Cracker Barrel Edges Closer to LA Proper With New Location in Camarillo - Eater LA

"Another new Cracker Barrel is opening soon in Southern California, and this one is even closer to the heart of Los Angeles proper. The Rialto-area location, situated just off the 210 freeway, is set to open on May 13, and is hiring up now for all positions. Meanwhile, Eater has learned that yet another outlet of the quickly-growing company will come to Camarillo, just north of LA. That means two relatively-close outlets for biscuits and gravy, though each is still in a separate county." - Farley Elliott

The food was great and hot when it came out. It seemed like it had already been ready to go before we even ordered it. The rolls tasted like they were sitting out for a while under a heat lamp. Service was great when we got it. We waited for about 10 minutes before being seated and it took another 10 minutes to get food or drinks ordered. Our waitress was super kind and very helpful. She was doing great taking care of all the tables in our section.

Samantha was such a wonderful server. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything about our meal was perfect. She checked in at just the right times without being intrusive and made great recommendations from the menu. Her warm and professional attitude really made our experience enjoyable. Thank you for the excellent service, Samantha — we really appreciated it.

The food and environment was great! Samantha S was our waitress and made sure our experience was great. The food was amazing, and Samantha gave a great recommendation of the blueberry pancakes. It was so good! Definitely would recommend and will be back!

I'm visiting from the UK and was looking for some classic American food. This restaurant has that old style American charm and atmosphere that I absolutely love. I had the New York Strip Steak N' Shrimp combo. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. They also have a gift shop selling the cutest items.

Google
Campfire beef is a 7/10. The meat was tender decently seasoned. Tuesday special 4 piece fried chicken is a 2/10.. . was not great it came in cold, dry, not seasoned. Waiter replaced it for us, fresh and juicy just not seasoned neither were the fries. -cinnamon rolls came in Luke warm. Too much brown sugar sauce.

Google
Delicious experience . I had the steak tip hashbrown casserole. I would never have thought to put that together but it works out, filling, and tastes great. The garlic butter flavor was just the right amount of pop.

Google
The food was pretty good. The fried apples are fantastic. My mom and I shared a meal and there was plenty to go around. We had steak and eggs. The eggs were fine but the steak was a little over done and thin. We also ordered mimosas. They were pretty disappointing. They just looked like juice out of a bottle and you could not taste any wine in them. Like everything else now, I feel the food was overcost for the quality and atmosphere.

This past weekend, two guests, including myself, had our first visit to Cracker Barrel, and it was a wonderful experience thanks to two amazing staff members: Amy, our waiter, and Wanda, our server. Both were incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive throughout our meal. Amy took the time to explain the menu and made excellent recommendations since it was our first time there. Thanks to her suggestions, the food we ordered did not disappoint it was delicious and comforting, just what we hoped for. Wanda made sure we had everything we needed, checked in on us regularly, and helped make the whole dining experience smooth and enjoyable. The atmosphere at this Cracker Barrel location was warm and friendly, and the service made us feel right at home. I truly appreciate the hospitality from Amy and Wanda they made our visit special. Highly recommend this location.

Yelp
Lots of great food options. Love the biscuits. The setting and decorations fit the restaurant well. Great service when it's not too crowded; otherwise, it's alright.

Yelp
My daughter also got this dish and they gave her larger portions of meatloaf and double the amount of green beans and the potatoes. The potatoes tasted like cardboard potatoes from a box. The meatloaf was over salted and definitely did not taste the way the Cracker Barrel meatloaf used to be made. The carrots were okay but must've had sugar in them, which is unnecessary because they're naturally sweet. The green beans were overcooked and just OK. Needless to say, I will not be eating there again .

Yelp
Had an excellent time at Cracker Barrel this morning. My mom and I had never been and decided to try it. We were seated immediately and our server Shawn was super quick and helpful. I loved the warm biscuits they bring out with local jam! We had the grandmas breakfast plate and it was really fun to try such a variety of options. My favorite things on the plate was the bacon, ham, hash brown casserole, biscuits, and pancakes. The PANCAKES ARE FANTASTIC!! The edges are a little crispy from butter it's cooked in, perfect mixture of flat and fluffy. They were so good I ate them without syrup. My mom is a huge fan of warm syrup and literally giggled with glee when we received warm syrup bottles for the table. I also really liked the peach mimosa I had. We chatted with a manager named Liliana and she was so wonderful and made us feel super welcomed. Lastly I have to mention the store. I LOVE IT. It's so silly and such a fun sometimes cheesy collection of goods. I bought two adorable candles and the two women at the front desk added extra sparkle to the experience. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Typical Cracker Barrel; good food, great service and big portions. The very typical design is a plus but I noticed that this location had a small counter. This is the first time I have ever seen this. We had the Homestyle chicken meal with the Loaded sweet potato, fried apples and we purchased a third side of dumplins. The biscuits were absolutely delicious and was everything else.

