I had the tater tot bowl. It didn't disappoint. The tots were crispy. The egg was perfectly cooked as well as the bacon and sausage. The crack sauce was tasty. My husband ordered the wilber sandwich but they gave him a different sandwich. I had a latte that was delicious.

Got my drink right away. Plenty of seating. Dog friendly. Bloody Mary was good. Good place to people watch.

Allie has provided great service for everyone around myself and my table of friends. She is very interactive and always ready for an order. Unfortunately I didn’t have the chance of having the food but I’m sure that would have also been amazing just based off of the service we have received. Amazing experience and great time with an amazing atmosphere.

Google
Honestly, I don’t understand the hype about this place. The drinks? Overrated and overpriced. I’ve been here a few times hoping for a better experience, but it's consistently disappointing. The cocktails taste watered down, especially the cosmopolitans — they were anything but "bomb." The honey chamoy margarita? Way too sweet and artificial-tasting. Service is hit or miss — we got Vanessa last time and while she tried to be nice, the whole experience felt forced and robotic. The vibe might work for some, but to me, it feels like they’re trying too hard to be trendy without actually delivering. For the prices they charge, you’d expect something way more refined. Definitely not worth the repeat visits. Never going back again.

Google
I love this place! The drinks are amazing!!! My partner and I have been several times and the service is always great, drinks are great and atmosphere is perfect, winter or summer. The pricing is comparable to the quality of what you’re ordering. The cosmopolitans are bomb, honey chamoy marg is a must. Vanessa was incredible and so kind. Always going to come back!

Google
Wonderful outdoor venue in both shade and sunshine. Several breakfast and lunch options available, breakfast sandwiches, burgers, etc. Also a great cocktail menu. This place is usually extremely busy on weekends. Great downtown Carlsbad vibe. Everything is order at the bar, and open seeding.

Google
Stopped in for a quick breakfast. The service was great, and the food was delicious. Had a little breakfast and added some sliders just because... we had og sliders, breakfast tots, and a softy. Will be back again for sure

Google
The ambience was great. Dog friendly environment. Definitely a unique and welcoming setup! The breakfast burrito I ordered tasted like the burritos I can make at home. But it was tasty. I liked that the bacon didn’t have much fat on it. And was finely chopped. Apparently I misunderstood the menu and the waitress because I thought the burrito came with jalapeños and chives. So on their menu, the description of one dish is in the same grouped section of the price for a different dish. For some this may be easy to understand. For me, I guess it wasn’t. I enjoyed our waitress’s attitude towards us and our pet dog little Lola very much. She sat with her, treated her with love and asked if she could offer her bacon with whip cream. Lola was delighted! My friend ordered the Breakfast Tots and rated it a 4.

Yelp
Always great to come here, this time had the crackhead sandwich with tots! The medium egg gushing out was so good :) Also I think they have the best mozzarella sticks I have had!
google avatar

Gade T.

Yelp
I'm usually skeptical about breakfast sandwiches, but this place was so good! I ordered The Softy which was scrambled eggs with chives, bacon, cheese, and "crack sauce" on a bun. The bacon was thin and crispy, my fave. The sauce was also really delicious! Whenever a restaurant lists some type of house sauce I'm usually expecting something similar to thousand island. I was surprised to taste a sauce closer to aioli. Love! The portion was perfect, the sandwich held itself together, and was overall amazing. I'm addicted, so I'm definitely a crackhead now.

Yelp
Fun spot for some drinks! I love the vibes, very trendy and a popular Carlsbad local spot. They have a couple of yummy bites, but crackheads is known for their drinks and being a fun spot! Bartenders are hard works and very efficient! They give great recs, and want everybody to have a fun time. You can stay here for 20 mins or for 3 hours!

Yelp
We came here for breakfast! What an excellent choice! We sat at the rooftop. Nice view of the city. I ordered the avocado toast. It was so good! I also ordered a cocktail called cracksicle. It was very good. My brother in law ordered a breakfast burrito and my sister got a breakfast sandwich. The food was excellent. Our server was very attentive. The service was great! I would definitely comeback for breakfast.

Aubree K.

Yelp
I love Crackheads! The drinks are great and the happy hour doesn't disappoint. I love the bacon & cucumber guac- it tastes delicious and it's a healthy option! It's a fun place to hang out too. Cool turf patio with music. Definitely recommend this spot!

