Went here for brunch two Sundays in a row and I'll be back again this Sunday! The food is so perfect, ambiance is really chill with a great outdoor seating area. The staff ate really nice and prices aren't too crazy. Can't wait to try the dinner menu!

Google
Amazing experience at The Craft, and there is also parking! I was with my wife and best friends for the five-course wine pairing dinner. The value of $55 was unbelievable compared to other local Boston dinners. Well worth it. This is a long thorough review because I enjoy reading other reviews which are detailed to help me make an educated decision. I hope this helps anyone who is reading this review. Enjoy! The first course was three apps of mozzarella caprese, beef wellington tarts and maple scallops, paired with Villa Maria bubbly sauvignon blanc. I was surprised how well a sparkling wine went with these apps. My favorite app was the scallops. The added experience was from our wine expert from the Antinori Winery in Tuscany (with an Italian accent, very authentic). He wonderfully explained the history of the wine and how it pairs with each dish. Interestingly, the Antinori business is one of the oldest in the world with over 26 generations. The second course was the chicken soup with zucchini noodles paired with Antinori Chardonnay. Very fresh and delicious. My wife who doesn't like soup actually liked it a lot. The third course was charred radicchio wedge with gorgonzola and walnut bacon dressing. Anything with bacon is fantastic. The whole table was surprised at how good this salad was, because normally if I saw this on the menu I would not have ever picked it. I am glad I got to try it and would choose it again. This was paired with Antinori tuscano. The fourth course was the main dish of short rib over a vegetable orzo risotto. I love short ribs and risotto, perfect combination! The wine pairing was guido al tasso il bruciato. Another great pairing of wine. The fifth course was a dark chocolate raspberry flan paired with Antinori chianti classico reserve. We all had a wonderful experience and the service was extremely attentive. We are looking forward to coming back. Craft is right before the exit for Logan Airport, so I may pop in before or after a flight next time. Cheers!

Went here for lunch, on a Sunday. Place has a nice vibe and music. Ac was broken so it was kinda hot inside. No exaggeration I saw a fly drop on its back and struggled to get up for 5 minutes lol. Well the fly survived and eventually flew away. In terms of food chicken and waffle is good with a huge portion for waffles. Chicken was slightly salty but it grew on me. Steak and eggs were good as well. Service was excellent. 1-27 update Came back again. Steak salad and ribs tangliatelli were delicious and service is still great. Always a thumb plus when the owner comments back cuz it shows they care.

Google
Really good food, drinks & service. I'd go back here any day or night. Interior is the same as it was when it was ecco, more or less. Comfy, cozy, casual.

Google
Fantastic restaurant, I came here for the craft cocktails, and left incredibly impressed with the food, atmosphere, staff, and service. The food is a little more expensive than your average night out (entrees are generally in the $20 to $30 range) but you definitely get what you pay for. Great for a special occasion or cozy night out. Friendly staff, and all around exceptional restaurant. I will definitely be returning/recommending this place in the future!

Google
Craft is amazing and just what East Boston needed. Great beer selection. Menu is awesome. Its not cheap, but the food is out of this world and well worth it for a special occasion. Flatbread's and apps were reasonably priced, as well as the drinks. 10/10 would recommend.

Google
This is an amazing , vibrant spot. I keep on coming back with my friends and family. Service is beyond great. They treat you like you are their friends and you always feel welcome. Overall I would recommend this to everyone that likes delicious food in easy going atmosphere with great music.

Yelp
Speakeasy part was fun (pay attention to their email!) but once you get inside, the decor was beautiful and the seats at the bar were very roomy. All the cocktails here go above and beyond in terms of flavor and presentation. Every drink we got was delicious. The ahi tuna tacos were delicious. Espresso martini came with a house made coffee whipped cream and I love an espresso martini sans baileys. My husband got the old fashioned that they smoked. There are drinks that come with dry ice, fire, in a treasure box, etc. so fun for a nice date night, the vibes were great (not too loud, not too quiet)

Indira H.

Yelp
Love the ambiance of this restaurant! I recommend getting a seat at the end so you see the bartenders in action making all the cocktails! Love their espresso martini! I know they're a raw bar but I wish there was a wider variety of food options! Other than that, this place is great for a date night or a special occasion!

Yelp
If I could recommend only one bar in Boston, it would be this! Refer to my earlier review! Been here SO MANY TIMES! Best speakeasy, great drinks and wonderful time! Good vibes!

Yelp
Step into a world of enchantment at the speakeasy nestled in East Boston. From the moment you arrive, you're greeted with an ambiance that whispers of a bygone era, setting the stage for an unforgettable experience. The drinks, meticulously crafted and presented with flair, are a testament to the artistry of the bartenders, captivating both the palate and the imagination. Surrounded by an eclectic crowd; it's a place where laughter mingles with the clink of glasses, creating memories that linger long after the night is over. This speakeasy truly embodies the essence of hidden gems, and it's a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a taste of East Boston's vibrant nightlife.

Jennifer R.

