I purchased 4 chairs for about $1000 but 2 of them were uneven. I don’t understand why the company would place these products for sale knowing they were defective. They must have seen the defect, but still decided to sell them. They also wasted my time because I had to got 45 minutes away to pick them up. Now they want me to go back and wait for them to be replaced. Crate and Barrel is not respectful of customers. I don’t plan to come back unfortunately.

Lots of nice home decor with a good combination of high prices and affordable prices. Bought mine entire drinkware set here 36 glasses 12 each of 3 different sizes and a pitcher all matching for about $120.

Trish did any outstanding job! Great Customer Service - starting with locating a select item from a wedding registry, then packing valuable items, with care. In the meantime, requested a cart be delivered, to assist bringing items to car, then going as far as to put in car, before a fairwell greeting. Keep up the good work. Your parents taught you well.

Disappointed with the bathroom selection for such a stylish brand, there bath products are very blah. They also didn't have the knifes we love in stock for some reason. Staff was nice and helpful though.

Approximately a month and a half ago I went to return an item. I approached Linda for assistance and right away she began to assist me. She was very thorough, kind, and professional.

We have been loving our experience with Crate and Barrel's wedding registry! They make everything so easy and exciting.

Every single time I come here to buy stuff, people working here dont know anything about the products, dont have any knowledge, usually cant find stuff in they storage, they keep you waiting around etc. When you finally get to the register, they cant even scan the products, something is always off. And every time with different people is the same story, i mean whats going on here??? I left today, totally killed my wish to buy stuff here

I came into your store because the wedding gifts that we had purchased all came separately in very big boxes .Kim not only found me smaller ones but nicely wrapped every item! She was fabulous !! Kim even gave me a tip on how to make homemade bows with tulle!!!

Yelp
Beautiful Crate and Barrel location at Oakbrook Center. They even have a restaurant -- The Table. We recently placed an order at C&B so we weren't really here to buy -- just browsing at the coffee tables. Then we went out in the balcony and sat on the outdoor furniture. It was a lovely end of summer Saturday afternoon and it was so nice to be outside.

Yelp
This is a great location with very helpful and attentive staff. We've ordered furniture from this location twice and it worked out very well.

Yelp
Crate and Barrel used to be a great place to work. Their customer service has gone down the drain. When you call the person sounds like they are all the way in Jamaica. Hard to understand. The stores are not customer friendly anymore. I don't see this company staying around much longer no wonder they're closing so many stores.

Yelp
If you like the wares Crate & Barrel have been selling for a couple of decades now, you'll love this Oak Brook outlet. Laid out very much like the flagship store on North Avenue in Chicago, everything seemed in perfect order. Clean and shiny products on the shelves, loads of store help to get you in the right area, a clean store throughout, and an all around nice shopping experience. This outlet was located in the Oak Brook mall very near the Antico Posto restaurant we had been to, and walking distance from the parking garage ... very convenient. We wouldn't hesitate to return to this Crate & Barrel, especially for their wide selection of glassware which is what we always seem to be settling on ... we picked up a nice set of 8 wine glasses. Things can be a bit pricey at Crate & Barrels, but if you look around you usually can find something in your price range. Recommended.

Yelp
OMG!! Ordered an online coffee table in July and needed to place a deposit of $700+. We called and emailed several times for delivery information. No response! Today, we received an email stating they raised the price by $700 and still haven't started production on the item. After speaking with two reps and then being placed on hold for over an hour, they still can't tell us if the order is coming or canceled. They may be able to get back to us later today. Stay away from C&B, service is horrible. No one can answer a question.