Yelp
LOVE THIS PLACE! Got the meatloaf with three sides, so much food I couldn't even finish it. They always give great portions, food always tastes good and I Loveeee me some good leftovers I always drive up here from La to go bc I love it so much. 10/10 would recommend

Yelp
First time my family went to Cracker Barrel was the Santa Maria location, and everything was great. Sad to hear that location is closing, but glad that we now have one in Ventura County. Just like the Santa Maria location, everything is great. Outside, the restaurant has that country style architecture. Walking to the front, you pass by all the rocking chairs which is great when there's a long wait. Once inside you're in the massive gift shop which is fun to look around and kill some time. Once seated, menu is huge. Many options to choose from. Last time my family went, I got the Chicken Fried chicken and it was superb. Tasted similar to KFC but better. Wife had the trout which she said was very delicious. And son had Mac n cheese which was okay. If you never been to Cracker Barrel, I would definitely recommend coming here for some great country food.

Yelp
For being a chain restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed my dining experience here. Prices were not that bad (considering restaurants are getting so experience), and the food was pretty tasty. Didn't realize they had alcohol options here - drinks were reasonably priced and also decent. Their Mac and cheese is a must - creamy and cheesy. Also enjoyed their fried apples, fried okra, and green beans. Great side options! Their grilled chicken tenders were juicy and flavorful. Really enjoyed exploring their store. So many fun items to look at and many things for sale that I haven't seen in a long time. Not to mention, they sell jars of their Apple butter. Overall, I wouldn't drive far for this but would be down to eat a meal here if I was in the area.

Yelp
We love Cracker Barrel! If you're looking for a family-friendly restaurant to get breakfast anytime and some yummy comfort food this is the place for you! They're usually packed but always seated within 5-15 minutes. Love to shop around their country store while you wait.

Yelp
We came near closing time on a Saturday night, and even though our server had two big parties, she still took great care of us. While the food isn't the healthiest, it is fun to visit once and while. The country fried steak is good and the portions are big. It's a fun country mart theme and it's fun to browse through the country market. It's definitely a very American experience.

Yelp
I've always liked Cracker Barrel. I have visited plenty of them traveling cross country in my rv. Many have free parking in back for travelers. I don't live near one so when I passed this location I stopped in for breakfast. It's a large clean location. Host and wait staff very friendly. Service is always no matter what location been painfully slow but today was pretty quick. Three people in my party and our food wasn't very good. The eggs were cold and the sausage pattys were inedible. Cold hard discs that didn't have the texture or flavor of meat. I even asked if this was the impossible version which they have and she said no. Pancakes were ok but not like I remember. Non of us cared for our meal. Good coffee and very clean inside but that's about it.

Yelp
Now this picture doesn't do it justice but this meal is one of my favorites! I love the country mart with all the knick knacks they sell and all the vintage candy! You can play checkers, that little triangle game to get rid of the golf tee's and do not forget to sit in the rocking chairs outside for a sec if it's not too hot out. Chicken fried chicken doesn't get any better than at a Cracker Barrel. They don't have enough of these spots in LA and definitely worth the drive not to mention the best outlets is right behind this location if you're not too stuffed to walk around. I give Cracker Barrel a solid 10/10 but all depends on the location! Service was great and the food always seems to come out pretty quick!

Yelp
I came here on a Saturday and it was busy but we got a table right away. It was nice they serve breakfast all the time because that's what I was craving. Despite it being so busy our waitress came right away. I ordered the two eggs and my husband ordered the grandpas country fried steak. Everything was good but the hash brown casserole. It was a little weird and I didn't love it. My eggs were cooked perfectly and the biscuits and gravy were so good with my sausage. There are tons of tables inside and the cutest shop connected to the restaurant. It's nice that after shopping at the outlets we could sit down and have a nice meal.