Yelp
Wow! This restaurant/bar truly exceeded my expectations in every way. From the meticulously crafted interior design to the unique and thoughtfully executed concept, it was an experience like no other. The attention to detail in the drinks' craftsmanship was truly impressive. I do want to mention that making a reservation in advance is essential as they don't accept walk-ins. Speaking of drinks, we had a delightful selection: the Purple Rain, the Conejo Malo, the Blossom & Bubbles, the Catch Me If You Can, the classic Old Fashioned, and the light Spritz. As for the food, we started with the incredibly fresh and flavorful ceviche, followed by the shrimp tacos. The oysters were a delight, and the tender octopus was a standout dish. Overall, the entire experience was exceptional, and I'm already planning my return. If you're looking for a memorable culinary journey with impeccable service, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit.

Sofia Q.

Yelp
Mixed feelings about this speakeasy -salmon tartare and tuna tacos were both very good -the bread and butter, the oysters, and the shrimp tacos were solid -whipped ricotta toast was too heavy and pesto-y -octopus carpaccio was chewy and gross The drinks themselves were also a mixed bag. The espresso martini was delicious (as are almost all espresso martinis to me) and there was a drink with a nitrogen gas (?) bubble that was very fun, but overall I was not impressed with the quality of the drinks, especially at the high price point. The speakeasy atmosphere itself was fun but not anything crazy special compared to others I have been to. All in all, I felt the entire place to be overhyped and felt a bit too rushed throughout the experience.

Tiffany H.

Yelp
Best speakeasy in Boston! Planning ahead and making reservations is well worth it. The ambiance was dark and mysterious and the cocktails were delicious.

Amber J.

Yelp
It's definitely an experience. Don't go without a reservation. If you can find it (good luck *giggle*) you'll have to wait to be taken back. Once you're being escorted, prepare for the experience. It's actually really cute if you like that kind of thing. The cocktails were lovely, but I didn't care for the wines. The food was nice, but missed a little on flavor. The presentation, however, was top notch. Overall a good experience.

Vanna N.

Yelp
I love the experience of getting into a place using secrets and hidden clues. It does take a little while before getting inside, but would definitely recommend getting a reservation. Once you get inside, it's a really cool area. The drinks that we ordered was sweetly delicious and the ambiance was my favorite part.

Alexandra M.

Yelp
Check your email before you go....if you ignore reservation reminders (other than clicking to say 'yes im coming') like me, the first hostess will be glad to let you know the question. Fun entrance where you have to jump to get in, and then you're welcomed into a nice small space. You're told the bartenders names (which I promptly forgot) and taken to your table. Our service was great. We ordered 6 drinks and found the descriptions to be well done -- and the only way my partner could decide what to get. My favorite came in a coconut and was lit on fire (2/3 of my drinks came with fire, unknown to me when I ordered). We also ordered charcuterie, which was a bit pricy for the vegetarian version as the 6th cheese is an extra $10 (and not that truffle-y). The waitress did say we could just get more of one of the others, but, hey, we're already at an $$$ restaurant, why not go all out. The tomato jam was great. The housemade ricotta was dull, but good when you mixed it with others to give a different texture.

Amy L.

Yelp
This was one of my favorite cocktails bars I've ever been to, and I'm include Manhattan bars. The drinks were so fun and the majority of drinks my table chose had some element of "show" to it. My drink came with a torch where she sprinkled a powder that lit on fire, my friend's Huff and Puff came with a bubble, and my other friend's whisky cocktail came with a mini firepit that ended up being released as smoke. The drinks were fun and tasted delicious. The table's favorite drink was Starboy that came with some edible flowers. The service was very attentive. I think the restaurant was too cold for my liking because the AC was blasting on me the whole time and actually hindered the experience.

My-Linh D.

Yelp
This speakeasy is an absolute gem! The entire experience, from the playful entrance ritual of jumping or clapping to access the speakeasy, to the well-crafted drinks, and even the unique door you exit through, is truly delightful. I have a soft spot for the Purple Rain drink - it's sweet and bright, a perfect concoction. Just a heads-up, it's tucked inside the Pazza on Porter restaurant, so keep an eye out to avoid getting lost. For those eager to visit, remember that reservations for the speakeasy must be made online as phone reservations are not available. A bonus is the free parking available in the back, making the overall experience even more convenient.

Yelp
I really enjoyed Next Door. I thought the food and drink were great, even if service was a bit off. You enter through Pazza on Porter and advise the staff you are there for Next Door. We were a bit early and they wouldn't take us until our reservation time, which is fine. But since they wouldn't seat us early, they then didn't take us to Next Door until after our reservation. Instead, they took those who arrived later than us and with later reservations. And then we get in there and the place was not at all full. Make it make sense. Anyway, once we get to Next Door, the staff is really friendly. It's so pretty inside. Their cocktail selection is really awesome. Food selection is super curated and there were definitely a few dishes I liked. I loved my cocktails, especially La Ultimate Vez. In another make it make sense moment, I asked for no aioli on my tuna tacos, so they added roe, which doesn't come on the tacos? I had to send it back. My friend and I were so confused. Clearly, not the brightest here, hence the three stars. Though it wasn't our server's fault--she was amazing. But once they got it right, it was delicious. And so was the ceviche. The fish was fresh and tasty. I'd return but pray for better service.

