14 New York Bars Where You Can Watch Football | Eater

"For Long Island locals, Craft Kitchen & Tap House is a top-notch spot to catch any game. The food menu is solid — be sure to try the Mexican street corn dip if you’re a fan of elote and esquites. If you’re a rum fan, you can’t miss the opportunity to order the apple mule, made with Captain Morgan Spiced Apple Rum." - Julia Gómez Kramer

We wanted to try this place for the first time and man what a disappointment. The ambiance was not it , the place was dirty and sticky. The menu looked amazing and the picture online. Idk how but the food had no taste. I order The Sedona salad. The chicken felt stale , almost like it wasn’t suppose to be used for a salad and was stale from the other day. And no taste even with dressing. My bf had the brisket sandwich. It was greasy and salty. It was almost like they had corn-beef and just threw bbq on it and called it a brisket. Our waitress was okay, she avoided us the whole time and just didn’t look happy . Overall pictures can be deceiving. Don’t do it. Update: my boyfriend was throwing up all night 😣

Stopped in for a quick lunch. Service was fast and attentive to our table. This was a first experience at this restaurant and I was impressed. Food and drink options were just right making ordering easy. Appetizers arrived quickly and with good timing before the meals arrived. Large screen televisions would make this location a fun spot to watch your favorite game at with friends.

Google
Perfect for friends and family. For happy hour or dinner with the fam. A lot of TVs to watch your favorite sports teams. Service was great. Our server had a great personality. Staff was abundant for a Wednesday night. They also have (2) rooms for private party’s. Dress is casual.

Let's start by saying, the was was nice and very well could've been overwhelmed - so I'll give service a 3 star this time around to be fair. My wife asked for three waters while I was parking the car (parking is AWFUL - drove around for at least twenty minutes until accidentally finding there was a municipal parking lot in the rear). Only two waters were brought out and took about thirty more to finally get it (albeit a bigger glass for the wait). Waiting was the big portion of review here as it was painstakingly slow... again, they may have been understaffed, it just didn't seem too crowded. We sat outside in the front, it was a beautiful day - so that was a clear WIN. The food came out however long later and we realized that there were no napkins or utensils on the table... hence waiting until we could eventually flag someone down to ask for them. The Steak sandwich was hearty and delicious - Fries were a WIN... the nachos were tasty; however all the love went directly on top as opposed to the layering process that is so important to the successful nachos. Pulled pork sandwich got no complaints either. Food was tasty - I'd visit again; but not regularly as I don't have that time to wait! Good for having with friends, family or a quick drink - bar seemed to be popping inside.

We just held a baby shower here and everything was perfect! The party room is a great size for the 40 people we had attend. Dennis the manager was very accommodating and professional from the moment we inquired about having the party there. The brunch was delicious and all the staff were so friendly!

This place is the best!! I love the food, music and vibe. Ask for Laura she is the BEST - makes it a great experience every time

Danielle L.

Google
Hosted my sisters baby shower. Everything was 10/10. Food, service, ambiance. Private loft with its own bar and plenty of display space. Extra shout out to the bartender Jesse and waitstaff. Absolutely lovely people.

Adrienne K.

Google
Definitely disappointed in my experience. The guacamole has almost no taste - same for the chips that come with it. Some of the most bland guac I have ever had. I got The Alexa for my main entree and the cibatta roll bottom was a literal rock - I couldn't bite it. I also asked them not to put Prosciutto on and they did not read the instructions from the waitress. Thank god I am not allergic because when they set it down in front of me they said "alexa, no prosciutto" so I didn't check but ask I was eating, I discovered it. I politely told the waitress to inform the kitchen they messed up but didn't need a new sandwich and was thinking we would get a small discount or something but nope. They messed up and didn't offer anything as an apology. Bad customer service. I was not blown away - will not return.

Yelp
Craft hosted my sisters baby shower and I would highly recommend. Dennis, the events coordinator was amazing to work with, the cost was reasonable and the brunch was excellent. They have a private space with a bar and the waitstaff were absolutely lovely. 10/10!