Yelp
Always a good time here with my BF! Lots of menu options, decent prices and good service. Yesterday, Amber was our server and she was on point with service - so friendly and quick! There's a cute gift shop within the restaurant, too. If you decide to swing by soon, try their seasonal sweet plum tea - it's not too sweet at all. Delicious! {This place makes a good refuel stop after outlet shopping! Always plenty of parking & never had to wait long for a table.}

Yelp
We tried the Cracker Barrel for the first time today. Rather than tell a tale I'll summarize. - fried chicken, DOA dark dark brown, dry and over salty. - chicken and "dumplings", served lukewarm warm, strange flat shaped "dumplings", flavor free - biscuits, very dense, low flavor and no aromatic emissions Overall rating: Bummer, avoid this

Yelp
Food used to be better. Last time we went it wasn't the same. Chicken strips changed drastically! Service was good and the people in the store are so sweet. I love the store side of the restaurant it is my favorite!

Yelp
So we had to try this place. Service was pretty quick. The biscuits and corn bread was hot, lacking a little on taste, but was ok. Boys loved their fried chicken. All in all it was good

Yelp
We have had many meals here at this location this past year and we have always had excellent service and the food is always fresh and delicious! Last weekend we stopped here after a BD weekend at the Zacari Dunes Resort and ordered breakfast. My choice was the Mama's special; pancakes, eggs, and sausage. The sausage was very dry and almost not edible. The pancakes were delish and the scrambled eggs were good. Our server provided our coffee cups filled without asking! We also bought home the Apple Strassel cake! We will be back!

Yelp
This place has been on my list to check out since they first opened in Ventura County. Finally had a chance to come dine in with my family when they were visiting. When you first walk in, you'll be welcomed into their country store which sells a lot of cute things for your home, family, or gifts. Bathrooms are located in the back of the store. Then you'll check in with the hostess on the left side. We were seated immediately without waiting for a party of 5. Our server was fantastic! I forgot his name but he was so friendly and helpful. Told him it was our first visit and he gifted us a basket of biscuits to try! He brought our drinks (with extra refills!) to the table quickly. Took our order and everything came out fresh and tasty! Their pancakes were delicious. The edges were slightly crispy but soft and fluffy on the inside. They give you these cute tiny bottles of maple syrup on the side to use for your pancakes and they were warm! The sausage was good. Bacon was nice and crispy. Not too salty or fatty or greasy. The biscuits were buttery and fantastic with more butter or gravy. Once you're ready to go, they'll hand you the bill but you have to go pay for your meal at the cashiers in the market which is located in the back on the left side as you exit the restaurant. That's where you can redeem your rewards or enter your phone number to earn more reward points (free rewards program and app if you want to get discounts or free items at your next visit). We really enjoyed our meal and will be coming back when we want to sit down and get some brunch!

Yelp
Can't believe I never reviewed Cracker Barrel after noticing I just reviewed one in a different state. During the drive over in the rain, I realized on my way that it wasn't Thursday (I was craving turkey hard and this is only served on Thursdays), and although I was disappointed, I had alternatives. What I didn't realize was that this location actually had a 'bar' which is where I decided to seat myself. After perusing the menu (even though I checked it out several times online prior), I decided to go with another turkey option. Of course, they were out. Good lord, I then went with the next best thing, the homestyle chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans (and one biscuit/muffin). Also added on the limited edition berry tea which was the best thing I've done all month (had 3 refills which I never do). Biscuit/muffin were demolished with all the butters (and single grape jam) provided which probably ruined me since I couldn't finish my main, but I made it through more than half of the first piece of chicken. Sides were fine as usual, although more lukewarm. Was considering the fudge cake dessert but went with one of the takeaway meals ($6 instead of $5 since we're in expensive California) which I'll update once I actually eat it. As for the service, the hostess and Rebecca were great (the latter was overworked but on it, doing the best she could), but the one who rang me up could have been a little better. I had forgotten to provide my rewards info, but I also wasn't asked to do so, so I suppose this falls onto both of us. I emailed support, hoping they can add this on for me remotely. Cracker Barrel has always been a mainstay for me; I'll go eat at some overpriced L.A. place, but always return to here eventually. Yes it's far, but worth the while. I only wish they offered turkey daily, but I'll adjust.

