Crave Fishbar Upper West Side | Raw Bar & Seafood restaurant

Came by last night for dinner and was so amazed by the service, the food and overall experience. Before arriving I got a call from the restaurant asking about my accessibility preferences given my wheelchair. They agreed to reserve a table for us outside even though it’s typically first come, first serve. That was an awesome start but when I arrived, I was even more impressed with the attentive service. We were walked through the restaurant week menu which we ended up going for and started with the calamari and crab crispy rice. I ordered a filthy martini which came out pretty clear and they let me know that they water down their olive juice which was an interesting choice being for cocktails but great if you like em strong! For the mains, my friend got the Thai lobster curry and I ordered the spicy squid ink spaghetti. Definitely was way too much food but I’m glad I was able to squeeze a bite of the warm cookie a la mode dessert because it was DELICIOUS. New neighborhood fave! Thanks team.

I came here on Saturday night in mid July for a 745pm dinner a pleasant weather day with two other people. The reservation for the restaurant was booked less a week prior. The restaurant didn’t seem to be close to full at any point during our experience so a reservation might not always be needed. Note that is table seating in the front bar area as well as in the primary dining room, in addition to outside seating. I really wanted to like this restaurant. The menu looked great. The atmosphere of the restaurant is super charming and on theme. Our server was attentive, pleasant, and knowledgeable of the menu. I also tremendously appreciate the sustainable aspect of the menu and business. Unfortunately the food just tasted sort of like nothing. Everyone at the table agreed. I wouldn’t refuse to go back to this restaurant if someone suggested it, but I also wouldn’t see out another visit.

Delicious oysters - fresh and served with a nice informative description of where they were from. Delicious drinks. Their BigBen cocktail was tasty - quite strong as well. Their Affogato was generous and delicious. Celiac: Do not recommend due to low food safety. Although their menu gives the impression that they are attentive to gluten, it is not the case unfortunately. I was served gluten although verifying 3 times to ensure I was given the gluten-free version. This happened 3 separate times. That’s a lot. I am almost impressed. When I asked about the Tamari sauce, I was told “it should” be gluten free. The waitress indicated she wasn’t going to verify that with the kitchen. I skipped eating the dish.

What a gem of a restaurant. The quality of the fish and other food was top notch. The service could not have been better, and very friendly and accommodating staff. The high top seating in the front area is perfect, especially for people who need a high top for mobility or other issues. Just a quick 10 mins north of Lincoln Center, and centrally located on the UWS.

We went around the holidays and it was beautifully decorated outside and inside. The staff/waiters are amazing and attentive! Oysters are delicious and fresh -It’s been 24hrs since I ate there and didn’t get sick :) so that’s good! Happy hour is from 4-6 and that prices are very reasonable includes cocktails wine beer and food! For the main course (after 6pm) we had squid ink pasta, lobster roll and steak! All were very delicious and good portion.

I had a few expired pulsd credits (paid directly to the restaurant upon purchase), and Crave was the sole restaurant who refused to honor it despite receiving the money. Unfortunate as I was looking forward to trying it. Having read their reviews, it seems a lot of people find issue with their rude staff and poor management. I would highly recommend The Mermaid Inn instead! Delicious seafood and lovely staff.

Our favorite brunch place in the neighborhood. The food never fails, oysters always fresh, and the Bloody Mary, hands down, the best I have ever had. Been there multiple times and the service is always exquisite, you can feel genuine hospitality from them. Love love love this place a lot.

Great fishbar overall! Raw bar has over 15 oysters from all over US and Canada. The seafood was fresh, and loved the shrimp cocktail. Menu has a lot of plain and interesting combinations. The casual, lively ambiance made it a fun spot to relax and enjoy a Saturday meal - there were a lot of people and the staff was super friendly and attentive.

I can't express enough how impressive Mya's service is! Her attentiveness, friendly demeanor, knowledge of the menu really made my visit worthwhile after a long work week. I usually stop by during happy hour and was really looking forward to a particular dish. As luck would have it, I did not arrive in time this visit so it was no longer available. She suggested an alternative dish that was absolutely delicious!!! If you like quality seafood, amazing service, and family friendly atmosphere, THIS IS YOUR PLACE!!!! Kudos to the entire team.

