Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

Had the opportunity to visit this location a couple of times when I was recently in town. Was very happy with the service, even though on one day they were clearly understaffed on the floor. Everyone was nice and we were greated by multiple staff members. Food was good, no complaints on that front. Love those biscuits. Kids enjoyed their food too. And the peg game on the table even had all the pieces (have had trouble on that front in the past).

This place is just now what it used to be. CB has been a top 5 choice in my family for years, but my last few visits have been unpleasant. I could write a lengthy review but I’ll just keep it short: 1. Long wait to be seated (depending on who you are) 2. Long wait to be greeted by your server or get your drink orders 3. Long wait for food 4. Food is dry, unflavored, and portions are very small - and plated kind of gross 5. Can’t get items asked for without yet again another long wait, letting food get cold, and then never receiving it 6. Restaurant is freezing (as usual) and just feels miserable Picture doesn’t do the small portions justice

The meal was a mixed bag: country ham was awesome; however, the scrambled eggs were pathetic (see photo). Almost looked like egg whites. Server was fair, but I ordered the included side of sliced tomatoes, but got mixed fruit instead - with an upcharge!

It has been years since I've been to a Cracker Barrel. My husband and I went to this particular restaurant this past weekend. I was sorely disappointed. I had chicken and french toast. The chicken was really good. It tasted like the KFC of old. The french toast was terrible. It was way too soft; no flavor, no cinnamon, and no powdered sugar. My husband had a full breakfast with plenty of food. He had an Old Timers breakfast plate. Eggs, sausage, hash brown casserole, and biscuits with gravy. It was adequate but not enough flavor. The service was good. I will go back, but only for the store. That store has so many things and the prices are decent. The best we ate there was the Biscuits Beignet. They were amazing!

Love the cracker barrel! This particular one goes above and beyond. Drew is exceptionally well versed in the store, on customer care and has the most infectious personality. Easily one of my favorite places to eat.

Plastic in Burger! My son took a bite of his burger and found a large piece of melted plastic in his burger. There was also a grill brush baked into my chicken. Needless to say it doesn't seem like a clean place to eat. Would not go back.

This is my favorite Cracker Barrel location. My friends and I have an inside joke about this Cracker Barrel in particular, so I had to stop by while driving past this most recent time. I’ve been here 4 times and the food, service, and store have always been amazing. This time I got the 10oz Strip Steak, the Mashed Potatoes, the Corn, the Dumplin’s, the Fried Shrimp, and of course the Biscuits. Also this is the only place that I know of that has Clove chewing gum, which my Dad really likes.

06/15/2024 Friendly, attentive employees, beautiful fun gift shop, clean spacious restaurant with lots of seating. Everyone enjoyed their food. The ham, sausage and bacon were cooked just right. Delicious eggs, brown tasty hashbrowns and big fluffy pancakes. The star of the meal was the already warm syrup that came in little shot bottles. The strawberry mimosa was ok, a full glass would have been appreciated since it was served in a small class. Good food portions, great taste. We will be back.

We found this Cracker Barrel by accident we were Hungrey but we hadn't had good experiences at CB in the past especially by our house. Wife had country fried steak and I had eggs & biscuits &gravy our waitress Julianna was very nice helped us with our choice of side but best of all we got our food in 10 to 15 minutes the fastest service we ever had at a Cracker Barrel it was outstanding and we thanked the waitress. Food was good if we travel this was again and wound up in the vicinity we would stop there to eat. Again

I used to really enjoy coming to this spot as a kid but over the years, I feel as though the quality of the food and service has been steadily declining...they're even starting to take away the classic decor that made this place fun! As far as the food goes, most of what I end up getting ends up being too sweet, too salty or too greasy or sometimes all of the above depending on what I order. What really gets me though is the service, I don't know why everything takes so long here. They won't even be that busy and you'll wait 5-10 minutes just to get a drink order in, then hopefully by then you know what you want so you can just order in the hopes of getting in and out in less than an hour. From the time you order your food to the time it gets to your table, no matter what you get, usually takes 35-40 minutes and that's when it's slow in there. The food I get by the time it comes out never seems to be worth the wait. There's probably things on the menu I should be ordering instead, maybe those items would be better so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt on that and giving 2 stars. Most of the reason it's so low, though, is because of the service.

