Customer service goes a long way. After being referred by numerous people, we visited the store for the first time ever. Trying to support local instead of purchasing online, 100% would have rather supported any other business based only on the female worker alone. The lady working was not friendly at all. I felt unwelcomed by her lack of customer service and how the transaction took place. Spent $400 and felt like an inconvenience. I went into work the next day and told my coworkers about the experience and they called out the same employee for being a real gem every time she goes in also. Maybe you are used to dealing with grumpy old men or something. I don't know but we will take our business elsewhere.

Just picked up my Sthil 026, had it serviced and my 35 year old saw has never run this well.

I love shopping for clothing at this local store. The people are always so helpful. The Carhartt selection is one of the best I have ever seen. I don’t know how long they have been around but I hope they will be here for years to come.

If you like misogyny, this is the shop for you! As a woman, I do not believe anyone should be treated so poorly or as if they’re not smart enough to operate can opener, let alone coming in for help.

A very customer-first experience!
I stopped in for a little thingamajig and the staff knew immediately what I needed by me describing (kind of, anyway) what the little doohickey looked like. They were helpful, kind, and l liked the vibe in the store.

My son and I went to two other stores looking for a particular piece of equipment. We had been assured the fist store had it in stock. Nope. 2nd store, same. Crater Chain , where I might have suggested we stop first, HAD EXACTLY what my son was looking for.

Yelp
I've taken my chainsaw chains in to have sharpened and minor repairs done to my Stihl chainsaw. This summer I had a couple repairs on my Stihl that kept me from cutting up 20+ dead trees that my woodcutter took down. Unfortunately it was a hot dry summer so restrictions on cutting wood left my trees on the ground most of the summer. I took my Stihl chainsaw in to Crater Chain Saw to be repaired again and they said a week it'd be ready. It was the end of September already, I was super frustrated since I hadn't been able to cut and talked to the owners son if I couldn't please please get it in 2 days. I got a call two days later saying my chainsaw was repaired and I could pick it up. I was there asap, so very happy and extremely grateful that they put me in front of alot of professional loggers. Great people and I will definitely keep coming back to Crater Chain Saw!!!

Yelp
I was looking to buy a pair of classic Carhartt bib overalls, so of course I went to the Carhartt store. They didn't have a single pair in the size I needed, regardless of style, color, etc.
I came over to Crater Chainsaw and they literally have a bigger selection of Carhartt stuff than the Carhartt store does. They had the size I needed in two colors. Plus, they had a $20 off coupon and the staff was friendly, to boot.

Yelp
We recently moved to Eagle Point and bought our first chain saw ever. Used it a few times and then couldn't get it started again. Tried several days to start it. Ugh. Took it in to this store. An employee, sorry I didn't catch your name, came outside, showed us what was wrong (flooded even after several days!), showed us how to fix it and started it back up. YEAH!! No charge. It's refreshing to find good customer service. THANK YOU. Small acts of kindness will come back to you.

Yelp
This inconspicuous business is primarily a STIHL chainsaw store that also sells equipment for loggers, construction workers, and other outdoor workers. No Yelp category for this nor for rugged outdoor/workers clothing such as made by Carhartt. (How about a Work Wear category?)
I favor Carhartt clothing because it is very strong, well-made and has the best (non-kevlar-lined) jeans for motorcyclists: Logger jeans. 14 oz. denim with a double front that can hold knee pads or armor with a minimum of tailoring.
Crater Chainsaw usually has the best bargains for Carhartt clothing in this area. The staff are friendly and the store backs it products.
It may rate five stars, but I have only purchased clothing there so have no opinion on its other products and services.

Yelp
I LLOOVVE this family business! I bought a giant chainsaw and a bunch of Carhardtt )SP) pants, and then an electric Stihl chainsaw--the best saw ever for those tricky areas, and then cordless--the best for green style work... But the best part is Clyde and his family. This is a one of a kind, honest place.

Yelp
Great store for all your Carhart needs. Good selection and very accommodating staff, nice too. Big plus they were having a 20% off sale.

Yelp
I will never take any equipment to or buy anything from this business again. All they want to do I sell you new equipment. I paid for an older chain saw to get tuned up, twice, and all they told me is that they can't find old parts for this saw. I brought it home and it ran for five minutes. I had a friend take the saw, and it's a basic fix. Plus they set the saw up to fail, set it up to sputter out and look like it would never run. All it needed was a gasket and the carb to be set properly. I'm disappointed as all you hear are commercials about small town honesty and integrity. Honesty and integrity is the guy who took my product, fixed it and game me handshake afterwards.

Yelp
I am extremely unhappy with my experience at Crater Chainsaw. I bought a Stihl backpack leaf sprayer model SR430 from them brand new. Within a year of use it started to have issues like it was clogged. I brought it into them for repair less than a year old. Explained exactly what it was doing that I thought it was clogged. They kept it for over 3 months, fixed nothing, charged me over 100$ and gave it back to me still clogged. When I called them to complain they were rude, dismissive and offered nothing to fix the situation other than to bring it back for another extended stay and pay them more money. I took it apart myself and it was clearly clogged. Just like I said. It was a super easy fix. If they were at all knowledgeable about the product and listened to what I said was the problem they should of been able to quickly show me exactly where clog was, how to clean it, and sent me on my way. I now take all my Stihl service to Coastal Ranch Supply and they are awesome. Super friendly and helpful. Way way better than this mom and pop with terrible service. I try to support mom and pop over big box stores but not these guys.
