Google
The absolute best spot for all things craft beer and more. 100% my go to. A great selection, a knowledgeable and lovely staff, and an amazing restaurant and space next door to boot. Just top notch. Go and thank me later. Sláinte. 🍻

Google
I love the amazing variety of beers, sours, hard kombucha, you name it there!! You can get them all individually, so you can try beers without committing to a whole pack. The staff is helpful and friendly, as well. The only problem with this place is deciding what you want!

Google
Boston area never ceases to amaze me with their beer selections, and CBC Belmont is no exception. They pack their store FULL with everything you can want to find in craft beer. They occasionally do tastings of newly carried beers - perfect to try things new.

A simple fare of delicious food. The curry wurst was like I was visiting Germany again. The Jägerspätzle was great. The mushroom sauce aline was worth the trip.

Google
Great beer selections from just about any other state!! We found several of our favorites from NYC and down south 😍. Great service!! This store was amazing. There were a lot of selections for any price range and any special occasion. It's worth the drive ❤️ thank you for stocking our favorite wines and beers 🍻 😀

My fiancé and I are in town for our friend’s wedding and part of the festivities were held the Craft Beer Cellar the night before the wedding as a chance for everyone to get together and have some beer and food and catch up with old friends. Our experience was incredible. This venue is beautiful and comfortable, extremely warm and welcoming. The food was excellent and the beer selection was top notch. But by far the aspect of the evening that impressed me more than anything was the young man assigned to the room, Charles. We have worked in the restaurant and catering industry for a long time and to say that he did a good job would be an understatement. From the minute we stepped through the door we were greeted by his genuine smile and welcoming attitude. There was a big crowd but he handled it effortlessly and with a cordiality and professionalism that is rare. I don’t write a lot of reviews but felt compelled to after receiving such amazing service. Unfortunately, I don’t make it to this area very often, but next time I do, the Craft Beer Cellar will be on the list of places to visit simply because of the fabulous experience we had last night.

Had a lot of fun exploring the shop and looking for beers for a special occasion. The guys were so helpful! Got a high five at the end. Will definitely return!

Google
Great selection of craft brews. They also have some awesome stuff in kegs!

Charles M.

Yelp
This place is run by two wonderful owners who know their stuff. They absolutely started the mix your own six pack phenom in the spirit of letting people try new beers without having to buy a whole six...or four. Good people.

Dil S.

Yelp
Have been looking for a while around CT and MA for a beer store with as much great selection and passion as Oliver's brew crew in Albany, NY. This is it. Grab a single brew or 4 different ones in a variety pack. Can't beat the top notch domestic and international options. Swing by for them hosting a local brewery or grab some grub at Trinktisch! They even deliver.

Chris G.

Yelp
They have a very solid selection of beers to try I'm always impressed when I can get a good variety of stouts and porters and they definitely have that. I went by a couple of days ago and grab six different styles to give a try and I've tried four of them so far. One I really like the other three were OK one was actually not so good in my opinion. It was sad because it's a local company and I want to say good things but I just didn't like it too much perhaps maybe someone else might like it more. The people working there are friendly and they always have beer tasting events and other activities. Currently their check in offer is a free beer glass so I need to go back there and grab that. In the meantime I'll try the other couple of beers I have not tried yet, and I'll let you know what I think.

Roz W.

Yelp
Rather than apologizing for her repeated rudeness (& never a thank you following a purchase), the owner responds with an implication that I yelled at her or used aggressive body language, etc. Oh my. I couldn't be more soft spoken. I am very happy never to shop there again.

Ana P.

Yelp
Staff was extremely knowledgeable about selection and flavor notes and texture consistencies. The store was well stocked with a great selection of beers for drinkers of every profile. Everyone was wearing ppe and the store was very clean. From the outside it looks like a little hole in the wall but I would say it was a great stop for craft beer drinkers. It had a beer that my bf had been looking for for years and he was very happy.

Kelly C.

Yelp
My cousin lives down the street and raved about this place the other night, so I snuck in on my way out of town. You can dismantle the 4- or 6-packs to make your own, which I always appreciate because I don't like buying big packs of things I've never tried. It's not a huge location but they've got quite a variety and tons of local (or local-ish) breweries I had never heard of. The prices are a bit higher than at other venues but I'm not sure if that's because it's Boston area or because it's a craft beer spot, or both maybe? Anyway. This will be part of my regular rotation from now on when I'm in the area.