Yelp
I would give the food here a 3/5, but the location, vibes, and service were 5/5! I got the crack burger, which was okay but I don't think the ingredients blended very well together. I'm a lover of burgers with an egg inside, but this one didn't mesh well with the rest of the burger. We also tried the mini corn dogs and breakfast tots. They both were pretty good! The tots were so loaded that they were a bit soggy and didn't have that crunch to them. My boyfriend got the spice girl breakfast sandwich and I think I would recommend that one over all others. They have a nice outdoor area which is dog friendly. We brought our dog and she loved it there!
google avatar

Deanne H.

Yelp
The cracksicle. Is. Perfect. It is crave worthy and something of dreams. Ample space outdoors and on a rooftop patio as well. Food options but the drinks are really the highlight. Kid friendly picnic bench style seating and two top high tables. Service is always very friendly.

Yelp
Best breakfast burrito of my entire life. The cracksauce & their salsa are also some of the best condiments of my life. The woman who helped me was incredibly kind & gave my dog so much love as we're evacuated from the LA fires & he's been having a hard time. Just such a beyond perfect experience here & will be coming back down from LA just to revisit!!

Yelp
We needed a quick breakfast on our way out of town to the airport and were in the mood for a breakfast sandwich and a place open early so we picked this place. I should have taken photos of the ambiance because it's a really cool 2-story outdoor place (bar by night). My only complaint is that they don't have a menu available. When asked if they have a menu, the employee said "go to crackheads.com." No QR code, even? I got the breakfast sandwich with the chives. It was perfection. The sauce was delicious, bacon was perfectly crispy and the eggs were soft scrambled deliciousness. The hubs got the Wilbur, which he said the fennel sausage was delicious. Worth a visit!

Yelp
This is a fun little bar in Carlsbad village. There's a great bar seating area downstairs, dog friendly, and open to the beautiful weather. All seating is outside, no inside seating. The rooftop deck seating area has a quirky, two horse trailer (I think it's an additional bar), and views of the local area. If it gets chilly, there are several propane heaters to keep you warm, although...it would be nice if they offered blankets (I've been to several bars that do this, and it's an awesome concept). This place offers food, but I simply wanted a fun place to sit, watch the sunset, and have a lovely cocktail. All-in-all this place is a fun, family friendly place to enjoy the company of good people, and enjoy some delicious libations. Ambiance: casual Service: excellent Cleanliness: clean Reservations: none Outdoor seating only

Yelp
I AM ONE WITHOUT A LATTE (4 stars) - DRINKS: yum - PRICE: fair - SERVICE: friendly - AMBIANCE: outdoor and cute I came here because of the sign. Walking around Carlsbad one bright early weekend morning and saw this and had to order something to say I ordered something! Did you know they use Copa Vida beans for their espresso! Now you know. By the way I love Copa Vida beans. I didn't know either until u saw them pouring beans out from a Copa Vida bag. DECAF VANILLA LATTE - The barista wasn't sure about the decaf beans being Swiss Water Processed but I know Copa Vida doesn't use harsh chemicals to decaf their beans. In fact, they do Mountain Water Processed IS CHEMICAL-FREE. So yes, Copa Vida has clean decaf beans. How do I know this stuff? I been obsessed with decaf for decades now. DOG TREATS - my little fur ball was with me and she was able to get free treats from Ceackheads. They create their own dog treats (and sell them) and my dog was able to sample them and she loved them! Will def be back when in the area. Until the next review...

Yelp
Place was nice and had nice atmosphere plus the upper level area was cool. But I wish they had more food options that being said it is a small spot so I understand why they won't. Bar was full and I got my drink in less than 2 minutes.

Yelp
Super cute atmosphere, breakfast sandwiches were a big hit with our group. Service was good, attentive and friendly.

Yelp
Placed a food order and tried to order a latte and the espresso machine is broken. Ordered an $8 kombucha and that came out in a plastic cup full ice liquid maybe would come out to a 1/2 cup of liquid. None of the heat lamps were on and it's 46 out. We asked the bartender to turn them on she told us the barista does it. The barista who was in charge of food orders told me the bartender can turn on the lamps. So basically no heat lamps for anyone. Signs on the lamps say don't turn on yourself. We waited close to 30 minutes for food. When we received our food the eggs were extremely over cooked. Nothing was seasoned with salt. Food was extremely dry and lacked flavor. When I went back to return the food the barista was extremely professional and nice (she was the best part of the experience) and we were refunded for our food. I think for such a nice place they are missing the mark. Broken coffee machine, small drink portions, and bad food.