Yelp
Growing up in Southern California my whole life, I had heard of Cracker Barrel for years but never had the chance to visit one. I was so excited to see that on our most recent trip to the outlets this location was open! And honestly, I was not let down. The waiter we had was fantastic. He was friendly and helpful and had a great time goofing around with our 3 boys (7, 4, & 1 so they run the gamut of what's funny & he hit all of the right notes). Food came out quickly and was excellent. The biscuits up front were, despite being a tad on the salty side, delicious and some of the best non homemade ones I've had in years. I tried the Southern Fried Chicken and, once again, it was some of the best I've had at a restaurant in a long time. I had a feeling that I was going to be disappointed and I 100% was not. It was just amazing (I did find the hash brown casserole side a bit mediocre though). The vibe of the inside is kinda like old school TGI Fridays meets southern nick nacks. It's cluttered with imitation Americana, but not to the point of annoyance. It fits. My only 'complaint' is that when you're done, they give you a bill to pay in their little gift shop you enter the restaurant in. That area is tiny (or at least feels like it as it's crammed with so much random stuff to buy) and you have to squeeze into one corner to pay and the cashiers were either dealing with really complicated bills/other guests or weren't in much of a rush to move the line along. The whole paying process took way longer than it should have. Overall, the staff was all incredibly friendly and the meal was incredibly tasty (& reasonably priced too I might add). I will absolutely be looking forward to our next trip to the outlets...or as I will now call it...or next trip to a meal at Cracker Barrel.

Yelp
Every time we come to the Camarillo Outlets we are always so intrigued by the Cracker Barrel sign. We finally decided to try it this past long weekend and unfortunately we were disappointed... The service was alright, not very friendly but also not rude. My boyfriend was not a fan of the food at all. He gave it a 4/10, I also wasn't a fan. The chicken was dry the biscuits were extremely dry even with the jelly. The hash browns had no flavor and didn't look appetizing. The wild berry tea was okay, a little sweet for me. The mash potatoes had no flavor to them at all. I was a fan of the coleslaw however! Overall it's not the place for me. The one plus was that it wasn't expensive for the portions you are getting. My total was $40 for all this food. If I were to come back it would be to try the drinks from the bar menu, they were very reasonably priced at around $8 average per drink. A close friend of mine also recommends the chicken with French toast so I may also come back to try that if some day I find myself in a Cracker Barrel again.

Yelp
I enjoy Cracker Barrel, this o pop particular location I usually stop by when I'm in the area or shopping at the mall. The staff team are pleasant. All of the traditional dishes are available just as the other CB. This restaurant built a full bar inside, serving beer, wine and cocktails. How about that. A drink to go along with some of my favorites platters.

Yelp
I've been curious about this place when I first saw it in Massachusetts. Well, I Finally got a chance to dine in a Cracker Barrel here in Camarillo and it did not disappoint. Perfect simple delicious breakfast comfort food! Came out nice and hot. Jason our host and Ashley our waitress were amazingly friendly. Cute store front, clean bathrooms, and a great crowd of families and friends, young and old. Enjoyed my time here.

Yelp
A rare sight in CA, Cracker Barrel offers American comfort food in a style that's reminiscent of places that are not CA. Think deep fried chicken, fried fish, casseroles, gravy, smothered breakfast all day, sweet tea, cinnamon roll pie. The chain is very consistent too and eating here is just like when I had it in Ohio. Just be sure to stick to the heavier comfort items and you'll be good. Pricing is also quite reasonable for a sit down - biegnet basket appetizers are $6, whole pies are $12.99 and they have take home meals for $6. We had the fried catfish and the country fried turkey. The catfish was ok, breading was a bit hard but there was a lot of food for the price. $16 got 2 pieces and 2 sides, honestly enough for 2 people. Country fried turkey was interesting and much better. Distinct turkey flavor and texture but fried and covered in gravy. Quite tasty with the broccoli cheese casserole.
google avatar

Charlene M.

Yelp
Good comfort food. Leave your KetoDiet at the door cuz this place is all about the carbs!! Worth the cheat day. Mimosas for breakfast to start the day off right (insert wink). They have two additional flavors beside just regular oJ & sparking wine. We love perusing the country store while we wait for our food. Cool tchotchkes and old skool snacks & drinks. The portions seem smaller than before, but still good enough.