Gloria R.

Yelp
Amazing collection and the ladies are super well informed about the differebt types of beers and the regions! Highly recommended

J W.

Yelp
This place is amazing! Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Unbelievable selection of beers, but also meads, wines, everything really. I have (on many occasions) gone into the store and said "We're having (pick a cuisine) for dinner, what do you recommend?" And without fail anyone on staff will have at least three recommendations for a pairing. The cream on top? They deliver too... so if you're having a big backyard BBQ this summer, have them recommend their favorites, but it online and they'll deliver it; Kegs too! Seriously, run, don't want to this great establishment! They're dog friendly too... you'll def see me and my Dogo there soon!

Trey K.

Yelp
I love excellent beer and I love love love Craft Beer Cellar. The beer selection is amazing and well-organized by region and style. The prices are reasonable and clearly visible, and the entire staff is expert at recommendations. The owners, Kate and Suzanne, are awesome, friendly, and they also (obviously) love good beer. During the Covid-19 crisis, they've been offering free same-day delivery. I just ordered a bunch of DIPA's and it was delivered two hours later by... Kate! Check out their website (and their store, when the pandemic is over)... you won't be disappointed!

Maddy R.

Yelp
Excellent inventory and great people!! Whatever you want or want to bring they can more than help your palate

Scott G.

Yelp
I just wanted express my appreciation for the team here. These folks are working until midnight in a pandemic to get product out the door. I'll have an amazing delivery on Thursday thanks to the team here.

Meredith D.

Yelp
I attended a virtual beer tasting with Allo last night and it was fantastic! It is clear how passionate he is about beer and sharing his love with everyone. It was a delicious selection of beer that I wouldn't have tried on my own. I will definitely join again for another tasting night!

Joe S.

Yelp
These folks provided the most above and beyond customer service I've ever experienced - completely shattered my expectations and were just amazing people overall. Really like to support the smaller businesses and they are at the top of my list for how a business like that can really make the difference for the individual shopper. Would give 100 stars if I could.

Jeremy K.

Yelp
Stepping into Craft Beer Cellar for the first time was like walking into a holy sanctuary dedicated to craft beer. Out of respect, I almost took my shoes off as I carefully perused their numerous offerings and shelves while in search for a few things to pickup. I could almost see myself praying to the gods of hops for some KBS? Or maybe some Zombie Dust? Nope? Oh well. This store is absolutely incredible, very well stocked and features a friendly and helpful staff. They have an ever-rotating selection of seasonal beers and also have an entire section dedicated to imports. From macro and micros, and occasional nanos, they seem to have it all. Breweries like Finch (Chicago), Grey Sail (Rhode Island) and various others get a chance to share the spotlight with more established breweries like Founders, Stone and many others. So whether you're in the market for a single beer, a six pack or even a couple of bottles. this is probably one of the best specialty craft beer stores in the Boston area. They also have glassware, a few ciders and meads and best of all, you can also split up any packs you see there and create your own mix of cans and bottles. Definitely a must visit for any beer fans out there.

Sara C.

Yelp
Great selection, easy to order online, and I really appreciated their delivery service this past year and a half.

William B.

Yelp
Consistently the best beer selection in the Boston Area. The staff is fantastic and always have great recommendations. The classes and tasting events they put on are fun and super informative. Having access to delivery in Cambridge (especially during a pandemic) is awesome.

Tom L.

Yelp
What an amazing store here folks. Incredible variety/selection in the limited space that is the Craft Beer Cellar. Kate and Suzanne are always there to assist with your needs, very responsive to feedback or inquiries and all of the beer is the freshest you will find in the state. Glassware, hot sauces, mustards, wine too to fill this place in such a perfect way. Very organized and clean. Prices are very reasonable and they have a nice amount of coolers to keep certain styles as fresh as can be. Plenty of beer tastings each week will keep you coming back again and again. Recommend you check it out. You will be so glad you did.

C G.

Yelp
Kate and her team did a great job selecting and delivering a surprise birthday present for my husband's 70th. I specified what I wanted (stouts & porters) and a dollar amount, and when I would like it delivered. It worked out perfectly! During these stay-at-home days, it was hard to shop for him, so the beer was a big hit.