Went here this morning for breakfast and it was a 45 minute wait but it is Sunday. It was bad enough we had to wait and then wait again on our slow....waitress. She was terrible. It appeared she only had about 4-5 tables to wait on besides ours but still couldn't seem to manage the tables she had. Ordered the pecan french toast which was missing the pecans and she brought no syrup. She kept telling us they were out of biscuits but yet every table around us had biscuits. Finally brings us two biscuits without butter or jam. We had to keep flagging her down for coffee etc. I could understand if she had several other tables and was that busy but she didn't have a lot of other tables. Every table that came in after us had their food and some were even leaving and we still didn't receive our food.

Went there with my family and it was bad from the start. The waitresses came to the table and had an attitude right off the bat. 2 of my family asked for the camp fire meals and was told after they was ready to order waitresses 1. Said we are out of that all chicken and pork than waitress 2. Coped an attitude cause my brother miss heard her and thought she'd said they was out of stake too. When we ask for beer we was told that they was out of beer as well and the only beer they had was medal and blue moon and it was hot/warm. When we got up to leave after we ordered are food what we didn't basically want but was forced to have. When we asked why everything they was out of almost everything we got even more an attitude. We then got up and when I went to the kitchen and to cancel everything I over heard the two waitresses and kitchen staff talking really horrible about my family and saying how most of us didn't need to eat that we was fat enough. OUT OF ALL MY YEARS OF TRAVELING AND GOING TO CRACKER BARREL AND EATING THIS IS RHE FIRST TIME EVER HAVEN SUCH A BAD EXPERIENCE!. I don't recommend this Cracker Barrel to anyone I give this location 1 star for staff and lack of having enough food and stuff for people to order instead of being out of everything practically.

Worse Cracker Barrel that I have been to. Service was good but food was horrible. Biscuits and meat were cold. Chicken sausage was nasty. I do not know what happened to this company. They don't give out apple butter anymore. Do better.

Total score should be 3.5. Gravy with mashed potatoes is a little too heavy and dark tasting. Chicken and service was good.

Right when Cracker Barrel opened I placed a to go order. The pancakes were the best I had in a long time. We had a large order and everything was really good! Great cooks! Great server didn't forget anything! I give you a five star

Waitress was SLOW! They did not have the cinnamon rolls or pecan rolls ready " they are still thawing" it's 1030 in the morning you have been open for hours don't you think they should be ready by now, but they do have the donuts so we get those . So after waiting awhile for our drinks we order our food in which we were told , kitchen is backed up we have an inexperienced cook. . The donuts come out, raw in the middle and a TON of cinnamon like to much to swallow. Food finally came out, didn't get my side, some food warm some lukewarm , didn't get the jelly we asked for at time of order and so we asked for both and refill on coffee. Ok so waitress goes clears off another table then goes in kitchen, comes back with butter and another syrup (didn't ask for that) no coffee no jelly, so we asked again. She goes clears another table and then goes in it kitchen comes back with coffee and tea no jelly. As the person only got the biscuit breakfast (biscuit and meat) it was needed!! I finally had to say " could we get the jelly right now she has been waiting and unable to eat so we need it right now" she finally went straight to the kitchen and got it. Mind you the other three of us were almost done eating by this time. They ended up taking one breakfast off the bill. This waitress had SIX stars, but was the slowest horse in the barn she ( she only had us and one other table soooo). Smh. We will definitely not be returning to this location!!!!!!!!!

server was swearing at my table in front of small children, service was rather horrible beforehand. asked to speak to manager and had the server come at me and scream at the table. was given a random person not the manager. manager never came out until after paid. Food was cold.