Ok everyone listen up listen up this place is the best place to go for half hour. I'm not talking drinks. I'm talking some really good starters, food and drinks. The main menu is awesome as well I love my oysters. They were from West Coast to East Coast not one bad oyster totally melting in your mouth. Oh goodness highly recommend. The crab roll. Sushi was incredible so fresh with an added crunch of the seaweed. The environment is cool with wood decor and very comfy seats. Perfect for a positive eating experience with family The server and personal were excellent with knowledgeable of the menu and very professional. Please they have numerous GF options.

I've had this spot bookmarked for quite a while and it was finally time to knock this spot off the list. We went ham on the oysters and tried a variety of different oysters that they imported both from west coast and east coast, fresh water and salt water. Pricing can range vastly up to $4.50. So yes, this can get expensive, but well worth it, especially if you go during their oyster happy hours between 4-6PM, which we unfortunately missed at the time. Aside from the oysters, entrees included the Thai Lobster Curry ($48), which was a chu-chee curry with charred red onion, japanese eggplant, thai apple eggplant, fresh bamboo shoots. It was recommended to also order the Garlic Chive Griddled Rice ($12) with this dish, which definitely went very well with the curry itself. I ordered the Seared Rare #1 Yellowfin Tuna ($45) consisted of coriander adobo, mexican corn, smashed fingerling potatoes, queso fresco, pickled onion, guajillo salsa. Eating each ingredient in one big bite tasted really well. They taste great separately as well. Service is great here. Very attentive, well informed especially on the oysters, and made good recommendations. I would come back again for the oyster happy hour in the future.

This place is great. Bridget is a fantastic bartender and is actually what brought me into this location. They have a great HH which brings in a lot of folks but outside of HH it's still a good deal for the quality. The oyster selection is fantastic, you have west coast, and then down the eastern seaboard. They are incredibly knowledgeable about their oyster consumption and forge relationships with the different oyster farms to ensure the product is good. The salmon tostada bites are pure perfection. They have a couple good options for sake if that's your thing.

Amazing experience here. We came to celebrate my gf passing her LMSW exam and to our delight, they had martinis for $10 (all day Monday) and $1 oysters (also on Mondays)! Oysters were delish and fresh and martinis were strong and made to our liking. To make it even better, the service was phenomenal. We had the best waitress- she was super helpful and never rushed us. We also got a free dessert at the end, which was such a nice surprise! Loved it here and will definitely be back, they have a great HH and deals and everything is fresh and delicious.

Went to Crave Fishbar (UWS) for dinner with a group of five. The space is comfortable, not too many tables, which was nice not being on top of other diners. I also appreciated that there wasn't music blasting, which made for easy conversation. We had a round table, which was ideal for a group. We started with oysters (mix of East and West Coast varieties) and the salmon sashimi tosta, which was flavorful with a kick. For mains, our table tried a range: fish tacos, grilled barramundi, Thai lobster curry, and seared tuna over corn, all beautifully presented. I ordered the Spicy Yellowfin tuna sushi roll (Calabrian chile, basil, garlic-broccoli rabe) along with Brussels sprouts. Both were good but not great, the sushi especially felt a little heavy-handed on flavor and spice, overwhelming the fish itself. At $22 for six pieces, it felt overpriced, and in hindsight I should've gone with a classic entrée instead of sushi at a non-Japanese spot. We also shared three desserts: cookie, carrot cake, banana pudding which were a nice change of flavor after the rich, spicy food. Overall: there were many seafood options, and a nice atmosphere for groups. Personally, I wouldn't rush back, but it's a decent choice if you're looking for seafood prepared in a variety of ways.

