leave your bridesmaid's dress at home because it gets messy. Spice level ain't joking around, neither. You want spicy? They'll give you spicy!!

Crab King Cajun Boil & Bar offers a solid seafood experience! The Beginner's Combo was delicious and definitely worth the money with great portions and flavor. While the pickup experience was good, this is definitely a place where dining in gives you the full experience with the atmosphere and freshness. Overall, a great spot for a seafood boil, and I'd come back to try more!

Everything was so good in season, so well. I had the Dungeness crab and the shrimp with the head on.

Both the food and service 10/10, the only con is the wait time for food but that's expected since I'm almost certain everything is made to order.

Let's see how this works. A seafood boil and for 2. We got the $59 bag, some fried mushrooms, and fried pickles. First off the food is good. We chose medium heat with lemon pepper and it did not disappoint t. I remember coming here when it was still a Chinese buffet, but after Covid, it didn't survive so now it's a seafood boil spot. It's still a little pricey but for seafood, it is so worth it for sure. I am you'd expect to pay more ordering separate seafood dishes so this is perfect. The ambience is as before so not so many new upgrades made, but it is taken to a higher level. What a perfect place to stop in, again if you want a buffet, this is not the place. It's a great place for two as it can be a place of conversation. The taste of the food is top notch so come prepared for an attack of taste buds. I am content and very satisfied with not only the concept, but the food. Very fresh!

Once you go to 87th & Cicero location everywhere else is bland in comparison. I visited the broadway location and the noodles I ordered as a side/addition were dry! Dry and a dollop of garlic. Not garlic butter. I won't go anywhere else for a crab leg boils. Oaklawn location is the best. Only draw back is they hardly ever have crab crackers.

I'll admit...I was a bit skeptical when I arrived at this location. I went on a Tuesday evening so it wasn't a large amount of people there. We were sat immediately and the waiter was nice. I'm not a fan of crab so I ordered the shrimp and sausage. The amount depicted is a pound of each and I was very satisfied with it. I ordered the catfish basket to go and it was pretty good.

The service was amazing. I wish I asked our waitress her name but she was awesome. We ordered the calamari which was delicious! Two cocktails and a pick three bag. Definitely pleased my craving.

I like the food. I have been several times and have enjoyed each visit. If you want spicy seafood then this is the place.

Yep this was good good food. My hubby and I had catfish! Service girl was a doll and the drinks were good too lemon drop. Little pricey but good. Resturant was clean and big.

Food was excellent! Served nice and hot! We ordered a build your own, 3lbs shrimp, 2lbs langostinos, 1lb green muscles, corn, sausage, egg and noodles! We tried medium spicy but it was a bit too much for our family so we got mild this time and it was perfectly balanced and enjoyable. Service was very good, she was very attentive and helpful. The mood is nice with urban R&B music playing so the setting is slightly dimmed and chill. Wasn't crowded at all so no worries with that. Definitely coming back!

Food was good...I always get the catfish and fries...The catfish is very fresh and you can taste that it is not farm raised ...Nice little hidden and unknown spot...Oh, the bartenders make strong drinks.

I was near by visiting the beauty supply store, My brother was with me; he loves crab boils, so I went inside and grabbed a menu. I took a look at the menu and noticed they had beignets, I was pretty excited because I had been wanting to try these forever. So I ordered some and my brother ordered his food. I also ordered some seasoned corn on the cobb. He seemed pretty happy with his food but after leaving I noticed, what I ordered was not what I expected. Instead of authentic beignets, like the one's in Louisiana, like I expected; I received what some would call, Chinese donuts. I was pretty bummed but I had already left so there was nothing I could do. My 2nd visit I went in to get the seasoned corn I tried last time because I thought it was good, to my surprise it wasn't what I ordered, It was just regular corn. I was bummed AGAIN. I guess I would say, make sure you are very exact and clear with the person taking your order and try to check your food before leaving the premises.