Yelp
NICE THINGS (AND WHY WE CAN'T HAVE THEM) This upmarket housewares store is best suited for those with deep pockets. Situated on the periphery of Oak Brook mall's west side near Seasons 52, Crate & Barrel has built a reputation in Chicago's wealthier communities. We had a gift card to use plus a 15% off coupon, and if it weren't for those two items it's doubtful we would've come here in the first place. Nothing personal against C&B, most products are just priced too steep for everyday shopping. Their 1st floor is primarily stuff for the kitchen, 2nd floor is home decor displayed in a 'vignette' style. Staff were helpful at checkout and the store was kept in pristine condition. An on-premise restaurant opened in July 2019 called "The Table at Crate" where you can order a $12 kale caesar salad and listen to rich people complain about their yachts. We bought an espresso cup & saucer ($5), porcelain sugar bowl and creamer ($6 each), rectangular app tray ($15), box of lemon blueberry pancake mix ($10), and 2pk of dish towels ($13). Not ten minutes after we got home, I hear a loud *CRASH*, the unmistakable sound of something breakable meeting its demise. Sure enough, the precarious lid for the creamer had fallen and exploded in grand fashion. Damn. * TL;DR * Well, this ain't IKEA, land of cheap chairs. Aside from being relatively expensive, Crate & Barrel's products can be quite fragile (at least the china was, hopefully their furniture is more robust). I dug the wide variety of products for the home, especially their selection of kitchen gadgets like garlic presses, pastry brushes, and designer ice cream scoops. So, remind me again why can't we have nice things? If it's not the damn cat pushing things off the counter (nice one, Lana), it's good old human clumsiness that stops me from spending oodles of money here. From now on, I'm only buying rubber cups & plates that bounce when you accidentally drop 'em. C&B sells some tastefully high end stuff, but this was a one-and-done visit for us.

Lisa L.

Yelp
Very large store with many nice items for sale. The times we walked through, an employee has acknowledged us with a hello.

Mare K.

Yelp
They offer a 10% coupon when you sign up for texts, emails and it never works. Waste of time!

Yelp
Wine glass rant alert: I somehow break one wine glass a month, so I come to Crate and Barrel often to replace them. I don't know if I'm truly that clumsy or if Crate & Barrel glasses are that delicate, but I keep coming back regardless, because they have unique ones.

Yelp
Very disappointed with my customer service experience at this store. I set up my whole wedding registry here, which included a sizable amount of items. We were gifted several items that were not requested and we already have. I took them to the store with tags still ON and items in their original packages. Clearly unused. The very rude manager informed me I cannot return or exchange them because I am not aware who purchased them. We're not talking hundreds of dollars. Maybe $20 top per item. These items are crate and barrel brand so there is no way they were purchased elsewhere. I am at a loss as to why anyone would be so rude and unaccommodating. Sadly will not be visiting this location again. And now stuck with random kitchen gadgets.

Yelp
This story is very well organized and we were welcomed right when we popped in. One thing we noticed was that it seems like a bunch of people use this location as a pass through from either parking or walking through the mall so it always seems busy. I came to pick-up a wedding registry gift for a friend getting married. The kind associate helping me was able to easily pull up the wedding registry and show me over to the whiskey glasses I was getting for them. I mean c'mon, something the couple can both really enjoy right? Their glass selection here is extensive! I have never seen so many glasses in my life ha! I remember thinking the same thing when we picked out some things here for our registry when my husband and I were getting married. So many options to choose from! After I picked out the gift, the associate helping me rang me up and nicely boxed it. She was super quick. I love how much time they take to make the gift look pretty. All you need is a big bow on top and you're set!