I had heard so many good things about Crave Fishbar, and maybe it's just not then place for me. A lot of the ingredients that weren't the fish, tasted premade or even canned/jar. It had that plastic taste to a lot of things. The oysters were just fine. But they had a good selection of choices I will say that. The salmon sashimi tostada was easily the best part of the meal for me. But I will say that the avocado felt eerily similar to the creamed guacamole you buy in a plastic container at the grocery store. It had the same taste and feel to itt. The Seared Yellowfin tuna was a little confusing to me, the tuna itself as a quality of fish felt totally fine but the seasoning on it had almost nothing to it but "spicy". It wasn't flavorful at all and had no salt so it just tasted like nothing and was only a textural experience. The corn and potatoes were fine but the tomato sauce with chipotle felt like it came from a can or jar. It had a metallic taste to it. Not pictured, The Nashville Fish Tacos, were a big dissapouintment. It was lacking any sort of seasoning and flavor. And the fish was really fishy tasting. Once again it was spicy just to be spicy and didn't add any quality to the taco. The staff and service were great!

Cute and spacious space with very on theme decor. I initially found this place in search of happy hour oysters. They offer $2 special oysters which rotates off their normal oyster menu. Food was alright but prices did not match the menu that appeared online. They need to update the prices to what is current. My only complaint is the service took a long time to get our food out. Oysters came out pretty fast after drinks but we were waiting over 40min for the entrees. The restaurant wasn't even half full so it didn't make a lot of sense why our table was being served so slow. $2 oysters were originally $3.5 so that's a solid deal. The table got 40 and they were fresh and delicious. Salmon Benedict: 8/10- A solid Benedict! I loved that it was on a brioche bread and not an English muffin. Lots of salmon! I'm never a fan of salads as a side but it was decent. If you're looking for something that gives you the most for the price this is the way to go.

It's my first time there crave fishbar octopus was very nicely cooked perfectly. It's me and my friend where there . He ordered lobster curry I ordered grilled fish it come with nice crispy asparagus it's all good experience host make us sit server was nice and attentive. We had two drinks it's $85 per person check came out . We will Vist them soon couple of with my friends. Thanks very much for good food and service.

I have been going to this upper west side location for many years and it never disappoints. Wonderful oysters, especially at happy hour at a great price. Great cocktails superb food and always. The service is top-notch. It's one of my favorite places to go anytime I'm out either for business or a date.

This place is extremely mid for a brunch place (can't say for dinner, that might be a different experience I'm pretty sure). Only came here because it seemed like a healthy non-greasy spot when we were told it would be an hour wait at Jacob's Pickles (which funny enough is greasy af, so maybe Crave did save us after all lol). Let's start off with the great: the watermelon sangria is delicious as is the tuna roll. Then it kinda falls off from there. We had the calamari, ok-ish. My husband had the breakfast sandwich... which tastes like a bodega bagel with bacon, egg, and cheese (made at home). And I had the sushi bowl... which is salmon, rice, avocado, and watermelon radish? Eh it was just not it. For a place that claims to be a fishbar, I expected more beyond oysters and whatever else. The outside is beautiful and they offered water for our corgis after we took them to a meetup near by. But I hope the dining experience is better for others!

Lobster roll was good but not out of this world for the price imo. The cauliflower were a bit spicy. Brussels sprouts were good but felt drenched in sauce. Oysters were good. Drink -big ben felt a bit watered down. The service was great however and the ambiance was enjoyable. Better to have reservation otherwise might be more difficult to be accommodated.

I tried this place for Winter Restaurants Week and picked it because they keep their outdoor seating open year round and actually are willing to let people sit there in the winter! This is huge for my friends and I as we still take COVID precautions, which largely means only eating outside. They also have strong heaters, but the electricity was out, something the restaurant warned me about in advance but we picked a warmer night and it was all good. The food was great and the staff couldn't have been lovelier. I started with the warm crab sushi, which was very good, and absolutely loved my barramundi entree. Perfectly cooked, high quality fish. Dessert was the weakest course as the only choice was a warm skillet style chocolate chip cookie with ice cream, but it was still delightful. I would definitely come back, especially for their extensive happy hour and hospitality. Wheelchair access: fully accessible outdoors, entrance is accessible but I didn't go in so can't comment on layout or bathroom.