Thomas S.

Yelp
The food is very good and the fries are very excellent and sometimes it could be too loud in the place but other than that, it's great. The food is good. The cookies are good. Everything everything is delicious and the water everything everything's all fresh.

Yelp
A fantastic restaurant bar, perfect for brunch with friends! The service was top-notch, making the experience even more enjoyable. I had the corned beef special sandwich--absolutely delicious and especially fitting with St. Patrick's Day around the corner. The mules were perfectly balanced and refreshing. Plus, they offer a great selection of cocktails, wine, and beer on tap, making it a great spot for any occasion. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This is a two part review! The first part of my review is when I went tot lunch. I ordered the ciabatta sandwich. It consisted of grilled chicken, avocado, crispy prosciutto, tomato, basil and garlic aioli. It was so delish. It was served with fries that were also good. The second part of my review is for a private party that I hosted here. I threw my boyfriend a surprise 40th birthday and everything was great! Steve, the manger was great and responsive to all of my inquiries to make sure I had everything I wanted and how I wanted the party to be. For food I selected Caesar salad, roasted potatoes, penne ala vodka, sausage and peppers and garlic and rosemary chicken. Instead of the garlic and rosemary chicken, there was chicken franchise instead. I didn't say anything (so this is on me), but the chicken franchise was still delicious. All of the food served was very good! Everyone said the food was very good! Which I have to agree on. All the staff at the party was wonderful. I highly recommend coming here for a party or for meal!

Yelp
yummy food. had my brothers bday here and service & food was great. super accommodating and our waitress, lacy, was adorable. usually the fam can't eat out bc of moms allergies but she LOVED her salad

Yelp
We are from Los Angeles visiting our daughter who moved to Seaford and she took us here for lunch. Service was great, menu was big, great happy hour options, and a HUGE beer menu! We got a pretzel to share which was huge and freshly made. Our daughter got the spinach artichoke dip as her main which she liked, I got the arugula and beet salad which was fresh and delicious, and my husband got the pig tacos and thought they were great! The place was clean and open, we sat on the patio with the windows open so it was nice to get the fresh air!

Phil B.

Yelp
Great food and atmosphere. Singers on Fridays are worth the visit. Live sports games always showing, table service quick and on point.
google avatar

Albert V.

Yelp
Food was good and drinks too! Sat us separate from the main bar being that we came with our little one which was nice!
google avatar

Chadlany S.

Yelp
Great bar, perfect to watch sport, has the best Irish menu i have ever seen nachos has actual roast beef. 13 flat screen TV speed out throughout the bar. Servers was very nice and attentive. If you are looking for a good sport bar this is a go to.
google avatar

Jamie S.

Yelp
Craft was crowded and lively when I ate there in a Friday night! Food is pretty good, I definitely liked my short rib mac. I really enjoyed having the open air option with the nice weather too.
google avatar

John F.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place, it's our go to spot when we just wanna grab a good meal and a beer. The services is always spot on and the places very cool, with live music on Friday nights and I believe Saturday nights as well. You must go, all the craft spots are tremendous.

Fuad C.

Yelp
Food and service was amazing. Owner/manager knew we loved the hot sauce and gave us a sample to take which I think was so kind. Sadly I left my take home box :( but that was my fault. CKT smash burger is huge and amazing. Love the balsamic vinaigrette for the salad as a side. daughter loved their huge chicken tenders portion. Wife loved the turkey burger. Excellent drafts and great cocktail Choices. Loved this place