I ordered the chicken 'n dumplings and mashed potatoes with white gravy. The presentation was as though they plated it some hours ago and just now served it. The mashed potatoes were dry, bland and you had to use your fork to cut them. The gravy literally just sat on top of the potatoes. The dumplings were dry as well. I could not finish this meal. I will say on a positive note that our server was very nice. She told us right off that she was new to this. Also, the diet pop tasted pretty good.

OMGOSH. Service is TERRIBLE! Seated right away on a slow Friday evening. Maybe 5 other tables near us with customers. Waited 26 minutes for... no service. Spoke with person who sat us twice. Other waitresses noticed us but none stopped or said anything. As family saw other new customers being served, we chose to leave and go across the street to Bob Evans. Spoke again with staff and they said we were sat in a closed section-by staff and with others by the way. They were more interested in talking amongst themselves than helping us. Then they were willing to serve us but were still trying to figure why we weren't attended to at all. No offer to make it right in any way! Not worth the stop. Poor management and staff. Just was sad.

Great service! I wish I remembered my server's name so I could give her a shoutout!! We were a party of 8 and she didnt skip a beat! God Bless!

Food is always good. It is cooked well and tastes good. Service is generally good. Food is served with a smile. Also enjoyable is the shopping. Wish they were open on holiday. K9k

Arrived for breakfast this morning 11 ish and still haven't had my breakfast. Slow today so get ready to wait. Finally came but most of food cold. Eggs. Pancakes. Not a good day for us.

My food was great, one item was missing in my order. Will order again. My favorite is the Bake Sweet potato.

We ate at Cracker Barrel in Lansing. I enjoy eating breakfast for dinner. I had the Grandmas Breakfast. Delicious as always. My other friends had the NEW Pancake Taco. He liked it. Something different he said. The other friend had their special which was the Turkey Dinner. She loved it. We enjoyed it. Service was a bit slow but everyone seemed friendly and accommodating. Always love looking around the store too. Friendly service, nice waitresses and a good crowd.

So during the summer through fall (October) 2023, we went to this Cracker Barrel 4 - 5 times. In the past, this location always had hot, fresh food, fast service, friendly service, etc. The more recent 4 - 5 times we visited, however, we sat at our table for at least a half hour, waiting for someone to just get out drink orders. We actually waited for our food for about a half hour too, and it was either overcooked, undercooked, or cold. Usually the coffee was always hot and fresh, but part of their service has declined also - "warm" coffee is served. We gave them many chances, thought maybe the service staff and cooks were just having off days, but after 4 or 5 times and still the same service and food? It's not worth trying again, in my opinion. None of the staff is rude or inattentive, but the waiting and waiting for both drinks and again for food, and not having good food - it's just not worth the wait. I don't know if it's Covid that did them in, or what, but was once a wonderful place to eat, has just lost us as customers. We've been going to Bob Evans since November 2023 and are much happier with both the service and the food.

We received mediocre service. The food was unimpressive. The staff need more training.

Don't go here. Just don't. The coffee AND the food were barely warm...practically cold. When o said something she offered to microwave my food. No refill on our coffee with our pie either. Manager finally came around with coffee pot at the end and asked how everything was. I told him everything was practically cold and a young employee interrupted us. The manager looked at me and said "Ok," and then he walked away!!! Seriously? Terrible service.

