Craig Millar @ 16 West End

"A former pub with an attractive interior and a small terrace; most of the tables afford superb harbour views and, as one might expect, there’s a seafood bias to the menus. Good quality ingredients underpin refined, attractively presented dishes which are full of flavour. There’s a good value set price lunch menu, and the evening tasting menus come with a choice of main course." - Michelin Inspector

Refined and delicious food served beautifully with excellent and reasonable wine selection by the glass. Could not hope for more! The soufflé was particularly amazing and the duck perfect

My mother's favourite restaurant. As good as ever. Service cordial, unrushed and convivial. Food is just sublime, beautifully presented and bursting with flavour on every forkful. It's a joy to come back to Scotland for. Highly recommended.

What an amazing experience. The service was friendly and personable. The food was absolutely fantastic - every course complimented the last. The wine pairings were fantastic, great choices from the sommelier. The location is absolutely stunning with views of the true Scottish coast. An absolute must visit.

Loved it here on the work Xmas do. Staff were excellent even though we were slightly rowdy. Food was excellent. Would go back!

Food delicious. Service very pleasant. Restaurant wasn't particularly busy but that could have been the time of year (January 2024) which affected the overall atmosphere. The music playing would stop for adverts - this really lessened the overall experience and should be reviewed. Duck dish, cheese soufflé and bramble parfait were a highlight. Would return if I was in the local area again.

An exceptional dining experience combining mouthwatering food with breathtaking views and impeccable table arrangements. From the moment you step inside, you sense the quality and relaxing atmosphere that sets the stage for an unforgettable meal. The standout feature of Craig Millar @16 West End is undoubtedly the food. However the stunning views are a very close second. Enjoy panoramic views of the North Sea while savoring your meal. The restaurant's large windows allow natural light to flood in during the day. It's the perfect backdrop for a romantic dinner or a special celebration. The arrangement of tables is thoughtfully done. Each table is spaced generously, ensuring privacy and comfort while still allowing you to enjoy the lively ambiance of the restaurant. Whether you're seated by the window or in the cozy interior, every seat offers a delightful dining experience. The food is nothing short of exquisite. The menu showcases a harmonious blend of locally sourced ingredients and innovative cooking techniques. I wouldn't usually get to excited about salmon but I 100% trusted the chef and they 110% delivered. The Craig Millar @16 West End is a must-visit restaurant. What a place!

We had an absolutely sensational evening. We opted for the wine pairing and this made the dining experience so much better. Our table had an outstanding view and the food was absolutely delicious and so well presented and then having the paired wines with a description of the wine and how it would compliment our course was amazing. Staff were polite, knowledgeable and friendly. This was a special treat and we thoroughly enjoyed every moment

Beautiful lunch in an amazing setting. We were lucky to have a table with such a great view. Relaxed but nice service and a lovely wine list. Was a slight struggle to get someone to let us pay at the end, felt a bit neglected- not annoying enough to take a star off but almost.

Yelp
One of East Neuk's finest, and most hidden away, restaurants. Tucked away in St Monans is Craig Millar @16 West End, and it really is an excellent addition to the area. It is perched up on the hillside giving you a superb view over the sea. Having stayed in the area for many years, it surprisingly took us a while to visit this restaurant, and we were so glad that we tried it. When we visit St Monans again, we will be sure to come back.

Yelp
Food was good. Service was adequate (friendly and casual). The prices are outrageously high for the value, ambiance etc. In addition there is a terrible sulfur smell in this part of town- it's either the water used for gardening or the sewer system but regardless it's truly revolting. Having drinks on the porch while waiting to be seated is very unpleasant. Lastly, two members of our party were unable to attend due to an accident and subsequent hospitalization. The reservation was in one of their names and they didn't call the restaurant from the US to let them know so instead of a party of six it was a party of four. I get that this causes an issue for the restaurant but the 100 pound late cancellation fee I was charged (surprised too because it was not mentioned until the bill arrived) seems truly excessive and frankly punitive.

Yelp
This restaurant is truly a hidden gem, and was by far our best meal in Scotland. After being rather brusquely turned away from a popular seafood restaurant in St. Andrews, we asked the concierge at the Old Course Hotel for a recommendation. When he learned we had a car, he recommended Craig Millar. About 1/2 an hour away from St. Andrews on a loopy road we made it to St. Monans where GPS took us to the hidden front door, barely distinguishable from the other residences on the street. There is another entry on the water side where there is also parking. Inside was a bar and beautiful dining area with gorgeous views of the water. The menu consisted of two tasting menus, land or sea, which could be ordered as listed, mixed, or a la carte. Additionally, there was the choice of four or five courses. The food was delicious, the portions were just right, and the presentation of each dish was beautiful. The waitstaff is young yet knowledgeable, friendly, and provided great service. There is a very good wine list, and a full bar is also available. Be sure to take some beautiful pictures from their porch or have an after dinner drink out there if it's not too cold!
