This was our first visit to a 'Brick & Mortar' Crate & Barrel. After purchasing items on their website, we figured it'd be fun to see the goodies in person. From e-commerce to eye-commerce!
Fab one and I took a day trip from Brooksville...a little shopping, a little lunch, a little who knows? Well, I do love to drive, we both love to shop and we are gourmet foodies after all!
We were immediately greeted by several of the store employees.
The store is light, bright and airy, two stories of shopping seduction. On that cue, we dove right in to the crates and the barrels!
Funny how you plan on shopping for just ONE item, but thanks to keen peripheral vision you become that veritable 'kid in a candy store'...and there we were, chasing after porcelain lollipops and cookware kisses!
Fab one was already visualizing plating up some superb cuisine on these new found treasures. Court low bowls, Cambridge Rectangular Platters, Over-The-Sink Mesh Colanders and more!
We were immersed in a sea of glee, as it were....and I love when my lady is delighted.
Let's talk about the C&B staff again. Each time we'd pass the check out, Barbara and Chuck were there for the hand off. They eased our burden of carrying platters and bowls. They skillfully stacked our prized pickings. When we could shop no more, Barbara handled the wand of scanning, laser tallying for the legal tender trade. Then, Chuck meticulously wrapped and gingerly boxed each item.
My wits are sometimes whirring, like a thousand wings, and with this cha-ching ring I realized, I had forgotten one little thing.
I was lax to ask if they had a discount for my past? A Veteran's Discount, that is...so I tardily asked.
Barbara politely smiled and answered with a hearty "Yes!". She summoned Steve to come help in this mess....(not a mess, at all!)
Steve re-rang the entire purchase, followed by a big "Thank you for your service", and a generous discount.
As Fab one and I strolled towards the door, we heard a trio of voices wishing us well and inviting us to come back for more!
I turned, smiled with a wink and a blink, knowing there's a birthday approaching for my Fab one, I think..