Yelp
Need to start off with this was not a good experience. Called in an order for pickup. Arrive at time I was told, foods not ready, fine, no big deal, I rather wait a moment or so for the food, than have it waiting for me and get cold if I arrive afterwards. This wait was a little long though, about 15 minutes longer than planned. Food comes out, I ask to confirm that there is bleu cheese and ranch for the wings, as the last time placed an order to-go, the bleu cheese and ranch, wasnt there. Hostess is kind enough to look through the bags, doesnt see it, admits they're probably there, but she doesnt see them, i'm sorry, huh, how are they there then? I push it once more and she gets from the kitchen, awesome, great, thank you. Get home, unpack the food. Lets dive into that. -Spinach and artichoke dip - nice portion size, filled most of the container, not that great, tasted mass produced and was nothing special. the chips had a good amount of salt to them, they were good. -sweet chili calamari - not cooked great, the sweet chili sauce wasn't too bad, but overall, not great. -wings - chose the garlic parm option, the garlic parm sauce was on the bottom, and the wings weren't coated in it. thankfully the wings were cooked fine, and there was bleu cheese to dunk it in that I had to make sure was there.. but having to scrap the sauce from the bottom made the experience not that great. -mediterranean platter - this was 'okay', but why did you put this in a larger to-go container, when you put other stuff in smaller containers, and the container was half empty? pita was difficult to chew, clearly sat most of the day, wasn't reheated, not good. -warrior burger - overcooked, tots were soggy, bun was wet, no thank you. -smash burger thingy - redeeming quality on the menu, but the burgers weren't exactly smashed thin, it's like the person forgot to push all the way down, could have been better, prob the best thing of the night, which isn't saying much, including a somehow flat pickle cut lengthwise... -shrimp tacos - woof, now, this was absolutely one of the worst things i've ever seen or tasted. The shrimp, if i had to guess, came out of one of those pro-cooked frozen packs, almost like you'd get at Costco. wasn't breaded, wasn't grilled, wasn't pan fried, nothing. i took a bite, someone else with me took a bite, and we spit it out, and threw it out. this was absolutely atrocious. This experience from start to finish, wasn't great. Will not come back.

Yelp
Unfortunately not a fan of this restaurant. The spinach dip was the only thing I enjoyed here along with the fries. My boyfriend ordered Philly cheese steak and he didn't like it at all. I ordered the tacos and I didn't like them one bit. I took a bite and that was it, I didn't finish it. He also ordered stuffed clams which he did like. The quesadilla was not good at all. The live music was extremely loud and sorry but it wasn't good at all. The service was terrible as well, we were not happy at all.

Danielle F.

Yelp
Had brunch there on a Sunday morning. 2 of the 4 of us who ate got sick immediately after eating from the brunch menu and drinking 1 cocktail mixed with their juices. Would recommend skipping out on the food and any drink made with juice here. When we told the waitress the drinks didn't taste right while eating she shrugged her shoulders and said the bartenders made it correctly. When a manager finally returned my call after 2 calls to them, he was not terribly sympathetic, said it could be just "another stomach virus" as his kids were sick with that recently... and didn't offer anything to make it right. The 2 people who got sick did not just do happen to be totally fine beforehand and then get sick immediately after eating their food/ drinking 1 mixed drink each. Will not be returning to eat/ drink here in the future.

Yelp
The food was fresh and delish . A very cool ambiance and they need more helpers . My poor waitress was spinning I love the feel of the place and great mortals

Yelp
Being a bourbon enthusaist, I was shocked to see so many hard to find allocated bottles behind the bar. On to the food. Had a burger it was cooked perfectly the way I ordered it. Onion rings also excellent. They have a huge selection of beers on tap as well as a great selection of IPA'S. Had a delicious old fashioned which was made well and they used great cherries. Hate when they use maraschino cherries in a cocktail. Save those for ice cream lol . Would recommend Craft for a good burger and beer.

S E.

Yelp
Buffalo Chicken Egg roles were not good. Chicken was rubbery and didn't taste good. Our waitress was so rude which is the reason we'll probably not come back. It seemed that she was annoyed that we came in at 7pm. Service slow to get a bottle of beer it took 20 minutes so we went to the bar because she took her apron off and was sitting at the bar and then the bartender said if we have a server and we said yea then the lady came over. The final straw that did it for me was when we paid and she kept trying to rush us out. And when she came to take the book I told her we didn't fill it out yet and she lets out a massive sigh and walked away, not sure if she knows but that's just rude lol.

