Service was very good.
Ambiance is very good. That sea breeze in summer is just... wow! Can't be beat!
The place get super packed for lunch and promptly empties around 2ish.
Sadly, the food is just horrible across the board, and there's nothing redeemable about it. Here's what I had:
Crab cakes: C
Not much flavor. My kids had this, and I felt bad for them. :(
Clam Casino: D
Dreadful. Mostly tasteless, and the clams were not minced well enough. They were too chunky and overcooked, so you end up with a bunch of rubbery balls in your mouth. Not nearly enough garlic and oil. Could've used more bread crumbs. I left some clams over; it just wasn't worth eating.
Shrimp Cocktail: F
Wow, seriously? The shrimp was obviously previously frozen and waaaaay overcooked. It was water-logged, overly dense, and completely tasteless. I took a bite, took a second bite to make sure I wasn't crazy, and promptly sent the rest back to the kitchen. The cocktail sauce was interesting -- a little more horseradish and less sweet than most shrimp cocktail sauce I've had in the past, which I DID actually like! But that shrimp... yikes! Tasteless and rubbery. Blech. Obviously previously frozen, and given how dense the shrimp was, I'm assuming over-thawed in a microwave.
Burger: C
I'm torn on this. The burger itself was nicely charbroiled on the outside. I ordered it medium rare, and it was, which is nice. But the patty itself didn't have much flavor. I'm not sure the meat was Angus, but worse, there was no seasoning. At all! No salt, no pepper, no garlic powder, no worcestershire sauce in the meat. The patty was very bland and had almost no flavor aside from the char. Too bad, because the patty was cooked well.
