Recently Closed Proof Announces Pop-Up at Taurus Beer and Whiskey House | Eater Miami

"Just days after serving what it dubbed its final meal, Proof is reopening temporarily at Coconut Grove’s Taurus Beer and Whisk(e)y House starting Friday, April 20. The pop-up menu will feature many of the restaurant’s fan favorites — including the shaved brussel sprout salad and truffle pizza — alongside new dishes like a short rib pizza and dips such as charred eggplant and an aged cheddar fonduta. Its famous burger will return but only on Wednesdays, with just 24 sold each Wednesday, and none of Proof’s popular pastas will be included on this temporary menu. The pop-up is run in partnership with Michael Beltran (chef behind Ariete), will last a minimum of six months (possibly longer), and has these hours: 6–11 p.m. Sunday and Tuesday through Thursday; 5 p.m.–1 a.m. Friday and Saturday; 2 p.m. barbecue Sunday. Closed Mondays." - Olee Fowler

Google
Craft Miami exceeded my expectations! Our server Julieta was friendly and provided good recommendations. The food was excellent. The pizza was perfectly crisp with that wood-fired flavor you can’t beat, and the Post-Apocalyptic Brunch plate was such a fun and flavorful combo, every bite hit! I also have to shout out the cappuccino… rich, smooth, and beautifully made.

Google
Excellent restaurant for brunch or a quick meal and food to the franchise in terms of the quality and flavor of the food and spectacular presentation. This particular location was somewhat lacking in service. It was both difficult to get seated, and although our order was taken quickly, and the food was served properly, there was no attention to us after that. I have eaten two other locations where the food is equally delicious, but the service was spectacular so this stood out here. I had to flag the wait staff down for beverages and waited more than a half hour for my check after eating. However, the food is so good here that mediocre service can be overlooked, but where the food is equally good at the other locations and the service was notably better I think I would prefer to go to South Miami or Coral Gables. As I was writing a review the waitress did come by and offer me a complementary coffee on the house. I am not sure if this was done because you noticed I was reviewing But I will get the benefit of the doubt and say it’s quite welcome. Overall rating of four stars for the food and a friendly although spotty service. How many stars do you give?

We came to the coconut grove location Sunday at 10:30 with no reservation. Having said that, the place was very empty so they were able to sit a part of 6 minor attitude from the only person that was sitting and taking orders. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. For some reason she could not hear one person’s order so we had to check every single time that she had all the orders in before she left. Food was good and tasty. The portions are the right size, including the post apocalyptic breakfast. This one includes a little bit of everything on the breakfast/brunch menu. For me, the best was the avocado toast! The granola with fruits was also very delicious. There is an automatic 20% tip added for groups of 6 or more which is fine but not so fine when the service has been zero to nonexistent. In any case, the food was good so maybe we just need to try their other locations.

We love to check out new weekend brunch jot spots for our cheat day, and Craft is FIRE! We’ve been to the Craft in So Miami, and today we chose Coconut Grove as our destination of choice. The Grove atmosphere abounds here and we chose to sit inside this time. Be forewarned—inside is LOUD acoustics! But, no matter, that’s not our focus. We are here for our brunch cocktails and FOOD! We started with Grey Goose Bloody Marys. Great beginning! I chose my go to “LOCO”, which is THE best chicken & Waffles in the Grove! Yaaaaas, chicken is the perfect crunch and still juicy, atop fluffy waffles with maple syrup, next to fresh spiced watermelon chunk with greek yogurt dressing. The best of all worlds! Hubby chose post apocalyptic brunch plate. He loves that! He also had a macchiato. Prices are commensurate for the area, it will set you back, but it is a fun way to spend early afternoon with your chosen people on a random Weekend. Shout out to Julieta, a lovely fine staff member—attentive, and made it enjoyable. Others checked in on us and all went well. Overall a SOLID choice among MANY in this area of Miami! Thanks for following me, Tami in Miami

Enjoy a very relaxing and delicious breakfast. The French toast was excellent as was the Croque Madam. We will definitely be back. Juliet’s did a wonderful job as our waitress as well.

We ordered the meatballs. They were bland but our wonderful waitress, Josefina brought us oregano, salt and pepper to jazz it up. Thank you, Josefina for your kind and prompt service!

Google
Craft is a great cafe with delicious food and drinks! Enjoyed a breakfast sandwhich, double bacon cheeseburger which was amazing, and some goat cheese balls! Everything was outstanding. I was able to substitute for a gluten free bun. Nicolas our waiter / bartender was awesome, very friendly and helpful in deciding what to order. Must have the Americano coffee as it comes with a bite size brownie each time! 🤣👍☕️ Plenty of areas to sit inside and outside. Street and parking garage available.

Yelp
This breezy little place offers truly delectable small bites as well as filling brunch/breakfast and heftier meals, including pasta dishes, pizzas, and salads. I had the Croque madame and my friend had the Verde, with avocado and all sorts of delicious fresh fruits. I had a high-quality Illy cappuccino and my friend had an oat milk latte. Both were great! Service was friendly and efficient and the prices are reasonable l. We sat out on the patio area and did some people watching as we ate. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
A large group of us came to CRAFT for dinner and were seated outside. We liked being able to make a reservation for 10 people and appreciated their flexibility when we had to change our reservation time. The food was tasty and the portions were huge! I got the sandwich with Prosciutto, Fresh Mozzarella, Arugula, Tomato, Aioli, and Balsamic Glaze. It came with a hefty side of fries which I ended up not being able to finish. I also shared the Roasted Cauliflower appetizer, which had Romesco sauce, Cherry Tomato Confit, Garlic Panko. I was in love with this appetizer and could have several more rounds of it. All of the flavors were there and the Romesco sauce was a star. Some friends at the table got the Pulled Pork salad and it was ginormous! Definitely good bang for your buck at CRAFT.