Yelp
I've been here many times & have always enjoyed it. I generally get the original crackheads sandwich and an iced brown sugar cinnamon latte. Always good, always not a bit left. The service is competent and usually efficient. I like people watching from a high top and find that it's overall a lovely place to enjoy some alone time or meeting up with a friend. Long time customer who will absolutely be back.

Yelp
Had an order of 9 burritos and took approximately 5ever to make. They got a few of the orders wrong as well:/. Overall thoughts of the Breakfast Burrito:Perfect sized burrito. Thought the tortilla could be grilled longer. Wrap job was a little loose-- I like mine nice and tight. Sausage was fire, good flavor-- I just needed more. Same with the tater tots- I'd like a little more and for them to be slightly crispier. Good amount of eggs though. sausage and tots could be more distributed through out the rito. Additions: I liked that I could add additions to my breakfast burrito for only 50 cents a piece. And Ortega chiles! How niche. Added. Super wack that their burritos dont default come with tots.. :/ Price was decent too! One of the most notable things was the SALSA! I was very skeptical hearing that their salsa was good cuz this wasn't a truly authentic Mexican restaurant. HOWEVER the salsas we freaking AMAZING. Excellent flavor, heat, and thickness (not too watery). The crack sauce (aioli) was good but super rich. Would eat here again and 4 sure recommend

Yelp
We stumbled upon this place during the rain and the vibes did not disappoint. The bartenders are extremely fun and know how to have a conversation and everybody in the bar was super nice. This is an outside location, but there is covering over it. I would bring a jacket on a chilly day. The drinks are well worth it, and tasted amazing. I had the honey Chamoy margarita, and would've definitely had more!

Yelp
This is such a great spot in Carlsbad village! From evening cocktails to a casual brunch, Crackheads is a great option. The cracksicle is not overly sweet and a delicious treat, and their breakfast sandwiches are great too! Although not listed on the menu, they do have gluten free bread available for their sandwiches. Drinks and food are also very reasonably priced for the location and quality. Staff has always been friendly and attentive, this has become a go to spot lately!
google avatar

Troy K.

Yelp
I am new to the Carlsbad area and looking for my "spot". This place has the right location and atmosphere, but lacks with service, strong drinks and regular food. Good place to have a spicy margarita, but would not plan an evening here. Food is all breakfast items. Overall 3.5 star place but never been given a reason to round up to 4.
google avatar

Yelp
Cool coastal bar in Carlsbad that has an adjacent food option...the beers are good with a nice selection on tap...the food, ordered at a separate window, was on point and in line price wise..the sliders were very good as were the chicken tenders..outdoor seating as well as an upstairs area that looked to be covered in the event of inclement weather...would return in future, RECOMMEND

Lorena B.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, location and prices. Food - average. Not bad, but not great. I would say that this is a place to get drinks, unless you are starving - order food. Service is usually good, unless they are busy, might take a little longer....
google avatar

Nicholas B.

Yelp
Great breakfast burrito! My buddies and I sat up top after a wild weekend and this place was a much needed great morning treat! I would recommend to anyone! The crack sauce was okay!
google avatar

Yelp
Great spot for drinks, close to the beach! Nice staff and their bar food is top notch

Yelp
We came here for drinks after having brunch, they are outdoor, dog-friendly, and family-friendly spots where you can also get coffee (if the cafe is still open). They play good music and have a TV for sports. There were 6 of us and our server was friendly, knowledgeable about the products, and made food recommendations. Our drinks came fast and they were good. In the afternoon they had a taco stand and you could smell all the goodness they were cooking.
google avatar

Kathy Z.

Yelp
From the ambiance to the food to the drinks, this place shines. It's an outdoorsy joint with easy access to public restrooms and a prime spot for weekend festivals and farmers markets. Service was not quite as attentive as you'd expect, but they seem to be understaffed and doing the best they can on a busy weekend morning. Your options are to order at the bar, or get table service at the high tops or bench seats. We opted for the latter. The breakfast burrito and crackhead breakfast sandwich were amazing. The honey lavender latte and cold brew were amazing. I'd come back again and again if I could. Great prices, too!

Yelp
Fun atmosphere, good drinks, dog friendly in a good location in Carlsbad Village. We are fans!

Yelp
I loved the environment of this place, the outdoor seating the relaxing environment. The owners of this place really knew how to do it! The food is good too, it's basic good breakfast food. I would definitely come here again.