Yelp
We stopped in on our way home from vacation on a Sunday morning. We haven't eaten at a Cracker Barrel for a very long time. It wasn't crowded and we were seated right away. Sandy our server came right over to get a drink order. She was so nice, friendly and the service she offered was excellent. She brought our drinks right out and we placed our food order and it came out pretty quickly. Mr. B ordered two eggs, with biscuits and gravy and hash brown casserole. The quality of food was very good. But, Mr. B's eggs were cold, sausage was cold, and the hash brown casserole was hot. Seems that the kitchen plated everything waiting for the hash brown casserole to come out. I had the hash brown casserole dish. It was their famous hash brown casserole topped with tomatoes and a scrambled egg. It was steaming hot and delicious. I passed my bacon to Mr. B to substitute for his cold sausage. The atmosphere of the restaurant is like stepping into an old country store. The restaurant was clean and comfortable. They have a parking lot in a shopping center, so parking is no problem.

Yelp
Typically I avoid chain restaurant but when the nephew wants to spend his birthday at Cracker Barrel you say yes. When you enter you think you're in a hectic antique shop full of stuff everywhere. To the side you'll find the hostess station to get on the waitlist. The restaurant has that same hectic vibe with artifacts and collectibles all over the walls. The menu is classic Americana fare from fried chicken to greens and biscuits. I ordered the lemon pepper trout with green beans and steak fries. The green beans were reminiscent of grandmas house canned beans in lots of butter. The fish was flavored perfectly and didn't have the fishy flavor it was very mild for those who aren't typically drawn to fish. All in all a good meal.

Yelp
Second Monday in a row short visit for lunch. Amy (our server) served us again same as last week. She remembered us and even our order. Very great service and the food was spot on as well. Thoughtful. Good hearted welcome back. She inquired about my Dodger experience last night as was excited to hear about my tickets to the play off. Thank you Amy. Thank you Cracker Barrel Camarillo.

Yelp
Cracker Barrel is a unique country old school dining experience. Growing up we always had to travel pretty far to get to a Cracker Barrel so I think that's what started the allure of the place. Now that we have one local I've toyed with trying to figure out if it's genuinely good or if it's just the nostalgia from my memories keeping me coming back. I'd probably rate Cracker Barrel at 3.5 but I'm bumping up as the staff are friendly and the service here is has always been pretty good. Pro tip: I recently realized I like their dinner vibes much better then the breakfast. I think their majority of the breakfast items are just "ok" but even more so it's so much less crowded for dinner then breakfast that I'll gladly skip the long morning lines and come for dinner. As I mentioned before the service is good and staff are friendly. The people also working the registers and hostess stand up front have always been nice and cheerful. I have real no issues when it comes to service. Yes, I've had to remind them for a sauce or extra napkins from time to time but nothing major to complain about. The food has its own hits or misses but I recently discovered that I really like the chicken fried chicken. Get it with a side of gravy and it's heavenly. Their chicken has a super crunchy batter just how I like it and the spices are fantastic. A solid dish that I'll keep coming back for. Again, find what's right for you as other options have been hit or miss. I don't particularly love their sides or their biscuits so I just focus on a main dish I like and sample small bites of the rest. They have a good peach iced tea just to note too! Prices are reasonable. It's a no frills kind of a place and portions are good for the most part, so decent bang for your buck. Also the gift shop makes it fun to dine here. It's kind of "kitchy" but different. They have random sales here too from time to time so when I do find little odds and ends items to buy it doesn't cost a lot which makes it worth it. If you come here for a casual country meal then you'll be just fine.

Yelp
We were seated in Leanne's area. What a gem. She was wonderful. The whole experience was wonderful. The food was fantastic. Even checking out - the two gentlemen were really nice and personable. They really helped set the mood for the day. When we go shopping at the outlets we will stop here again!

Yelp
I've been going to Cracker Barrel for nearly 50 years. One of my earliest memories is of Cracker Barrel pancakes with the little syrup bottles. Our family always stopped at the original Cracker Barrel every year on vacation in Tennessee. When Cracker Barrel came to CA, we use to make special trips to go to the Cracker Barrel in Victorville. I am super excited to have a Cracker Barrel in Camarillo. I do wish some of the more southern items on the menu were available, but I understand there are regulation issues why they don't have the country ham. Beans & Greens w/ the corn muffins is my favorite thing at Cracker Barrel and that's not available at the Camarillo location anymore. But I still love the place. It's affordable, the food is amazing, and it's a reminder of home. The thing that really stands out at Cracker Barrel in Camarillo are is the homestyle chicken- the best boneless fried chicken you can get. My family loves the chicken and dumplings family meal. It's one of our go to take out meals for busy nights. The Cracker Barrel store has great items to pick up too. I absolutely love their chow chow- it's a relish made with cabbage that's unique to Tennessee. Also, their jarred fried apples are fantastic, you can get those for a take out family meal and not have to get fried apples as a side. Cracker Barrel's holiday meals are fantastic as well and they have the pick up down to a science, I haven't had to wait long to pick up a holiday heat and serve meal.