Nolan K.

Yelp
A phenomenal experience turned in. A few days before I was hosting a Christmas party for beerheads, I stumbled across the CBC: Belmont online. After consulting some of my invited guests, thought it'd be fun to all choose some beers and place an order that it'd go pick up the morning of the function. The best part about the CBC isn't just their wide selection, but you can buy single cans as well. So 24 hours prior to the party, I placed a fairly large order and swiftly had an email pop up in my inbox. Would I like them to be delivered to my doorstep for free? Uhhh, yes please. Within two hours my beers were at my doostep. The delivery guy was super friendly and offered to lug them in the house for us. A+ customer service from start to finish. I'll definitely be using CBC again in the future!

Sea H.

Yelp
Distinctive selection and great atmosphere here. Very knowledgable staff and great conversation. If you like to cook and want to know what to serve up with your meal, I wouldn't hesitate coming here to get some feedback. They certainly know their stuff!

Kirsten E.

Yelp
Got a chance to switch out our keg tonight and was so delighted to get acquainted with this charming place! The owners are so friendly and helpful and the session IPA we got in our keg is perfect. Can't wait to go back!

Mary C.

Yelp
Love this place! Suzanne and Kate are THE best, and all of the staff are helpful and knowledgeable. We stop in this store every time we are in town to check out what's new, and my fiance always looks forward to it, too. The people are a delight, and the selection is amazing.

Jake M.

Yelp
Don't waste your time. I recommend going to any of the hundreds of cheaper places that sell craft beer in the area. Selection is not worth the price.

Ryan M.

Yelp
This is without question my new favorite place in all of Greater Boston. I've been driving out from Southie to buy my beer here because it is the only place around with such a top notch selection. One thing i really appreciate, is that not only do the (obvsiouly) support the craft beer movement, but they are huge supporters of local breweries. They certainly opened my eyes to how many breweries Massachusetts has to offer. I think the most key thing about the store, is that you can buy single bottles out of ANY 6 pack to create your own! This is more than helpful when exploring new brewers and beer styles and i have come across some amazing stuff. Everything in the store is beautifully organized and the owners Kate and Suzanne are always very helpful with recommendations. Be forewarned tho, don't go there looking for Bud Lite or Corona, you will be very disappointed! haha Keep being awesome!

Allison R.

Yelp
I just died and went to craft beer heaven. (See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrJky8YuTr4) Wow. A new Rogue I'd never seen, my favorite Pretty Things, more Saisons than I could shake a block of Chimay cheese at, and Old Chub hot sauce? Yes. Yes. Yes. You can buy beer by the bottle! It's OKAY not to buy 6 packs! I dreamed about a store like this. I wanted to open one to fill a void (and share my love for craft beer with the world). The ladies at CBC (yup, we're on abbreviated name terms after only one date) have filled it. Who knew? Now I do, and will die happy, my stomach full of good beer.

Mike W.

Yelp
I travel to Boston for business on a fairly regular basis. When I do, one of the first places I try to stop in is Craft Beer Cellar. They are, hands down, the best beer store I have ever had the pleasure to frequent. The selection here is so expansive that without their knowledgeable staff it could be overwhelming. The staff is always ready to help and answer any questions you may have. If you need help selecting some beer, just tell them what you like and they will be able to guide you to some outstanding selections. There is literally something here for everyone. In a word, this place is awesome. Check it out if you are in the area.

Rebecca H.

Yelp
Opened only five months ago, the Craft Beer Cellar in Belmont center is a find and hopefully will be around for a long time to come. The name of the place says it all but it could also be called beer nirvana. Serious home brewers and beer snobs will cheer, novices will feel welcome. If there is a craft beer you love, they have it. If there is a craft beer that is good that you don't know you love yet, they have it. For example, we walked out of there with some Triple Carmelite, Trappistes Rochefort 8, Westmalle Triple, Ovila Dubbel, Cape Ann Fisherman's brew, and Trinity Beer Company's IPA. Woot! The owners are so welcoming and know their stuff and there seems to be fun events and tastings happening all the time. So, if you are in the area check it out and if you aren't it is worth the drive. Consider it a grown-up field trip. You will not be disappointed.