Yelp
Want to start by saying I will NEVER order anything from Crate and Barrel again! Never any issues in store. The staff is great there. However, the two times I have placed orders online for in-store pick-up the experience has been terrible. First, I ordered some wall art. Was shipped to the store for pickup relatively quick. Brought home only to find out the item was clearly a damaged return they repackaged an sold to me. There were handwritten pencil measurement writings on the instructions that gave away it was a return. So we drove back to return and reorder. A week later we go to pick up the item again only to take it home and find several of the glass parts broken! Luckily they shipped me the 3rd box (I still had to take 2nd box to FedEx). The 3rd time the wall art looked great but I can tell it was the only time it was packaged properly making me realized the 2nd box must have been a return too given how differently the item was packed. Second online order was bookshelf. We ordered the item on August 30, 2021 with expected availability of early November. I was fine with this given the supply chain issues across the country. Fast forward to January 12th, the item is finally ready for pick-up!!! However, I am traveling to visit family and wasn't able to pick it up until the 24th. They emailed me saying the item needed to be picked up by the 26th so I thought I would be fine. I get home the 23rd only to see an email saying they cancelled my order due to "limited stock". I called in asking what happened and was told they cancelled my order due to limited availability even after they said it was ready for pickup! They said i would have to reorder with a new expected availability date of late February! Needless to say I declined the reorder expecting it to take several months. After my experience with my only two online orders from Crate and Barrel I will never be ordering from them online again. I even cancelled my wedding registry at the store due to the fear of shipping issues.

Yelp
Bought some stuff for a registry online and did a pickup for in store. We didn't really want to shop around so we just went to the pickup desk inside. There was a guy there assisting. Must have been a man of few words. Didn't greet us, just asked for the order number, we gave it to him and he was in the computer while we were standing there in silence. A few minutes passed and he walked away without saying anything. We weren't sure if we were supposed to follow him or not so we stayed put as he went to the back room. When he came back, he handed us the order and we still stood there in silence. After a few moments we asked if we were supposed to sign anything (we're new customers so we don't know the drill). He said "no" then went back to the computer. I'm sure the store is nice but the customer service could have been better. Overall- I dont think I will come back as we have to travel an hour to get here and the prices are pretty steep for generic everyday items.

Yelp
Great store clean and you'll find things that make your home pop. I was there to pick up my Cusinart air popcorn maker. Gotta have my popcorn

Kirk H.

Yelp
Ordered a king size duvet and insert. I explained the shipping address was in one location and the order card information was a different address. The person doing the order confirmed it twice with me. One item of the duvet was sent to actual address and other was old card address I asked not to send. After speaking to the manager, they indicated a terrible tone saying, "he said she said attitude"; I asked a simple question...logically would I order my car to arrive in one destination and my engine of the car 2,000 miles away to another destination? I work for a Fortune 500 company and I can see why crate and barrel might have some severe management attitude issues. Numbers, destinations, details is part of my job. Hopefully you don't fall victim to Fairfield managers atrocious attitude and customer service. Thanks for reading.

Yelp
Customer service is a thing of the past, am I right??? Hell to the NO!!! I had the most awesome experience this evening at Crate & Barrel Oakbrook. I came in with a difficult on-line order. I had to exchange and return a few things. I also added a few new things to my order. Basically I was a "challenging customer". So to speak. Well, let me tell you, MEG took care of me like nobodies business!!! She had the best attitude and people skills! She was gracious under fire and even kept her sense of humor when things got a little hectic. I normally shop on-line, but after this evenings experience, I'll be back to Crate & Barrel Oakbrook.

Yelp
We placed a very expensive order for a designer living room collection on Feb 20, 2023, and we were very clear that we wanted the order delivered as soon as possible for an early March party we were hosting. We were told at the time that most of our order would be delivered early March and we were happy and excited about it. The salesperson we were working assured us that she'll reach out to us for delivery as soon as its available. We didn't get any communication about the delivery and when I left a voce mail 3-4 days back enquiring about the delivery status, no one reached out to us. We physically went to the store and found out that the email to schedule delivery was never sent out to us and we could have had the delivery before we had the party. Now the delivery has been delayed and we found out about the whole situation only after because we physically went to the store again. This has been extremely disappointing. I'd have expected better from Crate and Barrel.

Russell E.