Yelp
I have been wanting to go to a Cracker Barrel for quite sometime - the one time we tried, the wait to be seated was an hour and a half, so we just went somewhere else. We came at a good time because we were seated right away - which was almost a little disappointing since I wanted to check out the little shop at the entrance of the restaurant. But it was ok, we were starving and I was able to check out shop after we ate. The waitress was very nice and got our drinks right away. I had their Arnold Palmer (they had another name for it, but I can't remember the name) - it was good and not too sweet. She also brought us a basket of biscuits and corn muffins. We tried the corn muffin first and it was so dense and dry. I suggest you just ask for a basket of biscuits because they were tasty. Skip the corn muffin - didn't seem like even a ton of butter could help this dry little muffin. I had originally thought I was going to order breakfast for dinner - they serve breakfast all day - but then I spotted the hamburger steak, which is one of my favorite dishes, so my hubby ordered a breakfast and we shared our meals, so we could try different things. Let me start out with the hamburger steak - I got the fries and Cole slaw as the sides. The sides were good, but the hamburger steak was awful. I had ordered it to be prepared medium, and it was pretty much well done and dry - and it really didn't taste like much. I had also gotten it smothered, but that didn't help with the dryness. I wouldn't recommend this dish at all! My husband got the eggs, fried chicken and grits. He said that the best part of his meal was the eggs. The chicken was so dry! Unfortunately this visit was a big disappointment! Today I checked the Yelp rating for this location and saw they have 3 stars. That's just a meh rating, and I can see why. I think the best experience was shopping in their little Country Store. Unfortunately, I'm not able to recommend Cracker Barrel.

Yelp
I used to love coming to this location whenever I'd visit family in Camarillo each year. Unfortunately, we will not be returning again after our recent experience. We arrived for breakfast and were seated promptly as it was relatively empty at the time. After being seated, the remainder of our party joined us about five minutes afterward. We had to wait over 30 minutes for someone to take our drink/food order. During that time, parties that came after us had already been seated and fed. Servers passed us by but no one had stopped. When we were finally able to wave someone down, our server came a few minutes later. She was kind, but the wait was unbelievable. We were the only table that had to wait that long for service. By the time the food came, my pancakes were chewy and a bit rough. This is my first time having such a negative experience at this restaurant, but it is enough to keep us from visiting again. There are lots of great breakfast places nearby that I would highly recommend instead that have great customer service. Hope this helps.

Yelp
Went there with my son with our dogs. We sat outside at the right corner of the restaurant. As our dogs got distracted by traffic of customers, the manager came over to tell us that a lady who is a regular customer complained our dogs were barking too much. My son and I were surprised of that , honestly they may have barked once or twice. Our waitress was so nice to apologize it wasn't a big issue but the manager was very biased. I came from Carson, been there twice but never again will I eat there. I may also add we waited for quite sometime and there was hardly any customers. Oh our food was as if we ate cold leftovers.

Yelp
Horrible service and horrible food. The oil was not fresh and chicken want great. Got cold hard biscuits. So disappointed. The chicken dumplings had no flavor. Wouldn't go back worst Cracker Barrel ever.

Yelp
I wanted to see what the hype was about and happened to be visiting friends in Camarillo. I ordered the Pot Roast. In 2 bites, I knew all I needed. What an odd flavor. I'd give it a 3 out of 10. It was edible so I finished it as I don't like wasting food. My side was green beans. They were very overcooked. Oh well. I wonder why this place is so popular. If the food isn't good, then people will only go once; there won't be repeat customers.

Yelp
The cozy ambiance is perfect, with the walls covered in vintage family photos, antique items from various genres. Always fun to look at and talk about with your dining party. The bar is not necessary, but for some probably a nice feature. The food is always delicious and the country store with all its interesting items is always fun to look through and purchase items a fun, place to dine, always a treat! Service is EXCELLENT!!