Yelp
Went here this summer before a jones beach concert food was very good beer was very cold service was great told server we needed to make a show she was on it quick love the vibe in there I e been back great little place

Bryan B.

Yelp
Its a better bar than it is restaurant. Never had a good meal, but the bar is a load of fun. Tons of tap beer. The upstairs is fun as well, but would benefit to have a bar up there. Sure they thought of that though.

Just M.

Yelp
Pleasant staff, food was very good. Definitely. would return. My only issue and it is a common complaint from me. What ever happened to serving a draft beer with a nice head. My beer was excellently chilled. As a beer drinker when a beer arrives looking flat it has little appeal and draws away from the overall experience.
google avatar

Mary Kate G.

Yelp
Went for appetizers ordered nachos and spinach artichoke dip. However received guacamole and chips. Barmaid was sweet so felt bad telling her that was not what we ordered. Had a spicy margarita too. Super spicy. We will be back Very sweet staff

Yelp
Absolutely blown away by this menu! I've been to the lynbrook location, years ago... but I realized they changed their menu completely. My friend and I went yesterday for lunch. Fantastic! We started off with the mac and cheese bites and the Buffalo chicken egg rolls. You can tell they're made fresh, in house. So flavorful and delicious! Gabby was tending the bar and she was great! I had a few cosmos and my friend had the old fashion. Both made perfectly. We both had the open faced veggie sandwich and it was incredible! Nice sized portion for lunch as well. We will definitely be back, especially since they have specials throughout the week! Check this place out!!

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday to watch the football games. It's a really nice bar with lots of TVs and a great craft beer selection. The parking situation here is awful, so be aware. They have football specials that include beer and wings. The wings here are pretty good, and our whole party enjoyed them. We also ordered the fried pickles, which weren't very good, we couldn't finish them. We also ordered the steak tidbits for the table, and they weren't very good either. It was one small piece of meat on a soft piece of bread with some cheese melted on it. I would not order them again. Overall, if you wanted to come here for beer and wings and watch a game, it would be a good choice.
google avatar

Patrick C.

Yelp
Cool place to get a drink and watch a game. Food is subpar. Stick to something like a burger.

Jessica P.

Yelp
Everyone here was super nice. Good atmosphere and energy, the live music was good too. It is VERY loud I lost my voice screaming talking to one of my friends after only an hour in here, but that's to be expected on a Friday night I suppose. My main complaint is that I got two green tea shots- they were both half shots at best in tiny little cups- and my vodka cranberry didn't taste like it had any alcohol at all. I would check it out again though!

The Oven P.

Yelp
Big big fan of this place. It's always packed, which is a good thing. Big bar, couple bartenders that sling drinks all night. But what I go to Craft for isn't the great bar atmosphere, or the games on the tvs all over the wall, I go for the Turkey Burger entree. Perfect amount of feta and turkey and whatever sauce they use, sheeesh. French fries are on point also. Like I said, always packed but if you can get a good spot at the bar for football Sunday, they have some unbelievable wings to choose from also. Out of the 8 Wantagh bars I can think of, if you're looking for good eats, in no particular order you got Craft, Bunker Hill & Boss Crokers, just go get smashed at the others all day and night and stumble into Crokers when the others close... And check out The Oven Podcast to see where we eat and who we eat with! www.theovenpod.com

Kris M.

Yelp
We came in as a party of 5 and received nothing but excellent service and wonderful food. Anthony, one of the owners, came over to our table several times. He constantly was making sure we were pleased with the food and service. Additionally, I watched the way he moved around the floor attending to every table. This is what a TRUE Manager or Owner should be doing, but to see it first hand is just amazing! Myself and my family will absolutely be returning as often as possible.
google avatar

Edward H.

Yelp
The sliders in the happy hour were delicious, attentive bartenders, nice ambiance, many return trips

Diana M.

Yelp
Tables are way too close to one another. Their menu is minimal, Service on a scale 1-10. Is rated a 5, Food is like your typical burger joint! Cocktails are the same as anywhere else, nothing really stands out! Prices are moderate

Soonia M.