I've had countless visits to 3 different Cracker Barrels and have received horrible service. Forward to October 9th in Lansing. We sat down to a party of 5 adults and 2 kids. There were about 7 families in the restaurant and 3 waitresses on our side of the restaurant. We ordered our food at 7:00 PM. At about 7:30 we noticed that our pinkish hair waitress Kaitlyn had been AWOL since we had ordered. At 8:05, an hour after we ordered, 2 servers from the kitchen brought out my buddies, his girlfriends, and their 2 kid's dinners. They had failed to bring out our salads before the dinner. For the first time since ordering and almost an hour later, our waitress checks in on us. At about 8:25, 20 minutes after they brought out our friend's dinners, my dinner, my girl's and my aunt's dinners were delivered. By now our friends were almost done eating. The loaded sweet potato I ordered had nothing on it. I asked about the potato and she said they were out of everything. Normally this would have been brought to my attention before the dinner was brought out in case I elected to choose something else. We asked the waitress for syrup for my girl's French toast, tarter sauce for my fish and sour cream and butter for my sweet potato. The waitress said that she would be right back. The waitress then went and took a party of fives order, went to the back room and brought out a party of sixes dinner, went back in the kitchen and brought out a party of fives dinner. By now its been 10 minutes since we asked for what we needed to begin eating. It's now been 1 hour and 40 minutes since we ordered. I walked up to the waitress and she abruptly mumbled something to the effect when I get to it or something similar. A girl near the kitchen heard the exchange and asked if she could help. I asked to speak to the manager. 5 minutes later and 15 minutes after asking, we got our syrup, tarter sauce, and sour cream. Apparently, the kitchen was short, and the manager had sent a few waitresses home. I could write a book about bad Cracker Barrel experiences. A few times the restaurant was almost empty and they were making people stand in the lobby a half hour before being seated because the kitchen was short-staffed and they needed time to catch up. We asked to be seated anyway as we would just chat as we waited. They refused to seat us and we left and went somewhere else. I've never had a problem when Maurice was the acting manager.

This particular location has been very unpleasant the last few times we've been here. We got seated and sat there for over 10 minutes, no one came to greet us, get drink orders, nothing. The girl that sat us was saying how she couldn't wait to get out of there. Some people can me in after us, their waitress got right to them right away. We got up and left, went over to bob evans and got great service and food was excellent. I know it's hard to find good help these days, so it's not totally Cracker Barrel's fault. If you go there on a day when they have attentive waiters/waitresses then it's great.

We came on New Year's Day for breakfast. We thought it would take forever but the two hostesses quickly organized the 20 person mob and got everyone seated within 10 minutes. Super smooth. Ashley our waitress was quick with coffee and our food, which demonstrated a well staffed and capable kitchen crew. Great experience, even got to sit and watch the cozy roaring fire (for a minute, lol -it was a pretty busy morning).

Still delicious, but cold when I got there, because they put takeout on a shelf now. (Hence the small reduction to 4.5 stars.) When I called to complain, the manager's tone said, "Try getting here on time!" I ordered from the Walmart parking lot at 4:44 and was given a pickup time of 5:07. I went to Cracker Barrel, sat in the parking lot for less than five minutes, got a soda from Shell, went back and read my book. I got through a couple of pages, checked the time (I was reading on my tablet) and had 5:02. I got up and went inside, where my food was already waiting. I seriously don't think it takes five whole minutes to go through a row of cars, walk in the door and go up to the counter. And even if it did, the food wouldn't have gotten cold in five minutes, which tells me that the food was probably ready five or ten minutes after I ordered. Lesson learned: next time I choose ASAP over scheduled, I'll opt for carside, so they'll bring it to me hot.

I have a service dog and even though they were doing busy after church crowd we were seated quickly at a 4-top. Maya W. was our server. She was very attentive. Be careful if you order hot chocolate and can't stomach coffee. The hot chocolate is made on the same stem as the latte so the coffee taste permiates the chocolate.

I'm been trying to contact there corporate office at their request for half an hour concerning a bad review I left here September 9 and and about a week later. They requested I call them to clear up any confusion that was caused. There phone number gives you the run around and the website is also not working. Three strikes your out. Which is really too bad because we ate there at least three times a week. I must add that after a several weeks Cracker Barrel's corporate offices issued me a full refund. Haven't received it yet but I'm certain it will show up. That's the way a business should be run. Thank you!

We have been coming to Cracker Barrell about 2 times a month for breakfast, lunch,or dinner. I feel that this Cracker Barrell is very good in appearance, clean, fast,hot food. Some days busier than others, this is a great value . $$

The food was amazing! Our waitress Avery was very quick and friendly I would 100% recommend her to anyone looking for amazing service!