Yelp
This place is called Crackheads ... what more/else could you want from a breakfast spot? Located in the open lot in downtown Carlsbad, Crackheads joins an outdoor bar and a coffee spot in a great location that walkers and beach goers can readily enjoy the sunshine and breezes while eating breakfast fare with their dogs or strollers in tow. I came with my wife on the tail end of a vacation night away from the kids. After seeing their entry here on Yelp, I knew exactly how to finish up our trip on the town. First, we split the Breakfast Burrito, which was basic in concept, but still very well made and pretty tasty. With plenty of sausage and cheese, it was nice and greasy, and the tater tots gave it some welcome chew. About the only thing I would recommend or like to see if we come back would be more of a selection in proteins or sauces that you can get on the inside. Not sure why, but I feel like sausage gravy should always be a breakfast option. Next up on the table were the Breakfast Tots. These were simple, well-fried, loaded with cheese, bacon, and sausage, and coated with both a well cooked egg and a nice, cream sauce (Crack Sauce, as the menu puts it). The pair of us fought over bites of this dish and I personally liked it so much that I ended up shredding some leftover Honey and Balsamic Pork and made some loaded tater tots of my own at home. This alone is worth coming back out to Carlsbad for in the future. And to top it all off, the woman behind the counter was knowledgable about the menu and great to talk to. If you had to search for a detraction, it would be the presence of so many flies buzzing around. But, that can easily be forgiven due to the location. All in all, it was a great breakfast and a nice end to our trip. Until we come back and I can sample those sandwiches to know different, this place is easily a strong four stars for me.

Yelp
Chill atmosphere and good tasting food. The only negative is the train blaring the horn but it didn't bother me as much as it bugged my family. Berlynn helped us out and she had an amazing personality, she made our first time experience wonderful. Definitely recommend early in the morning and on a weekday where it's not as busy.
google avatar

Yelp
I visited on a beautiful Sunday morning. The seating is open and the environment is lively. They have a variety of coffee and latt as well and a few brunch items. There is a bar where you can order mimosas. The service was very fast and the staff is friendly. The food was amazing, adding avocado to the breakfast burritos is a must as well as asking for hot sauce if you like your food spicy. This a cute brunch place I will definitely come back to.
google avatar

Yelp
Such a fun find! We took the girls & our 2 dogs - the breakfast burritos were AMAZING, which keeps this rating from being a 4. My hubby's avocado toast was crazy overflowing with chives, but not much avocado so I think he'd give that dish a 3.5. Our waitress was lovely & accommodating & even tho it was overcast & in the 60s, the space heaters & fire pit made for warm ambiance. Would recommend (just not the avocado toast)!
google avatar

Olivia T.

Yelp
We loved their breakfast sandwich and burrito!! We got the Crackhead breakfast sandwich - the bun was soft and fluffy, the bacon was perfectly cooked, melty cheddar and I really liked that the egg was over medium... that is my preferred doneness for yolks because I'm one of the few who don't really care for a runny, messy yolk. The breakfast burrito was exactly how I always wish every breakfast burrito could be - generous amount of melted cheese and the eggs, bacon, sausage and tots were all mixed together so that every bite was THE PERFECT BITE!! Also their hot salsa that came with the burrito was soooo tasty and delicious on the burrito! We can't wait to come back here!!
google avatar

Matt G.

Yelp
AMAZING BREAKFAST BURRITO - Enough said! I highly recommend this spot for a quick breakfast or a long brunch with mimosas and bloody's. Pro tip: - ask for some extra crack sauce - beat the crowds and get there around 9 am - their nitro cold brew will give you life!!
google avatar

Yelp
We loved this place ever since it opened but last several times it takes a half hour to get a breakfast burrito. Today it took 40 minutes. Won't be back unfortunately

Loved this place! Had the delicious breakfast tots, and a Cracksickle cocktail! Wonderful staff too!

Yelp
Okay so I didn't get a chance to dine-in yet... but I'm definitely going too soon! My wedding was on Saturday and to hurry and grab a quick bite to eat that wasn't junk food or fast food my sisters bf went and picked us up breakfast from there. I got the avocado toast with an over medium cooked egged and omg it was heaven!!!!!! My only thing is they could put a touch less chives... it was too much for my taste but still absolutely so amazingly good! Here is the food in the to-go box. Will leave another review of the place when I get the chance to dine-in.

Yelp
Off the list. I've eaten here many times in the past few years for weekend brunch and lunch and it was always good. Today was a complete disappointment. It was a weekday holiday, not very busy. Nobody up top and only a few tables below. There were no servers and no menus this time, you had to scan a code and fight through the often nonresponsive menu site and then order at the counter. Okay fine, whatever, maybe they run it differently on weekdays. The single staffer at the register was nice at least, no complaints there. But the food took over 30 minutes to come out and was tasteless and cold. We had to add salt, pepper and hot sauce for it to have any flavor. The avocado had no detectable seasoning, and the tots were so cold the cheese had solidified and we had to saw through it with the ridiculously small and flimsy plastic utensils that were provided. When we ate here before, at least we had real metal utensils. I don't know what happened here but we most likely will not be coming back.