Yelp
Third weekend in a row with Handy canceling my scheduled install (an hour before the appointment). Crate and Barrel seems unable to do anything about it. Have just taken down the defective rod that C & B sold me and returning today. I'm exhausted with this whole process. You won Crate and Barrel and Handy. I'm only one person but I'll never set foot in a Crate and Barrel (or its subsidiaries) again.

Yelp
I have now had two large purchases at this location that have been pushed far back their original arrival dates. I signed up for the CC with purchase for rewards without indication that the APR financing was a ridiculous rate. Any rewards I received will be null and void by the financing charges incurred. I spoke with the manager Matt who did nothing to but say I would be reinforced of updates. The associate Carol informed me that I would be compensated for my troubles which Matt gave no compassion or willingness to offer. I was also informed my voicemail inbox was noted full in their notes which has never been the case in my life. Very unhappy with my experience and will turn others against using this location in the future. The value of a customers opinion is far greater than what it would cost to compensate a disgruntled buyer.

Janice R.

Yelp
I just love this location! I travel to oakbrook because this staff is the best!! Always soo helpful but never pushy!! They also have much more in stock than my location at old orchard Thank you crate and barrel oakbrook for having exemplary customer service !!!!

Yelp
A couple of years ago- this Crate and Barrel did a remodel- moving the furniture upstairs and all the domestics to the main floor. I love the layout as everything is easy to find. As with any Crate and Barrel location, the displays are innovative (I love the way they group with color) and what you are looking for is easy to find. I also like that while there are the expected items- I can always find that "special" gift for not alot of money. Case in point. Every holiday- my team at work exchanges mystery gifts that cannot cost more than $25 and must be equally as interesting to men as to women. Now some of the guys on the team just stop by a gas station on the way and buy $25 worth of lottery tickets (hint hint guys- you can do better than that!), but I am always looking for just the right thing and Crate and Barrel has come to my rescue more than once. Take for instance their sushi serving plate, little soy sauce plates and decanters for soy sauce. Makes a great gift and all the pieces are there. Service at this location is always helpful (even during the dreaded holiday season) and I love that it is all boxed, "gift receipted" and even comes with a removeable handle to easily carry the boxes. The new location within the mall even allows for outside access to the parking lot which is another win in my book. Check it out!

Yelp
I recognize that I have converted to Fully Suburban with this review, but that's OK. I'm in, and I'm in deep. I love me some Crate&Barrel. And I specifically love this Oak Brook Crate&Barrel, with their sprawling two floor design, tons of spacious room to roam around and admire the beautiful items, great setups of the furniture and décor in the space, and awesome customer service. Even though every time I go in here I come out minimum $200 poorer, I still love it so much. This time of year is especially brutal for me as the Christmas stuff is even MORE tempting than usual, however, I can find something awesome here year round. While I know it's not an artisian, independent shop, they really do a nice job of making customers feel important and crafting items that seem to last a long time.

LOIS B.

Yelp
I did not have to register, I am rating the ease with which I was able to get a copy of the gift register, decide, purchase, and be on my way. I also had NO problem when I ordered on line and had it shipped directly. Even a friend had no problems when she ordered from out of the country. I am always happy to find that a couple has registered here.

KS C.

Yelp
What on earth has happened to this store?! When did they start selling poorly made, ugly modern furniture? It's really awful. The style selections serve a very narrow market and even worse they're uncomfortable. It's as if Ikea and West Elm had a child. I bought well made, comfortable pieces from C&B 15 years ago that have a clean timeless style that still feel current today. And $1800 for a bench? Ridiculous. On a positive note, I do find the employees very friendly.

Colleen C.

Yelp
I am standing here waiting for my pick up to be wrapped up. Lori has been helping me since I walked in the door. She has been nothing but amazing since then. One of my items is on back order and I told her it was no big deal they can ship it to the house and I will print a picture and put it with the wedding gift. She has gone above and beyond by stepping away to print the picture and make sure it is with the box before she wraps it up. I haven't had customer service like this in a very long time and it's good to know there are people like Lori still around! Thank you Lori for your exceptional service! Just know it doesn't go unnoticed!