Boozy Brunches are my thing! Came here with a bunch of girlfriends to celebrate a birthday. Reservations are easily made via Opentable. Upon arrival we were greeted and seated. We were at party of 8 and although we were not all present they did allow us to sit (very rare). We started brunch with celebratory shots of mezcal. For brunch Crave has a 90min bottomless option which we all went with. For $19 you have a choice of Bloody Mary & mimosa. For an additional $5 you can also have margaritas, sangria or Big Ben. Totally worth it! Our waitress assured our glasses stayed full. For my meal I had the lobster roll with fries. So good! Buttery warm roll with mouthwatering lobster chunks. Crave Fishbar is the perfect chill brunch spot. If you're looking to enjoy your company and actually be able to hear what they're saying Crave is for you!

If you're craving Oysters and you're in New York UWS (upper west side) stop by Crave Fishbar! The best oysters, service is always on point, the ambiance is cozy and inviting! Make sure you ordered a coast to coast oyster tower!

Amazing seafood. No surprise at a place named "Fishbar." The calamari appetizer was fantastic, as was the fish stew. Others in my party loved their food. Very friendly, enthusiastic, and attentive service. On Sunday night the place was quiet. Plus, they have a Sunday night special with appetizer, main dish, dessert, and discount wine. Exellent and reasonable! Will come here again when I'm in town, for sure.

Totally loved this place! One of the more upscale restaurants in the area, went with some family for a nice dinner. Cute nautical vibe inside, but we sat outdoors. We got the gem salad, tuna sashimi, lobster curry, and barramundi and all were amazing, especially our entrees. Fabulous, attentive servers all around. Will definitely return!

Just had the WORST MEALl at Crave Fish Bar (Amsterdam and 80th.) Ordered the ROASTED SUMAC SPICED ICEANDIC COD with pickled vegetables, turnips, cubanelle, pappadews, soft pitas and hummus. Came with ABSOLUTELY NO pickled vegetables, turnips, cubanelle, or peppadews. Just a 3-oz piece of UNSPICED cod swimming in a bowl of hummus. I've had nice meals here. This was unacceptable. Especially for $38.

Very pricey, OK tasting food, servers got mixed up on one of our order. Probably won't come back again.

It's gone downhill slightly over the last 10 years. There is less offered during the happy hour for oysters and the costs have gone up. The service has declined a bit too sadly.

Excellent oyster on-the-half-shell selection and fish-oriented spring rolls and tacos. The wine list adequately complements the seafood menu items.

We came here on a weeknight to try their oyster happy hour. We also ordered some drinks and small plates to share. In summary, the food was good here but the wait time for oysters during the happy hour was long. I'd recommend arriving early if you want to get a fair share of oysters. Our server was polite and knowledgeable. As for the place itself, it was beautifully decorated and made dining inside an enjoyable experience. We ordered a dozen oysters and also took it upon ourselves to try the salmon sashimi tostada and the sea bass crudo. Both were discounted on the happy hour menu. The salmon I could skip for next time. The crudo was on point and I'd order it again. It's possible I'll be back again. I'd like to try their full menu at some point.

Overall a 3.5/5. Came here with a reservation for 1:30 on a Saturday. It wasn't too crowded for a Saturday brunch which was a relief. We did the 90 minute bottomless brunch. What was different than most places, they gave you a fish place card with the start/stop time. I got mimosas and my husband got beer which was in a can. The mimosas were more on the orange juice side and I had wished I could swap it for a different juice since I'm not a huge fan of oj, but that wasn't an option. Our food and drinks came out in a reasonable fashion. I was in between the squid ink pasta and the Nashville fish tacos, and ultimately landed with the tacos. I ordered the 4 piece tacos, but 2 only came. They did have a kick to it and the fish was cooked nicely, but I felt like it needed a good spicy sauce because once you got into the fish it overall tasted bland and I asked for more limes and salt to give it more flavor. When my waitress returned I mentioned I had ordered the 4 piece tacos and she had made the correction. Service was good, I thought our waitress was good about checking on us and seeing if we wanted more drinks and our table was lopsided and she tried to fix it. My husband's tuna was paired with corn, he felt as thought the piece of tuna was not one of the best he tasted and I thought the combination of a southwest flavored corn and sauce with a delicate tuna didn't work. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, but from a food perspective it didn't wow me or leave me wanting more. I would visit again and give the squid ink pasta a try.