Yelp
French toast and pancakes look and tasted good. Good place to have breakfast and if you like shopping they also have a small store inside.

Yelp
Food is great esp the breakfast offerings. Service is friendly and helpful. Love the store part where you can buy hard to find candies and sweets and clothes and gifts.

Yelp
Had a delicious Thanksgiving feast on par with the dinners mom used to make. Thanks, Shawn, for the impeccable service and the tasty one-of-a-kind Bloody Mary. John Howard Oxnard, Calif.

Yelp
I visited the Camarillo location today and enjoyed my usual blueberry pancakes which were delicious! I sat at the bar because my favorite server, Alexa was the bartender today. She is always so friendly and goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable, I always ask for her! Another favorite here is Joe, one of the managers. He is always kind and makes sure everything is running smoothly. Highly recommend The Cracker Barrel in Camarillo!

Yelp
My husband and I had lunch today here at Camarillo Cracker Barrel. The service was Amazing and the food has always been delicious! Chicken was so yummy, crispy and crunchy on the outside and moist and juicy in the inside . Amy, our server, Rocks! She is super friendly and provides excellent customer service. The restaurant was busy, however because I joined the waitlist ahead of time, we waited just a few minutes to be seated. I noticed the manager, Sean and the staff were all working quickly to clean tables, bringing customers drinks, making it a very cozy and friendly ambience. Sean was very attentive to all customers. Very commendable! . Amy and Sean, keep up the great service!

Yelp
What's for breakfast Grandpa? Cracker Barrel!!! From the ladder backed rockers on the wraparound porch, to the gift shop, to the table, this is a tribute to Grandma's cooking, and you know this is the place to enjoy a great meal with the family. Wanda happily served us our breakfast, refilled coffee, water, replenished butter, cream, sugar and whatever we wanted. The country fried steak and gravy were as good as I make and that's dang good! Our eggs were made just how each of us like them and the biscuits were the real deal! Fluffy inside with a crispy crust, and hot with real creamery butter, and plenty of it. It doesn't get any better than this! Cracker Barrel is a southern to midwest chain that's got it down pat. Always the same great food, service and atmosphere reminiscent of days gone by. Take some time to look through the gift shop, like none other, clever, unique and well made gifts for yourself or the perfect thoughtful gift for someone you love. I think I need to go back and take more pictures, and of course... eat some great food! Treat yourself, relax and enjoy!

Yelp
This was our first time dining in at a Cracker Barrel. We met some friends to have brunch. My husband and I walked in and noticed it was a store as well as a restaurant. There were so many items/antiques/goodies to buy. My husband was stuck looking and reminiscing. There were plenty of candy that reminded him of his childhood. They had Christmas as well as Halloween items out. We ordered their most popular items. You'll see it on the menu( I forgot their names). Had their strawberry mimosa. We also tried their peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream. Portions are huge. I, personally, I know I had one of their smallest combos( I think). It had biscuits with gravy, eggs, and bacon. It was very filling. I really enjoyed the biscuits with gravy. Overall, all was delicious. The waitress was extremely helpful and professional. Actually, the whole staff is. Very friendly. My husband loves this place and wishes we had more of them in NorCal. Before heading back home- he HAD to stop by Cracker Barrel to buy more nostalgic candies, their syrup and pancake batter. The lady who checked us out was super friendly and shared how we should make the pancakes. I think Cracker Barrel has the best staff members over all the other "breakfast joints" out here in NorCal. Will definitely come back.

Yelp
Dropped in today for breakfast . I like the atmosphere , the food is okay . The problem is the service - which is terrible . No other word for it . There are to modes - completely ignore customer or rush out the door . Today I had the combo of both . I didn't win a contest . I did not receive a charity meal . I chose to eat at Cracker Barrel. (My fault) the good news is I do not have to come back .

Yelp
It was our first time here and both the dishes we ordered are bland (sorry)!! I had the Grandpa's Country Fried Breakfast with Grits, even the grits was bland and watery, I've had tried many grits from different places that served them, this was my least favorite), it's just my taste buds. Unless if you like watery grits, then you may like it. My hubby ordered Chicken & Dumplings and it was bland. Maybe their other dishes may not be as bland. The service was PLEASANT though, they were really nice! I have to say my most favorite part is the atmosphere!! So many fun decorations to look at and LOVED their store!!!! They have great Halloween and Christmas decorations amongst other things!! It's like a little country store!! That was fun!!