Yelp
Everything was amazing . Food was delicious. Service was great. Atmosphere was lovely
google avatar

Adriana T.

Yelp
The food and the service here was great. I had the steak Tibbets on garlic bread. They were excellent. We also shared a brownie sundae, which was delicious. We will come back.
google avatar

Patrick O.

Yelp
Great wings ; and the bartender I believe Cathy was pretty friendly and made great drinks and conversation.
google avatar

Barbara L.

Yelp
Came by for some drinks and apps on a weekday and it was pretty busy. Downstairs was nearly packed so we went upstairs to eat. We had some typical bar food which was good, but honestly nothing special (expected for a bar, so no hating on that). Mac and cheese was a bit underwhelming for $18 on Long Island. The Thai calamari was pretty good, just a bit overcooked. The holiday decor was cozy. I'm sure a lot of locals regularly stop by, so it's worth a visit. They have some nice weekly specials and have live music at times. Check it out.
google avatar

Lisa E.

Yelp
Large open space with enough TV's to make everyone happy. Great place to watch a game. Parking lot sucks, so be alert. Friendly staff, decent menu. Lee and I shared the nachos on house made potato chips... they were ok but not memorable. Very decent tap list. Huge amount of seating on the ground floor and back up in the Annex. Small overhang for live music. They have a big location in Lynbrook as well. This was Hemingway's for most of my life, just a bit north of the Wantagh train station in an area only few square blocks large but flooded with pubs. Happy Hour sign was hidden. Check it out.
google avatar

Meghan R.

Yelp
Been to their Lynbrook location before. But since this one is closer and just opened we decided to try it out. We came on Sunday to watch the game and were seated upstairs where there were lots of families. We were curious why we didn't get to sit downstairs but we stayed upstairs anyways- lots of tvs around. They had football specials that were inclusive of drink deals and a few menu items. Best deal was 10 wings for $5 and the Founders beer for $4. We ordered the wedge salad and pizza off the regular menu too. Everything was delish. Except for the pizza. It was super thin but they just drenched it in cheese. Sauce was very sweet too. Also the beers are more like craft beers so just a heads up. Our waitress was great and attentive and kept our drinks full as well. And never felt rushed when watching the game :).
google avatar

John M.

Yelp
Food options are creative and fantastic. Christina was our waitress. She was great with a nice sense of humor. Great atmosphere. Multi level dining. Near LIRR.
google avatar

Noel P.

Yelp
This place is outstanding for acoustic music and hanging out with a lot of friends and family. It's definitely a good atmosphere also great for booking events.

Daniele O.

Yelp
Love the food at this cozy restaurant, convenient to Wantagh train station! Great service in addition to tasty food and good drinks! Reasonable prices as well and great Happy Hour specials! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Okay so over all the experience was nice. I give em 5 stars because it was cool. Sat at the Bar, Tim & Gabby were nice. Had to flag em down but it was a busy night I got the fried pickles and calamari pickles weren't cut right 10/10 wouldn't order again. Calamari though was a lot I would order again def sauceless with sauce on the side. Burger was okay, Nothing to write home about But idk spent 97$ with drinks and food and two apps Was I satisfied food wise maybe but just know When trying a new place aim for happy hour Whenever possible. I would go back maybe for apps Not entrees, didn't really stand out much for entrees But I give five stars cause of Tim and Gabby Good folks! And the security was black and nodded back Which I appreciated he also told me to drive safe That's good people right there!

Vin P.

Yelp
This was my first time at Craft. I didn't know what to expect. What I got wasn't much. First, the waitress brought us to our dirty table. She left us standing there and left. We decided we'd better sit down while they were prepping it because we were in the way of everyone else. I asked for water and got a lukewarm bottle with no ice. The food was good, no complaints. The place was extremely noisy with a sound speaker in the ceiling over our table. It was next to impossible to hold a conversation. With the large selection of other restaurants and pubs in the area. It is suffice to say, we won't be back.
google avatar

Karen C.