Rich D.

Yelp
This is a craft beer lovers Nirvana. It truly is an exceptionally outstanding gem of a store. Service: I have not received such a fantastic level of customer service in a retail environment in my LIFE as I received here. The two owners were friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and knew when to give a customer space to browse. I was looking for a case of something specific, which happened to have been out of stock from the distributor that week, and they literally called the distributor right then and there to order it! She even tried to have it sent ahead of schedule. She really went out of her way to help me out, and it wasn't even on a particularly expensive item...which brings me to my next point... Price: Completely reasonable and actually lower than what I'm used to for the area. A case of something that I've paid over $40 for eslewhere was only $33, and it seems that they offer a 10% discount on any case. Not bad at all. Selection: Let me put it this way: I stopped in for a quick gander and stayed for over 45 minutes, just completely sucked in like a kid in a candy store, overwhelmed with all of the things that I'd been looking for elsewhere with no luck. I needed to restrain myself from loading up my credit card with tons of beer, convincing myself "its ok, this store will still be here next week, they will still have a ton of awesome beer to buy then..." Its also apparent that if they don't have something, they will do their best to get it for you. As mentioned they've also got a small wine selection, but I admit that I didn't look at it. They do let you mix and match 6 packs, and they do sell small bottles individually as well, which for someone like me, who just enjoys trying tons of beer, but doesn't need lots of it, is perfect. They also have a small table in the back that looks like it may be used for sampling or something similar. It is extremely rare to come across a business run as well as this. Admittedly, its only been open for a very short time, so its possible that things may change. But having spoken to the owners, I find that extremely unlikely. Craft Beer Cellar is a rare example of a small business done right, with great service, a great atmosphere, fair prices, and a wide selection of products. I look forward to spending all of my beer dollars there, and frankly am happy to hand over my hard earned dollars to the well-deserving management.

Martin B.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places on the planet, hands-down, and I'm shocked (shocked, I say!) that I haven't given them a review yet. There's no better beer store in the state of Massachusetts - heck, there may be no better beer store on the East Coast. And, it's in Belmont. So I can walk there. This has been horrible for my wallet. What can I say? We all have our habits. Mine involves hops. The owners, Kate and Suzanne, know their beer & they love people. They'll spend as much time as you need, helping you pick out something new that will appeal to you, and - hopefully if you're willing - expand your experience. They're hugely supportive of the local beer scene, host tastings multiple nights per week from breweries down the street and across the planet, and have a huge focus on customer loyalty. The selection can't be beaten - there may be beer stores with more of a variety somewhere on the planet (that's hard to imagine) - but the sheer uniqueness of some of what they stock takes them to a league above the Julio's of the world (not to knock Julio's, but from a service/ cleanliness / _only_ craft beer selection, there's no comparison). Also, the freshness - you'll never grab a beer here that's oxidized. Stuff turns over fast. They're dead-serious about only doing craft beer - they'll drop a brewery if they feel like they've strayed out of that description. The glass selection, as well, is fantastic. Also, make sure you ask to be put in your system - every $150 you spend will get you 10% off you can use on a following purchase. Don't ask how many times I've rounded that corner by now... Go there. Now. Thank me later (with, say, a 6 of Orabelle). I'll be at the Brewmaster Jack tasting tonight, if you want to hand that over to me tonight...

Jake M.

Yelp
The first time I crossed the threshold of Craft Beer Cellar, I cried. True story. I'm also not ashamed to admit that this has occurred every time I've been since. Everyone could use a good cry every now and then - mine just happens to be whenever I need a six pack of top shelf craft beer.

JOHN C.

Yelp
The other reviews don't lie...Easily the best beer store in Boston and definitely one of the best that I've ever been to in the US. Kate & Suzanne are super nice and have done an amazing job in creating a beer store where there is zero swill. Furthermore, they keep up to the minute inventory on their web site, tweet all of cool new stuff as it comes in (as well as beer tastings that they have in the store), and will special order pretty much anything for you. Finally, being a specialty shop like this, one might expect their prices to be on the higher side...Not the case at all. Very fair and, in many cases, their prices are lower than some of the big stores that are around. Seriously, what more can you ask for (aside from additional locations)?