Amy H.

Yelp
If you want to waste half your day standing in line to pick something up you already paid for online come here. Worse customer service.

Sheila C.

Yelp
My adventure began Dec. 11th when my Mom came up from Indiana to go shopping with me in Chicago. Early in the day we went to the Crate & Barrel on Michigan Avenue. She saw some "jingle bell napkin rings" that she wanted, but rather than purchase them at the time and have to carry them around all day, we vowed to come back in a couple of hours and purchase them. You KNOW how this part of the story ends. The Michigan Avenue C&B had sold the napkin rings, had none in stock and "I'm sorry, we are just to busy to have associates on the phone looking right now. You really should have purchased them when you saw them." On Saturday, Dec. 12 I called around to several local C&B but the most associates said their inventory was "off" due to all the seasonal help so I would be better off to go IN the store. So on Dec. 13 I went into my local C&B, in Oak Brook. I thought this was probably going to be a waste of time, but I was there when they opened hoping to get some information before they got REALLY busy. As luck would have it, an associate named Rose asked if I needed help and did she ever help me! Rose checked their inventory, no luck there because "this was a very popular item, in 2014 and again this year". Next she got on the phone and started calling. Since Michigan Avenue was "too busy" I really didn't expect this. On her 5th call she found the napkin rings and helped me make arrangements to have them shipped to my house, including free shipping because the item wasn't available in their store. My Mom is going to be SO surprised Christmas morning! Thank you Rose, for a job well done! Hopefully your employer appreciates what a wonderful employee they have in you. I do!

Evelyn O.

Yelp
Crate & Barrel has always been a positive experience for me in all locations, except this one! I believe the woman's name was Mary G. from the Wedding Registry area. Worse attitude I've ever experienced within these stores. She snatched everything from my hands, threw all my items around when packaging, and threw my box back at me once paid for. Everything she said was said aggressively and had no interest in working with us, while I saw her treating others with a more positive vibe. I lost all interest in continuing to shop and spoke to a manager. Thanks for the great customer service C&B.

Kathleen M.

Yelp
In my fantasy life, my place looks like a Crate and Barrel model just with more quilts. Do you not love their glassware? The clever little kitchen products? Did I mention the glassware? I have some coy little glasses I bought here just to use for one party, one dessert. And I don't care, they looked perfect. Try putting champagne over sherbet in just any glass. No, you need the right one. (I'm dying to use them again, are you busy this weekend?) But I digress. My point (and I do have one) is that I have really always loved this store but my desire to A. Not go broke and B. Not have kitchen stuff stored in the bathroom, have prevented me from visiting it too often. However recently I got to shop for someone else without tempting myself. I picked out the items off a wedding registry online, paid for it and picked it all up in a sturdy attractive box. It's cold out, I appreciated just being able to go to the back door and grab it and run. Or have my husband get out of the car and do it, one of the two. From the moment I placed the order, the store was in contact with me. I got 3 emails, 2 texts and 2 phone calls so I knew everything was perfect. What a great store making shopping Polar Vortex friendly. Plus, once we were in Oakbrook, we had to go out for lunch, right? Great shopping made delicious.

Rosanna S.

Yelp
Crate & Barrel you make wedding shower shopping easy! A friend of mine was registered here (thank goodness!) for her wedding shower and being a busy bee I didn't have time to pop into the store and browse around. But the best part is at C&B.com you can order from the registry and as long as the items are in stock and you choose pick-up in store they will gladly wrap up your items and have them ready for you within 2 hours! Upon receiving a confirmation e-mail that my items were ready for pick-up I head on over to C&B and told the cashier I was picking up an order and it took her about a minute or 2 to grab my items from the back room and rang up my order. I paid and was on my merry way. Items might be a little bit pricey at C&B, but it definitely makes shopping easier!

Angela P.