I've given Crave Fish Bar more than one chance to show basic hospitality--and each time, the staff doubled down on rudeness despite an entirely empty restaurant. Arriving without a reservation (for Happy Hour!) to a visibly vacant dining room, I'm met with "Do you have a reservation? We're very booked up," followed by reluctant seating or dismissive instructions to sit outside because it's "first come, first served." On a later visit, seated outdoors among empty tables, a waitress begins an unnecessary argument, insisting I should have checked in with the host due to a "waiting list." When I offer to leave, she pivots--"Oh no! It's okay"--but by then the tone has been set. I left. It's not about policy. It's about how it's delivered. The welcome is consistently unwelcoming. There are so many restaurants on the UWS with wonderful staff, why spend money where you're treated poorly?

This place was awesome! I came here for my birthday and everything was so good. I loved the decor; it reminded me of the Hamptons. As for the food, their oysters were slightly on the smaller size for other seafood restaurants I've been to but considering the fact that this was middle of the city and a place near the ports, it was great! They have a great $1.50 daily choice oysters that were better than the ones we chose ourselves haha. I think this place had the best squid ink pasta I've ever had. The butter sauce and shrimp was so good. Also, hands down the best affogato I've had in my life. The espresso and the whipped cream they provided were 10/10. They even provided a free massive cookie because it was my birthday and I expected a simple cheap cookie but it was absolutely delicious. I will definitely be adding this to my list of go-tos when in the city.

One of the best restaurants on the upper west side, best oysters I have had in a while, and apparently oyster masters do exist. Worth going out of your way to come here. Service is top notch, all of the servers are friendly, polite, and very knowledgeable. The passion is there, eating here is always a special treat.

My friends and I came here for oysters during happy hour and this place did not disappoint!! The oysters were delicious, they were freshly shucked as they were being served and you could taste the difference. The server made a mistake in my order, I had ordered an oyster slider but they gave me a regular slider instead. The manager took care of it so graciously though, not only did they take that slider off the menu but they also gave me a free drink as an apology. I was very happy with the service. The ambience is very cozy and nautical. It's a place where you can hangout for hours after work, which is exactly what we ended up doing. The drinks were also amazing! I would definitely recommend this place especially for their happy hour between 4-6pm.

Today was my second time visiting Crave Fishbar UWS (I've also been to the Midtown location last year as well). My last visit to the UWS location was early 2022. Food and service were good back then. Today....was not a good experience at all. My fiancé and I had brunch with "Drink like a fish" (basically 90 minutes unlimited drinks). After the first drink came, the waitress put a sign with the time the 90 minutes would be up. Thought that was neat but it also came with a disclaimer, only one drink at a time and if we ordered too fast we'd get cut off before the 90 minutes. Okay... in all my life and in all the restaurants I've been to, I've never heard that one before, but thought maybe they had some rowdy people in the past who got too drunk or something. After we received our first drink, we chatted for bit while waiting on our food. The waitress came back and seemed shocked that we finished the first drink, and made a remark. I started feeling a bit uncomfortable, like I was being watched, but ordered a second drink anyway. Pacing seemed spaced out on purpose so we don't order too much. My second drink order was wrong; ordered a mimosa and got a beer (I don't drink beer), but I didn't want to cause any issues. Food arrived. Good, basic, small portions. I ordered a third drink, but my fiancé was told he couldn't order another until he finished what he had (which we understood) and not to chug it. At this point we felt like we were children being told what we could have and how much. After the third drink we left. There was still 45 minutes left (out of 90) and we were still hungry, thought about ordering more food but honestly didn't feel comfortable with the service so far and ended up eating at a place across the street afterward. I would not recommend visiting Crave Fishbar. Service is abysmal and honestly there are better seafood restaurants in the city.