I've been here twice now and the food is ok. I gave them an extra star for the service and their prices are pretty good too. We were seated immediately, and we ordered pretty quickly, too. The waitress gave us options on combos and specials that would help with prices. We ordered a variety of items. Snow crab, king crab, lobster tails, fried fish, & mussels. On a prior visit, I had the fried chicken wings and fried crablegs. I would rate everything a 3.5. But I pushed it to 4. The sauce in my crab bag was kind of bland and just ok. I had nonspicy. I probably should have gotten some spice. But yeah, check them out!

On my Impromptu trip to Chicago, we had a craving for crab legs. In searching the many reviews and the ones pretty close by, we came across this place. It was on a strip mall and the inside looked like it had a lot of Oriental decorations. Very beautiful place. Colorful. Dry spacious as well. They also had a full bar inside as well. It wasn't crowded when we first got there but then all the people started coming. The prices were pretty similar to all the other places, but definitely worth it. The food was so good. We ate absolutely everything. The food was full of flavor and was cooked perfectly. My son got calamari and loved it. He ate pretty much all of it along with his fries. One cool thing was that on the kids menu, they had buttered noodles. I thought that was cool because a lot kids love noodles and that made it easier to dine for picky kids. I highly suggest this place when you are in the area. I will definitely be back when I'm in town.

It's our first time here today. We've driven past this place many times, and finally got around to trying it. It used to be Buffet City, and I came here with my parents many times growing up. They've kept some of the interior the same, but they've modified it to be more of a seafood boil vibe. Our server was really sweet and friendly. She came to check on us several times throughout despite being the only server around 3pm and watching 5+ tables. I can see why it's so busy because the food is delicious, and the price is not bad. This place gives you the bibs and gloves -- some places will charge you extra for a pair of gloves. She helped us store our cake in the fridge and brought it out after we were done with our meal, which I appreciate. She also gave us a knife, plates and utensils without us asking. We came to celebrate my birthday early, and she even wished me a happy birthday. There's plenty of free parking on premise, and they also allow you to easily make a reservation online through OpenTable which is super convenient. I didn't have to make one, but I find that it was nice being able to walk in and have them expect me and my party. They were really patient with my parents not speaking English and also respectful of their health restrictions needing a boil only. My dad ordered the beginner combo, my mom ordered the seafood shake classic, my partner ordered a gumbo laya, a veggie boil with lemon pepper and mild spicy, and I ordered their pick 2 daily special (1/2 lb shrimp head off, 1 cluster of snow crab legs) with the special blend and medium spicy which really gave it a kick. We also ordered a basket of beignets to share, and they were so delicious -- crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and the powdered sugar was perfect. An order comes with 10, and it was plenty for us to satisfy our cravings. My parents and I both thought the sausage in her bag was salty as is, even though she did a plain boil. She said she'd opt for a pick 2 next time and same with my dad. We all enjoyed our meal. I'd recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for seafood boil, fresh seafood made to order, and at a decent price.

I have driven by this place for years, and finally decided to try it for takeout for my son's birthday. My son loves seafood and can be very critical when it's not right. He loved the food. We got the seafood boil special that was offered - it consisted of shrimp, crab legs, sausage, corn and potatoes. He also got some crab fries, and again, he loved the food! The only think is that he would go up from the mild spicy to either the medium or extra spicy, but it was great. Although it is a little pricey, the servings were very generous, we have enough to eat for tomorrow. We will both be coming back to this spot to try the other menu items. We highly recommend Crab King!

Food was good. The green lipped mussels were too big to eat in one bite and no knives available. Maybe I would try them again but they have a few problems. Styrofoam plates and cheap plastic forks. Doesn't work for me with a $70 bill for 2 people. 1 bottle of wine $5 grocery store purchase for $29. Crazy markup on cheap wine. They really should stock a few bottles of decent wine. If this wasn't a new place, I'd give it a 3*, but I'm hoping they're working out the bugs and will deserve the 5* their food is. One more concern is an automatic 18% tip. It's not a tip anymore it's a surcharge.