Yelp
Wandering around Carlsbad Village, I noticed this cute coffee bar and saw that they served food as well. It was a great find! The staff were so great and friendly. The service excellent. This is fast casual service...you order and pay, they bring the food and beverage out to you. Seating is all outdoor. This place is obviously popular with locals. Lots of friends meeting up, with children in tow. The latte was perfect and the sandwich delicious! I had a very pleasant time people watching and enjoying a leisurely breakfast. It is located centrally in the old downtown business neighborhood.
google avatar

Yelp
I love hanging out with friends here! They have a really great cocktail list (if you're like me and love an easy, sweet drink, get the cosmosis jones, it's like an amazing pomegranate lemonade) and the vibe is always very relaxed and cozy, even on busy nights. I love how spacious their seating areas are, and that they're dog friendly, so you can meet a lot of cute pups here. I haven't gotten the opportunity to try the food yet, but the bar service is always friendly and prompt. Plus this place is in the perfect spot to add to your weekend bar crawl list.

Josimar G.

Yelp
Amazing lunch spot! Love their food. Service and ambience are great. Would recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is a great place to get brunch! Located near the beach in Carlsbad. A little loud when the train rolls In but the food and the customer service makes up for it. We like to get here in the early morning to beat the mob! I haven't tried their coffee yet, but everyone who's here always orders them, and they all look yummy. We like to go for more of a protein style breakfast and we get the chicken sandwiches. 10/10 would go back and get again. They have heat lamps and picnic style benches and you offer at the front booth
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious food, great quality customer service. Enjoyed sitting outside and enjoying the neighborhood atmosphere.

Yelp
We went here last weekend after making a weekend trip out to Oceanside! We were looking for a place that we thought would be rather quick as we had our newborn baby with us. This place took FORVEVER. I would consider my husband and I rather patient people and by the time our food came I had almost completely lost it. I would say it took a good 30-40 minutes for it to come out after we ordered. Once the food came out it was decent. It wasn't bad and it wasn't good. We would not come here again after this experience.
google avatar

Norberto S.

Yelp
Little place in the Carlsbad village, service is utterly horrible, bartenders prefer to talk to themselves than to customers. Drinks are low quality, no effort in making them. Food is mediocre and i would never go back for it.
google avatar

C J.

Yelp
All day breakfast sammiches!! What's not to love? Hilarious how there was one recent review who complained about it being nothing but breakfast food-guy, it's literally in the name. Everything is going to have an egg in it. Anywho, rant aside, vibes are awesome, and boy are all the drinks here delicious!
google avatar

Sarah K.

Yelp
A cute brunch spot in the heart of Carlsbad village! Food: definitely errs on the side of breakfast/brunch menu items with a fun drink selection. We got the breakfast burrito with additions of avocado and tater tots -- greasy, filling, and heavy on the eggs! While it was pretty tasty, I'd say there wasn't anything too special to the burrito itself. The side of salsa however was surprisingly good and had a slight kick to it! Also got the crack burger with its side of fries -- this was VERY delicious with a burger patty topped with an egg and nicely offset by the sweet pickles. Fries were a little underwhelming, but as a support character to the burger, it'll do Service: we originally thought we order at the bar or little shack cashier but were redirected to sit first and wait for a waitress to come by. Ended up at the top deck (pro tip: bring a jacket it's windy up there). Food took some time to come out but we were in no rush so we didn't mind. Main qualms are that we weren't really checked in on besides the initial order and one waitress accidentally threw away my friend's remaining burrito while we were paying on the iPad sadly. Although I probably will not return, I think this is a solid spot for a North County local or even a tourist to try out for a quick lunch or some drinks!
google avatar

Jay J.

Yelp
If you ever find yourself in Carlsbad Village and in need of some libations, then Crackheads is definitely a spot to stop. All outdoor seating, that is fun and convenient for people of all types. Our crew routinely stops here and we love enjoying the mimosas. You can't really go wrong at this place. Great ambiance for all, singles, couples, family and even fur babies.

Yelp
Wow!!!! What a great stop and super dog friendly! Loaded tater tot bowl (feeds 2) for breakfast with a strong coffee was a great ways to start our day!