Well the cute girl said she wanted to eat some Cracker Barrel and rock in their chairs outside. So that's just what we did. We got seated instantly right where we requested to sit, next to the windows. Now something happened with our waitress like they made her go clean tables she messed up so bad with some other patrons. So it took forever to order but our new waitress was awesome. Your boy ordered the chicken fried chicken. You know me well! You know your boy is a bird meat enthusiast. The cute girl got the chicken and dumplings. The food came within ten minutes and was hot and fresh. Our sides came soon after and also didn't disappoint. My chicken was juicy and sultry, very tasty with its gravy deliciousness. The cute girl's food was tasty AF, bro! This has probably been our fifth time here and this was our favorite experience. Very delicious food and the rockers outside were so nice in the gentle touch of the winds whisper. When you get to my advanced age, it's all about the little things. I love the cute girl!

My wife and I come here more often than I would like to admit. We stay loyal to Jenna and Lynn as our waitresses whenever possible and always have an awesome experience. They are always friendly, attentive, and make sure everything is right without being overbearing. We will always come back!

I hadn't been to a Cracker Barrel in over a decade and ended up at two different ones back to back nights. This was the first one, and much better of the two. The food was good, service was slow. Otherwise, things were overall good. Took about 30 minutes to get two meals that were a chicken fried steak and a hamburger. They weren't busy at all, only about 5 tables in the restaurant were full when we arrived around 8 p.m. The waitress was very nice, and knew the menu well when I asked questions.

Meh. Waited a loooooooong time to be given water after being seated. By that time we had our orders ready and dessert already picked out! They have their hands full with huge parties but not greeting tables was pretty rough. Food was just ok.

My dad and my sister and I had lunch here today. Normally mom is with us and she doesn't like this restaurant so we don't usually get the chance to eat here, she wasn't with us today though so we got to choose. My sister wasn't impressed and she thinks we should have totally listened to mom. Dad seemed to enjoy his lunch though, he had a french dip. I had the crispy chicken strips and hash brown casserole and corn muffin. The chicken strips had more crispy coating than chicken and the corn muffin had absolutely no flavor. I was so disappointed.....mom was right....I probably won't be back. Having said that though we had great service and I enjoyed shopping in their little store.

Our waitress Adriana R was attentive and very sweet, had a nice quick dinner with my husband on our way home food was delicious and quick and the to go order for our boys at home was ready when we were ready to leave.

I got the classic burger I said no mayo and 20 minutes later I get my burger and it had mayo I asked about it and they took 45 minutes to get me a new one

I received my order and there was plastic in my greens. I am very disappointed in this restaurant.

I ordered through Delivery.com and my fried chick is dry and you forgot the biscuits & honey and ice cream for the cobbler. A waste of money. Not impressed.

Sadly I have to actually write this, I was really hoping third time would be the charm and we would actually get good service this time but sadly I was WRONG, this is not even about the quality of service but the lack of even being waited on at all, we sat there for 10 minutes and nobody came to our table in a practically empty restaurant, we left after another couple got seated and waited on IMMEDIATELY ‍‍ sad because I love the food at Cracker Barrel but I will not return to this location as it's literally the third time we have sat for a extensive period and either not been waited on or had a very extensive wait :(

Would give no stars but not a choice. Went to order dinner for take out and was told they are not doing take out at this time because of backlog. Need to step up your game folks. Will get dinner for the family from somewhere else and not bother with you folks again.

Stopped in for lunch with my son and we had the county fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans for me. Also tried the dumplings and they were good. He had corn and carrots and mashed potatoes. I also had the vegetable soup, it was ok. We liked everything and the service was quick and great.

Came in for quick breakfast. Had to return the car at noon across the street. U fortunately it took half an hour to GET our food. Well it WAS sat. Ordered the breakfast with all the fixings. Didn't eat the biscuits n gravy, no time plus it was icky gravy to me. Everything else was fine plus our server fabulous!

This was my first trip to a Cracker Barrel. I generally don't go to chain restaurants, but was out of town and didn't want to drive too far. The restaurant was a warm and inviting atmosphere. I was quickly seated. The waitress was very nice although she had no idea what the soup of the day was! Ordered the chicken noodle soup and it was delicious! My chicken Cesar was only so-so. The deviled eggs were bland. The portion was small and I didn't care for the dressing! I'll go back but will need to order something else as my entree.