So this happened last night. Never been to a boil but this was fun, messy, delicious and CRAZY EXPENSIVE but I thoroughly enjoyed it and the company. I could do this twice a year easy. This one was called The Alaska. It had King Crab, Shrimp, Crayfish, Snow Crab, potatoes and Corn. It was truly amazingly delicious There were drinks but they didn't last long. I recommend the Tequila sunrise

Unassuming place with lots of options for some tasty seafood. Don't miss the garlic noodles...but they are GARLIC noodles so be prepared! Good service too.

Shit was terrible no cap sauce terrible waitress terrible no meat inside the shells eggs terrible potato's terrible 0/10 do not recommend wouldn't feed this shit to my dog

$250 for dinner and 3 drinks? I mean I guess it okay. The shake special I liked but nothing about the price (before tip) can really be justified. The ambiance is interesting, it's super dark, lights low and the music low. Almost like it's supposed to be romantic but really it's not lol idk. Can't put my finger on it but I wasn't impressed. Staff was nice though. Very.

We decided to DoorDash some seafood boil from this place while we were staying at the Hyatt hotel. We got the seafood shake classic with the snow crabs, clams, shrimps, corn, and sausage in garlic butter mild spicy. It was really good! Loved the sauce. Perfect spicy level for me. The seafood wasn't mushy at all. Totally recommend!

We love this place! We had king crab legs, snow crab legs, shrip, corn, potatoes, and their garlic French fries. Our experience was fantastic! The food tasted fresh, and it was super delicious. We chose lemon butter, medium spicy, and it was the bomb. The drinks were so good too. Over all the the service was awesome. It was our first time, and our waitress was super patient, informative, very helpful, and overall, she made the whole experience very pleasant. Definitely recommend this place and we plan to be back very soon.

This is our second time here and it's a hidden gem. Great service ,amazing fresh seafood , my husband and I ordered the pick 2 ;crab legs and shrimp we are basic seafood eaters LOL but it was delicious, the desserts are good too fried Oreos and the beignets are made fresh to order , we will be back Oh also get the fried rice with your seafood

I am so glad we chose this place. There are several in the area and this had the most appealing location. Tons of parking and this place is huge in the inside. I had shrimp, blue crab and crab legs extra spicy with shake blend. Just the right amount of spice and heat. So good. I spent about 37 bucks with plenty of leftovers. Patrick the server was amazing.

That "shake special blend" sauce in mild spicy is bussin. I'm from San Francisco and our cajun boil spots have nothing similar to that sauce. And they give you sooo much sauce too! Customer service was great and attentive. We always had our waters full and we were constantly checked on to see if we needed anything. Very worth the price in my opinion, although it was weird that they automatically took out 18% for gratuity no matter how many people are in your party. This wasn't mentioned to us and if we hadn't happened to look over our receipt, we would've given them double tip.

If you're into these crab boils, this was the best one I've had on the south side. Ordered mine with the shake special blend sauce which was Cajun, lemon pepper and garlic butter sauces. I had the medium spicy and it was pretty spicy. When I return, I would definitely go down a level. The sauce was great and thick enough to actually stick to the food. I really enjoyed it. Hubby had the catfish po boy. It was good also. The oysters were not great. Would not order them from there again.

I am very picky when it comes to seafood boils in Chicago or some place near. This is one of my favorite places when I don't want to drive to the South Loop area or Indiana. I've been here three times and each time did not disappoint. The crab legs are meaty and the ahrimp are a nice size. I try to get different sauces, but end up getting the same one and each time.....nothing is left to take home. The last time I came here, I had the opportunity to meet Annie who was our waitress. She did an excellent job on customer service in making sure we were satisfied with our order and checking on us throughout our dining time there. Not sure if all the waitresses are like Annie.....she was the best one I've had being my third time there.....as they say.....the third time is a charm. Thanks Annie for the GREAT customer service!

First time here & the food was great. These shrimps are huge & so good. Not the ordinary size shrimp. This place is big. My only issue is that it was so much seasoning at the bottom of the bag but other then that not greasy at all.