Yelp
I purchased a set of beer glasses here. My only problem was finding something to carry said glassware. Was I supposed to juggle these through the store? Past the bustling ladies with bags, strollers, and otherwise ignorant and physically pushy? C'mon, C&B, if you don't want me to break it then do something about it! This store gets crowded, and it makes me nervous to purchase anything breakable or carry those items as I browse. I finally found a basket across the store. They package stuff up really well and don't try to upsell you on nonsense at the register.

Yelp
Judy in the furniture department is the epitome of how not to treat customers. 1). I made eye contact with her as we approached the cash desk. She made eye contact back and turned 180 degrees away from us. 2). I asked her if a certain rug (the Alvarez, to be exact) was on the floor to be seen. She kind of bit her lip and said, "hmmm, I don't know. Sorry I can't help you." 3). We saw her again as we were looking for the rug (a manager once told us there's one of every rug on the floor), and she kind of skirted out of our way and didn't try to help. As noted above, these are all techniques to ensure a store doesn't make a sale. And the store didn't. We walked in ready to buy a rug today and probably would have if Judy had been even slightly interested in helping us. Instead, we meandered our way through what started to look like really boring furniture, and found the door.

Chris B.

Yelp
I just purchased a Krug beer tender at Oakbrook center and they assured me that while the box was open I would have no problem. I am too old to have believe that but I did and when I got home so I'm 20 miles away I realize they were missing parts so now I'm driving and driving to Geneva Commons to get one that hasn't been opened. While the people at the store were very friendly the reality is a selling people open box items with an assurance that everything will be okay just isn't right.

Kristen L.

Yelp
I have always been a huge C&B and this is by far one of my favorite locations. The store is pristine and well organized. The asisstance you get from the staff cannot be beat. Glasses galore! If you are looking for perfect glass C&B will have it. I recently stopped in to order additional place settings for our everyday dinnerware. The store doesnt stock the Court Dining Collection (WHICH IS FABULOUS), but they were able to order them and offered free shipping to my home. WIN! Way to go C&B!

Cat C.

Yelp
A friend registered for her wedding here, and walking in I immediately wondered why I'm not engaged yet. I had ordered from her registry online for store pickup, and the process was really easy. I walked in and there were a number of employees around ready to help me. The store excels at packing everything very well, and the woman helping me laughed when the box for the set of 8 mugs I ordered came in a box almost as big as me. I guess they were out of smaller ones. The bride had a few other items packed similarly, and if anything we were just glad the over packing means nothing was broken. Highly recommend. :)

Tracey M.

Yelp
I've been to this Crate and Barrel many times. However, what sets this one apart from the others - for me at least - is the fact that this is the store that I purchased some furniture from. The service I received from the sales person I dealt with as excellent. Everyone in the department was patient with me as I agonized over the fabric selection (who knew just a "simple" choice could be so time consuming). The sales person I dealt with followed-up with me a few days after the furniture was delivered to make sure I was happy and that everything got to me ok. All in all, not only will I be coming back to this location for my simple home decorating needs, I will also go back the next time I need furniture.

Joshua T.

Yelp
This is a great furniture store with a great styles and variety of selections. Has a very urban looked at a lot of the front nature. With great prices behind them. I am considering and doing my furniture shopping at this place as I was just looking and visiting for the first time. I like a lot of the stuff that I saw and will take another visit back to this place. If you're looking for a place to buy furniture for more urban look this is a great place to visit in my phone love with that. Admin for me for other great reviews and accuracy

Yelp
I just LOVE Crate & Barrel!!! I went to the Oakbrook location, and wanted to pick up the "Chilly Candle Holders", cuz I saw it in their Christmas Catalog...however, they were all out. :( So I just placed the order online and it says that they were on back order. However, I believe after placing the order, it took about 7 days for the delivery to arrive to my home. Which is not bad at all. :) Cuz now I can use them for my Christmas party! So HAPPY!! I just wanted also to mention that they wrapped it so nicely! Everything in tact! A lot of bubble wrapping around it so it was protected & wouldn't break! Now I know anytime I need anything that they don't carry in the store, I will order online, and it will be delivered with care. Thank you Crate & Barrel!!