Fresh oysters and delicious hot food. Unfortunately, our young blond waitress was condescending and inefficient, despite it being a rather empty restaurant. She abruptly cut off Happy Hour early, even though the menu clearly stated it ended a half an hour later. We had to ask for implements and other necessary items, all with a huffy attitude from her. All of felt unsettled leaving the place because of her inhospitable attitude. On the other hand, Lou was a sweetheart and was very kind and professional. Ambiance is nice!

We finally checked out Crave Fishbar one day for brunch after having bad luck finding a reservation on a beautiful Sunday in NYC. I guess everyone else was thinking the same thing as us and wanted to dine out while enjoying the sunny weather. Crave had been on my radar for a while, so I decided to organize a friends brunch there. We started our brunch with oysters for the table, which are priced $1.5 each for Sunday brunch. I forget the variety they served on our visit (definitely east coast), but they were super fresh and briny and tasted delicious. My meal was just okay. I had wanted the Fish Stew, which I found out they only served for "Sunday Supper," so the amazing waitress (Gwen) talked me into ordering their special Lamb Burger. The burger was just okay, and I wouldn't necessarily recommend it. Oh, and I later learned that it was $28 - yikes. Definitely not worth it. Two of my friends ordered the Poké Bowl entrée. The dishes were super small, and one friend indicated that the texture was weird because of the addition of mung bean sprouts. I don't mind mung bean sprouts, but I can't say I've ever had them on a Poké Bowl. One of my friends did enjoy his meal--the Omelet with Crab and Gruyere. I had food envy when this dish came to the table because it did look quite tasty. Final Thoughts: There was probably a good reason I could get a reservation at Crave when everything else around was booked up. It truly was just okay. I likely would not return to Crave except maybe to hit up their $1oyster Happy Hour after work.

We came here for the happy hour whoch is everyday!!! There was a large selection of oysters and other bites. Everything was delicious but what really stood out was the service from the staff especially Claire. She gave great recommendations and was very attentive. She was a total pleasure. We will definitely be back.

Wonderful brunch and service! We went with a group with my little Mimi and she was such a good dog! Ordered the fish taco, fish sandwich and the cauliflower side dish. They were delicious! I especially loved the fish tacos, with a huge serving of cabbage. And the fish sandwich was so delicious! Much better than the fish filet from McDonalds! Overall wonderful brunch meal and great service!

We were looking for an hour to kill before meeting some friends for dinner. We came upon this place for happy hour and it was absolutely amazing. We got delicious oysters, salmon sashimi, and hand cut fries. The salmon was definitely my favorite thing on the happy hour menu. It was not too filling and was an explosion of flavors. Will definitely be back for more!

On a dreary day in NewYork, I found my way to this quaint restaurant and was pleasantly surprised. The weekends always call for brunch and to enjoy a pescatarian based brunch was just what I needed. The fish tacos were delicious, flatly fish and well balanced toppings a top a soft tortilla... you can't go wrong. I did add a bit of kimchi butter to them after tasting it on the fried fish and waffles. A must! The waiters were friendly and offered details about the menu that one might miss. After suggesting the $1.5 oysters of the day, he also walked us through the brunch drink options, which included being able to drink like a fish for 90min! I can't wait to go back!

The food is decent. For appetizers, we shared the calamari and the fish tacos. The calamari was crispy, and the sauce was flavorful without being overpowering. The fish tacos were also good. I got the crab fusilli for my entree, and while the crab had nice flavor, the overall dish was a bit bland and under-seasoned. Service was very friendly and cheerful.

Happy hour is such a steal. I managed eating two dozen of oysters. Sweet oyster with dry white wine comes under $100 per person.

Started out with Lychee lemonade mocktail, then had barramundi with asparagus and salmon with tossed salad. It was ok, I felt the barramundi was a little overcooked and needed a small carb side as well to be the most enjoyable, my friend liked her salad and salmon. Service was good and the first floor is handicap accessible with a bathroom on the same level, however the inside chairs on the first level are very high, we sat outside at a low table next to a beautiful flower column. There is also a second floor up about five steps with low tables too.