I got the seafood boil and the fried chicken wing appetizer. The chicken wings had no flavor whatsoever except for the sauce that was poured on top of them. I actually ended up getting sick from eating the food. I definitely won't be back.

The food is delicious here. I passed by this place dozens of time and decided to try it out. Very nice ambiance feel to it inside. Large seating area and yes they are open for dine in. The cashier told me that to call in and make a reservation for dining in. I ordered the 1lb shrimp without the head on it with garlic butter sauce which is soooo good and I got it medium spicy. A little pricey but worth the money. The service is good there and they are really friendly there as well. I will be going back again.

The pick 3 was very flavorful with the mild spicy sauce and the house seasoning. The boil had plenty of large shrimp, sausage, 3 corns and 3 potatoes. I also added broccoli that was cooked to perfection. The only complaint, which caused me to give only 4 stars was the small amount of small crab leg cluster. I really like crab legs and I was disappointed with the small size of the Crab legs. I would think with paying over $40 dollars that you would get more crab I called and informed the manager, who said his name was Peter. He guaranteed that I would get more crab legs on my next visit, since this was my first time. I will definitely give them another try.

The menu is a bit confusing and there are a lot of options to choose from, so we got the special for ease and garlic bread, Cajun fries, and crab rangoons on the side. The food was very good, especially the seafood and the garlic bread (that is a must), I'll skip the crab rangoons next time. The value os not great because the portions are not very generous for the price. It's not overly expensive, but you won't be getting the best bang for your buck here. Regardless we left satisfied (not full) with ~$100 (including tip). Really fun date night idea!

Their crabs are really tasty but this restaurant is expensive. They give you the crab crackers which is good and their sauce is really good. The service is really friendly. The waitress checked on us all through our dinner. I tried my friends noodles so the next time I go back I think I will order that. You have to tell them to put it in the bag. I like this place but I have to eat on a splurge day

I have passed by this place so many times and never dined or ordered take out the outside isn't too inviting. I was planning on going to a sea food boil in oakbrook but the reviews where not great until I looked up all the boil bars and this placed had the best reviews. The food is amazing here I ordered a lobster crab and shrimp boil with a shake mix which is a combo of the garlic, lemon pepper and Cajun seasoning and it was to die for. I will forever be going back. Everything we are was great the service is a little bit slow but worth the wait. The waitress even told me that I can order the sauce to go. I highly recommend this place.

The customer service(Ya Ya) was outstanding. You get what you pay for. We had the Seafood Shake Classic and Pick 3. You can have dinner for two under $100 and that's good for a seafood boil restaurant. You will leave out happy. Definitely worth the visit.

Saw this restaurant a few times because I live in the area. Wasn't too sure about it and was skeptical about trying it. Looked up reviews and for the most part they all seemed to be positive so decided to give it a try and order delivery. So glad I tried it! I ordered the Beginners Combo which has 1/2 lb of shrimp, 1/2 lb of green mussels, 1/2 lb of clams, 1/2 lb of crawfish with potatoes and corn and I added sausage and garlic noodles on the side. Generous portion size, flavor is amazing (I did the blend of all the seasonings and ordered it very spicy) and was packed very nicely to withstand the delivery trip and not have any accidents on the way. This was enough for my fiancé and I and we still had left overs. I highly recommend the food, I have not dined in the restaurant so not sure about the actual dining experience but the food is amazing and if you order delivery rest assured it will come nicely packed.

We ordered boiled shrimp and crab legs with the special blend seasoning...absolutely amazing flavor!! I've had crab legs from many places but this place has one of the best flavors I have had! I got mild flavor which had just a hint of a spicy kick. My husband got medium heat and he said his was perfect as well. We also tried the fried crab legs however we weren't too pleased with them. We never had fried crab legs and probably won't try them again. The crab meat was dry and the flavor was not very good but the boiled crab and shrimp made up for the disappointment of the fried. Definitely recommend and will be back when we are in the area.