Brittany Q.

Yelp
I love Crate & Barrel. This review is based on the special wedding registry event I attended. C&B holds their event prior to the store opening, so you don't have to fight all the shoppers while trying to scan items for your registry. We were greeted by friendly sales associates and sent upstairs to start the event. We were provide coffee and cake and mimosas. The sales associates explained the whole registry process, provided us scanners and sent up on our way. They had vendors there demonstrating items to add to you registry and yummy samples. At the end you could turn in your scanner and create or update an existing registry. They also gave us a small free gift. C&B really knows how to make a couple just starting out feel really special!

Yelp
I love browsing Crate and Barrell. In fact, my husband and I registered here for our recent wedding. Except that my husband is now incredibly reluctant to set foot in C & B with me now, because every time I see an engaged couple with that sweet little registry gun, I start whining about how much I miss registering. Yeah, I'm that girl. Anyway, we had a great experience with our registry here. No problems with returns, and once when we came to return a salt and pepper shaker set because it had two salt shakers instead of one of each, the cashier was extremely apologetic and gave us a new set, no questions asked. My one complaint...my husband purchase a leather chair here about four years ago. It came with a lifetime warranty. When a spring broke about a year ago, we had a hell of a time getting it fixed. Eventually C & B sent a repairman to the house, which was nice, but the whole process took a few months, which is wayyyy longer than it should have. But it was free, and the chair is fixed, so it's all good.

Yelp
Do not ever order furniture from this store. It was 20 weeks from ordering a hutch until it showed up at my house. And I believe that unless I had rattled the cage, it might not be here yet. While the sale associate and manager were kind, there was other stuff going on that was inexcusable. For example, my hutch was delivered to a warehouse may 3 and sat and sat. No one did anything to get it to me. Finally delivered July 24. Now to add insult to injury, a hall table that I ordered and was due in two weeks ago is not here yet and is also MIA. This has been a very disappointing shopping experience.

Yelp
Always so clean and they have a great selection upstairs and down. We had a few items from our wedding that had been damaged during our move so we went to see if we could either return or exchange them. The service was so nice and looked up everything for us and we were done in just a few short minutes. Such great service. We look forward to spending our store credit for the items that could not be replaced.

Yelp
My husband and I registered at Crate and Barrel for our wedding, and used this store as our home base for checking out items we'd like to add to the registry. They host occasional registry events, where couples come in, there are appetizers and you get an overview of the offers that come with a Crate and Barrel registry. The associates were always helpful, showing us how to set up the registry and add items to it at the store. To scan items, you can either use their in store scanner, or download the Crate and Barrel app and scan that way. We did find the app to be easier. We love their glassware selection, as well as their kitchen gadgets. While the store (and all of Oak Brook mall) can get a little hectic during the warmer months, we always love stopping into Crate and Barrel.

Yelp
I was looking for pieces to furnish a new apartment and Jody H. was very helpful throughout the entire process! I highly recommend her and appreciated her help. Great customer service out of the Oak Brook C&B location!

Yelp
Conveniently located next to the Pottery Barn, the Oak Brook Crate & Barrel now has a swanky two-story setup. Dishy things downstairs, furniture upstairs. We didn't like the furniture as much -- we were looking at chairs and sofas and they were just not as comfy to sit in. But the housewares were lovely and we ended up with two cute leather storage ottomans (ottomen?) for the den. Easy, stress-free pickup from the nearby loading dock and very helpful staff.