Annabelle B.

Yelp
Really nice employees who are very knowledgeable, but without making me feel like I shouldn't be in there if I'm not a professional brewer. A great selection of brews, many from the region but also from abroad and across the country, and at very reasonable prices. They just opened up after a history in the restaurant biz, so I bet they'd give great recs for food pairings. Tastings happen once or twice a week, which I plan to go to asap!

Dave M.

Yelp
What?! Craft Beer for days? No need to deal with the insane traffic patterns of other places? Yes please. Great store, great people. They know their beers, they love the craft, and they are the ones to talk to if you are needing to know about anything. If you're buying in Mass., buy here.

Fern H.

Yelp
This place is like a candy store for beer lovers! Tonnes of craft brewery choices - I was honestly overwhelmed. I just wanted to take one of each. We came in on a Friday night to pick up some brews. They had a beer tasting going on from Abita Brewery out of New Orleans. Friendly beer rep. told us a bit about the brewery and we got to sample 3 of their beers. We decided to go with a 6 pack of the Abita Pecan ($10.50) and a mix pack of 6 different beers. Loved that we could just grab any beer instead of committing to a 6 pack of the same ones. Awesome place to shop for those who are not Bud Light fans!

Ariel E.

Yelp
After walking back and forth in front of CBC for a few months, I finally walked in. And wow. They had Monk's Cafe Flemish Beer, which I haven't seen since I lived down the block from--yes--Monk's Cafe. The owners were awesome. They also have some local ciders, fruit-based beers and wines, mead, and melomels. I'm so happy the beer mothership decided to land in my town.

Catherine T.

Yelp
They really do have an excellent range of beers. The only minuses are - They do not have a good selection of low or non-alcoholic beers. As someone who loves beer but can't take too much alcohol a range of 3% and under beers (for example session ales) would be wonderful. - They can get sniffy if you say the wrong thing. I once asked about a Pilsner Urquell and got a lecture about how they don't sell it as it is owned by Anheuser Busch. That is all fine but I would have appreciated an alternative recommendation rather than the lecture.

Sean D.

Yelp
I consider myself very lucky to have the luxury of such a high caliber selection of beer from which to choose in my little town. In fact, I could walk to the store if it weren't for the fact that I know myself too well and I'm consistently walking out of the store with at least two handpicked six-packs which I would have to lug for a couple miles. My sloth and other deficiencies aside, this place is truly atop a heap of package stores or liquor stores which I begrudgingly must put in the same category. Do not go looking for your everyday domestic swill that is produced in such large quantities that if a single day's production were to spill out - it would drown the entire Milwaukee area, nor should you even expect to find products from the larger import brands. Their selection is made by brewers local, domestic and from afar that carefully make small batch products from high quality exotic ingredients and cater to discerning palates rather than those just looking for a case of anything to last the weekend. The store often hosts tastings from various brewers who are small and might not otherwise be able to reach their target audience. These tastings are posted on a website that is kept up to date including their stock with efficiency that even Amazon should envy. Lastly, is the crowning jewel - the staff. All that I've encountered are genuinely warm and willing to help without pretentiousness or pressure to purchase anything. The owners, Kate and Suzanne, are angels - energetic and wonderfully willing to talk to anyone. They should truly be proud of the business they've only recently created.

Jeff D.

Yelp
This is one of if not THE best place in Boston to buy beer. If they don't have what you are looking for they can probably find it for you. Kate and Suzanne know beer inside and out and they are constantly rotating in new brewers and styles. They have beer tastings several times a week as well. I used to use the store to cut through to the parking lot, but I have to use Subway now. I can walk through Subway without buying anything.

Bobby C.

Yelp
Dreams do come true some time. Love their British selection. Life is more than the three colour of Chimay. Even harder to find are the friendly and knowledgeable staff. You can buy the beer by the bottle. A great way to go through their vast selection merrily in a reasonable time frame. I suggest starting from the top left hand corner of the shelf and work you way through the columns. See you at the end of the tunnel.

Dana S.

Yelp
Went there on a whim waiting for my son . Great place- super nice staff- GREAT wild selection. Make the trip.

Jay J.

