Cracker barrel is your classic southern style cooking, but from an all white practice. Don't expect soul food. But that's not a bad thing. It's all the classics of southern cooking with what most people will like.
The atmosphere is meh. This is because along with the actual restaurant is a country store. Where there is WAY too much stuff. It's a lot of house decor with various clothing attire, and kids knick knacks, and lots and lots of candy. This is why there is a negative score. It's just TOO much stuff. The whole store is crowded with no actual lanes for finding things. It is far worse when there is actually a line of people waiting to be seated, since at that point, it's basically just people standing around and waiting for a table, in an already overcrowded store.
Once you make it past the actual store, you'll get to the restaurant part. Here you'll find a nice country atmosphere, a huge fireplace, and seating for over 100. The food is great. I've been here about 6 times and have always got something different. So I've tried a few different things. One major thing to note is that prices have risen significantly. We went here in February and nothing was over $16, as of now, nothing is LESS than $15. So don't go here thinking it's going to be cheap.
The worst part of it all, was the bathroom. It's pretend clean. It looks clean but spend a few moments there and you'll see filth everywhere. The floors were sticky, the urinals were dirty, the toilets haven't been properly cleaned, and nothing looks that great.
The service was very mediocre. Our waitress was unenthusiastic, no one really seemed happy, most seemed tired and exhausted. It's new years day, but that's pretty safe for customers to have such a mediocre experience.
I'll probably come back again, never the food is good, but don't expect anything else to be all that great.