Yelp
All the items are now available! They finally were able to acquire their liquor license. Fausto & Julieta are exceptional bartenders. Manuel is no longer working there.

Yelp
the food is great. i definetly recommend the verde toast and the cauliflower appetizer and the vegetable pizza. the french toast is also really good with the caramelized bananas. any food you order will be good from here. the only issue is the wait... it takes so long to place your order and get your food. very slow service. but the ambiance is really laid back for a casual brunch bc you could wear anything it's very casual. i saw people wearing sweatpants and some in sundresses.

Yelp
Great burgers - full of flavor! The fries are yummy too! Also, a great attentive staff - CRAFT is a must!

Yelp
We came with a big party for a nice brunch spot for our families wedding. There is inside and outdoor seating. We sat outside and had a buffet style breakfast. Eggs, bacon, toast, oatmeal, fruits, and pancakes were all served and delicious! The servers were very attentive to all of our needs. A great breakfast experience!

Yelp
I came with a group of 10 for dinner on a Saturday night. We had a reservation, but had to move it back. They were super accommodating of the change and sat us outside on a cute patio section. The restaurant was largely empty, but fortunately the food was very good! A friend and I split a caprese pizza and a grilled shrimp salad and loved both. The pizza was tasty and came with a delicious aioli that tasted amazing with the crust. The shrimp on the salad was cooked really well and the salads are so full of toppings, they're almost like bowls. Super filling! The espresso martinis were yum and overall the service was efficient. The only note is, when calling ahead to change the reservation, a staff member said he'd have a "big surprise," but at dinner, the birthday went unacknowledged. Not sure what happened, but overall yummy, easy dinner spot.

Yelp
We went for a late breakfast and were seated promptly. The ambiance was very casual and we were able to sit outside. We ordered our drinks and our entrees. I had the Croque Madam sandwich with a side salad and it was really good. The flavor was on point and it was very tasty. My husband had the breakfast sandwich and it looked really good. I'd definitely recommend this place for breakfast or lunch.

Yelp
Julieta, Fausto and the rest of the staff welcomed us with open arms as if we were part of the family. The atmosphere is very pleasant, spotless and very spacious with both indoor and outdoor seating options. The food was delicious; the provoletta, beef stew and the baked salmon were stellar - the pizza was exceptional. The wine menu is varied and has a little bit for everyone's palette. We live a block away so we'll definitely be visiting soon. Thank you all for such a wonderful dining experience. Sebastian, ivette and Nina

Yelp
The Omelette was dry with all the ingredients equally segregated into their own section of the omelette, and the worst part were the i"caramelized ONIONS", which were so slimy, it was reminiscent of a bloated beached whale spewing out it's guts onto tourist. I really wanted to love this place but its clear the chef doesn't love his potential customers. The food was bland and don't get me started on their coffee. I really wish they didn't have such a broad menu and just focus on a few plates and make them special. The poor servers did the best they could with such bad food, they are just getting caught in the cross-fire.

Yelp
The food is amazing. And yet the people are enough to make me never go back. I've picked up 2 orders from the coral gables location and each time they act like I'm invisible. Truly great acting because I'm pretty hard to miss in public. I walk in and no one even greets me much less makes eye contact, or asks if I've been helped. I have to grab someone by the arm just to get them to acknowledge me. Then I have to chase someone else down to get my food from the kitchen. There is never a "please," "thank you," or any type of pleasantry. I tried the coconut Grove location and it started off even worse: As I was walking in the waitress was walking out with her hands full, so naturally I held the door for her. Girly didn't even make eye contact much less say "thank you." Fine. As another waiter is trying to ignore me and walk past, I have to grab him by the arm: I have to physically stop someone to get service there. Fine. I'd have to be a masochist to give this place any more of my money or presence. Should I try another location just to see if they've actually been formally trained to treat me like dirt?

Yelp
New spot in grove at the old Pauloligi spot. Excellent service. Nice menu. Quick. Lovely staff who were grateful for new local customers. We will definitely be back. AND they are on the In Kind app!

Yelp
Not great. The burger was small, over cooked and dry with semi burnt sweet potato fries. My friend had a chicken sandwich and was happy with her choice, but I don't think I will be back.

Yelp
So here I am on a Monday, and I order a pizza from the specials section. About halfway through eating my pizza there's a gentleman next to me that orders a pizza to-go also under the special section. my server, (which is the same server) informs him that it's actually not a special today because it's a holiday, but neglect to tell me that before I order the pizza. Apparently I'm not understanding something correctly here because there's even a sign posted outside, which I've posted below that shows pizzas are on special on Mondays with no fine print or exclusions noted. Now the staff has been wonderful and friendly, and to be honest that the pizza was great, but I feel like this was a frankly simple, but stupid mistake. I even questioned it after I overheard the gentleman next to me ordering the pizza and their response to him. I mentioned that it would've been lovely to know that ahead of time and didn't get much of a reply from either my server or the other server also listening to the conversation. No apology and nothing comped from the bill to justify said mistake. Customer service like this offsets and otherwise wonderful experience. Will not return.