Yelp
I went to Next Door Eastie Speakeasy comedy show night in East Boston! Next Door Eastie is located right next to Pazza on Porter on 102 Porter St, Boston, MA. For cocktails we had the queen of hearts and the love language drinks. The queen of hearts drink contained cherry infused bourbon, cherry amaro, chocolate bitters and dark chocolate. The love language drink was presented in a cute heart shaped glass and had pink dragon fruit infused white rum. For an appetizer we had this charcuterie board which had three different meats: Calabrian soppressata, bresaola, duck prosciutto and three different cheeses: brie, midnight moon and manchego 7/10. We also had the steak tartare 8/10 and ahi tuna tacos 9/10. The ahi tuna tacos were definitely a star dish of the evening! These were so fresh and simply delicious! All the food was perfect for sharing while watching a comedy show with local Boston comedians. For dessert we had the Florentine tacos which had strawberries and a caramelized shell 8/10. We also had this creamy mocha mouse which they torched right at the table 8/10. I highly recommend checking this place out! It is such a fun and unique experience especially while watching a comedy show. Food: 8/10 Ambiance: 10/10 Affordability: 6/10

Yelp
Great drinks with amazing visual aesthetic. Would recommend going with a small group of 2-4. Food is mainly raw dishes and charcuterie, so would go before/after dinner or with a light appetite

Bob F.

Yelp
Wonderful experience! The presentation of both the craft cocktails and tapas was outstanding...the mood of the place is perfect for date night!

Christian N.

Yelp
Amazing service with Valeria and amazing craft drinks from the bar ! Took my wife here for her 30th birthday and the vibe was perfect for a special night out.

Yelp
Outstanding speakeasy with authentic, unique drinks that each have their own characteristic. Some of the best cocktails I've had in Boston. Farmers market (5/5) - One of my top 5 favorite cocktails period. Fruity but not too sweet and slightly herbal. You get what you pay for with this one. Purple rain (4/5) - In my opinion the most beautiful of all the drinks I had. Flavor was great, could taste the elderflower, lemon, and gin base. Espresso martini (5/5) - One of the best espresso martinis I've had. Top of the drink was very luxurious like I was drinking a dessert. Street cart (1/5) - This was a rare miss, though this may just be my personal taste. The description of "bacon fat washed four roses bourbon" made me think it would be smoky, like bacon, but instead the bacon fat infusion tasted too "porky" and gamey if that makes any sense. Could only take a few sips of this one.

Yelp
Great speakeasy located in Pazza. When you arrive, check in with the Pazza host. Someone will take you out the back of the restaurant to a secret door. Our host told us to "jump on the count of 3," and when we jumped, the secret door opened. Once you walk in, you knock on another door, give them the password, and are welcomed into Next Door. We ordered a few bites (tuna tacos, caviar, oysters, ceviche) and everything was tasty, albeit a bit expensive. The oysters were disappointing for $4 each, as they were relatively tasteless and not garnished particularly nicely. We also ordered 2 drinks, and both were good but nothing particularly special. Service was very friendly and attentive, and the space is decorated in a modern, fancy ambiance. I will say this place is great for aesthetics. They add a bit of flare to everything - for example, the oysters come with dry ice, so the platter has fog rolling off of it. A woman at the table next to us ordered a single oyster, and hers came perched atop a delicate teapot decorated with greenery and dry ice again. They have drinks on the menu in creative glassware and drinks that are very showy (ex: old-fashioned with a wood smoker that they light tableside, a drink that flames due to cinnamon, etc.). Worth giving this place a try for a fancier/photo night.

Carolyn E.

Yelp
This is what you would expect a speakeasy to be- with a secret entrance through Pazza and a password required (check your email before you go) there is a very prohibition era feel to the place. The server, hostess, and bartenders were all extremely friendly and able to answer any questions we had about the drinks and the menu in general. Our party sampled 6 different drinks, oysters, and the ricotta toast and were overall very happy with our selections. The menu does a great job describing the taste and glassware and for Boston, we believe these cocktails were properly priced for the quality and appearance. The oysters and ricotta toast were okay- I would go back for the drinks but not necessarily for the food. A note on parking- street parking is a must and due to where this is located in east Boston, parking is limited and hard to find. I would recommend carpooling and having the expectation that you'll likely have a 5-10minute walk to and from your car.

Jason L.

Yelp
What a neat experience! This is the newest speakeasy in Boston and it is usually booked months in advance. I had a reservation for 6pm and it was decently busy, but also had some open tables still. It has a cool way to enter and the inside is elegant and cozy. The drinks are delicious and very pretty. One of my drinks came out in a trasure chest and was filled with liquid nitrogen. I also saw a table nearby that had a drink that was on fire. Definitely a great spot to catch up with friends or go out for a date night. The food here is moreso for small bites while chatting. I got the mini ahi tuna tacos and thought they were delicious - a little strong on the sesame oil taste but I love sesame so it was okay for me! Would definitely come back and try out their other drinks.