Yelp
Our Office had a Holiday Gathering at Craft Kitchen & Tap House - The bar was active and we had a table for our group. An Assortment of Appetizers were ordered and hand held foods were set out on the table. Everything tasted great and the bar staff was attentive and friendly. Fun time with colleagues.
google avatar

Kristy R.

Yelp
Great beer list. Outdoor seating. Friendly staff. Great food. It's hard to hit all of those marks but Craft does it and they do it very well. They had the Unicorn Farts beer I had been wanting to try so that alone made me happy (edible glitter in a beer? sign me up!). For food we decided to split a bunch of apps which ended up being a very good and very filling decision. The Philly cheesesteak rolls were way more delicious than I expected them to be. The Mediterranean platter was excellent. The loaded fries were good but would probably skip the next time. And the pretzel was decent. Seriously this is the place to be if you want craft beer and food you won't feel so bad about HAVING to order under COVID rules. Really solid place that I cannot wait to return to.
google avatar

Brittany B.

Yelp
The atmosphere is always worth coming for! The live music is such a nice touch to the experience of the restaurant. The food is very good, flavorful, filling, and delicious! The service was a tad off, I ordered a Black Cherry White Claw, but they were either out of it or they opened the wrong one and gave me Mango. I couldn't hear over the loud music, but I drank it anyway. I asked for a glass of ice so I can pour it out of the can and it didn't arrive until 20-30 minutes after I asked for it. My brother ordered the Sangria and there was barely any fruit in it. Maybe it was a busy night because it was a Saturday, so I will definitely check out this place again.
google avatar

Beth F.

Yelp
I haven't been here recently so I don't think a review would b accurate. It is popular but at the time we thought it was trying to b something it's not with prices to match. There is plenty of parking and I would try it again.

Mia P.

Yelp
First time coming here and I loved it. Service was great and food was delicious. I loved it how they had live music playing. The owner Anthony introduced himself to us, asking us how our food and drinks were. I will definitely be going back to this place with my friends at night.
google avatar

Sam R.

Yelp
Took too long to be noticed to be seated, and took way too long to get the check. Table wasn't level, and steak tibits were a bit dry, needed gravy which isn't offered, fries were okay. Good beer selection. There are better choices.

Abominable D.