Grabbed breakfast at Cracker Barrel while waiting for my car maintenance to be done down the street last week and had a good experience. You really can't go wrong with Cracker Barrel if you are looking for home style southern/country cooking. The price is more than fair for the quantity of food, and they use real fresh ingredients. For breakfast I had The sunrise sampler which came with grits, ham, sausage, eggs, loaded hash brown casserole (up-charge for making them 'loaded'), apples, and biscuits and gravy. I had to take some home because that was way too much for me to finish in one sitting. My server was attentive, polite, and kept my coffee hot. She even offered me a to go cup for what I didn't finish. After I ate, I browsed all of the neat Knick-knacks in the country store, and enjoyed the rest of my coffee rocking in a rocking chair on the porch while I waited for the dealership to pick me up. I grew up on Cracker Barrel when we took road trips, and know I can always get a fresh meal at a great price when I go here.

It's Cracker Barrel, what can I say. They are all pretty much the same. Decent service, fair pricing, decent food, and clean. They are as dependable as can be, nationwide. As long as you don't mind a menu with a lot of soft foods and dining with geriatrics it is an alright place on a road trip when you don't have time to go looking for an interesting local place Where else can you wait in a rocking chair on the porch, listen to old people tell stories, buy old timey chocolate bars and bad country music, and order catfish and hash brown casserole.

After driving 16hrs, we met family here for supper on April 1st. We were seated quickly then sat for 25 mins before the hostess came and asked if anyones taken our drink orders. Our waitress was sent over and took our drink and food orders. We sat another 45 mins before getting anything. Food was cold and items were missing. We were here for 2.5hrs and the restaurant was not busy. Our waitress seemed very stressed out and in a lot of pain walking. We were very patient however it seems this may have been a training issue.

I'm not normally a review writer, but have to say worst experience ever. Was told wait to get seated was 10 minutes...got seated 30 minutes later...then no waitress showed up at the table ...people coming in after us getting served before anyone comes to our table...long wait for food...seems like anymore you have a 50 percent chance of terrible service at Cracker Barrel.

Very disappointed with the meal, order southern fried chicken, it was not make fresh, seamed like yesterday's leftover. OrderEd loaded baked potato, not fully cook or tender, more like it was reheated. Service, nothing to rave about.

Actually, we would give this location a solid 2.5 stars. We've been to a number of Cracker Barrels (at home and on trips), and they are all pretty comparable. Until tonight. It's been a while since we stopped at this location, but I don't think we will stop again. Wanna know why? Keep reading... It was around 8 pm. The restaurant was not busy at all, but also not empty. There appeared to be plenty of waitstaff for the number of patrons. There were two of us. 1. We waited for a quite a few minutes before the hostess came to the stand. Okay, whatever, right? We weren't in a terrible hurry. But the poor reviews we read before arriving put us on alert. She forgot our silverware, too. 2. As she escorted us to our table, we passed table after table waiting to be bussed. There were more dirty than clean tables! Gross! Maybe they had a rush, right? But as the 14 dirty tables lingered thru our entire meal, it was clear that staff was not anxious to clear them. Waitstaff hung out in the kitchen - my husband could see them standing around the entrance - and the hostess played on her cell phone by the fireplace. After my husband asked if they were short staffed, our waiter started clearing tables as we left. (He was very nice, though.) 3. The food arrived quickly and was okay. I think it arrived fast because it was sitting in the kitchen waiting to be served. My dumplings were pasty. My husband's food was better - he ordered the special. To sum it up: Not the end-of-the-world bad, but not a pleasant experience. It was gross being surrounded by dirty dishes while eating our own dinner.

Not impressed when I came in yesterday ‍ my waitress acted like she had better things she could be doing. Not even a smile or and introduction. Our food came out cold especially the dumplings. However the hostess has the brightest smile and great marketing strategies she had me sold on the fried turkey before I even sat down! The turkey was delicious but that was about it all the sides and cornbread were cold.