Yelp
AMBIENCE: (5/5) - Quiet and cozy, the setting is intimate and makes you want to whisper when talking to your friend. However, unlike most speakeasies in Boston the tables are well spaced out so there is plenty of room without it feeling stuffy. Love the flush blue gilded in gold that furnish the place. It's a bit cold so I would bring a small cardigan. SERVICE: (5/5) - A+ on service. Got seated right away and the waitress introduced themselves right when we sat down. - They were able to answer any and all of our questions in regards to the cocktails & food on the menu. Shows that they were really trained to know the menu well. - They had a strict 90 min rule per table, which we surpassed without realizing it since my friend and I were busy catching up after a long time of not seeing each other. However, the waitress & hostess were nothing but polite in their reminders of our time. And when 90 was up with most of our 2nd round still unfinished on the table, they were so kind & gracious to offer us a table in the restaurant next door with a special key that would give us a free drink from the bar over there. Such a great surprise, amazing service that just goes above and beyond the expected to ensure we are taken care of even when we're out the door FOOD/DRINKS: (5/5) - Lock & Key (5/5) = What a classic & original cocktail. This has all the stuff that would make a signature cocktail that patrons will recognize and come back for again and again. First off, presentation by itself is more than enough. How freaking cool is it to grab the drink from a smoking treasure chest?! Then for it to taste just as good as it looked is another feat in itself. The pineapple came through so elegantly & the coconut cream syrup & whole milk just gave it a creaminess that was an unexpected surprise. It went down so smooth and it's a drink we were still buzzing about even after we left the venue - Purple Rain (5/5) = Gorgeous which is as expected in a drink with Butterfly Pea Flower. A bit more citrusy than I expected so it tasted like there's a tinge of lemonade in there from the lemon, not that I'm complaining. The elderflower brings the pallet back with a bit of sweetness without being artificial - Love Language (4/5) = A bit more sweet than I had expected. I could really taste the dragon fruit come through in the rum, which is amazing. Cute little heart shaped glass that it comes in - so wish that I could keep it! - Salmon Crudo (4.5/5) = I liked the use of the plantain chips as a vehicle for the salmon but felt the ratio of plantain to fish just slightly off balanced. However, the salmon was fresh along with the salmon roe that burst into my mouth with only the sweetness of the sea and no fishiness. The violet flowers & microgreens were really the highlight and paired so well with the salmon OVERVIEW: (5/5) - New favorite speakeasy place for me in Boston just popped up! I've been to all the speakeasies and this one really does put on a show with its bells & whistles which makes the drinks well worth the $$$, not to mention the fact that the drinks are actually really good! Everything on the menu sounded good to me and I wanted to order all of them, which only means I need to be back here again soon! - Must Try: Lock & Key

Nicki L.

Yelp
Have the password on hand and get ready to be amazed! The little touches of flair throughout the experience - from entering the bar to receiving the drink - were a wow factor for sure! The charcuterie was delicious and the drinks were super fun. The servers were friendly and helpful. The place ran like clockwork. It was a great spot for a a friends outing! Highly recommend for a unique and fun time!

Nicholas K.

Yelp
First time to Next Door with a group of 6. Great ambiance, solid food, and the drinks were standout, as you would expect! Unfortunately, service was quite poor. When everyone had completed their first drink, the waitress only asked some people if they'd like another before walking off. When it came time for the bill, it was almost 30 minutes for someone to bring it after multiple requests, and it required bringing our cards up to them in order to close out. A group of 6 resulted in a mandatory 20% tip, which seems to have diminished their interest in serving us as others in the group who have been many times shared how abnormal this was. Overall we had a great time, but the service left a bad taste.

Filipp N.

Yelp
This is THE best Speakeasy Bar I've ever been to! I've been in some places in NY, but this is my #1 is 100% so far. Everything was awesome: 1. Hostess was super welcome and let us in without reservation. It was put fault, but HE really saved our night. In the future, we always will make reservations! 2. The entrance - we had to jump on the specific places to open the secret door and then tell the password. It was cool. I felt like we were in a secret room. 3. Interior: super cool! Like, SUPER cool! Very stylish, feels taste of professional designer, every detail. Ever clothes of bar men. 4. Cocktails. Taste: 10/10 Style: 10/10 Serving: 10/10 Accuracy: 10/10 Guys, now I your fan and you definitely set a standard for me!

