I had the day off work for the holiday and we decided to try brunch in a different area. Normally, we love to brunch in Detroit, but this sport was a pleasant surprise. Recently opened, Crave has HUGE potential. Walking in the door, we noticed the modern decor and design. For a simple little restaurant on the outside, we were pleasantly surprised with the inside. There is a full bar and a variety of seating areas. We were seated at a quaint high top table, but there are booths and tables to accommodate a larger party. We had time to spare so we spent some time perusing the menu. We had such a difficult time deciding on our order because we wanted everything off the menu. He ordered the French Toast Monte Cristo and I ordered the Garden Dutch Baby. We both wanted to sample the Biscuits and Gravy, too. We decided on coffee and tea, but there is a full bar if your're up for a fancy cocktail. Our food came out and it was delicious. We always share our food, so it's a win, win for both of us. His Monte Cristo was yummy! It was cooked perfectly and was stacked with thick pieces of baked ham. The raspberry sauce pairs well with this breakfast specialty. My Garden Dutch Baby was ridiculously large, and AMAZING! I would call it the "cheese" Dutch Baby because it was loaded with cheese. The Biscuits and Gravy were average. I wouldn't go out of my way to order it a second time. The gravy was fine, but the biscuits were basic and somewhat hard. They just didn't taste fresh. We were pleased with our overall experience and the waitress was pleasant and patient with us. We were just enjoying our time talking and never felt rushed. If you happen to be in the area, I highly recommend Crave.