Yelp
We were very excited to join our two friends a couple of weeks ago at this newly opened place. The original Lynbrook outpost had decent reviews. And if nothing else, we figured anything had to be better than the now-closed Hemingway's, which had deteriorated into a local spot to have a drink and maybe -- MAYBE -- an occasional bar snack. With excitement and great anticipation, this is what we thought and hoped for. We were wrong and disappointed. My friend responsibly called ahead to see if we needed reservations and was advised that they only take them for parties of 6 or more and that they already accepted their limit as they did not want the kitchen to get slammed. Fair enough I guess. So we show up on a Tuesday night believing we would have a 30-45 minute wait. Plenty of open tables upon arrival. They were filled...slowly (so as not to slam the kitchen?). But to our delight it was only 20 minutes until we were seated. Drinks served it was time to order. For apps, we shared the onion blossom and the Mediterranean platter. The former was done very well, with decent kick to the dipping sauce. The latter, however, made me feel sad. Presentation was sloppy. A small pile over over-salted hummus stood meekly next to a mountain of carelessly fractured feta cheese. The olives were ordinary. The baba ganoush was nowhere to be found. But a waitress must have overheard me pointing this out to my friend because a small saucer of baba arrived out of the blue. All in all, not even close to "taking a dish we love and upgrading it." On to the mains we went. I wanted to try the Gateway Sandwich. I could not. As soon as the words left my lips the waitress advised the kitchen is out of that. "It's only 7:00pm and they ran out?", I ask. She said they had been out of brisket since Sunday. I guess it was too much to run out to the store and buy some on Monday or Tuesday before service. Retreating unprepared to the menu, I aimlessly follow the lead of my wife and friends and selected a burger -- the French Onion, med-well. My wife ordered the Warrior med-well, with a request to please not stupidly put the tater tots on the bun; put them on the side where they belong. One friend ordered the Turkey burger, and the other the Bull, med-rare. Food arrives. My burger is med-rare. The beer cheese completely overpowered the gruyere; the onions needed a heck of a lot more caramelization to even come close to "French Onion" in flavor. A sloppy mashed up mess to eat. Big thumbs down. More on the supposed fries in a second. My wife's burger was also incorrectly cooked med-rare, and also incorrectly had the tater tots piled high on the patty and bun. 5th graders pile tots on burgers in school cafeterias. If this is Craft's idea of "innovating a classic favorite" it's childish and pathetic. The Turkey burger was murdered and dried out on the grill to the dismay of our friend. I hate turkey burgers even when they are cooked right. And our Bull burger friend's requested med-rare patty came -- you guessed it -- med-well. That the kitchen was able to meticulously botch the service temperatures on all three beef burgers is astounding. Then there are the so-called French Fries that three of us were served. I draw your attention to exhibit A, the pic I attached with this review. Thank God my wife received a boatload of perfectly prepared tater tots that she shared with us because what came out of that kitchen -- those soggy, greasy, burnt remnants of what undoubtedly was once a perfectly fine potato -- were not French Fries. They were disgraceful. That a line cook, chef, expediter, and / or manager would allow that to go out to customers is uncaring and unnerving. A quick note on service. It was okay except for the manager or owner or whomever the guy running around in a collared shirt was. He came over shortly after the mains arrived to see if we were okay and needed anything else. Smart move since we had yet to dig in and did not realize how un-okay we were about to become. But we did need something: ketchup. The bottle on our table was empty. He said he would get it for us "right away." He didn't. And after that we only had fleeting sightings of him at other tables, no doubt believing he's checking off the customer service box, oblivious to the fact that he was not being helpful or adding any value. Two stars instead of one because my friends remain hopeful they'll get their act together. I am less certain given that their errors -- cooking a burger to order and frying a French Fry properly -- should be table stakes for a pub serving grub. Hemingway's ghost still looms large in this space, and right now this is lipstick on a pig. It's nothing more than a local spot to get a drink and maybe -- MAYBE -- an occasional bar snack.

Yelp
After a stroll with Lisa E. around Mill Pond, I went to Yelp to find a sports bar to watch the Penn State game, while Lisa had her hair done. There were a few choices in the area, but Craft caught my eye. At first I was confused because I was no where near Lynbrook, there were no YELP reviews and the web addresss was craftlynbrook.com. Ohhhh, seems like a new location. Quick check on Beer Menus and Tappd had me very interested. Now the only question was TVs and would they be tuned to my college game? We pull up, and it's the old Hemingways., a long lived local spot that I never patronized. I tell Lisa to wait, I jump out of the car, open the door and the first thing I see is a row of 60+ inch glorious color HDTVs and 3 of them have the Penn State game on just lining up for kick off! It's definitely beshert! The space is beautiful, dark wood, bright light coming in from the front windows. I grabbed a spot in the middle of the bar and over the course of the 3 hours I sat there , the dining tables filled with couples and families out for lunch and sports fans looking for "their" favorite games. Service was friendly and attentive at the bar. Beer choices for me, were fire! Istarted with a super fresh Knee Deep Simtra Triple IPA, a huge but drinkable 11.25% ABV, 131 IBU hop bomb. It was loveley and potent. I was afforded a water break and then nursed an equally fresh Grimm Magnetic Tape. 4th quarter, Penn State on the way to a big win, and Lisa returned. We ordered the craft potato chip nachos to share. They were good after the beers, but would not be a favorite for me. I noticed others enjoying fish and chips, small pizzas and burgers. Next time a burger for me, as the Lynbrook location has a good repuratioin for a well made La Frieda burger. Hsppy to be the first to rphotograph, first to review and one of the firdt customers to find this local gem! Many other beer choices will bring me back, as will the fine service and friendly atomosphere.