Yelp
Next Door is a welcome & fun addition to the fancy cocktail scene in Boston. Make no mistake - this place is a bit pricey, is the kind of place you need a reservation to go to, and involves the rigmarole of using a password / accessing a secret door / knocking a certain number of times to get in that can turn some people off the swanky cocktail scene, BUT... They pair that with just an incredibly fun atmosphere, amazing and above and beyond service, and drinks that are TRULY some of the best I've ever had, and the whole experience is just really special. A heads up: the reservation system still needs some work, and plan to call them if you want more than 1 person in your party. The system only allows you to book a table for 1 person, so my friend and I made individual reservations at the same time and then she called during business hours to make sure they combined our reservation and we could sit at the same table. That said, keep in mind this space is small and it really is ideal for parties of 1-2, maybe 3 max if you sat at the bar. To get in, arrive at Pazza on Porter and check in with the host. Ours immediately guided us through their back entrance, where there is a hidden door that will take you to the speakeasy. After the hidden door, there's a little waiting room where you give the password for the evening (which is a riddle given in the online reservation) and you wait to be let in. I've been to so many speakeasy-style bars across the country with a password/hidden door situation and the one at Next Door is just so fun. They fully lean into a bit of the silliness and it helps set the tone. The hostess inside immediately let us in and seated us, with a waitress informing us patrons have a 90 minute limit because they want to be able to accommodate people cycling in and out throughout the night. I love that they are up front about this and love that they do this, rather than stuffing the small space with people (given these pandemic times). My friend and I tried A LOT of cocktails on the menu. From the presentation standpoint, they just get an A+ for fun. The Lock & Key comes out from a smoky locked box, the Citrus & Smoke has a bubble-like appearance that pops when it gets to your table, the Take Your Time comes with a fire-torch situation, and the Good Idea comes in a glass shaped like a light bulb that flashes different colors. Taste-wise, the Citrus and Smoke and the Take Your Time (smoky old fashioned) were two of the best drinks I've ever had -- perfectly balanced, smooth, unique, and drinks I'll be thinking about for a long time after this visit. Drinks are pricer here ($14-17 range), but I was impressed with their spirit use. You are definitely getting your money's worth in their use of quality spirits, and I loved the Bozal mezcal tiki drink I ended my night on. For food: this place advertises itself as a raw bar, but the standout here was the charcuterie plate with some cheese favorites (midnight moon, aged parm, and the absolute LICK-THE-PLATE delectable truffle burrata), a selection of prosciuttos, & apricot jam. We also enjoyed the tuna poke (poke to wonton ratio was a bit off, though, prepare to order more wonton) and an EXCELLENT selection of oysters (the PEI were perfection.) All that said, our server, Bridget, was the absolute highlight of our experience and helped make it a fun & low key evening exploring their menu. She let us know when we were winding down our 90 minute time period, but connected us to free tasty shots from the bar at Pazza on Porter before we left. Come for a fun, relaxed time with people who really understand the art of a cocktail, don't take yourself too seriously, and you'll really, really enjoy this gem of an addition to East Boston!

Yelp
I had the pleasure of visiting Next Door on opening night. I had to check into the restaurant because they didn't even have a Yelp account yet! Anyway - I was fortunate to reserve a seat at the bar day-of. They wouldn't let me get bar seats or a table for 2, but I could have reserved 2 individual bar seats at the same time... The bar seat to my right was unoccupied the whole time I was there, so it was disappointing that I couldn't bring someone to enjoy the night with me. BUT - now, I feel like I can game the system with two separate bar reservations?? Anywho - I'm only disappointed because this place was BOMB and I had to do it alone. Ha I walked into the restaurant on a rainy Thursday night. I told them I had a bar reservation and the host called to someone at the bar over a tablet/earpiece to let them know he was bringing me in. We went outside through the covered patio section and to a door hidden in the wall. Oooo! The host told me to knock on the inner door once the outer door was closed. I did so, and the window slot immediately opened. I was asked for the password of the day (which I happened to look up in advance on their website) and was let in. I'm sure they would have let me in without it, but it's part of the fun. BTW: the question on the website was "Which group was Beyonce in?', so when I was asked for the password, I promptly replied "Destiny's Child". Love it! The hostess in the bar was dressed beautifully and she was really friendly as she led me to a bar seat. There were menus at the seat and I was greeted by the bartenders. Having read about Next Door for the last few months, I had an idea of what I wanted to try. This is what I ended up getting: Drinks: Citrus & Smoke: Four Roses Bourbon, Yellow Chartreuse, Combier Liqueur D'Orange, Lemon Juice, Citrus Smoke Bubble (so fun) ($16) Take Your Time: Michter's Rye Whiskey, Toasted Sesame Maple Syrup, Black Walnut Bitters, Applewood Smoke ($17) After Hours Espresso Martini: Tito's, St. George Coffee Liqueur, Borghetti Espresso Liqueur, Espresso, Vanilla Cinnamon Espresso Whipped Cream ($16) The 3 drinks I went with were all amazing. Citrus & Smoke was fun with the smoke bubble, but also citrusy and light. The Take Your Time was more spirit forward and a nice take on an old fashioned - it also had an entertainment element with the smoked wood. The After Hours Espresso Martini was a great end to the night as it was desserty, but still strong enough to make me feel like I got my $$ worth. Food: Tuna Tartare (Yellowfin tuna, mango, avocado; $24) 24 month Parmesan ($4 single plate from Charcuterie menu) Prosciutto Di Parma ($4 single plate from Charcuterie menu) The tuna tartare was very fresh. The sauce on the plate was a nice complement with a bit of spice. It was a good portion and I would order it again. While they do a charcuterie board with 3 meats and 3 cheeses, I knew I couldn't eat all of that alone. I was very pleased when they let me order the individual side plates of parmesan and prosciutto. The bartended recommended that I go with the Smoked Prosciutto over the regular since I was drinking the smoky Take Your Time cocktail, but I didn't listen. I should have. Next time, friend! I will say that I also ordered the Blossom & Bubbles cocktail ($16) and didn't like it. It seemed too thick for a French 75 riff and that turned me off (even though the blue color was amazing). The bartender was totally cool and took it back, which is when I got the After Hours Espresso Martini. No regrets! I was there for about 2 hours and the place filled up during that time - especially the tables. It's a smaller speakeasy, so it makes sense that they try to stick to table limits. I was lucky that the bar wasn't super crowded, so no one rushed me out. They do have a dress code, so take the chance to get a little fancy. It was nice seeing guys come in with nice jackets and ladies with pretty tops, dresses and nice jewelry. I was only "business-style" dressed up because of the rain and I was by myself. Ha. Next time, I'll be a bit more stylish. I love speakeasies and cocktails and nice bars. This had all of the above, plus friendly service, a cool entrance, etc. The hostess walked me out of the exit which she mentioned was "part of the experience". It really was - it brought me out to the street to a faux entrance I didn't even realize was there! I already know I'm going back next week when one of my fellow cocktail-loving friends visits Boston. As long as Next Door continues to deliver the type of experience I had on opening night, I will continue to come back and bring allll my peeps! Great job, y'all!