Yelp
If I had money I'd like this place more. They have some neat-o stuff. Once I had money and I bought a couch from here. At first it was awesome, now I would have to say I kind of hate it. And by kind of i mean the memory foam cushions are crrrrrrrap. They were supposed to be grrrrrrrreat, and about a month later they just didn't hold up. It's been like two +/- years now and it just makes me sad to sit on it. The cushions bounce back, but only for a few minutes. And on top of all that its not very deep. Unlike my reviews which are borderline Confucian. The store is laid out pretty well and gives the appearance that it is bigger than it seems. The kitchen area is chock full of wack-a-doo utensils. Seriously, how many variations on an egg poacher do you need? They have 5....that I saw. But at the same time they also have 3 different avocado slicers. The furniture looks really cool and some of it is actual quality. My couch is not one of those quality items, but some of the credenzas and dressers are nifty. Me and the wife registered here for the wedding thing and they had a "come in before we open and user the scanner thingy event". It was very nice and helpful. They also served coffee food and cake. One of the ladies demonstrating the food processor made the some of the best humus that I have ever had. I got a food processor from somewhere else cheaper. I still haven't made hummus.

Yelp
Whether or not I end up purchasing anything, I always walk of of here with good ideas. I've had great luck with the kitchen items I've bought. Furniture is pricey, but the quality is good. This is not my favorite Crate & Barrel, because of the size and layout. However, the employees have always been friendly and helpful.

Yelp
Was out and wandering about the mall and stopped in for no reason. The prices seem higher than other places but I just poking around. That was until I spotted a desk, I had been looking for awhile not sure what I wanted. I liked it large flat top 58inch with 3 large pull out drawers leaving the underneath wide open. The price was not bad but I was not sure. I left went and had a martini and everything became clear, I want that desk. So back to the store and the salesman helped right away and explained the delivery fee is a flat $99 no matter what the item. I chose to pick up. Assembly was not to bad. I am typing this review from my new desk, impressive isn't it. One note go to the store early or late afternoon you will avoid the crow of tards that zombie walk, don't move and just sit on the furniture playing on their phones. Not a bad place overall, pricey but ok and good service.

Yelp
Let me start by saying I love crate and barrel, and always have. I went to register over the weekend and was sitting down for the 'instructions and consult' portion of the day, before they will hand over a scanner. Now, I understand this is a key part in the process, there is protocol to follow, and some people have never been to/looked through a C&B...that being said, holy cow the "talk" took forever. My recommendation, unless you are TRULY clueless about knife sets and dishes, say you already have them/aren't registering for them/registered somewhere else... We had over 20 minutes of knife-talk and we told her we weren't getting knives from there. We also heard all about the dishes, which we had registered for elsewhere. I know she was only doing her job, but man, by the time we got up my stomach was growling. On to the store. C&B is well organized and displayed to give you the ability to actually picture it in your home, rather than just having a display with 50 of the same thing. That being said, there is a repetitive tendency throughout the store. We saw garlic presses (the same ones) in 3 different bin locations. We saw the same glasses in 4 different spots...it became a game. Make sure you start with one end, walk up/down each "section" since there aren't aisles, and take your time. There is SO much going on in a small space that you will have to actually look at what it is, otherwise you could miss something great...you could also see it 3-4 times....guess that's good if you want to make absolutely sure you want it?! Another pro is that there is staff in place all over the store. It is easy to get assistance if you need it, they offer graciously but don't hound you(other than the lady that hands out the scanner guns), and they seem to actually know what they're talking about. So, with all the positive "props", why only 3 stars? Well, the 40 minute "talk/explanation" that was not necessary for us took one off. We said mult times that we didn't want the demo/weren't registering for those items at C&B. The 2nd star came off because it just wasn't a "spectacular" experience as I had heard so many people rave about. I am sure it was just an off day, they are usually so spot on, and I have never registered with them, so maybe I had too high of expectations... I will update once we start having to deal with customer service/if anything comes in broken, things along those lines...C&B, we are far from done with you yet, I hope you re-impress me, you usually do such a great job!