I heard good things about this restaurant and was not disappointed! Stopped in Sunday during Happy Hour. All tables in the downstairs are available for happy hour drinks and food. This nice upscale neighborhood restaurant at 81st & Amsterdam has seating inside and outside. They call it NYC's best oyster happy hour deal and they are right. Offered every day from 4-6. This is a great way to start your night. There's a choice of 7 different types of oysters with prices ranging from $1.50 - $4, We started with the Blue Point - 12 meaty little guys on the half shell. They were nice and cold. So good, we ordered another dozen. Paired well with the Mexican Pilsner they have. The best way to get out of the summer heat and cool down.

Place is a bit busy and noisy, but on the positive side, prices are very reasonable. Servers were friendly, but I was sat at w wobbly table, which caused spelled drinks. It wasn't even a proper table. In either case, they wedged it, and it won't be a problem till the next customers sit. I ordered the sea bream. Can't really rave about it. Whole fish is easy to prepare. I expect perfection. They served the Seabream without removing the stuffed spices and lemon, and frankly, I could have done a better job myself. They also didn't provide proper fish knives. Bottom line is a decent but not a great experience

Came here for an impromptu brunch and it did not disappoint. All the seafood was very fresh. We got the $1.50 oysters, spicy tuna roll, salmon sashimi tostadas, and lobster roll. Everything was very tasty. The lobster roll was so so good. We also did the $19 bottomless add on which included 90 minutes of bottomless bloody Mary's, mimosas, and pilsners. Great seafood place with plenty of great brunch options

Crave has a lot going for it: a popular happy hour; outdoor seating; impeccably fresh, often sustainable seafood sourced from not too distant parts; and fair prices. But like most of us, it's not perfect. Downsides to its popularity include long waits to order during busy periods and cramped seating, especially outdoors. We always seem to miss the happy hour, but happy hour oysters at Crave are often sort of emaciated and perhaps a touch less fresh than those ordered from the regular menu, so I don't mind paying a bit more for the latter. Per usual, on a recent non-happy-hour visit, oysters were beautifully shucked, but young (one-year-olds at the most) and therefore small. I had black duck, blue point, and Malpeque oysters and was quite impressed with whoever shucked my irregularly shaped Malpeques. There wasn't a single sliver of shell inside the oyster. Mignonette and cocktail sauces were both forgettable, but I am always happy to stick to the lemon and grapefruit wedges. Non-traditional rolls like Crave's Spicy Yellowfin Tuna Sushi Roll ($18.00; hand chopped tuna, calabrian chili, broccoli rabe, 6pcs) from non-sushi restaurants aren't usually my thing for various reasons. Snots like me find fault with the mushy rice, soggy nori, and the creamy/spicy adulterant that the cynic in me thinks is there to cover up less-than-fresh fish. But the Pardner loves this stuff and I found the broccoli rabe stems to be an interesting and inspired ingredient. Visually, it resembled asparagus, but had a little more bite, a pleasant touch of bitter. A generously sized fillet of Oven Roasted Barramundi ($35.00; with miso honey glaze, jumbo asparagus, chipotle oil; gluten-free) was impeccably fresh. I enjoyed the spicy-sweet glaze, but flavors were more intense than I personally wanted for fish of this quality. I ended up scraping off all but a bit of the glaze from the skin. Asparagus was fair, a touch undersalted and tough -- but that made a nice foil for the stronger flavors in this dish. We received the Fusilli Calabresi with Jonah Crab ($31.00; Brussel sprouts, Thai basil, ricotta salata, Calabrian chili, lemon) by mistake, but liked it even more than the cavatelli dish the Pardner had ordered. The dish was delicate and nuanced, the tender slivers of Brussels sprouts, sweet crab, and al dente pasta, all married by a gently creamy, acidic sauce. Our server was great -- actually overly generous -- and insisted he bring us the Homemade Cavatelli ($26.00; vine ripened tomato ragout, whipped ricotta, basil puree) that we'd originally ordered in addition to the fusilli, which the Pardner had already started eating. Cavatelli was a touch oversalted, but otherwise simply and nicely made with perfectly al dente pasta enlivened by sharply pungent basil puree. Cocktails were pleasant and strong as usual. (We had our go-tos, the Good Life and a bloody Mary.) Love having this neighborhood staple nearby, especially now that the UWS Mermaid Inn has permanently shuttered.