Yelp
This has been all over social media with their elusive entrance and reservations, so with all the hype I was ecstatic to be able to finally try. I'm not sure if they have their own parking lot but they share the building with Pazza on Porter. Follow instructions from your reservation email to get in. Service from the hostesses to the servers here were top notch. It was cool and dark inside, which was great for a hot day but sometimes challenging to read the menus. On a Friday, at 5pm, the items I wanted to order most for the charcuterie board were already out. The duck prosciutto was delicious, and would've preferred 3 servings of that instead of two other meats. The chips were overly salted but did not compensate for a rather plain tartare. The salmon crudo, plantain, and roe are not a good combo. However, the drinks are great. I enjoyed the Love Language and Sip It Slow.

Yelp
Definitely a speakeasy experience!! Fair warning, reservations are absolutely booked out so you will have to book much in advance. I'd say that it is well worth the wait. The drinks were fantastic and the workers were great as well. A table near me ordered a drink that lit on fire so will definitely have to try that next time I'm back. Food here is more on the snacking and sharing side, as usual. The steak tartare might have been the best one I've had in boston and the charcuterie board was pretty solid. The gouda is a must-try, I couldn't stop eating it. Oysters were nice and juicy too. Excited to come back and try more of their drinks and food!

Yelp
Went here opening weekend. You check-in at Pazza on Porter and are lead to a secret door - which requires a code to open (check your reservation). The place is something you'd never expect in East Boston. It definitely feels like it belongs in a chic downtown area rather than a residential neighborhood. It's got a large spirits list and a spectacular bar program. Every cocktail we had was well-balanced - and there's a lot of attention to detail. And there's a lot of details. Even the ice cubes were branded. Definitely a big 'wow' factor when it comes to presentation. For the raw bar - we had charcuterie, octopus ceviche, caviar blini and steak tartare. The cost:value ratio for these items were pretty ideal - particularly the charcuterie. All were delicious. The items come out pretty fast since there's nothing really to 'cook'. The service was warm and friendly - but I will mention that drinks may take a while to prepare. It's expected since they're pretty complex. I'll note that I'm a local. My neutral takeaway is that there's nothing on the menu that's lowbrow. Which means that it's hard to justify patroning frequently - it'll be reserved as a 'special night' kinda place. So if they decide to be open during the week (as opposed to Thursday-Saturday), it might be nice to be able to order from Pazza's kitchen on a weekday or something. Overall, 10/10 experience. I'm excited to take friends there and looking forward to going back soon.

Yelp
I absolutely loved our Next Door experience! Such a neat place with a cool vibe AND there's a parking lot! You check in with the front desk people at Pazza and they lead you to the speakeasy's entrance. I love that they really run with the speakeasy theme and make you say a password and everything (password is given to you when you make the reservation). Our reservation was at 6pm and it wasn't too busy when we first arrived, but more people started to come and fill up the place shortly after. We REALLY loved our drinks. I HIGHLY recommend the huff and puff (I think it's called that) with tequila and grapefruit. My boyfriend also really loved his whiskey drink (Take Your Time), which they fire up table side. Food wise: The whipped ricotta was TO DIE FOR. I licked it clean and I'm 100% coming back for it. We also ordered the ceviche (5/5 recommend) and the sea bass crudo (3.5/5 recommend). They had other things on the menu like charcuterie boards and oyster towers. The pricing of everything was on the more expensive side (~$18 for a cocktail) so be prepared for that. Overall, great place for a date night or catching up with friends. Definitely coming back!