Yelp
Rejoice. I originally came here a month or so ago on a friend's recommendation and after seeing the reviews on Yelp knew I had to visit. Since then I have been back a few more times. Each time I cannot make it out of the store without magically becoming $50 lighter. The ladies that run/own the store are a pleasure to talk to. They love beer and love people who love beer, so I love them. Craft Beer Cellar has all the hard to find and small batch beers and more that a lot of the other better liquor stores in the area have but with no pretense. Need a recommendation? Have a dumb question? Just ask them! A few months ago before I even came to the store for the first time I called them and asked about getting a bottle of Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA. Of course it is difficult to find and they did not have any left at the time, but offered to put me on a list for the next batch. Last week out of the blue they made good on their word and called me when some came in. Awesome. I left work early that day :] Every few days there is a beer tasting so check out the website for the schedule. Last Friday was Ommegang and I believe Stone is coming up later this month, with many more in between (Tröegs, Brooklyn, Lagunitas, etc). Summary: Buy your non-BMC beer here.

Darwin G.

Yelp
A beer heaven. So glad I came here during my trip up to Boston. You drive onto Leonard St., Belmont, you are introduced to a quaint and adorable New England street of little shops and restaurants. Walking into the store, they have a fantastic selection. Some breweries that rival the East Coast distribution of Philadelphia and New York. Jack's Abby is a must try when in Massachusetts. Their hoppy lagers are a great spin on American craft's obsession with IPAs. (Other recommendations include Red Betty and Boulevard Tank 7.) Everything can be bought as a singe bottle (even beers in six packs in plastic rings). Prices are quite reasonable. A must visit when you're near Boston.

Lyndsey C.

Yelp
Really really great selection of beers and ciders... not much else but these guys know their beer and are happy to show you around, discuss things with you, help you, and just chat. Super nice staff. Worth the trip and if you need/want random beers, this is your place!

Dorise H.

Yelp
This beer shop is worth the trek to Belmont, for sure. Especially for a PUMPKIN BEER FESTIVAL. Like whoa. Taste-tested about 15 different Pumpkin Beers (with accompanying pumpkin bread, yum), and left about $60 poorer with a whole crate of alcohol. Big ups for: ~Pumpkin shandy (yeah, you heard me) ~Divisions of 6-packs!!! Soooooo so great ~Halloween costumes at the end of September. Cuz why not.

Caleb L.

Yelp
A truly amazing beer store. You can make your own 4 or 6 pack from anything you can find in the store, which is a fantastic was to taste through their impressive inventory. The staff are very helpful, the owners are clearly passionate about their craft and I'm just thankful something like this opened up in Belmont Center. Go here, grab a recycled 6 pack container at the front door and treat yourself!

J G.

Yelp
Went in yesterday with my son who knows a lot more about beer than I do. We met one of the owners who was so inviting and knowledgeable. She spent time getting to know our tastes and making suggestions that she felt we would like and she was right! Everything we tasted was delicious. You can't beat their selection and service. Great experience. Will definitely be back.

Lucas S.

Yelp
Great selection many l had never seen before. Staff seem to know their stuff and enjoy what they are doing. Very close to home which is another added bonus. I thought the prices were a tad high but it is downtown Belmont and I will return for sure.

Lauren M.

Yelp
Just got back to my apartment with Allison R & we are enjoying some Slumbrew Happy Sol. Great citrusy unfiltered brew with blood orange! I found a lot at the Craft Beer Cellar. All my favorites Weinstefaner, Allagash, UFO, Purple Haze, my soon to be favorite- Saison du Pont. They also had this sick blueberry soda I remembered from a trip to Bar Harbor. Next time I'll look for some Fox Barrel pear cider, that's good stuff, too. Overall, after my first trip I am totally impressed. I walked out with 6 or 7 beers, all different, for $20- and one was a $10 Saison, crazy! I will be back :) I

Yelp
This IS the beer geek Nirvana! We installed a fancy beer system in the office and my buddy recommended we give CBC a try to supply us with our brews. I never thought this level of beer knowledge and service still exists. Not only these folks stock about every darn rare beer you want, but they can get hold of some even more rare kegs. Kate is our beer sensei and I don't think we will ever need to look for another place. We are yet to catch her off-guard with a request. She knows more about beers and breweries than most beer geeks I consider my friends. Go see them once. You will understand what I am talking about!