OMG my wife and I are regulars as we live 2 blocks away however she was in the dining room with a friend last night and 2 BIG RATS ran out from the kitchen. WTF??? If this is what's happening during dinner service I can only imagine how infested this place is. She reported them to the health dept.. This place needs to be shut down ASAP. We'll never go back and neither will the few dozen friends and acquaintances we have in the neighborhood. If you live in the area or are familiar with this place spread the word.

Fast service, nice outdoor seating and decent food. The he cod and waffles was cooked to perfection. Love the kimchi butter. The chirashi bowl had a ton of salmon and nice crunch. Brussels sprouts were not over fried or oily. The calamari had good textures but needed a squeeze of lemon. Overall a decent spot for some seafood!

Our last minute date night at Crave was wonderful. While it was busy and we didn't have reservations, the hostess allowed us options for inside or out. We opted for in right behind the host stand, same side sitting and enjoying the view from there. Maya greeted us with a warm smile and bubbly personality. The Good Life and Fade Into Black were our favorite cocktails of the evening. Every dish was flavorful and delicious. The ambiance was great and we had wonderful conversation with Maya and the hostess who gave us some history about the restaurant. We definitely recommend stopping by Crave Fishbar for your next meal.

We had dinner at the Crave on the Upper West Side last night. I made a reservation in advance and even though we arrived a bit early, they had a great table for us. I like their dining area as they have outdoor, and then sort of two options indoors - the tables in the front and the booths in the back. We were greeted right away and our server let us know about the specials. We ordered a bottle of Pinot Noir on the specials list while we decided on appetizers. To start we got an order of calamari which came pretty quickly. It was good but no one thought it was great. I loved that it had a lot of basil and sprouts but one of my kids said that was all he liked about it. They had a special on mussels served one of three ways. I ordered them with Kimchi. One son ordered salmon and the other ordered a steak. My husband got the more traditional mussels. The salmon and my kimchi mussels were amazing. I'd go back today and get the kimchi mussels again if I could. That good. The others were not unhappy but not doing the back flips that I was. I also got a side of cauliflower (so-so) and watermelon with feta (fantastic). They changed servers halfway through our meal and service improved greatly. It was never bad but our water glasses were constantly in need of being refilled. Definitely worth a visit!

Made a reservation for noon on Sunday. I liked the venue, and the two of us got seated on a corner booth which was a nice space but my head kept banging against the mirror on the wall. We both got the fried fish sandwich ($17.50). The sandwich is cut in half, and while I appreciated that the fish was not overcooked or greasy, it was not very flavorful and it completely spilled out of the sandwich. It was a bit impossible to eat altogether aside from the first bite. I did like the sesame bun which comes from Orwashers. I also liked the salad on the side, which was sizable with vinegar dressing. They didn't have the lobster curry for brunch, so I'll have to come back again and reserve my judgment until then.

This spot was on my list for a while and was so happy to see that they offered happy hour after brunch hours on Saturday! Such a great option when you don't want to lose your morning to the brunch crowds and enjoy some delicious oysters at a great price. Especially since you can select the cheaper east coast oysters and the slightly higher west coast oysters. Tacos, sliders and other small quick eats are part of the happy hour menu along with great drink options. The service was great since there wasn't many tables booked allowing us to enjoy the retro decor of the place. Can't wait to revisit.

The exterior of the restaurant is beautiful. Walking in there was a nice ambiance. My server was wonderful and attentive. For starters we had the crab sushi roll. Nothing spectacular. We ordered a crab roll which we weren't too thrilled about. The roll wasn't buttered to our liking and the crab mix could've been better. I ordered the Fusilli Pasta. Aesthetically it looked delicious. However you needed to add the spicy sauce to it for it to be really flavorful. Luckily I don't mind spicy so it was ok to me. Just ok. Overall, my experience wasn't the best, but it wasn't the worst for a fish bar