Yelp
Parking was impossible. There's no valet and there was limited on street parking because it's primarily permitted. Someone in the reviews said there is a lot, but there is no signage and associates are unaware. The drink selection was amazing and the prices were high, but worth it IMO. Oysters and shrimp on the tier 1 were amazing. The charcuterie was so good that we ordered it twice. They reminded us throughout our seating that it was 90 min and shuffled us out promptly, there should be an option to make an extended res, provided you keep ordering. My party went to Pazza on Porter after and drank and ate for another hour plus.

Yelp
Worth the hype. This place was wild. The night started off with a great check in experience that included a password and everything. The inside was beautifully decorated and very cozy (a lot smaller/more intimate than I expected). We started off with a charcuterie board, tuna bites and then tried a LOT of the cocktails. Between 4 of us I think we tried 9 different cocktails and all of them were so good! My ONLY complaint is that there weren't a lot of dinner options. I think this was an incredible experience and I would definitely come back but I would probably eat before and just come for drinks. We ended up getting a full dinner at Pazza on Porter (the place next door) after we left here.

Yelp
If you're looking for an upscale speakeasy, Next Door is as advertised. The drinks come out looking exactly as they do on their instagram. They put a lot of care into the garnishing and presentation. Each drink we tried also was a creative and unique combination of flavors. I would have happily tried them all. We ordered some raw appetizers and ceviche as well and that was just average. The 90 minute time limit is actually enforced, though the staff was very polite and accommodating and ended up allowing us to stay a while longer since the table was still free. Worth a visit, but there are plenty of comparably cool spots more centrally located in Boston so I probably won't consider it worth the trek out to Eastie again.

Yelp
Drinks were great although I was a little let down by the espresso martini. Something was off, but it was still good for what it was. I loved the purple rain and their version of the old fashion was also a must for whiskey/rye/bourbon lovers. I'm not much of a fan for the smoked versions, but that's just how it came. Also got the charcuterie board which they had a good selections or cheeses and meats. Service was good, ambiance was also nice. Two things I think they need to do is dim the light to make it fit more to a speakeasy vibe and also please turn up I'm the AC. It was very warm in there for the hour.

Yelp
What a cool spot with all the little details of a real speak easy. We walked into Pazza On Porter where the hostess asked us to move further into the restaurant and wait to be escorted to Next Door (located next to the outdoor patio). Before we arrived, we were told the question of the day and provide the answer after knocking three times on t the inner door. The location is a little weird being in East Boston but I can only imagine what the real estate would be like if it were actually downtown. The drinks are top notch and the little bites were great. They do a great job with not actually having a real kitchen, which is why they serve seafood towers and crudo. The tuna was exceptional. In fact we got 2 orders of the tuna tacos for just the 2 of us. The drinks are presented in a very very cool way (torched, puffed, in a treasure box, and I can't wait to go back to try more.

Yelp
This was my first time going to a Speakeasy in Boston. The service was incredible, from the host to our server, to even the bartenders giving a warm welcome as we were seated. The food and drinks itself were a lot better than I expected. We ordered the steak tartare, 3 drinks, and a charcuterie board. The Parmesan and Gouda were to die for.

Yelp
We went to Next Door tonight on a Thursday and had the time of our life! You walk in through their italian restaurant, Pazza on Porter, and you're brought to a secret entrance. Once you knock on the door and give the password, which is texted to you night of reservation, you are let into a small and intimate bar. Service 4.5/5 Our waitress herself was great. She came to us in a timely manner, drinks came out on time, charcuterie board came on time. The only negative would be that we arrived to our 7 o'clock reservation and didn't get seated till about 7:30. It's a new restaurant and they're working out the kinks so I won't be too harsh about that. Besides that, no complaints when it comes to the service. Drinks 5/5 This is what matters the most at a speakeasy cocktail bar. Each drink we got was complex in ingredients, interesting presentation, and most importantly tasted delicious. Highlights of the night included the espresso martini as well as the citrus and smoke was fun. Each drink was beautifully crafted and I would say you could order anything on the menu and be happy. Food 5/5 We only got a charcuterie board. We got 3 meats and 3 cheeses and they were all great. Each cheese had a distinct flavor and topped with one of the meats and the bread crisps was amazing. They offer other raw bar selections in addition to their charcuterie boards. I didn't get a chance to try the raw bar but I would definitely recommend getting a charcuterie board. Overall, my experience at Next Door was great! I've been to Pazza a bunch of times and when I heard they were opening a cocktail speakeasy, my tail wagged. If you can snag a reservation, definitely go. My tip: go on the Resy app and make it notify you for all the days you could possibly go. Reservations may not be available at first, but in my experience many would open the day before or day of if you're quick enough to secure it. Check out my insta @devinchute for more photos and videos of a bursting bubble and a Smokey treasure chest!

Yelp
I waited months to get a reservation here. Would recommend signing up for alerts on the Resy app for cancellations to get in. We had a little bit of a hard time finding the place but go to Pazza and see the host and they will take you back. Vibe: The inside area is small but the decor is awesome. Would be awesome for a date night as it is a pretty intimate setting. Drinks: Would recommend asking your server for advice here depending on if you prefer taste or presentation. Our group had a little of both, we tried the Lock & Key and the Old Fashioned which both had an awesome presentation. Taste wise, my favorite was the Purple Rain or the Espresso Martini. Food: We tried the ceviche, oysters and the ahi tuna tacos. All were really good and fresh. The ahi tuna tacos were amazing!

Yelp
This review is for drinks only. I was keeping my eye out for reservations since I knew they were hard to come by. The only reservations popping up were for drinks only after 11PM (no food). I took one of those reservations for 11PM drinks only. The whole getting into the speakeasy is a cool/novel experience! Go to the servers at Pazza and let them know you're here for the speakeasy. They will then lead you to the entrance where you knock 3 times. They text you beforehand the question of the day which you have to provide the answer to enter. We ordered 3 drinks. The Lock and Key was my favorite. It came in the treasure chest with smoke/lights which was super cool! The drink itself was also great -- smooth pineapple flavor that wasn't too sweet or strong. My second favorite was the Purple Drink, its essence is cucumber and it's funny how a drink can "taste purple". We also go Farmer's Market which was good but very basil heavy, wasn't my favorite but my boyfriend liked it. The drinks were about $17-18 each, so on the pricier side. Overall, this place lived up to the hype! I was expecting the drinks to be just okay given the cool gimmicks with the presentation and speakeasy, but the drinks are very solid. This is a place I would return to again with friends for the novel experience, not sure I would come just on my own.

Yelp
I knew I had to try out Next Door after I saw how many great reviews it was getting right after opening. Initially there weren't an reservations available for the upcoming month but Resy notified me about an open spot so I snagged it. We waited a while inside Pazza for the host to come get us (probably 15 minutes) and then went through the motions of knocking on the secret door and giving the password. It felt a little contrived to me, but I get it's a speakeasy thing so I didn't mind too much. Overall I would say our drinks and service were pretty good, but I found the food to be subpar and not really worth the price. We did enjoy the lobster sliders (a special) but they were $36 and I would rather have something more filling for the price. The oysters were more expensive than I've seen anywhere in Boston, and the only good I'd probably order again were the mini ahi tacos. I think it was a good experience and might come back for drinks, but I personally won't come back for food - there are better and cheaper spots nearby I'd prefer to frequent.

Yelp
Come only for the Great drinks, horrible food. The caviar bites came on what seemed to be raw dough instead of bread, the tuna in the tuna crudo was just these huge thick chunks of tuna--crudo is meant to be thin slices

Yelp
Absolutely loved everything about this place from the moment we entered Pazza headed to Nextdoor until the moment we left. Definitely a Speakeasy vibe unlike many others who promote as such. I highly recommend sitting at the bar. Bartenders Josue and Saul were phenomenal at what they do, super friendly and very helpful with recommendations. I would totally give the experience an 11/10!!!

Yelp
This is one of my favorite speakeasy bars in Boston and I have taken many friends there and have been recommending this place to all my close friends. This morning I had to cancel my booking due to a health condition and my credit card was charged $100, which is totally understandable as this is their house rule. I'm writing this review just in a hope to get connected to the business owner for some possible reduction of the fee. Anyway, this is still my favorite and I recommend this place to everyone. The four star reflects risks associated with cancellation and 90-minute stay rule (again they are understandable but they still present as risk factors affecting experience for customers)

Yelp
Amazing service food and drinks! I'd love to keep it a secret so go and find out just how good!

Victor H.

Yelp
This is definitely a must try place! It's a little pricier but you're paying for the experience. All my cocktails were delicious, the charcuterie was good, and all the tracks were hitting. Definitely will be back.

Yelp
Love love don't come hungry. More of a small plates, funny drinks and an endless waitlist. But so much fun. Food is fresh. Oysters and shrimp a must: yummy

Yelp
I recently visited the Next Door speakeasy bar, it had amazing drinks and a delicious raw bar, but was disappointed to find that there was no heat in the middle of winter. The staff initially told me that the heat was turned on late and it would take a while to warm up, but later, another staff member admitted that the heat was not working at all. I think it would have been considerate for the bar to let customers with reservations know about the lack of heat before they arrived. It made the dining experience less enjoyable as people were forced to dine in their coats and no effort was made to use makeshift heaters or other means. I really wish this experience was a little different. I wasn't prepared for igloo drinks and I certainly was not dressed for it. Next time you head out to this place, ask if heating is working.

Yelp
This place is really good if you like creative drinks. The bartender knows what he is doing. If you like seafood, this is the place to go. The staff is friendly. Small but a good Atmosphere place.

Yelp
The first night we tried to go in we were unsuccessful. First we could not find an entrance and thankfully some patrons took pity on us and helped out, but than our second obstacle- they were completely booked until the following night at 9:30. As someone who likes to be in my pjs by 8pm this was asking a lot but also because it was vacation and we were looking for special experiences we of course obliged. We sat at the bar and experienced a great show and conversation from the staff. The drinks and Bourbon knowledge of Josue made me feel confident in taking his recommendations
